Cons: Check in was terrible, not just long queue. We were only 10 mins early. 2.50. They said room not ready cone back in twenty minutes. I came back in half an hour, as we had coffee. Big queue to line up again. They didn't look pleased when i jumped the queue to ask is my room ready now(3.40 pm) reception gave me the cards and not a clear explanation of how to find my room. Got lost and couldn't understand poor instructions. I understand about Englush communication problem, but at a supposedly 5 star hotel, you would expect to be shown to your room in a big hotel. Thankfully a staff member could see we were lost and took us to the room. Not a good first impression at all.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent it had a variety of food stuffs ranging from an English breakfast to a traditional Chinese one.The staff were polite and helpful. The hotel had a range of themed nights and other activities such as a beach bbq buffet. And the scenery was breath-taking with lots of areas to take photos.
Cons: Theres a deposit charge that was not advertised on any of the sites, and we only found out about it when we got there, lucky for us the charge was reduced by about a third

Pros: Comfy bed and very friendly staff especially micheal. I had problem with my phone and he paid for for all my transportation till i could fix the problem . The most friendly environment you could ever get from a 5 star resort. Evenings from 6-9:30pm , they had a sea food buffet and was the best to ever get my taste buds on which didnt cost much as compared to other 5 star.

Cons: HORRIBLE HOTEL, HORRIBLE SERVICE. This hotel isn't up to standard, very old and worn furniture in the room, even the wall paper horrible and peeling off. The hotel smells horrid and old all trough. I was so dissatisfied, room view was blocked my a flag, couldn't see the view in a sea view room. Had to change rooms several times over the course of a 6 days. Police came to my room after 3am to kick my friends out, they were there to visit me in my room, wasn't there for even 19 hours and they came with the police yelling and screaming as we were lying down in bed. I've never experienced anything like this before. It was completely unwarranted and unacceptable, the girls had to leave and go to their hotel around 4am with aggressive police yelling in their faces and it's not like we were partying, we were sleep. Disgusting place that I'll NEVER EVER visit again and I suggest you don't also. And the location sucks, nothing around there, it takes 30 minutes or 40 minutes by taxi to get to active areas.

Pros: Great location very convenient for tourist attractions. Seaview from balcony was beautiful. All the food was very tasty. Barbecue seafood buffet was fantastic. The room was large and very comfortable. Good air con and wifi.

Pros: The location is very close to the beach, instant walk from hotel. Healthy breakfast, but not having coconuts included which is different from a couple of years ago. Beautiful garden view, very relaxing.
Cons: Do Not chose the new decoration side, the Formaldehyde makes your throat painful and eye burning. if you are a westerners or adults, you may not care about this. But if you travel with a baby, do not chose this side. Trust me, you will be grateful after reading my comments.

Pros: Right on the beach. Have restaurants and supermarket a short walk (less than 5 minutes) away. Maintain good standards. Friendly staff.
Cons: When staff introduces local tour sites, they could be more straightforward about their shortcomings. I signed up for an one day island tour and ended up spending 3.5 hours to wait (standing without seating within back to back crowds) to get on and off the island. If hotel staff had mentioned the waiting time, I would have picked a different island to visit.

Pros: The sea view from my room/balcony was good; coconut trees, blue sea with the distant islands in the background. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The service at the cafe could be improved; I think it took a bit too long (30 mins) to prepare the Hainanese chicken rice especially when there were not many customers. But the waitress did apologise for the 'long time' it took.

Cons: We had booked a non-smoking ocean view room with a kingsize bed. When we arrived, we were told that this type of room was not available and they could only offer us a smoking room, which we did not want. We were then given a non-smoking twin room, which is also not what we wanted, not what we had booked. There was a lot of confusion among staff members and we had to wait until the next day until we were given the room that we had booked in the first place. Disappointing!

Pros: A very wonderful experience for our first time in Sanya. We were very thankful for the room upgrade and high floor as requested. Concierge was also very helpful and willing to assist in planning out our itinerary. The room was beautiful and had an amazing view of the Dadong Bay. Fairly easy access to the beach, about 10-15 minute walk. We enjoyed the all you can eat dim sum package for lunch on our last day. We did not have any children with us but seems to be a family friendly hotel with many children-friendly facilities.
Cons: We had a minor noise issue with the guests next door. The rooms are actually very soundproof, however, we noticed the music came from the air conditioning ventilation. The issue was resolved very swiftly.

