Best London hotels near King's Cross
At Kimpton Fitzroy London, we have stories galore to tell. From the outside, the palatial 19th-century landmark building, which occupies a full block in Bloomsbury, looks the part of grande dame. Inside are contemporary creature comforts like roomy, art-filled suites with views over Russell Square, a cocktail bar that keeps the Negronis flowing, and a come-as-you-are coffee shop just steps from the Tube. All of these details beckon modern travelers to settle in and stay a while.

Pros: Staff during check in was great and also during check out. Room was comfortable and the hotel have a great location.
Cons: Unfortunately after my room was serviced noticed a huge black hair on top of my bed that wasn't great. Also felt completely ignored by chief concierge while waiting for luggage. Not even an acknowledgement or an eye contact while he was specking trivia with other guest and on my way out of the Hotel the same person not even ask to help us with luggage. I'm speaking about a gentleman that have the clefs d'or in his jacket, this should be synonyms of excellency, what it wasn't in this gentleman's case.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, in a landmark building Russell Square. Russell Square tube station is next door. The Lobby was amazing, and the rooms comfortable and stylishly decorated with cool artwork and pops of color.
Cons:
7.1 Good
Pros: The lobby and all the bars are beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower great. It was nice but just didn't feel very five star.
Cons: The check in was incredibly slow and there was a mix up with our room keys which took quite a while to resolve. (Though we were given two vouchers for money off the bar.) Service was again terribly slow at breakfast, and the food wasn't very hot, but a 12.5% service charge was added to it. It also seemed a very expensive room rate to not include breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel is beautiful and interesting, like something out of Upstairs, Downstairs. Our room was especially lovely, with a canopy bed, marble bathroom and all the amenities.
Cons: The cost of eating or drinking in the hotel was unbelievably high. We ate breakfast there one day but quickly learned that a Manger, nearby, had better food for much less money.
5.8 Okay
Pros:
Cons: It was the first time in my life that I stayed in a room with no windows. The hotel is great but they cannot sell a room with no windows without prior information. I also criticize booking as the reservation was made in the platform and I had no prior knowledge

Pros: The staff is great and the renovation has done a good job of preserving the grandeur of the old hotel.
Cons: Something lighter than a duvet for the bed, but I know that is the trend with all hotels. Guess they want their guests to roast.

Pros: Amazing location beautiful rooms and incredible bathrooms
Cons: A bit expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and the rooms, though functional were very well and thoughtfully equipped and quiet. I loved the popcorn and chocolate, thank you that's just what I wanted at the end of a tough working day while I waited for my lovely bath to fill.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't to the standard I was expecting from this hotel. It was good but could definitely be better by using good quality ingredients. I had eggs benedict one morning and smoked salmon bagel the following. Although both were fine, I've definitley had better in many other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, this hotel was probably my favorite of any hotels I have ever stayed in.
Cons: No, the hotel was incredible.

7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast although replenishing the bread board seemed to be an issue.
Cons: We booked a superior king room with walk-in shower which we did not get. However they did compensate with a late check-out. We travelled by Eurostar so stayed at the hotel twice, going and coming back. The first room had a walk-in shower and only lukewarm water and hardly any water coming from the sink- room on fifth floor. On the second visit the room was larger and more comfortable but with an irritatingly squint shower over the bath - room on ground floor.

Cons: Unfortunately every time I stayed in the hotel is worse than before, this year I stayed 4 times and every time I find it worse before !! For example:- 1- Upon arrival at 12:30 pm, the reception refused to hand me over to the room. I know check in must be 2 pm but my room ready why not give to me !?! 2 - the reception asked me a visa card (for deposit, I tried to pay cash but refused Im explain to him my point that I can not put the visa card but strongly refused to pay cash and insisted on taking the visa !! 3 - The price for breakfast 21 £ when booking from the restaurant, but when booking from the reception price 18 £ when I decided in the morning to pay through the reception was refused ! I can not pay only when the check that I can not change my mind !! 4 - I had 3 rooms in the hotel and one of them for the disabled I asked her an extra bed was rejected due to of security reason ! (After that the hotel manager enters and solves the problem) 5-Noise noise noise !! The hotel puts DJ in the lobby late at night !! (All people can go to the disco or bar if they want to I dont know why they need annoyed guests by hotel mangment !!

