The bed was super comfortable, the location was spectacular! Close to tram station which we rode all over Basel, sightseeing, and right next to the historical bridge to all shopping and restaurants. The hotel provided free cards for all trams and buses! The included breakfast was superb! Great restaurant and bar for the evenings, too. Very warm and welcoming staff. Free bottled water and juice/soda. We really enjoyed our time at the Merian. Thank you!
The rooms were warm, as the building is historical and has no air. But there is a fan provided. We had a river view with balcony, so we kept glass doors open and fan bringing in cool air. Rooms are all modern and comfortable/super clean. Woul not stay there in a heat wave! But weather in Basel is pretty moderate.
