In my work as a journalist and writer have visited hundreds of hotels in Andalucía over the years. La Posada is always my first choice when flying in or out of Málaga or when walking in the Sierra de Mijas. Better value than the sister hotel La Fonda, quiet, with an excellent breakfast and very spruce rooms.
I was the last guest down to breakfast and well before the 10.30 cut off time. But as soon as I sat down the staff began clearing the breakfast buffet away (and some of the plates were empty). No smile or greeting nor from the extended family and friends of the owners who were eating and arguing at the next table. It made me feel like I was intruding on their coffee-time get together.

Disappointed with our room, room 8. Only because we had an attic room, would have been nice to a balcony.

Great location in pretty street central to Benalmádena. Good breakfast.
Our room was on 3rd floor and we had to duck the roof to move around. We have heard that the rooms on other floors are better.

Excellent location. Air conditioning. It's possible to have parking for 5€.
Third floor, small room, rather old repair. Breakfast is pretty simple. English is not strength of staff.
