8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, beautiful room, good view, full of facilities.
Cons: We arrived after their check-in time but still waited for the room ready about 2 hours. What worse is that after making payment with the staff (which was asked to do before check-in), we were being left at the lobby without any explanation. Nobody told us what happened and why we could not go to our room. Overall, their room service were perfect, but staff at front-desk could do better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very polite and obliging. Love the hotel library! Beds were very comfortable and the room was kept sparkling clean and very welcoming. The room is very elegantly designed with dark hardwood floors. Staff paid attention to detail...even lit candles for us.
Cons: Hot water wasn’t too hot and had to have a pillowcase changed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The fact that they took care of the very little details. They had a "welcome back" tray with the welcoming amenities. Very good breakfast, and my mother in law loved the hotel as it was sparkly clean.
Cons: A bit noisy as we were facing the lagoon (so the door was facing the street). The rest were very good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good with wide options.
Cons: None
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Very helpful and Friendly staff. Nice room.
Cons: The high tea was over rated and too expensive. There are many hawkers and food outlets nearby and I strongly suggest you have your meals outside than in the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service excellent!
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location and beautifully furnished suite. Everything was perfectly placed and tasteful done. Great location and the restaurant had an excellent Nyonya buffet on Fridays
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Nice hotel staff (excluding the restaurant in the morning) - Nice environment (cosy and quiet) - Excellent location (5 mins walk to Jonker street) - Very comfortable room, bath facilities, good availability of TV channels (except for ChannelNewsAsia) - Very comfortable library - Good housekeeping, concierge and reception service - Nice infinity pool (though only 1.2m in height, not suitable for swimming many laps) + nice couple style poolside lounge benches
Cons: Breakfast- quite poor for a 5 star hotel. 1) Staff never asked me for room number to clarify if I were a hotel guest 2) No egg station available (no option for fried/scrambled/boiled/omelette - only realised later that it could be ordered through alacarte menu but this was never brought forth to my attention in the first place and I didn't notice any guests were offered or eating any form of egg dish 3)Restaurant staff (in the morning) didn't seem friendly and helpful. Had to remind them to clean my table, bring paper napkins ++ (hotel staff were more hospitable++) 4)Coffee was brewed by machine, poor quality 5)SAFETY HAZARD - they made guests handle boiling soup and hot pots on their own - guests were expected to cook their own noodles soup dish for breakfast if they wanted. There was no signage available or offer of help from the staff. One child even wanted to attempt cooking the dish on his own and was thankfully stopped by his mother. 5)Spread was ok (had room for improvement), they could do better especially in terms of availability of beverages - the Malay cuisine was good. For my next visit: I would rather pay a cheaper room rate without breakfast included :P Much better coffee and breakfast fare in Jonker St
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect location by the river - staff was amazing ( guy at the pool - CT at the spa) wonderful rooms with lovely details
Cons: for top notch there was a lack of professionalism and breakfast was quite ordinary and disappointing but absolutely the best hotel in Melakka

Cons: nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Room deco
Cons: Old construction. Small size. Facilities small.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast decent. And nice of them to put a bolster with a cover that says "Happy Birthday" on the bed and some red drapes on the door entrance. Though a little impersonal was the feeling.
Cons: The drainage system in room is noisy and the taps leak. Needs to keep closing tight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The public spaces were warm and welcoming, the room was comfortable and well appointed, and the people were warm and friendly. We had a wonderful stay, right on the river and near the town center but in a quieter location. From the yummy breakfast to the bedtime sweet, service was thoughtful throughout our stay. Highly recommend.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love this hotel, so charming and in a great location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was huge and really comfortable. Service staff were really hospitable. They showed us to our room and served us tea in person upon arrival.
Cons: The pool was smaller than expected. One waiter served milk from guests who have just finished breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and they called me by my name. Room was super nice and comfortable, welcome tea is a warming welcome. It's a 15 minute walk to the city, where the attractions are. So, you can walk around without needing any transportation if you are in Melaka. The spa is a must.
Cons: Breakfast, I was expecting more, maybe a vegetarian curry to eat with pratha. (like other hotels in Malaysia, it would be super nice, if they prepare the pratha on demand just for you, instead of preparing in advance).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second time to visit and was still so cozy and authentic.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to Malacca places of attraction since hotel located at Banda Hilir. It only take like 5 to 15 minute travelling by car depending on location. Hotel is super clean and the reception staff by the name Cass is so friendly and very helpful. If this your 1st time at Malacca she definitely can give you good advise. Other staff as well very warm and make you feel welcomed. It worth the stay here.
Cons: Limited parking space. Hotel opposite and beside 2 school so if you are travelling during school days please observe your time it can be quite jammed during this hour as some parents just park infront hotel while waiting for children. There is no breakfast provided at the moment so you need to look for breakfast but shouldn't be problem as area surrounding with good food places.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient place, walking distance from major malls. Staff were very friendly and helpful!! (thumbs up for the extra mile to get our request!) Room was spacious, and the apartment has 2 toilets (usually 1 apartment with 2 rooms comes with only 1 toilet and we have to take turns). Overall a good experience.
Cons: The floor was not swept clean as we can feel some particles when we walk around the room.

