Avis TulumPros: The car was great for what we wanted.Cons: The Avis representative in Tulum, MX was very difficult to work with at pick up and drop off. Avis offered insurance coverage at three times the total rental rate. My credit card company provides rental car insurance coverage so I opted to decline the Avis coverage. Upon drop off he attempted to find any way to charge us for any prior damage on the vehicle “since you did not pay for insurance.” We took great care of the car and added no additional damage (already had visible scratches and door dings in some places). It was over the top ridiculous!! I am still awaiting my final bill.
Cons: It was like a Seinfeld episode we made the reservation and we went there and they had no freaking car. We spend $50 in cab fare round trip to have no freaking car! Disaster

Cons: I arrived at Alamo to pick up a car I had reserved for 9am. I was told that there was no car available until several hours later and that would depend on if someone returned their rental on time. When I stated that I had a reservation for 9am, the staff member replied, "just because you have a reservation doesn't mean that there will be a car." I'm pretty sure that's actually exactly what it should mean. Save yourself the hassle and avoid Alamo in Tulum.

Pros: The car was goodCons: The staff forced be to pay extra fees and threatened me

Pros: The car was in excellent condition.Cons: There were many hidden fees, including insurance and adding an extra driver. I wish the fees were more upfront. I was quoted 20 but ended up spending closer to 80 for 1 day. They didn't even tell me that it would cost me for an extra driver. I was just charged for it.

Horrendous ServicePros: NoneCons: We showed up at the office to pick up our car and the agent said that even though we had a reservation, there were no cars because they decided to send all of the cars to Cancun. We pointed out we had a valid reservation but he said that doesn't obligate them to hold a car for us if they can rent it at a better price at some other location. He said he couldn't help us and offered no additional assistance.

Rude and no carPros: NothingCons: I arrived just after pick up time and was met by a rude staff member informing me that they have no cars today. After explaining that I had a reservation he just replied; "it doesn't matter there are no car today". So I had to walk around the other rental places and had to pay more.

Pros: nothingCons: we went to budget even though we reserved a car they didnt have any car on hand. we had to take taxi

Cons: They was nobody at the rental office. We waited for an hour to return the car. Nobody showed up.
Cons: There was no Enterprise office at the address given, it was an empty building. I called customer service, and they said they would send someone over. I waited for over an hour in the very hit sun, then gave up and walked to a different rental agency.
Pros: I was scammed, we had made the reservation for 76$ and he told me the car was not available, gave me an even worse car, and then charged me 200$. HE saw that I had to deliver it in Cancun and once I told him I was heading to the airport he scammed me.Cons: If they stick to their prices.

Don’t trust the pick-up timeCons: You book a car at 9am but they provide it at 4pm. Of course you have no info during that time and are just waiting. No one cares in Hertz, not their fault, no discount I do not recommend them at all

No carsPros: Nothing.Cons: Rude service people and no cars to rent.
3.2 Mediocre3 Jan 2017
Cons: I was refused the car on the day of original reservation - "sorry we do not have cars, will bring you one later in the afternoon". No car in the afternoon only the following late morning. Very poor service of Hertz, not even apology, would not recommend to anyone.
Cons: the online reservation and the car rental do not work together at all. I made a reservation online (boojed a car) but when I arrived at the car rental, they told me my reservation is worthless and they don’t even have cars anymore.
Pros: check out was quick with van service to departing airlineCons: -took almost 2 hours to rent the car - car had not been cleaned inside. We found wrappers and bottles -cost of mexican insurance was not disclosed til we were there - credit card hold was not disclosed til we were there - very poor English speaking skills - although we booked with payless, it ended up being a FOX car. We weren't sure this was even the same rental reservation we made til they found us in their computer system. - this was a typical hook and bait scam. The online price for the week was so cheap that we realized something else would be charged, but $457.00 for a week rental? GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I feel totally violated and scammed by this experience.
Pros: Economy Rent a Car is a complete scam. 1. The company where you are supposed to pick the car up isn't called Economy Rent A Car, it's called America Car Rental. 2. They address and name of the location sent in the confirmation email were both wrong. After walking for 45 minutes, I was finally able to reach someone on the phone who told me where I was supposed to go. 3. When I arrived at the America Car Rental company, I was told that they didn't have any cars to rent even though I had a confirmed reservation that was paid. 4. Without contacting anyone, I received an email stating that someone of what I paid had been refunded but not all. 5. I repeatedly questioned why I wasn't being refunded in full and was told via email that this wasn't their policy and that the balance wasn't refundable.Cons: This company is a SCAM, AVOID. They will take your money and not give you a rental car.

Pros: Didnt have car, or anything like it that we reserved. Wouldnt accept the insurance that we purchased for car, nor the insurance we then purchased ont he spot via their agency. Then said we would have to pay 3/4 of the total price of the car for the week EACH DAY, plus leave them 8000$. We left.
