Situated very close to Theater Bellevue and the Rijksmuseum, Park Centraal Amsterdam was recently refurbished and provides modern rooms featuring an iPod docking station, a refrigerator and a mini bar. Pros:it was fine in all ways.
Cons:It is listed as a 4 star hotel. I would disagree, it is a solid three. Amsterdam is a special city and this hotel is large and not terribly unique. I would stay somewhere smaller and possibly nicer given the chance to do it again.

Pros:We've been traveling to different parts of Europe and the Park hotel had the most comfortable bed we slept on during our travels. The location is absolutely perfect. Max 10-15 minute walk to most attractions.. Anne Frank House, red light district, museums, casinos, cafes, parks.. Most were only 5 minutes away.

Pros:The location is perfect. We recieved a warm welcome upon arrival, and was please try suprised at the accomodations. The bed was very comfortable, view perfect, and the room size would meet or exceed any standards. Literally the best location for a brief walk to vo delpark, museums, de hallen, red light district, and tram stops.
Cons:There is no pool, but for us we didn't care. The lobby was warm, as is standard in most of holland, but rooms are well air conditioned.

Pros:Location and staff were great. Breakfast although pricey was huge! Very decent! Very clean and comfy bed. Room was modern although the "non-divided"/private bathroom may be an issue to non-couples.

9.1 Wonderful
Pros:From a tourist perspective the location of this hotel is very good indeed, it is just metres from the great galleries and Vondel Park, and close to Jordaan. The #197 trolley bus around the corner opposite the Van Gogh museum takes you to Schiphol in 30 minutes for 5 euro (pay as you get on), every 1/4 hour, and trams #2 and #5 take you to the main railway station. Despite being on the relatively busy Stadhoudekade street, the hotel is quiet. The rooms are clean, very comfortable, slightly but not overly cramped, idiosyncratic in design, with air conditioning that works. The staff are intelligently helpful, switched on, and very pleasant. I think that is a Dutch thing anyway. I took the 'with breakfast' option. I recommend it. All this comes in at about $210/night per room including taxes. There are plenty of cheaper places around but if you are in Amsterdam for a couple of days and want a faultless, quiet, reliable, central place to stay, this is a good candidate to consider, and worth the money if you have it.
Cons:The only thing that I wasn't keen on was the Momo restaurant that is attached to the hotel. It is a Sushi only restaurant, so if Sushi is not what you want, too bad. We ate there one evening and while the Sushi itself was no doubt excellent, it was expensive for what it was - as in my opinion Sushi tends to be. If you like a rank of chefs attending minutely to each bite, and lots of pretty waitresses regularly asking if you need anything, or don't really mind about the cost, that's fine, enjoy it and pony up liberally at the end. Otherwise, don't come to this place too hungry, or with kids, this one is for the up-market purists. There are better places nearby, serving quality food of other types for quite a lot less.