Cons: Parking was to small

Ringo's Foyer Guest House - Hostel - Malacca - Bedroom

6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast included, and it was good. The vibe at the hostel is really cool, and is easy to make new friends in the rooftop. They do bike tour every day at 6.15pm, we visit the floating mosque at sunset time (beautiful). Party hostel with few volunteers living in, but not noisy at all.
Cons: They should wash the blankets, all of them were stinky. Mattress is worst than sleeping in the floor, probably had 25 or more years.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Very well run by Howard and the volunteers, Carolina, Ryan, Claire, Lara, Eugene, Matt and others (sorry if I didn’t name you but you were all fabulous) were so welcoming and lots of fun too! Special place in Malacca! Wouldn’t solo travel anywhere else!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff helpful
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! First of all at least two cleaners we're going around every day, the place was clean so that's massively comforting. The showers and toilets always clean too. When we arrived late, later than expected, the owner Howard was not only super smiley at 1am, he was also insistent on giving us a tour around the whole hostel before showing us to bed. Although we booked for two beds, he gave us a double in the dorm. Which I’d highly recommend if you're a couple! All the staff and volunteers we're super friendly, we got along with them all so well! They took us to places for dinner and we're on hand to help us with anything we needed. The rooftop was cool, we spent many sociable evenings up there. Also during the day we even painted on one of the walls - awesome. Location is within walking distance to everything you need, we also enjoyed the bike tour to the floating mosque from the hostel. Howard even organised for us to visit his friends tattoo studio and for my partner to have a lesson (as he's learning), he really went out of his way to ensure we were having the best possible time we could from start to finish. The TV room, ‘the library’ was cool too, to chill out and watch a film or even play guitars! The breakfast was lovely, although as we stayed up late on the rooftop socialising every night, we only had it a couple of times. Really not much to fault about Ringo’s, possibly the best hostel we’ve stayed in on our travels and can only wish to visit again. If you visit, which you should, try keep Eugene up all night - shouldn’t be too difficult. See you again sometime guys :)
Cons: Only comment I can make, which is so so minor, is that the showers are located in a slightly awkward position within the cubicle. Didn’t really affect our stay though, just maybe something to note!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pods in the dorm are lovely! So quiet and comfy. Lots of clean bathrooms, never had an issue with them being all in use. Great rooftop chill area! It's definately a good place to stay for solo travelers!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Never judge the outside of the building until you walk in ! Ringos was lovely !!!
Cons: It took us a bit more time to find Ringos. The Sign maybe needs to be freshly painted or bigger juuuust so we can see it !!! But amazing nonerheless
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice staff, good location, nice breakfast, cheap beer and nice rooftopbar/chill areas
Cons: Bedsheets not clean, dirty bathrooms
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Located 2-4 minutes walk from Jonker Street. Literally located a street behind Jonker Street. Check in was a swift too. Guy named Matt who checked us in was super friendly and easy going. Pretty basic sleeping dorm. Bed, showers, open-air rooftop. Street parking is available but you'd have to pay. All in all, was excellent.
Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A bright, friendly hostel with staff who are wonderful. Howard makes you feel at home. Special shoutout to Eugene who makes you immediately feel like you’re among friends. The atmosphere is great and there is plenty to do/advice given. Also centrally located. Main dorm is modern with big lockers, other dorms were a little older. Had an AC issue but this was solved straight away, no fuss.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Nice staff. Had a very nice rooftop area. Owner was a very pleasant chap!
Cons: Wifi was shockingly bad. The bed cubbys got very hot. Air con gets turned off in the room at 10am. The cleaner cleaned the bathroom area right as everyone was trying to get ready to check out around 10am & didn’t let anyone come in. Timing wise that was a very awkward time to clean when everyone trying to shower/brush teeth.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast spread was extensive.
Cons: It didn’t live to the standards of Hilton. Our room was dusty and there were strands of hair at every nook and cranny of the room. There was even a ball of hair beneath the glass door to the toilet cubicle. Our room was not ready till past 3pm.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Spacious room, friendly staff.