Pros: I was so looking forward to staying at this hotel because of the location and its boutique style but I was so disappointed in my room and more so the price I was charged to stay in what I can only describe as a prison cell shoe box. I paid £494 for 1 night. This did not include breakfast, it had no Tea or coffee facilities in the room because that is how small the room was, yet it had an espresso machine hidden in a wardrobe area so that area could have been utilized for a small kettle and full tea/coffee facilities. Even the Premier Inn make room for such amenities. To get a hot drink you had to walk down a corridor from your room to a pantry. Early on a morning and before a shower means you have to get ready just to go and get a refreshing morning drink to suit your personal choice. The bathroom had no area for me to put my wash or make up bag, I had to put down the toilet seat to place these whilst I was using the mirror to get ready. The pillows were so soft that your sleeping with your head on the mattress and for this boutique price tag, you most certainly should have the option of a firm or soft pillow. You could not swing a cat in this room and was so difficult opening a large suitcase to get your belongings out every time , then close it up just to have some floor space. The room overlooked the roof of Kingscross and had no view whatsoever. Whilst the room was quiet and the reception staff were very nice and accommodating by allowing me early access to the room as it was ready before normal check in, overall I felt ripped off with such a huge price tag and I would never stay at this hotel again. When paying such a high price tag for 1 night you dont feel the need to question the hotel in anyway and trust that it would meet this price level however I took it upon myself to review further due to my disappointment to find that on other nights they sell these rooms online for as little as £199. I would never book here again !

Pros: Location
Cons: Room v small and gloomy. Wardrobe laughable. No robe and slippers. Window would not open. Bed uncomfortable. I was upgraded, goodness knows what the original was like! Food poor, used to be good, chef must have changed. High cost for facilities. MyMarriott Bon Voyage card did not work.

Pros: The location was great, especially if you catching the train across the road. Very conviennent for that. The place was pristine clean, which I appreciated a lot. And the staff were fantastic, so kind and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: The room didn’t have a kettle or tea but there is a pantry down the hallway that provides tea and the kettle. It’s just a matter of how you feel about that. Otherwise, beautiful room.

Pros: We were only there for an overnight after a long haul flight, but found the hotel to be comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The staff were considerate and helpful when we encountered a problem with our room.
Cons: The first room we were allocated had a pungent smell which meant we simply couldn't stay in it. We were then moved next door, only to find that once the window had been closed the same smell built up in the room. We only discovered this after an evening in the bar with our son, so were eventually moved at 11.30pm to an upgraded room. All a bit inconvenient, but the problem was well handled by staff and we eventually got a comfortable night's sleep.

Cons: At check-in, we were urged to pay in USD (and sign for it). However, the exchange rate was extremely high and we were charged an additional 3%. For US tourist, pay in Pounds! Also, the food in the hotel restaurant was a bit overpriced.

Pros: GOOD
Cons: One staff at reception was unfriendly when i asked her about the access card was not working for lounge. I needed to take tea or breakfast. But rather than helping, she asked me to bring identity card etc. I had no time, so i left the hotel without breakfast. In the evening someone else helped me and urgently checked the card and rectified problem. I am surprised, if card was not working why the staff needed to see once again my passport etc which was in the room and i needed extra time to go to room and bring the passport to show her. when my card already was issued for the room, but had some issue at lounge access.

