I liked the location of the place, very much actually! Close to the beach and a short and pleasant walk away to shops and restaurants around. They also have a reconditioned van in which you can sleep - and this is also a pretty cool idea (and I preferred sleeping there rather than in our double room). But, this is where the good things seem to end.
I didn't understand the hype surrounding this place or the high scores attached. My personal experience was that I stayed for two nights in a humid, small, and dark room, on an age-old mattress and linen full of holes. The level of security as to my things in the room seemed 'zero' to me (even if the door closes, the windows can easily open). Also, the double room is very close to the common area, so you get sleep probably at 3am (when everybody else does) and we were even woken up at 6:30am by the works carried around the premises. Friendliness of the staff? Only 1 person was friendly to us. And I felt harassed before arriving about my actual stay-- 'Will you come?' 'Will you pay?' 'Provide us with this and that...' ...but when I actually gave solutions and options, not one was followed through. It is such a shame, as the place has SO MUCH potential, could be better maintained, kept clean, and refurbished altogether,
Just 5 minutes walk to the beach, nice kitchen with a lot of stuff to cook well, Monica , Markus and the other employee were really friendly, always there to help, 10 minutes walk to a big supermarket, nice hammocks
Nice and cozy little hostel with wonderful staff.
The location was good, close to beach and bus stops. Wifi was good.
The bathroom in our private room was definitely not cleaned. The sheet didn’t fit the bed so you continuously woke up on the mattress. The room was extremely stuffy and humid. It also opens onto the common area outside so it is very loud. The kitchen was unclean. Staff were not helpful and there was no baggage storage.
Great staff and beautiful property!
