10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else!
Cons: Pool area was under maintenance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and very clean room with a beautiful panorama on red sea. Staff so kind and ready to support in any needs. Everything was above my expectations
6.0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is very nice: close to the city centre and on the beach; The rooms are big and clean.
Cons: The hotel was under refurbishment but we were only told a few days before to arrive when we could no longer cancel the reservation. We did pay the full price but we heard renovations all day until late in the evening and we were unable to use the pool. I don't expect such a thing from a Kempinski. Part of the staff was rude: while paying, we've been asked why the woman in the family was paying, and not the man. We used the cups for a coffee in the room and they weren't replaced during the evening shift. The staff at the bar was pushy and not professional.
7.1 Good
Pros: 1. On the Beach 2. Beach Front View from the room. 3. Good Breakfast Buffet included with room 4. WiFi worked well. 5. Courteous Staff.
Cons: 1. Stayed there during Eid and the hotel was empty, yet the room rate remained at $ 218 per night plus 10% Service Charge plus 7% City Tax. 2. Check-In, Baggage X-Ray people are buffoons. Thought I had some telescope or telephoto lens in my bag. Acted like I wanted to photograph a Nuclear Sub Base that doesn't exist. I did not even have a camera with me. 3. No electrical outlets near the bed. 4. Limited number of chairs near the pool and beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good exterior facilities!
Cons: The smoke detector’s light was flashing all night, right on top of the bed

Cons: Nothing
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room was spacious and in a convenient location, right next to some good restaurants that I enjoyed going to. The front desk at check-in was kind.
Cons: The room smelled bad as if something was rotting, and I had to keep the window open all night (which was noisy). The bathroom floor was wet, and the shower did not drain (probably why the bathroom floor was so wet). The TV did not work, and the WiFi was very spotty... after 2-3 minutes of using it it would disconnect, so could hardly get my work done. I asked the front desk to make a taxi reservation for me in the early morning - I had limited cash remaining, so confirmed how much it would be. I was told it would be 8 dinars, no more. Once I got to the airport, the driver requested 11 dinars saying it was a fixed rate negotiated with the hotel, and ended up taking all of my cash.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I booked this hotel for the location and it couldn't have been better placed. a lovely room with a stunning view, was very clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was very professional, big thanks to the lady Widy in the reception was really friendly, we were stunned and most grateful for the personalised and caring service. We would definitely choose this hotel again! Highly recommended!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to the city centre
Cons: Old Spa No service at sunbeds
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and very good breakfasts. It’s really close to downtown and easy to eat something really good.
Cons: The beach is realy short and You can’t go further than water up to your hips. Lifeguard is calling You back. It’s private sandy with some rocks. Unfortunately in the water there is a lot of trash. If You want to snorkeling You need a car - it’s worth it (seven sisters or japanese garden, tank, plane, shipwreck)! Spa Jacuzzi should be definitely refreshed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and breakfast buffet
Cons: The beach and pool are constantly innundated w super loud dj'd clubbing music - not good and not relaxing. We asked them to stop/lower but apparently the 'beach customers' have requested entertainment. We sat on the far end of the beach near the kempimski and the music mostly faded away...
9.0 Excellent
Cons: This hotel is A little bit outdated, but Still comfortable, The staff is nice And The facilities are good The Beach is Clean.
Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba - Aqaba - Bedroom