Pros: Locating
Cons: 1) We’ve booked Deluxe Queen room with city view. As a result I’ve got a corner room Nr. 572 with a view to the courtyard brick walls from two sides just in front of us. 2) Be aware that there are construction works in the hotel till the end of the year. Therefore for example we woke up on Saturday morning at 7 am because of some construction works in the yard. They stopped only after the call to the reception. 3) The breakfast area is very dirty. The waiters while cleaning the tables just swipe everything to the floor. Also they clean the table from dirty dishes and bring your cup of coffee holding it on the top with the same hands. The staff is not aware of hygienic requirements at all. I would give only 3 star rating to the hotel and would recommend Hilton to remove its label from the hotel name cause it misleads the clients promising the Hilton standard even in 4 star hotel.

Pros: Not much
Cons: The room was terrible. It was badly designed and very difficult to stay in. The bathroom was not only badly designed but dangerous to use. The bath was too high and almost impossible to get in and out of for a shower. There were inexplicably several completely unnecessary steps along the corridor which were difficult to manoveur a suitcase over and no staff to help bring up bags or take you to your room. The check in staff member wrote our room number so badly in our key folder that we went to the wrong room and had to go all the way back down to reception to get clarification for the room number. In the room the television didn't work properly and therr was no information about how to use the facilities. I had to guess how to call housekeeping cause although there was a card next to the phone there was no number on it. The room was designed so there was only one major blinding overhead light - no lamps or reading lights - so when one of us wanted to sleep the other had to sit in complete darkness. Add to that even in the day we had to have the blinds drawn because the windows looked out on a filthy alley with several drunkards leering up at the windows so we were always gloomy or over lit. There was no attempt to soundproof the windows and we were kept up most of the night by the constant loudspeaker from Warren street station announcing it was closed or closing or evacuating.. Plus all the police and ambulance sirens. It was all small irritations but considering how expensive this hotel was it all added up to a very poor stay. When we checked out no one even asked us how our stay was or if everything was OK.. Cause honestly they clearly didn't care.

Pros: The staff was very nice and courteous, and the property was clean. The English Breakfast was very big, and provided many options, including vegetarian options, which was nice. Check in and check out were quick and efficient.

The Grafton, part of Edwardian Hotels London, is the perfect base from which to explore famous London attractions, such as Regents Park, London Zoo, Madame Tussauds, Oxford St, Charlotte St, and the British Museum all of which are minutes away. The hotel itself merges incredible history - it was the home of the Aston Martin Owners Club - with a stylish, contemporary look and feel. The Grafton’s 330 bedrooms include elegant single, double and family rooms, as well as 10 deluxe suites. Thanks to the building's 19th century heritage, no two rooms are the same but they all feature luxurious furnishings, Italian marble bathrooms, 350 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding and down pillows. Cutting edge in-room technology is available, including free high-speed WiFi up to 150mbps on unlimited devices. A 24 hour fitness room is available for guests needing to revitalise while 11 meeting rooms provide a range of spaces to suit anything from 2-150 guests. Steak & Lobster brings together the very best ingredients from land and sea, cooked in a modern, rustic style including succulent rib-eye, flat iron and sirloin steaks grilled however you want them, lobster steamed or chargrilled with lemon and butter, a mouth-watering range of freshly-made salads and toasted brioche rolls. Make sure you leave space for unlimited fries and enjoy it with a delicious cocktail from the bar. During the day, guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the restaurant's comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It is also a few minutes’ walk to Euston mainline station and prestigious London academic institutions UCL, LSE and Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. The Wellcome Trust biomedical research facility, British Library and Fitzrovia's many media companies, are nearby, as is Kings Cross St Pancras’ Eurostar link to Paris and Brussels. 2016/2017 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Winner.
The Goodenough provides 4* accommodation in five historic Georgian townhouses overlooking one of Bloomsburys most attractive garden squares. We blend the traditional with the modern to make the hotel a home away from home for those who wish to enjoy the best the capital has to offer. Our superb central location makes The Goodenough the perfect place to stay - we are close to the British Museum, the British Library and Kings Cross St. Pancras station home of the Eurostar. We form part of the educational charity, Goodenough Trust, and guests can take advantage of the cultural and academic events at Goodenough College. The buildings now occupied by The Goodenough on Mecklenburgh Square were designed as a suite of town houses by Joseph Kay in the early 19th century as part of one of London's most beautiful garden squares. They became a nursing home during the Second World War and were later entirely renovated by Goodenough College to provide guest and visitor accommodation. The buildings were re-opened as Goodenough Club in 2001 by Patron: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and then rebrand to The Goodenough on Mecklenburgh Square in June 2018.

