Albergaria do Calvario

The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful. The location is perfect. It is a truly outstanding hotel. The breakfast was so delicious.

Check in took a little long. Other guests were checking in so we had to wait. And the staff don't rush the check-in process (great for guests checking in but not so good for guests waiting to check in).

We were welcomed to Albergaria by Peter and Lucy who promptly got us a glass of wine and iced tea -- while another staff member parked our car for us. Both Peter and Lucy were wonderfully friendly and welcomed us to the property. They showed us on a map exactly where all of the sites were, as well as made reservations for us for dinner (which was a problem since we were there on a Sunday night and many of the local restaurants were closed). They rushed to get us into our room which was lovely. The room was well equipped with all of the comforts of home. We were able to get a light lunch at the hotel bar which was delicious. It looked like they may have also served dinner which I'm sure was equally as good. Peter, who is originally from Virginia and his wife, whom we did not get a chance to meet, have obviously thought of everything that a visitor would want or need. No request is too much and every staff member we encountered went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and they even offer eggs, pancakes or french toast to order. Hint: French toast is yummy! We had a lovely time in Evora and would not hesitate to come back. Thank you to all of the staff at Albergaria for making our stay so wonderful!

Setup, reception, bar, breakfast room and rooms very convenient and fresh decor. Our bed was comfortable and staff was extremely helpful to set up tours, make reservations or call for a taxi.

Great staff, very helpful and I did not know the owner until the last day. It turned out he was the one helping the entire way.