8.7 Excellent (9,260 reviews)
S$ 277+
Overview Reviews
Located on the idyllic southern shores of The Red Sea, an area blessed with year round sunshine. A wide range of leisure activities including a diving center, an amphitheater, a shopping arcade, and a children's activities center with its own swimming pool as well as a fully equipped gym. The resort's wellness area comprises of our second Zara Spa, a hairdresser, and a nail studio. In addition to offering 306 spacious and superbly furnished rooms, it provides different bars and specialty restaurants.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location on the Red Sea was amazing, easy 30 min to get to from Aqabar airport. It had a very traditional Jordan feel about it, not too international which we liked. Very much geared up for young families. The gardens are amazing and beautifully lit up at night. Breakfast very good and an enormous choice of local and western food. Lovely balcony at our room. We also liked the outdoor jacuzzi at night time. Beach side staff very attentive. Nice to have a yoga session under the palmtrees in the lawn. Our sons (23 and 26) enjoyed the gym.
Cons: The Sinai dive centre onsite isn’t geared up for snorkellers but concentrates on divers. For the 3 days of our stay we couldn’t do any snorkelling trips due to weather conditions, but divers were allowed to go. So we had to organise a taxi ourselves to the Japanese garden site for snorkelling site on the last day as we were rather frustrated, a shame they couldn’t be more helpful. They could organise a minibus to go to snorkelling beaches when weather doesn’t permit the boat to go out. There is very limited snorkelling of the beach at Mövenpick Tala Bay sadly. The Oxford taxi service in the hotel charged us a triple fee for picking us up from Wadi Rum to drive us to Petra, letting us wait on the roadside with all our luggage for an hour. Not reliable and far too expensive. Food wise we often went to eat at the Marina a 10 min stroll along the beach north of the resort. A bit more expensive then the hotel buffet but we preferred the less hectic feel of eating outside. On leaving our food bills were very muddled up and weren’t accurate. Staff are very graceful and patient.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location . Service rectified once management aware of issues.
Cons: First night buffet dinner service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, I’ve never had so much choice
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good breakfast, family friendly, perfect location, friendly staff
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. We were at low season and they were able to accommodate an early check in and slightly late check out for no extra charge. Good (but not exceptional) breakfast and dinner buffet, which was included in our price. Good service at the bar and nice touch to have the chocolate hour each day. Facilities are superb although only the winter pool was heated and it is 1.6m deep so the kids had to stay by the side when they wanted to catch their breath. The other pools and water slide were very cold, but the kids still managed to use them briefly. Beach is nice and there is a football pitch and volleyball court. I think this would be an excellent place to come for a family holiday in high season. It was quiet when we visited in January.
Cons: Reception gave out an incorrect events programme. Animation team were bubbly but we didn’t know what was on when. I expect that was a symptom of it being low season
4.0 Okay
Pros: The beach Bools
Cons: I didnt like the activities there It was too boring And the facilities were hard to move in
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel grounds were very nice and it had beautiful view of the Red Sea. My daughters enjoyed seeing all of the interesting fish off of the pier. There was a little Christmas market while we were there and we had henna tattooing done which we all liked.
Cons: The hotel was understaffed. Everything just took forever. Getting the bill after meals took over 1/2 an hour and service during the buffet meals was very slow with plates not being cleared and drink orders not being taken. Given the poor service, it was very annoying to be charged a mandatory 10% service fee. Also, meals and drinks were very expensive for what they were. Lemonade was the equivalent of 7$ and a burger was over 20$. Our rooms were not cleaned until I had complained several times and when we asked for more bottled water (tap water in Jordan is not safe to drink) it either took a long time to arrive or not at all. The most disturbing incident was someone defecated in the hallway leading to our room. There was poop everywhere and was not properly cleaned up, causing us to have to side step poop smears for the remainder of our stay. Not good value for the money.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice resort. Beautiful ocean and views. Extremely clean with very beautiful water features and pools. We enjoyed the location but know that it is out of town maybe 10KM from Aqaba. However, they offer a free shuttle to the other Movenpick downtown. The spa was excellent as is the Italian restaurant. Great place to relax for a few days after the adventure of Petra.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was the worst in Jordan and not as good as the Movenpick Petra. We paid to upgrade to a Seaview room but the views are limited due to the fact that the resort is only 3 stories, foliage, slides, etc. I would agree with other comments that for Americans and some Europeans this resort becomes quite expensive with the exchange rate. For example, the cocktails are 10-12JOD which is $14-$16 USD per drink. Just plan to splurge a little bit when you are at this resort, but we thought it was worth it