Pros:
Cons: There was a mouse in my room. The night staff has been very nice and had me changing room with a lot of apologies. The hotel was almost full so I got a less nice room than what I had paid of, the staff ensuring me that I would get a nice refund by his boss the day after. I got only 10%!!! Really problems may happen, i don’t mind but at least you do the maximum to have your guest think that you do your best. That is absolutely not what happened in the morning. I felt like having been taken as a fool. And I am not talking about the breakfast where I had to wait ages to get a bowl and before I left the staff have had an argument in front of all the guests. I travel a lot and I have never been treated like this.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great, good location clean.
Cons: Lack of restaurant/bar. My room was a pied a terre so again a bit odd but whatever
People should just be aware of it.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location. The bathroom.
Cons: The room was awkward and was connected to the hotel via an external walkway. The lock didn’t always work, couldn’t get in. The room was hot and stuffy during the day and the aircon couldn’t be altered. It was comfortable at night. The room had floor to ceiling windows on two sides at ground level, so darkness or no privacy.

Cons: The mattress on the bed was very firm. Ok if you like this, but it was too hard for me. The room above has crazy floorboards and we could hear them at night.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast facilities and staff were too. The hotel's location is perfect for my wife and me - since her professional connection is to SOAS and mine is to the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies. Cons: - Toilet was basically almost black in the bottom - Little run down walls and floor carpets due to usage and the age of the hotel - Kind of irritating that the shower head was semi locked to the rail for tall or bigger person that might be an issue

Cons: Carpeting on the "Executive" Sixth Floor is rather worn, and our room - #622 - was large but not as expected. Meaning, I asked for a view window (and there was none!). And the room did not seem like an executive room. However, it was clean, and large, and the bathroom was superb, especially the shower. That said, I will stay again at Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, if I can book Room 627b - which would have been just right for my wife and me, as its painting and decor is much more contemporary and pleasant than Room 622, plus 627b has Two windows (on different walls) both with city views. This room would have made us happy. (Please keep this comment because I mean every word.) NG Young

Pros: Perfect location, around the corner from Russell Square underground and short walk to Euston and Holborn stations if you want to get to another line faster.

Cons: Heating on though it was about 16 degrees outside. No need for it. Made it difficult to sleep and my partner threw a bit of a wobbly trying to turn off the heater thus waking me (and hopefully not others) up.

Pros: I liked the rate when I bought it, about 72GBP/night. I'm a guy traveling on my own and don't spend a lot of time in the room, so... It's clean enough, not REALLY clean. If I had a girlfriend with me, I wouldn't stay here...
Cons: I didn't find out until I got there that the bathroom is shared with 2 other rooms. And that's it's on the third floor with no lift and narrow/steep stairs. And I didn't notice until I got to my next hotel that someone swiped my wireless hotspot (which wouldn't work in the UK anyway) and ear buds (I bought them on the plane and they sucked, so don't care). But I should be thankful they didn't take my laptop, right? Right??

Pros: City centre
Cons: Old rooms and small No coffee kettle No shampoo / soap

Pros: The location is fine and, surprisingly, the noise from the pub wasn't too bad. The bed was comfortable, the locker worked and the room was reasonably big.
Cons: It's quite hot in the rooms (one of the people sleeping there had a fan switched on the whole night pointing at him, so he get the cooler air and the rest of us got the noise), the shower didn't work properly (no hot water would come out, and i tried everything) and the bathroom was quite messy. There doesn't seem to be enough bathrooms/toilets for so many guests. Either the socket in the room or the adapter they sell at the reception is not entirely right (would get a spark plugging and unplugging stuff), and charging 5 pounds for a towel seems a bit excessive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The beds are really comfortable Fan in the room Great location
Cons: The first night, we told the staf that in a shower, the water didn't stop. They said, a little drunk, "yes, we know" and the next morning, the water was still flowing. Not very ecological..

