Kind and courteous staff! Very impressive! I will look for their locations where ever I am traveling. I liked their location, the spacious grounds, the restaurant, the cafe....
Only that the doors don't lock without the key.... when they shut, they are always unlocked.... not common for hotels... but this was no real problem either.
Very bad conditions and extremly high price. Probably it suits for extreme tourism fans with their own sleeping bags, their own camping mugs with used packets of tea, but not for family travellers.
Rooms and shower and towels are so used, and, probably not clean also, so you need to stay at boots in the room and use our own towels.
Room very clean & bright, though small & bare. Whole facility very nice & well-maintained.
About a 15-20 minute walk to train station & main attractions.
comfort, furniture, there is no soap and towels in rooms, dirty walls....
The hotel is quite cheap in comparison to others. There is a parking for the hotel guests (2 Euro per night). The meal is quite good.
The breakfast was fantastic. This was the best part. Also, the person who was working Thursday night when I checked in was very nice and made me feel welcome, which was nice since I had just been traveling by train for 16 hours.
The rest of the staff was awful. The rudest I have ever seen at any hostel. Both mornings I tried to ask questions of the reception area and got one word answers without even a smile. Maybe it is because I asked them if they spoke English? It felt clear to me that the main business of the location was the rock climbing wall and that I was just a nuisance. I felt very unwelcome.
large, clean room, plenty of hot water for shower, good parking, good location, good breakfast
the first room we were given smelled like the sewer had backed up, which the reception person said is often the case with that room/floor. She gladly offered us a second room, which was fine...but I really wasn't too pleased to have to make three trips up and down to the reception because of a problem they supposedly often have. After returning to the reception the first time to explain the problem and get a new room key, I asked if I could simply return the key to the first room in the morning, but was told no, that I must bring it right away. Since it was their problem in the first place I would have thought them to be a bit more helpful and possibly send someone up to get the key or let me bring it in the morning.
breakfast, near to the city
it was much too loud; kids made party on the floor until late in the night (3.oo a.m.) every day!!!!
I enjoyed my stay at the jufa gastehaus graz (on 11th september 2009). the room was in a quiet location, it was clean and comfotable. Breakfast was very good and the coffee tasty. Recommended.
A small bar of soap in the bathroom would have been useful.
Basic rooms, but really painstaking and very wide. By bus you can reach very easly the city center, and the bus stop it's just around the corner. Staff polite and kind.
