Cairns hotels near Cairns Historical Society Museum

Cons: During our stay the towel was not very clean coz I saw three times the hair in the towel.

Cons: This hotel is not representative of the Shangri-La group, and I struggle to see how it maitains a 5-star rating. The showerdid not drain properly, grit between the shower tiles is black in places, the fan is chipped, carpet stained, phone's "quick dial" buttons did not work, and the room is old and dated and sparsely furnished.

Cons: pool furniture showed some signs of wear.

Cons: Breakfast service was $20 and most of the buffet choices were unappetizing; the omelettes and French toast prepared on request by the chef were pretty good but overall there are likely better options around Cairns. The pool was really nice but closed unusually at 8pm.

Cons: Wifi reception was poor in the rooms.

Cons: WIFI/Internet service in need of serious upgrade!!!! Service was slow & spotty, often requiring multiple attempts to connect. Location is a bit away from downtown Cairns.

Cons: Many people prefer hotels with sand beaches for their rather than mudflats. Loyalty club does not seem to give members better prices than you can find on internet.

Cons: Beds were small - double!

Cons: We like to play the piano. If would be really cool to have one available.

Cons: Outdoor area between rooms a bit run down.

Cons: On site restaurant was expensive and required to eat food onsite. Wish we could have packed our food for our GBR trip since it was such an early launch.

Cons: The buffet breakfast that came with the room was more than a "little tired." It was fast asleep. The pancakes and waffles were mealy and inedible. The so-called sausages were mini-hot dogs. The "to order" section was grossly understaffed so lines were long waiting for eggs to order.

Cons: Smelt awful & found a large bug in my bed

Cons: They gave disable room with garage view , no transportation and no room service even when I checkin at 1130 pm . Shame when the hotel was empty. They need to learn some management hospitality.

Cons: Expensive parking, lots of mold on the AC vents

Cons: Evidently the room had just been "refreshed" however the bathroom was extremely dated with cheap metal fittings that reminded me of my early days in the Army. The layout of the room was bizarre to say the least so much so that you would have to turn your head 90 degrees to watch the TV from the bed. The air conditioning is pre-set to 25 degrees Celsius which in the wet season is not sufficient and the room is hot, this is not an acclimatization issue as we are from North Queensland and we found it oppressive to the point we had to have both the fan and air conditioning on at the same time to be comfortable.

Cons: Very very dated needs complete Reno. Plus they must not look up when they clean. All the vents and doors were sooo dirty We stayed in a two bedroom condo which could have been wonderful expect the furnishings were so old and made everything feel so unclean. Plus 6 nights and no new towels etc. wifi slow or non If privately own condos they shouldn't rent people's who aren't updated as $200 per night and it was 2 star only

Cons: The rooms, especially the bathrooms are a bit dated. It would be a good idea for the hotel to go through a remodel. But it was clean and everything worked, just needs to be brought out of the 90s.

Cons: CONS: - Quite noisey due to the location being right in the heart of the city. We used earplugs which helped us to sleep. - I'm not a huge fan of the king size bed being two singles pushed together, although I know this is what a lot of hotels do. - It's nothing fancy - our windows were just shutters with lots of bird poop outside! - Wifi is not free, but I think there's free wifi outside on the streets.

Cons: We were there for 13 nights, so the cleaning of the rooms was minimal. Garbage removal and clean towels every day, clean bedding every 3 days, but If we wanted the floors swept we had to do it ourselves.

Cons: Meh. Spartan, to say the least. The beds were very uncomfortable and the A/C made a lot of noise, but barely cooled the room. The rooms were pretty worn and shabby. The breakfast lady was guarding the place like the queen's crown jewels were under the towel, but it was nothing more than 2 or 3 different kinds of packaged, sliced bread and a couple of jam packets. There was milk and juice and water, though, and a couple of different kinds of breakfast cereal. No fruit or biscuits or muffins or anything else that would normally be included with a continental breakfast. Very limited, cramped parking. However, we didn't pay that much for the room, so in all I think it served its purpose for the night. Probably wouldn't stay there again unless I was alone and just needed a cheap place to crash. Think of it as a Hostel and you won't be disappointed when you walk in. Be advised that a "Family Shared Room" doesn't mean just that the family all sleeps in one room (which was fine) but also means that you are sharing a bathroom with about 4 other rooms.