Cons: The room has a bad smell. The bed is too soft, causing back pain. The electric kettle is missing. The shower and toilet door has got sharp edges, not safe, can cause injury if not careful.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff at the front desk at ground floor was friendly.
Cons: The bathroom was not completely cleaned. The towels were dirty, like used. We have to asked for bottles of ware on the second day. Please do a better job to keep up with the good name of Hilton.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Love the buffet selections for Lunch and during breakfast at Makan Kitchen. Restaurant Staff were all very attentive and trying very best to accommodate every guests request.
Cons: My room. My room initially was booked for Twin Deluxe guest room and requested for room with bathtub, I was told they don’t have bathtub available for Deluxe Twin, then I decided to upgrade my room to king. while confirming the reservation I only need to pay additional RM50 for the upgrade which is only need to pay RM800+ ,However I ended up paying about RM1k upon arrival. And the room given was not up to my expectations, it was facing the other building. I have called the reception but was waiting for quite a while for them to return my call , since my daughter was hungry we decided to leave the room and expected someone will drop us a message , but negative . I think the team really need to hands-on on resolving guest issues immediately. And another thing is, hskp needs to to be more details in terms of cleaning guest rooms. Dirty tea spoon found on the tray.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s new & well-kept, the rooms are clean & the staff for the most part, are sweet. They were accommodating & happened to have my room early and let me check in which I really appreciated. I enjoyed that it was peaceful & found the pool area to be a nice spot. There’s not a lot going on at the connecting mall but there is a 7 Eleven, thankfully. On the whole, really happy with the stay & found it a serene, clean & comfortable space to be. Will definitely be back if ever in Melaka again.
Cons: - The service can be patchy. Eg I felt the check-in staff on the first day a little smug. Also little things, like: “Are you a Hilton Rewards member?” “No.” “Ok then your room excludes wifi & you’ll have to pay for that separately.” Perhaps a kinder, hospitable way to phrase it would be, “If you sign up as a HH member, you can enjoy complimentary wifi for the duration of your stay.” Perhaps it was all in the delivery & tone. - If you’re having an a la carte breakfast (and made that request known), one would expect the server to walk you to your table with a menu in hand & not leave as if you’re somehow magically going to know what you want. They left & I had to find them for the menu on two different days. They’re all very sweet but need to finesse things with a bit more training so as to anticipate guests’ needs in advance. On the whole I appreciated their good natured personalities & that would be my only piece of feedback to highlight. - Their interpretation of Swiss Bircher muesli is actually oatmeal/porridge with fruit, sans the lemon-infused Apple slices. Perhaps editing this in the menu for the breakfast area would save in any miscommunication.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Wonderful staff.
Cons: nothing so far
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and gym facility. Location is slightly away from center of Malacca (Dataran Pahlawan)but I'm fine with that.
Cons: If we park at level 9, there is no lift to Hilton lobby. As a result, I've to go to level 8 to get the lift. Hope management can find the solution.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and spacious
Cons: No free wifi but advertised as free. Some amenities is by request only.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: TV channels often not available because of connection problem
6.3 Good
Pros: We liked the size of the room and how well plan in terms of space and design. It makes us feel comfortable and at home. My children loves the room and would always ask for this hotel.
Cons: The general maintenance of the room needs to be looked into. The plumbing, the water pressure and water heater all needs to be serviced. It is a new hotel and we are always surprised by things that comes up on every visit. This hotel needs to be more professional in service and delivery. We had problems with the flow of water out of the tub. Drainage problems. When maintenance came in the next day to fix it, they left the room smelling of drainage stench.

Cons: The breakfast café is somewhat small and cramped. The makeshift parking area under the bridge in front of the hotel could use some proper prep work (signboard, tarmac, gate, etc.), although I'm not sure that is allowed by the authorities or not.

