Dom Jose Beach Hotel

The location - 29 steps from the gates of the hotel to the beach. The breakfast buffet, what was on offer gathered for everyone's taste buds. The sea view - breathtaking.

We felt that our room was a little on the small side. Also, like some other guests we had some ants in the bathroom. Seemingly, according to one of the staff at reception this only happens when there is food in the room but we did'nt have any.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved the location of the hotel.

I didn’t like the fact that the cleaners of our room came at different times every day, sometimes in the morning sometimes lunchtime and sometimes late in the afternoon. So we never knew when was the best time to be out of the room. We came back to relax in our room at 5 o clock one day and it still wasn’t done. I also don’t like the fact that we only got a welcome gift of tea and coffee. We had to go and buy our own. The price of the hotel should be enough to cover tea and coffee in our room every day like most other hotels do.

Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We also had a buffet dinner one night which was lovely. Excellent location right on the beach. Shops and restaurants all around. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Gym had good equipment. Room and hotel were clean and modern and cosy. The hotel pool is a lot better in real life than it looks in the pictures.

The gym could do with a water fountain! Oh, and it could definitely open earlier than 8am! There was nowhere to dry/hang beach towels in our room as we didn't have a balcony and there were no drying racks. The pool area and loungers were hosed down in the morning and with the sun not getting there till later, they were always wet. We spent every day on the beach (which was what we preferred anyway), however, think it's a bit too pricey to have to spend 13/15 euros every day for sun loungers on the beach. The hotel has a dedicated area, and I think the most they should charge is 10 euros.

Extra comfy bed, lovely view to the seafront, could hear the waves at night!

The cost is a little high!