Pros: After they wanted to serve me an almost frozen bottle of red wine, I. Just picked their house wine from a show table (room temperature) as this was the only one not chilled. They eventually didn't charge me the bottle.
Cons: None of the staff speak a word English. This is totally unacceptable for an international luxury chain. There is no explanation given at all about what the facilities are, which attractions you can do or how you can spend new years eve. Staff look unhappy and never smile. The worst Marriott hotel I have ever stayed in. They have a lot of catch up to do to meet international standards. I would rate it a 3 star hotel according to western standards.

Pros: The resort was very nice, big pool and nice atmosphere. Room was okay, a little bit small but everything was there. The resort provides an electric car to the beach which takes about 3 minutes. Price is very good.
Cons: The staff didn't speak any English. The resort is far from Sanya cities and to eat dinner the options on the resort are limited to Chinese food. If you want western food you need to travel at least 2 km. The gym is very old but okay.

Cons: The hotel is extremely run down and in desperate need of renovations. Mould is running down walls, doors are coming off hinges, the jets in the bath didn't work, there are many switches that don't appear to have a purpose. And the door from the outdoor shower to the indoor was taped shut so we could 't use it. Overall, I expected a bit more than this.

Pros: The peace and tranquility of a private villa is UNRIVALLED! I would go back any possible moment just to enjoy the peace. It was amazing. It rejuvenated me. If I ever see a discount price for this villa I will jump at it immediately.
Cons: No-one speaks English after about 5pm. The tourist desk is a joke, no-one has any useful advice in any language about tourism in the area. Limited food for vegetarians and vegans. I paid a very expensive price for the villa... I think if you go off-holiday season then you can get better value.

Pros: The staff work really hard. Breakfast was good. Loved having the golf buggy to get around the property.
Cons: This hotel needs to be closed down and renovated. All rooms have major damage and as a result I changed rooms 4 times in 3 nights and still did not have a good room. 1st room- air conditioner didnt work, 2nd room- set up for babies, 3rd room floor was really bad and by the 4th room i had to accept the bad floor as it had already taken 2 hours. The staff tried to make my experience better by decorating the room but it was too late.

Pros: The location is all right, but not what I expected. It illustrates 100 meters to the beach, but actually you need walk through a path to the sea, which is a quite long way . the direct distance might be 100, but actual is not. After this is realized, I instantly changed the other 2 nights to the neighbour one 'Marriott'. About other facilities, em..... just ok. The breakfast is ok.
Cons: Location not very good as described on the website, a little bit disappointment. Rooms are ok, near to the main road, a bit noisy.

Pros: We like food (breakfast, dinner) and swimming pool, but the best in Pullman is -staff. Only few of them speak English and that is the obstacle if you are not good in Chinese, but most of them were so nice and they really want us to enjoy our stay. Here we met one special person, the woman who was cleaning our room. She is extremely passionate and I do not have proper words to describe her. Always smile on her face, every day a new "towel animal" on the bed, the person who really likes her job. That is the reason I put her photo on this page. Beach is only 5-10 minuets walk from the hotel and if you want to swim in the ocean and enjoy sand beach, you can do it easily.
Cons: The pool is open from 9 - 21. Mornings and evenings are beautiful in the pool, but they do not allow you to swim. To change the timetable only 30 minute and open the pool from 8.30 - 21.30, it would make the difference. Of course, furniture is old and the management must think about changing it soon.

Pros: Very clean at all places. Rooms are very practically,big and very clean. Personal is very polite and a lot speak also English. Breakfast is well organized and complete. A lot of variety and a lot of health food. The swimming pool was never overcrowded and you could easily train. The equipment of the fitness has a high quality standard,worked very well and was always cleaned. Although we don’t have children, we saw that the property gives the children a max of facilities.
Cons: Difficult to say, because the property is perfect. The only recommendation I,could give is: Make a smooth overstep from the property to the see. The concrete on the see -side should be eliminated. You could avoid the sand-erosion by making the smooth overstep and avoid a blockage of 2m hight. You can’t win from erosion, so,.. make it smooth. It is more save and gives you the perfect see-View.