When i asked why only 1 staff manning the counter she said her colleague is on her break. The Management should look into this as more staff should be at the checkin & checkout counters during peak time and the staff should take their breaks off peak time.

Lighting is very nice and calming. I like everything about my stay as most of it is provided! Check out was very fast! I just gave the room key and all is done by a few seconds. Im literally not exaggerating and i’d definitely stay here again. Checked in and out with the front desk staff named Najwa. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and goodbye. Till next time!
Cons: The only thing that bothered me is one of the towel provided was torn. Few holes was very visible to the eye. But everything else was so good i couldnt care less about the towel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is about 10mins walk to the main attraction area. There is guardian pharmacy & 7 eleven opposite the hotel. Spacious room, good for family with kids. Super comfortable bed & bolster but pillow abit too soft.
Cons: Swimming pool was out of bound at 9am due to washing/cleaning. My kids waited till 1030am & it is still not done, we had to return to our rooms & swim the next day. Management should have schedule the cleaning at a later timing as usually guest will swim in the morning after having their breakfast.

Overview Reviews
We are an art speciality boutique hotel at the centre of UNESCO’s world cultural heritage site. Strategically located at No. 28 Jalan Tukang Emas (Goldsmith Street) aka Harmony Street, Malacca, Malaysia. To truly reflect its harmony status, it is a diversified place of various settlements -Indian settlement (234 years old Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi temple (1781), Malay settlement (267 years old Kampung Kling mosque (1748) and Chinese settlement (370 years old Cheng Hoon Teng temple (1645) on the same street within 1 to 2 minutes walking distance. Not to leave out the European settlement nearby (504 Years A Famosa Fortress (1511), Christ Church (1753), Stadthuys (1650). Our hotel is an old but well maintained building within the Dutch Settlement area (trace back to year 1611) with unique 200 feet long, thick wall and underground sewerage pipes. It has witnessed the history of Malacca Empire and the modern world. Although it has been refurbished, renovated and re-renovated, yet and surprisingly, it was a lovely home, a trade centre, a factory before it was turned into a hotel. Built with 3 air well areas, you can enjoy any of the hotel rooms (with windows) which are air conditioned and fan equipped. Comfortable duvet, pillows and bed will embrace you upon your check in. Free wifi is also available. A variety of breakfast will be served on each different day while American breakfast is always available upon request. 24 hours 7 days a week of free flow of coffee, tea, RO water, milk, juice, cereals and biscuits are ready to serve you at anytime even at midnight or in the wee hours. Outside the hotel, you will see a different world of modern marvel with delicious nyonya and local food such as cendol or durian puff at famous Jonker Street aka Chinatown (next to Harmony street) and world of ancient art with museums and art galleries at Heeren Street (next to Jonker street). Let’s also enjoy the thrill of visiting the old A Famosa fortress, Stadthuys, ruins of St Paul’s church (1521), Queen Elizeberth fountain or enjoy and stop by at modern Hard Rock Café or the Geographer Café for a drink. All within 5 minutes walking distance from this strategically located hotel. So....Let’s relax and enjoy, refresh and replenish!

Pros: The free drinks and snacks were excellent and a nice treat to have whenever we returned. Location was great, being within the UNESCO area of Melaka. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The coffee wasn't great, I think the machine just needed a service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Friendly and helpful staff - very good location with walking distance to Jonker's street - king's size comfy bed - 24hrs free flow drinking water, variety of coffee, breads, cereals ans biscuits, my kid is enjoying the cereals with hot milk - good simple delicious breakfast - air-cond, ceiling fan and water pressure are well functioning - It is good because of all the rooms are non-smoking rooms.
Cons: Don't have own parking site, you'll need to park at a parking lot, it can be found around this property. You may ask their hotel staff and they will show you the nearest parking space. No lift but staircase.