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing atmophere, rooms were nice and warm. It even had a tv eith 1000 channels. The best thing of course was diving. Mick is a great instructor and the shipwreck dive site definetely very memorable.
Cons: There was a ninja mosquito in the room that we could not find during the day time but it would come out at 4am to feast on us. Other then that the place is great.
7.9 Good
Pros: Super diving!; great staff; basic but comfortable rooms and beds; amazing views.
Cons: Rooms are bare (no utensils, glasses, mugs); windows in the bedroom did not shut, we were on the ground floor so people can easily come in: not great!; you need a car to get around, you’re 20 mins drive away from Aqaba center and 5 mins drive away from nearest supermarket.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff. Great dive centre. Comfortable room. I had a great stay
Cons: Shame the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but they do sell water and snacks which is great and the breakfast is pretty good with lots of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, nice room, comfy beds. They realy try to accomodate all your needs. It is the best place if you want do do some diving or even snorkling. The diving instructor Omar was great. The dives were the higliht of the trip!
Cons: The lack of places to go for lunch/diner. We were here off-season so maybe during the season you have more options.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If you wanna go diving it’s in the perfect spot. the diving instructors a great and super nice, the equipment is very good. we would be happy if they’d expand their freediving offers and gear and offer warmer wetsuits for the colder days :) the rooms and the area is nice.
Cons: One common room for guests thats open all day would be nice, cause when it gets colder outside there’s none. Tea, coffee and water should be included and available all day, maybe snacks like fruits as well.
7.9 Good
Pros: Daily scuba dives or snorkelling available, quiet location on a night, aircon and fan in rooms.
Cons: No clean towels in room for a 5 night stay but it wasn't a major problem
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, breakfast was good and location perfect for diving. Service was great and friendly, diving was amazing! The staff helped me organise day trips to Petra and Wadi rum.
Cons: Location is good for diving and relaxing but there are no shops and only a few restaurant close by. Wifi could be better (didn't reach my room) and a kettle for boiling water would have been great.
6.0 Good
Pros: very clean rooms not to big and not to small. The staff worked well with everyone.
Cons: I did not like the fact that one reason for going to IADV was for the understanding the rooms had wireless internet. After checking in and going to my room to find I did not have wireless in my room which made it a little hard to do my work while playing and resting.
4.3 Okay
Cons: location far from sea, need cap to go there.hotel is small and if you want to call them no land line only cell phone and no one answering.no decent restaurant.
4.7 Okay
Pros: I liked the location relatively close to a fine beach with great snorkel water just 50 meter from the beach. More hotels close by with restaurants. 10-12 from Aqaba city and a taxi could be done for 4JD one way. The rooms had a ok size. I can recommend the breakfast - 3JD.
Cons: There are other hotels closer to the beach. This is about 10 min walk.
6.3 Good
Pros: The nice clean room, the wifi and the fine simple service.
6.3 Good
Pros: excelent staff. Good diving spot
Cons: Cost of breakfast and local tax were not included in rate.
6.6 Good
Pros: Friendly; good value; basic but comfortable; air conditioned; wirless internet; hot water showers.
Cons: Long walk to the beach...good if you have a car.Very limited menu.
5.2 Okay
Pros: the hotel was clean and the staff try to be helpful even with a poor english. The menu was to simple. It is far from the beach and we needed to fix an hour with someone for the pickup .
Cons: the menu.to far from the beach.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! I expected so much worse after looking at the web site but in actual fact it was a great little place!!! we all loved our stay there and wished it was longer!
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: Very clean and new. Family run! No pool (yet as they say). Good if you are diving, for longer stay without diving a bit too simple.
Cons: No pool (but will build one they said).
7.6 Good
Pros: All the staff were most welcoming and helpful. I got lifts to the beach and they offered to take me to Aqaba or get me what I needed. I liked that the place was peaceful, quiet and safe for a lone female traveller.
Cons:

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Big thanks to the girls that do children entertainment at the beach! Our children were always busy and happy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful when I fell ill (gastroenteritis). They had a belly dancer at the Fun Pub I think every night which is amazing. It was cool to see the weddings taking place in the courtyard, and their New Year's show was fantastic (though it's a shame the fireworks didn't work out).
Cons: It was irritating that we couldn't have shisha inside the Fun Pub where smoking cigarettes is allowed (and very common).
6.2 Good
Pros: Beach access, location, flexible check-in/out times,
Cons: Clean and odorless bathroom at Alshatt men’s restroom. No electricity when entering the room Water is not always hot Dirty stirring spoon Valet car parked under the sun Breakfast too expensive Mold smell by the bar area Was hoping for courtesy bigger room provided many empty rooms were available.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff! It’s close to all the restaurants. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep. I would definitely recommend it!
Cons: The water in the shower took a long time to heat. I think less water would be wasted if it heated up more quickly.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Cleanliness, mattress was very hard, no power outlets
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Many thanks to Cedar Hotel for making our stay so comfortable! Special thanks to Abi who helped us finding a barber, haircut and showed us the best pasteleria in town!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location, but Madaba is over rated. Very little to see.
Cons: Dirty and run down. Shower drain was blocked and toilet leaked.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel in the heart of Aqaba! Very close to the beach, shops and restaurants! The owner is very polite and helpful! Hotel is clean! You can also enjoy the view from the terrace on the top the hotel!
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location in the town center. Good value for money, clean rooms, nice staff at reception. Abd has recommended a good local restaurant Azad.
Cons: We’ve been given packed souvenirs by a receptionist when checked out, and we didn’t look at them (they were shells from the beach). Then we headed directly to Eilat airport and have faced with severe security check because of these souvenirs. It was a nightmare, we were about to miss the flight. Sometimes no hot water in the evening, even after long waiting with open tap. Staff told us it is not their fault, we should have waited longer. Poor breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, the kind staff, the amazing king size bed.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very posh hotel and feels luxurious. Centrally located near several restaurants and also the JETT bus station. Very clean and smells nice. Free use of gym and swimming pool/jacuzzi. Superb breakfast with a lovely view of the mountains and desert from the panoramic window.
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms was poor. I had to change rooms once due to being too hot in the night. They upgraded me to a superior room. But I lost a night of sleep. The gym is open 24 hours but the swimming complex closes at 5pm. It would have been nice to be able to relax there after a day of sightseeing.

Featured amenities include express check-in, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. 7.1 Good
Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly Not far away from snorkelling places Only 20 min drive from city center
Cons: Towels didn't look very clean. Quite old building.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room was fine and the bed conformtable. The central courtyard is pretty with a view onto the mountains, and I am sure that it is lovely in the summer when you can use the pool. If you are diving or wanting to snorkel, then they seemed well equipped and offered a variety of options. Decent value for money (but only if you actually get the breakfast).
Cons: I was offered the opportunity to contact the property via booking.com, as well as ask for transportation from the airport. My questions were ignored and no transport had been arranged. While I wouldn't have minded if they had said no, an answer would have been nice. I was told that the breakfast was until 10am. Admittedly I went down at 9.30 so I was cutting it fine, but everything had already been packed away and I was told by the chef that reception had said everyone had eaten. Considering one of the main reasons I chose this property was that the breakfast ratings were very good, I was very disappointed. Credit to the chef, he still provided a decent enough meal, but it was a far cry from the buffet that was advertised. Lastly, other than the gentleman who was working the evening I arrived and the chef from breakfast, all the other staff members were unfriendly and ignored me until I approached them. I can only imagine this was because I had not booked any diving activities and was not considered valuable enough.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, nice people, clean (but cold) pool, good breakfast
Cons: You need a car, it is quite a distance to the village on the red sea
6.3 Good

8.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great diving - amazing dive spots, safe, good instruction. Easy stay for diving the red sea. Good breakfast and dinner. Very clean. Drinks fridge was great.
Cons: Some of the plugs in our room didn't work.