The hotel was super with its pools, location and facilities were great and comfortable. Pros: There is no way I could stay at Ritz-Carlton Premier Ocean View Room at this price in the world. The oriental style architecture is beautiful! The room is spacious, bathroom and bathtub are clean, all the personnel are kind, a wide selection of breakfast, beautiful gardens and swimming pools, and the beach is right in front of the hotel.
Cons: 1. I did have the ocean view from the room, but it was a little less than I expected. (pic attached) 2. There was nobody, literally nobody except a front desk manager speaks English! (I am not from an English spoken country) I guess Chineses are major customers there and the hotel does not need to recruit foreign customers. Translation app is must. 3. All the restaurants were pricey even though the foods were superb. 4. The time I stayed was August, but the restaurants and cafes did not provides ice water since Chinese people drink hot tea even in summer time. So I tipped waiting staff and housekeepers 5-10 Yuans (around $1-2), to get a ice bucket.

Cons: Good service and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful, especially the staff at the children play areas and splash. A wide variety of breakfast buffet. Easy access to the beach. Overall we had a great stay.

Pros: Room cleaned and made up every day with clean towels, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries used replaced every day. Rooms had iron, ironing board, hair drier, kettle, minibar, TV, safe, air conditioning. Hotel was immaculate. Taxis available outside reception anytime. Hotel car and driver could be booked for a day when wanted.
Cons: No facilities such as toilet, bar, music at beach. Most of the staff unable to speak any English. If at Bar on 17th floor or restaurant on 1st floor and asked for drinks the staff had to go to bar on 1st floor for the drinks as they did not keep all drink on each level resulting in long waits for drinks. Some of the bar staff unsure how to make cocktails or drinks which were on the menu where ingredients were stated on the menu.

Pros: Location and friendly and helpful staff especially bellboy named Hanson. He went out of his way just to make sure we don't get scammed by taxi driver. Such dedication to his job is truly amazing and admirable. He should be promoted to higher position with greater responsibilities. Because of his dedication to his job, he will go a long long way.
Cons: We booked 2 units of 2 apartment bedrooms. All of us got bed bug bites! This is extremely disappointing especially they branded their hotel as 5 stars. The bed sheet smells and should have raised the red flag there.

Cons: Booked an Oceanview apartment: on arrival (after we had paid) we were told our apartment wasn’t ready until the following day and we would have to move. We were given compensation of the lounge. There were no utensils in the apartment kitchen. Had to pay extra for kids to use pool toys & kids activities.

Cons: The towel service lacks efficiency. We were there in lowe season and yet we had to wait every morning to get a towel at the pool, becaus they ran out. They have one pool with a sign that says ‘only for 12 years and up’, which sounded appealing to us. But the pool staff don’t enforce this, so it became a playground for young kids (for who they have plenty of other pools).

Pros: The perfect getaway. The spacious room comes with a balcony and a large bathroom with tub. The resort takes into consideration that guests will visit the beach and hence, there are facilities in the room to allow guest to hang their wet clothes. Apart from the nice comfortable room, there're several pools within the resort with ample tanning chairs to laze the day away. The lounge is a nice hang-out spot for afternoon tea. In the night, it's a nice spot to chill with a couple of drinks from the bar and enjoy the nice live music:)
Cons: One of the sliding door for the bathroom is always stuck.

Pros: My wife and I went to Sanya for our honeymoon. Loved it. Pullman is awesome. Fantastic swimming pools, the breakfast is awesome, the dinner buffet was awesome and the rooms are great. Loved the whole place. The staff is very attentive and sweet. We really enjoyed our time in Sanya. The beaches are gorgeous. We went to Yalong bay, and some other awesome places. The local fruit and other food is insanely good! Do your homework on good restaurants and don't get ripped off. A great time can be had in Sanya, lovely place.
Cons: All of the Pullman food was quite exquisite, except on one night when we went to their Cantonese place. It was OK but very overpriced for the quality. WAY better stuff can be found off the beaten path. Do some hunting and find some of the truly spectacular places that are around. Also I suggest hitting up some of the cool history tours that are there.