Pros: I likee the location and the resturant was kinda interesting.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that the smell from the restaurant was coming into the room, there were no facilities for eating, unless you were going to the restaurant (not very comfortable because it was full).

Pros: I could see that bathroom was refurbished that was nice.
Cons: Two thing which I wasn't satisfied with were small bed and small locker. Basically this locker was just for the most necessary things. Not for your luggage.

Pros: We were upgraded to the Clarendon from the Lancaster, so please note this review is for the CLARENDON. An excellent location in a lovely, converted old building. Our room at the Clarendon had wonderful floor to ceiling (almost) windows that we could prop open for cool evening air. Fans were provided for a bit of extra circulation which was nice. Staff (bell hop) was very helpful with our luggage and answering questions and was very friendly. He also recognized us later in the evening before we entered the hotel. Shake Shack is just an under-ten minute walk, the theater district is short cab ride away (about £7-15 depending on traffic), but the street the Clarendon is on is quite quiet. Not much traffic noise (foot or vehicle) at all which, considering we had the window open, would have been bothersome.

Pros: We received an upgrade to the Clarendon hotel (a 4 star hotel of the same chain as Lancaster Hotel) upon arrival. The room was really very big and the bed comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large bathroom with bathtub, fresh towels and nice shower gel. The room was equipped with a not so new furniture but it was well kept. Boiler and tea were provided as well as TV, stereo and a large desk. The hotel is really in an excellent position (3 minutes by feet from the British Museum) and you can basically walk to several London's attractions. Also, it is at walking distance from two metro stations.

Pros: Excellent location for Russel Sq & Holburn tube stations. Nice quiet location. Accommodation is clean and well presented. Staff are polite and helpful. Basically what was advertised was delivered.
Cons: Carpet a little bare at edges of room but was clean. Bed was a little hard but this is personal opinion and could suite other peoples expectations. No lounge bar facility, but could use sister hotel across the road. Communal shared (Toilet) on 3rd floor, not really what I am used to but was clearly advertised in the hotel description with two toilets provided close to room.

Cons: The room was a bit dusty as well as the carpet. Also, the room was overheated and we discovered that the radiator in the bathroom had a handle broken so could not be turned off. Moreover, both the window in the bathroom and in the room could not be properly closed so I guess it terribly cold in winter. The floor was creaking under our feet and also the bed was not so stable. I am also disappointed that there are no fridges in the room. At least a water dispenser on each floor would make life easier.

Pros: Location
Cons: Noise, no toilet in the room, old windows that allow cold air through, size of bed, and overall value the money.

Pros: Good night's sleep and friendly staff. Will definately be back.

Pros: how big the hostel is and the quiet court rooms, washing/drying facilities and the general cleanliness. All the staff were very friendly and helpful all big personalities
Cons: The Kitchen.. is not open until 1pm each day. and during the evening it is almost impossible to cook as its obviously too small for the amount of people who are staying in the hostel every night, its been time for an upgrade for a long time. This was my second stay a year apart and the same problem is still present

Pros: Clean bathrooms. Surprisingly comfy mattress. Good wifi
Cons: Cell rooms are claustrophobic, no windows, no ventilation. Whole hostel has no ventilation, so it has a funny smell. Staff not so helpful.

Everything I need can be found in this hostel, such as a printer, a study room, etc. I even found a book of Inca and Maya civilization, which extremely and pleasantly surprised me!
Cons: The 4-bed room I lived is rather small---difficult to accommodate several big suitcases. Another problem is your roommate---a snorer can be a disaster! I used to choose the mix room, but the ladies' room will be my first choice in the future. It is so easy to come across a male roommate snoring, while this hardly happens among female roommates. This is not the fault of the hostel, but just the experience I got.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, free storage room, and free breakfast incuded in my room price.