Pros: From my arrival to departure, the staff of the Golden Rose hotel made me feel at home. The facilities were very clean and well-kept, wi-fi worked perfectly and it is located right in the downtown area of Aqaba only a few blocks from the beach. It's an ideal place to stay if you are going snorkeling since the guys at the reception will be able to point you to the best spots around Aqaba. I strongly recommend this hotel for travelers both young or older looking for an adventure in the Red Sea and a safe place to stay for less.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was located in front of bus terminal. It's good price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location in the city centre, elevator, clean room and toilet, nice view from the balcony. Staff was kind and helpful.
Cons: The taxist who would pick me up on checkout couldn't go, so the hotel provided me another one who would charge me double the price agreed with the previous one (I'm lucky I mentioned about price before enter the taxi). So, the hotel should help to prevent this kind of things, helping the guests don't be cheated in prices (a common practice in Jordan)
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is good, a close walk to restaurants, shops etc.
Cons: The room wasn't very clean and the beds were very uncomfortable. Very run down place.

Pros: The room/bathroom: very clean, well equipped, nice view towards the sea from the balcony. Good location, about 15-20 mins by foot to the sea and downtown.
Cons: Staff speaks a bit of English, but we managed to communicate after all :) There are barking dogs in the area and might be unconfortable during night, bring earplugs.

Pros: It is definitely worth staying here when visiting Aqaba. Everything was clean, and comfortable during our stay. The hotel is located within walking distance of downtown Aqaba (5mins. to markets, and 10mins. to beach). If you have a car it is very easy to get to South Beach from here, which is a 15min. drive south. It is a relatively quiet location when compared to the hussle and bustle of the downtown area. The hosts at the hotel make you feel welcome, and are willing to help you with any needs you may have. The view from the balcony is amazing!
Cons: Nothing, everything was wonderful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good night sleep, good help and great value for money.

Pros: Everything was very nice and proffesional. I can honestly say none check my personal belongins in an unpleasant way as i've read in some of the comments. Breakfast has a lot of choices. Also i got a welcome drink and it was very refreshing. Good check-in, very fast and pleasent. Also there was one worker who helped me to get to the room and i wish I knew his name because he was also very nice so i would like to mention him. I'll be back
Cons: I wish there were explanations under each type of food on breakfast because some of them weren't that obvious :) Names in english and arabic it would be enough

Pros: The hotel immediately surpised us in most positive way by giving the key to room 701 on 7th floor. It was a big suite with big balcony and view to the bay. We loved it. We also loved the atmosphere and friendlyness of the staff. We booked a Jordan hotel in favor of one of the famous chains. It gives you a better idea of the place you stay and the people living there. Sure the hotel is outdated but when accepting this upfront and book such hotel for above reason you will appreciate it. The location is very good. There are many restaurants around, You can find a very good coffeeshop (V60) about 10 metres to the right when leaving from main-entrace. There are fast-food options and more authentic options to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All very close, within walking distance. When turning left (direction of Double Tree Hilton) you can find a bakery store that is open 24/7. This shop is exactly on the opposite side of the road from Double Tree Hilton. We went there a few times. Easy and cheap. The bed in our room 701 was spacious and good. We had very good sleep. We had a shower and bath. Tip: keep on the button for hot water at the side of the door and the watertemperature is more then good. They clean the room every day and give you new towels and so. No worry. We did not use TV, but noticed it had CNN and BBC world in English. Rest is Arabian TV as far as we could see. There is a fridge with some drinks and chocolate bars. The breakfast is very limited and to be honest not as a European traveller would expect. A said above; good coffee just outside the hotel to the right. The staff is willing to help you with any question. We went by foot to the public beaches. The closest beaches are private and you cannot enter without ID. One day we went to Kempinski hotel, showed passport and got access to the pools and private beach of Kempinski for free!! (take this advice!). On the public beaches in Aqaba there are also the simple glass boats touring in bay.
Cons: A lot of Aqaba is under contruction.

Pros: Large family room with 4 singles was fine for us. Good food options around the hotel.
Cons: While a fine location for walking around in the evening, it was REALLY hard to find. The address needs to be made more accurate so that it can be found. 'The Roundabout/Circle' is very large and no locals knew where it was. We were sent in a wild goose chase by people trying to help, when when they called the hotel for directions. It took over a hour. Please add a map to your photos and a more precise address.
