In season, Shelter Cove Harbour is the epicenter of Hilton Head!
March heralds our weekly Music and Taste on the Harbour!
Locals and visitors flock the harbor for a fun street dance party beneath our larger than life King Neptune Sundial.
Hilton Head’s most popular dance bands provide the live music and 7 harbor front restaurants alternate presentations of light fare and cocktails in kiosks alongside.
If dancing’s not your bag, you may want to BYOC (bring your own chair) but seated dining is available first come first served at each restaurant as well.
The vibe gets even stronger in mid-June when these restaurants retreat to feature their own patio musicians for their al fresco diners.
That’s when the big party moves to the center stage right beside our building!
Monday through Friday, folks who grew up singing along with Shannon Tanner are back, passing the baton to their own kids singing their favorite tunes and learning new ones as he performs his family friendly, interactive musical review.
Mom and Dad can sit and relax while watching their kids limbo lower or take the mic and sing their favorite song accompanied by Shannon on guitar.
On Thursday nights, Shannon rock’s the Harbor with his FULL BAND!
Shan Tan and the Oyster Reefers perform a sunset celebration of music at his Jimmy Buffet inspired and approved Parrot Palooza Fest!
Clap your hands, sing along or join in a line dance to Mustang Sally all the while sipping on Hilton Head’s best Margaritas!
Look for bouncy-houses, face painting, hair wrapping, clowns, refreshment and novelty vendors, crafts for the kids, and even a fun train which can move you and your kids all along the basin.
If all that wasn’t enough, a Tuesday night celebration of seismic proportions starts out the same way but ends with a BANG when Harbourfest lights the night with a fireworks display worth writing home about! If you don’t want to stand and watch, the magnitude is not diminished if you retreat to your private balcony- in select villas, you can still see the whole display from there!
By mid August, Hilton Head morphs into an entirely different experience. Families with kids are in back-to-school mode. This is the perfect season for a more leisurely time along the harbour and at the beach. The intensity is over yet summer isn’t- not by a long shot! And speaking of long shots…the first fall breezes make it prime time for golf! Islanders businesses gear up for friendly competition at several fall festivals: Wingfest, Oyster Festival, Seafood Festival, Chili Cook-off, Cajun Festival, Winefest and more! Then, just in time for The Holidays, the harbor once again lights up but instead of fireworks, the focus is on the water as boat owners out-do each other with sparkling strands of lights.