Pros: The reception area was pretty cool, I liked the couch and the fact it was so close to the train station (approx 10min walk)
Cons: Where to start. - staff weren’t very friendly, they weren’t horrible but they could of definitely improved on their customer service skills. - the rooms were so tiny you couldn’t stand in there, I was in a room with 7 other people and it was physically impossible for more than 3 people to stand at once. - there were no fans or aircon or any sort of ventilation in the rooms. - I got bitten by something each night, I’m assuming bed bugs as I was left with little red bites all over my body. - the en-suite was unusable unless your the size of a 10yo child - the shared showers were disgusting, not clean, water sprayed out in all different directions, only run for 30 second intervals and was COLD. There was mould all over the walls and paint peeling off the roof. - the bar and kitchen area were ok but smelt terrible and there was NO social vibe at all in the area. Was very disappointing. - the area around the hostel, was dirty, uninviting and I did not feel safe.

Cons: The bar staff were super slow, told me to take a seat. Chatted for 5 minutes, brought me a menu, I wait 10 minutes for my order to be take and then, got frustrated and left.

Cons:
5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to Euston station
Cons: Awful room number 555. Very cramped. Bathroom didn’t appear finished eg. Nowhere to hang towels. No heating in bathroom so towels didn’t dry. Terrible drainage and loud gurgling noises when I assume any other nearby rooms emptied sinks, had showers, flushed loos. Extractor fan stayed on for approx 30 mins very loud. Window overlooks HS2 building site which is incredibly noisy from very early in the morning. All in all AVOID room 555. I expressed this at reception they asked how I slept - told them I didn’t - and was met with ‘oh dear...’.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, 2 minutes walk from Euston Station. Small, well presented rooms. Helpful staff. Easy & quick check in.
Cons: Rooms are quite noisy, both from other residents & noise from outside. breakfast was very average & expensive. Public areas near the reception/entrance look a bit run down.
7.9 Good
Pros: central location a few minutes away from high streets. friendly staff and clean room were also welcome. Check-in check-out process very fast
Cons: maybe the breakfast area was not really appealing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff are very friendly
Cons: A few minor things that could be done to give it a 10 across the board - mainly some updates/DIY
6.2 Good
Pros: The staff were very pleasent and efficient, rooms were OK for London
Cons: Unfortuantley the hotel is undergoing renovation at present although there were no sounds of this you could see it, the rooms were tired and needed painting and renovation, the reception was very old fashioned and basic. The breakfast was basic and the breakfast room was functional but I hope that once its all finished it will look and feel a different place.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very comfy bed
Cons: Poor hygiene and cleanliness standards
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was very comfortable despite being a small single bed
Cons: The hallway carpets are terribly stained and unsightly. There was a delivery to the hotel at 3am which was extremely noisy! This should be planned better. This was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever seen.

Pros: Good kitchen and breakfast
Cons: Some shower cabins not in good condition
6.7 Good
Pros: Location and overall cleanliness
Cons: Room key would not work 3 or 4 times....so back to reception each time. Light in room very difficult to turn off. Bed price increased for extended stay. Large queues often at reception, espec at the few times when only one person on reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly - this is my third stay here. When I am traveling alone in London and want to keep it on the cheap side I always stay here.
Cons:

9.1 Excellent
Pros: The hostel was very clean. The bathrooms were cleaned every few hours. There was a nice mix of travelers, young and old, people travelling in groups and lone travelers. There were also young families and babies. Lots of people ,lots of activity.
At night ,there was added security in the building.
I was very happy with the Generator Hostel.
Cons: The mornings were rough .You had to time it right to get a sink in the bathroom. Everyone seemed to need the showers at the same time. You just have to try to avoid the busy times.
9.6 Excellent

amazing location, close to Holborn as well as Tottenham Hale Station (15 min walk)
Cons: beds are especially for tall people too small (app. 1.90)
at 11 pm suddenly some works caused quite some noise for several minutes (i.e. if you want to sleep early may be impossible)

