Just look for the transfer bus with Apex on the side. Tassie has very short peakhour periods, easy to get around if you avoid these when travelling around Hobart. Not a lot of people in Hobart, but lots of right hand turns across freeways, causes carnage when traffic builds up. So banking up of traffic can happen in both the left and the righthand lane. Stay in the middle lanes when traffic gets busy if not exiting freeway.

Great price and quality car. The pickup was a little confusing, as the supplied instructions were to call Apex to arrange transfer to pickup point, but no-one answered the phone, and the system was not working. We just saw the Apex transfer bus at the airport pull up and hopped on randomly. With the Apex depot off site, the car drop-off had to be done before 5pm, which was inconvenient for us, as we had a late night flight. It would have been good to have an extra cost option to be able to leave the car/keys somewhere else for after hours drop-off, but unfortunately this was not an option. But the hire car was good quality, well priced and the staff were great once we found how to get to the depot.

Kayak misleadingly shows this as “in terminal” when in fact it’s a shuttle ride away. The shuttle does not run very often. And they don’t have cars ready (we were told when we arrived that it would be at least an hour because they were waiting on another rental company to send them cars). Sketchy! Avoid!

Car organized and car received were not similar. Vehicle had poor visibility and was difficult to drive at night, headlights were shocking. Water in back and front windscreens had no water in them. Continually cleaning car, no floor mats meant that the floor was continually dirty.