Pros: Location is great. The staff is very welcoming n guide us very well about the parking.
Cons: The odour of the bathroom .no circulation of the air.
7.5 Good
Cons: ad on booking.com kinda misleading. theres room stated with window and rooms without, and ofcourse with different price. so when you choose ones with windows, you expect to get a view yet you get to see the wall of next building. ad should state "windows with view" and "windows with no view" clearer and surely not misleading
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel decor was amazing. Loved the outdoor cafe morning and evening. Breakfast was very good and the staff friendly
Cons: A couple of times directions from reception staff were confusing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Overall was great ! Place was too beautiful and comfy . Great locations .
Cons: Collecting deposit .
7.1 Good
Pros: I like the receptionists ladies who were very pleasant, courteous, friendly and very helpful. I also like the ambience of the place. The decor was wonderful. I love the access to the back going by the river.
Cons: 1. Hated the parking lot. Everyone was crammed in. There were a couple of people who was really angered with the way the cars were difficult to manoeuvre in & out. We chose not to take our car out at all throughout our stay. But the experience of seeing those angered people were not very comfortable. 2. When we first arrived there was only 1 car park left so we took that. I asked the boy at the reception to confirm whether that was the only parking area and he said -- the parking lots were empty (coz he said he just got back from there). Rule #1: Don't oversell it sounds like he was lying although the intention might not be to lie. 3. The food outlet (Rainforest) took a long while before delivering food. 4. When we had to pay at the Rainforest, we went up to the reception to ask about why do we need to pay for the deposit and still had to pay for the hotel outlet. He explained that the outlet belongs to someone else. And the deposit is to cover anything that we will damage. (I think the script needs to be friendlier).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location nice staff!
Cons: So disappointed to the cafe... looks bad!

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is perfect. We could paint in the walls of the hostel to leave a memory. The owners were very nice and went to buy colours and all.
Cons: The couple's room without window and fan is too hot. We had to upgrade the second night to a room with air con and windows cause whats the point on staying next to the river and not see it from your room. The breakfast is very basic but we are used to that in this kind of hostel and we are not that picky. The bath towels are too small and thin

Pros: The place is really cozy and i feel warm there. The place is nice as it is near the river and the view is beautiful at night.

Pros: The hotel and room furnishings are still new and clean. What I like the most is the hotel provide free access to Sky Deck @ Hatten City where you could enjoy 360 view from 44th floor, day and night! There are restaurants up there that you could dine and chill. The food at He Feng is nice too.
Cons: The swimming pool could be bigger as it was too crowded during my stay (long weekend). Nice for children to play there, but I find it is a little windy.

Pros: Im enjoying my travel with avvilion legacy melaka..service was excellent n make my family n i feel comfortable
Cons: Nothing..alls good
6.0 Good
Pros: the promptness of the staff to cater my needs.
Cons: the variety of food served during breakfast-not much of choice. they even repeat the same menu everyday!
5.7 Okay
Pros: The staff at the front desk was really friendly and polite.
Cons: Parking is a little scary at night.
7.0 Good
Pros: The Avillion commands a panoramic view of Melaka both the busy city centre and Melaka Sentral. It's away from the bustling and crowd of the city centre yet not far away, and the shuttle bus provided is most welcome. Access to lifts to our room is very good.
Cons: I would have no hesitation to recommend to our friends if they want to visit Melaka for a short holiday.
6.0 Good
Pros: It was a plesant stay. Initially, it was difficult to locate the hotel but with GPS coordinates is a piece of cake.
Cons: The security of the carpark could be improved as certain areas were quite dark and quiet especially walking towards the hotel lobby entrance as indicated.
2.4 Mediocre
Pros: We feel cheated by the hotel photo. Worst experience for a 4 star hotel.
Cons: Both rooms (Room 1644 & 1812) had a very unpleasant smell (Carpet) with small and very old 20” CRT TV set and without sun shade curtain for Room 1812. Very poor quality hotel and the lobby is very messy with dining table all over. With that kind of price we paid it is not worth it at all, the hotel should be class under 3 star.
6.4 Good
Pros: Check in time was good. Toilet is still good condition.
Cons: Rooms are starting to show its age. Carpets, curtains and bed covers, wallpapers are old and needs to be changed. Toilet bowl seat is loose. Fridge is not working well.
4.8 Okay
Pros: It was an okay hotel, but definitely should not be rated as a 4-star hotel. Staff were polite but not flexible. For example, the room is for 2 people and they give us 2 bath towels but would not provide us with an extra one on request. Same goes for pillow and blanket (unless you pay, of course). The buffet breakfast was good. There were lots of options for everyone so there's no complain there. The shower uses a cloth curtain and it smells a bit - but I find that to be the case for all hotels that use that kind of curtain. The lighting was not good. I could not read because the room remains rather dark at night even though all the light was on. Overall, I'd say it's a 3-star hotel. But I do believe it is the best on in the area though.
Cons:
6.4 Good
Pros: Good service.
