The staff was extremely friendly at pick-up and drop-off.Cons:
The offer listed a car with automatic transmission. The one made available to us had a manual transmission. While there were no issues with driving the car itself, I feel as a customer it is simply not fair to charge the original amount and deliver a diferent product. I hope this is passed on forward. Hertz/Localiza was great. I have rented a lot of cars from them without any problem.Cons:
The problem was the address for the car rental agency that CarRentals.com sent me via email was incomplete (no street name) so when it put it in google maps and waze nothing would show up. The phone number also wasn't working so it took driving to several locations and over an hour an a half to find the car rental agency.FOCO

Decent value for money. Cheap quality car -- a Fiat Mobi. The most uncomfortable driver's seat I've sat in, in years. You get what you pay for!Cons:
The pick-up location is listed as the airport, whereas in fact, it is a few km away. While there is a shuttle bus, this isn't indicated in the instructions. The paperwork and procedures took about an hour to complete. Not particularly efficient, although staff were friendly.One location in Salvador

NOTHING! I WAS SCAMMED BY BUDGET AND KAYAKCons:
When I reserved the car, I also purchased Car Insurance through the web-site. When I picked up the car I was informed that I either had to purchase insurance for the car or the y would need to place a 12,000 Reais hold for me to take the car (about $4,000). I showed the agent that I had already purchased insurance and was told that that insurance was not valid. My credit card apprioved the rental, but declined the extra 12,000 Reais. I tried to contact them with my cell phone, but the callls would not go through. I asked the agent to place the call (it is a collect call) but was told they were unable to place international calls. After about 20-30 minutes discussion, as "an accomodation to me and with the approval of the supervisor, they would release the car if I purchased the minimum insurance and still be liable for approximately $4000.00." I purchased the insurance as the hotel was about 55 kilometers away and only used the car for the trip back and forth to the hotel. The rest of the time, the car remained parked on the hotel property for the entire week. as I was afraid to use the car to explore the area.6.0 Okay

Our insurance was not accepted and we had to pay for another one!!! It took ages until we got the car and also to drop it off. Lots of different forms to fill out and our passport and driver license was copied several times for no reason. We were filling out forms for at least 45 minutes...One location in Salvador