Pros: I almost didn't stay here. I was booked into another, much more expensive hotel nearby. However, I happened to briefly visit that hotel a few weeks before my planned holiday and was shocked at the poor quality. I therefore switched to this hotel, assuming the quality would only be 'ok', but at least it was cheap. The quality is BETTER than the more expensive hotels nearby, and it is a lot cheaper!!! Great staff, nice pizza, pool access room was heavenly.
Cons: Breakfast is fairly 'local'. It gets insanely busy later on, but was lovely if you go earlier. The samosas were amazing, but apart from them there are few genuine international or vegetarian options - just a lot of foods that local people think are international, but aren't. Sadly there are no cheeses or anything of that nature.

Pros: I must say that the staff were excellent and the food was top rate the grounds are very well kept and pleasant to stroll around. There is plenty to do at the beach with a range of food and drinks available at the beach bar. There is also a range of water sports activities to enjoy. There is a large shallow pool that looked safe for children and other larger pools for adults all in the grounds. But I think it is the dedication of the first rate staff that is holding this hotel together.
Cons: Sadly this hotel is very dated and it shows, the first room we were allocated was damp and showing signs of its age. The shower walls were stained and the layout of the bathroom was dingy and in need of some major refurbishment. Not the star rating that we booked and expected from a Sheraton Hotel. We were quickly moved to a much better room by concerned staff but sadly still not what we are used to or expected. We have stayed in other hotels in Sanya over the years and they were much better hotels. Personally I felt very sorry for the staff who are working very hard to keep this hotel afloat they are doing a great job with a hotel that is in decline. We would like to thank them all for doing there best to make our stay enjoyable. We would have checked out and moved hotel had it not been for the staff and their efforts to make things good.

Spent seafood BBQ price, but end up with hotpot (majority of food selection were for hotpot, same as the hotpot dinner we had on another night but half of price). Only couple of BBQ cooking tables in dark outside (but 他和selection didn’t seem having hotel quality). There were missing almost half of the food selection from the menu We reserved 7:30pm, it felt like the place was going to close around 8:30pm-the fruit bar, desert bar all had few pieces left. Anyway, We left early without eating much. Definitely wasted the money.

Pros: Swimming pools, beach, rooms. Garden room was actually much bigger, cheaper and I liked it more than Ocean breeze pavilion. But Hillside rooms have great view of the sea, but also downgrade compare to Ocean breeze. But all rooms I stayed in were really nice. Breakfast, is very nice, but I wish they had smoked salmon.
Cons: There used to be hammocks along the beach on the palm trees to relax on and watch the sea. :(, gutters of the swimming pools could be cleaned more often, and chocolate was old in the minibar.

Pros: Great location, beach is just over the road. Traffic was acceptable, maybe a bit heavier during evening hours. Breakfast was pretty good, with wide choices of Asian food. For Europeans it was OK, too, but most of their condiments and meats were pretty salty. Fruits and sushi was there every morning. Rooms were large, really much bigger than usual, with high ceiling. Bathroom with glass wall to main room. Bath tub in both our rooms. Pool was clean and there was present life guard all the time. Beds a bit harder, very good sleep from my side. Sanya itself is nice for holiday, but you should not expect similar experience as in Thailand, etc. Less night life, great for families. Except Binlang village no real attractions, of course aside of beach, sea and food.
Cons: Staff has problem with English. If you want anything else than easy task, they do not follow. They are nice, but do not get the meaning. In restaurant I found one waitress whose English was great. Reception, well, two of about eight people we talk :-). No beach towels (although pool towels were there). Behavior of some guests, usually Chinese... Smoking virtually anywhere, take food from my plate (WTH), opened room door to corridor. Jelly fish were in shallow waters for several days, I suspect due to fishing... It pretty burns :-(.

I can recommend only for a few days staying (short term) in the city and for the first time visit in Sanya. For more relaxing and great quality food, you have more option at Yalong bay area. Hospitality service and food option is poor at the hotel.

Pros: We loved our stay! The view of the sunset is so perfect from this hotel. Sanya beach is also beautiful and lively at sunset. The street behind the hotel (Waimao Road) is great for more local/cheapish (but clean) food. If you keep walking up Yingbin Road (past Waimao Road and Tielu Road), there is an amazing foot massage place on the left side of the road. We went there every day!
Cons: The staff were very friendly and helpful but it was a little difficult to communicate with the very basic Mandarin we had. Also, the wifi in the hotel was not very strong.