Pros: Location and security are good. Also fairly clean facilities.
Cons: Bed in 15 bed dormitory was only 180 cm long. There could be more toilets.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The situation was fine, nice area. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The breakfast was terrible, just nutella and butter sandwiches. The matress was a very thin foam layer.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location n proximity to the london tube
Cons: The rooms stink as there isn't proper ventilation specially in the basement areas where most of the rooms are located. Beds are cramped up and not a place with people who would are claustrophobic.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: I spent the first night with a drunk guy at the top of my bunk bed. They have these triple bunk beds and I was in the bed in the middle. The drunk guy cursed the whole night and I was afraid that the guy would puke at any time. We had a reservation for 6 nights, but we only stayed 2. We couldn't find anything for the night right after. Surprisingly, the second night was better. But we still left. From what we saw, the guests to this hostel are a mix of young travellers and local older alcoholic (or drug-addicted) people. Probably this was an isolated event, but with the population they have, It is probably that events like this can happens regularly.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, quiet in the dorm. Good lounge area but kitchen is small.

Pros: The price was good.
It's close to the train station.
Cons: Avoid the breakfast at all cost! It's not worth it at all: bad coffee, terrible toast, lack of any pastry, and you have to pay extra for scramble eggs.
The location is not good neither to take the tube.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The only thing i liked about it, it is close to Russel square underground station
Cons: Stuff unfriendly, rooms are unclean with bad view and some electric power sources are not working, WiFi is not available in the rooms and i have to go down to restaurant to get a signal. Breakfast was of very low quality
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: First room had extensive mold in bathroom. Bed linen was old and worn, hallways smelled of dampness. I have pixs which night manager was not interested in seeing and was VERY RUDE! No living person should have been put there!! Next room was ok. Breakfast was very limited and crowded and noisy. U had to pay extra £5 for eggs and bacon, usually cold.
We were told hotel chain was biggest in Europe and I’ll add WORSE in Europe. Will never book hotel on internet again because I had no recourse to get my money back!!! I will only call hotel directly and pay AFTER my stay , so if I’m not happy I can go elsewhere.
PS, hotel dining room resembled “Grade school cafeteria, hall pass was issued that you had to show to get in”

Pros: Good location for my London visit and good value for central London.
Cons: Room was very, very basic. No towels had to go to reception, no TV remote had to go to reception. Radiator couldn't be turned down or off, had to sleep with window wide open to cool room. Mould on shower curtain.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Carpets dirty and sticky in room. No towels available
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good. I was there for 2 weeks which was a long time. My view was that I just needed a bed and a place to leave my things so this worked out ok.
Cons: Its not very clean and the walls are thin so you get woken up by people often. But it's the cheapest thing in London by far.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: It was very grubby and dirty. The shower was filthy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good thanks.
Cons:
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything else! First room I was put in the whole floor was soaking wet, I went to reception to inform them, they just handed over another key, it was like they knew it was inhabitable! 'nicer' room sheets and sink looked clean, floor was filthy and there was a very off putting smell. Common areas were very dirty, I didn't hang around only stayed to sleep.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location It was so bad there was almost nobody there so I didn't have to share the bathroom
Cons: The bed was atrociously uncomfortable. The springs penetrated through a paper thin mattress which sat on top of a poorly built metal frame. Smelled like damp fungus Stains on walls and carpet probably there since WW1
3.3 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: Room was not clean. En suite bathroom was not clean. Hotel smelled of damp. Wi-Fi did not work. Staff were not overly helpful or accommodating. Needless difficulties at check in. Staff attempted to persuade me to accept a basement room. Would not book again.
4.2 Okay
Pros:
Cons: Not sure why the rooms and public areas cannot be painted and cleaned. Shocking place in a brilliant location.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Staff were pleasant and the location was great.
Cons: The interior decor was very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment.
