Lti Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel

The Pestana Grand Madiera is a beautifully appointed hotel in a lovely seaside location. The rooms and public spaces are to a very high standard.

I found the staff to be a little unwelcoming.

The rooms were excellent with great shower and really comfortable beds. All of the reception rooms were comfortable and roomy, as was the main dining room. The outdoor areas were spacious but he sun-loungers not as comfortable as the balcony chairs. Wonderful pools though too cold to use in January! Once open, the spa facilities were terrific.

Great place for a luxury holiday; sea view rooms are best.

food etc in hotel very expensive. Bottled water left in room as 'courtesy' was over 3 euros per bottle! Not possible to get food after 10pm.
