The location is great. It’s just across from the church and 5-10 minute walk to shopping areas.
Kitchenware and cutlery are offered, but they’re used and not very clean. The facility in the bathroom is also used and not very easy to use.
Its a great location and the room was decent and clean. Nice guests and easy to check in. Very good value for money ( aside from the extra expenses incurred due to having to move out, wash and find an alternate sleeping location. I was bitten by bedbugs, and actually found them in my bed on the third night. I suffered an allergic reaction on my face and fingers which is very painful. I felt like the owners weren't very concerned about me and the trouble I had to go through to wash and dry my clothes and luggage to ensure that I didn't transmit the bugs back to the US. Great location in Reykjavík centre and good price. Well equipped kitchen and friendly owners.

The location is wonderful, right next to church! The room wasn’t huge, but was big enough, it had a bed, table, chair, dresser, one small table next to bed. The kitchen was pretty big, very organized and had all kitchenettes, every room had its shelf in fridge and in cabinets. So much free stuff that other guests left before leaving, other guests are free to use it. The owners were always in touch...
It wasn’t super clean on stairs/hallways/even rooms: layers of dust and dirt in every hard-accessible place (under the beds, on lamps, on heaters etc.) The walls are pretty thin. It’s very noisy in early mornings when people go outside or to airport and having breakfast downstairs. You can hear every word and every dish bump. So bring with you a pair of earplugs.Read more
Altogether an excellent place! The room was warm enough, bed was comfortable and the shower clean and nice and hot! Kitchen was well equipped, and check-in check-out was very simple.
Good location. Had everything we needed. Nice and cosy.
The stairs weren't our favourite as we were placed on the top level and both of us had a 24kg suitcase (as we were travelling for a month). Dragging it up and down wasn't fun at all.
The guesthouse is perfectly located in the centre, close to everything and beside the bus stop for tour pickups which was great in the cold mornings. The kitchen is fully equipped and really organised, as is the place in general, and we found the staff very accommodating and helpful. Our room was really spacious, warm, and the bed was so comfortable!
The combination box was a bit tricky to open but we never ran into a problem with it.

Very authentic old building, room was clean, warm and cosy despite weather outside was absolutely terrible (it was Jan when I stayed). Great location, It's possible to get by foot everywhere in the city center. Convenient commuting to airport - just 10 min walk to bus terminal.
Just be aware this is pretty old building, with narrow stairs and tiny bathrooms. It was not a problem at all, just for information.
