A traditional Riad with the rooms all situated around a central courtyard. Roof terrace with jacuzzi ideal for sitting out and relaxing. There are only 5 rooms - 2 twin rooms on the ground floor and 3 doubles upstairs. All windows in the rooms face out to the courtyard. Breakfast is a mix of fresh juice, fruit, yoghurt and lovely freshly cooked pancakes and cakes. Good coffee and mint tea. A dinner menu is available each evening (to order in advance). A fridge with soft drinks to buy is available ( very handy for water and juice etc). Ideally located within 15 mins walk of the main square but shops and restaurants all nearby. Staff were friendly and did what they could to ensure stay was as good as possible.

It is hard to say I didn’t like something as that it a very personal thing. People could say the location was not great as the side streets leading to the Riad are not the best - but that is the vast majority of side streets in the old town.. and houses were built to be nothing outside with decorations only inside... Yes, some small details in the Riad could be improved, plants better looked after etc. but that did not impact on the enjoyment of our stay. The twin rooms are on the small size but that cannot be changed.

Location within the Medina and easy access to all sights on foot. Riad was easy to find although we did arrange a pickup on arrival. It is close to the Laarouss Car parking but so if you wanted taxis they are easy to get from here( we didnt but they were always there asking) Spa was refreshing after walking the medina. Quiet location. Good restaurants close by. Hicham the night and breakfast manager was very friendly. Hassan was welcoming . Breakfast was satisfactory but basic. We were worried about getting lost but never did and we went right through the souks on search of rugs (3)..Pictures on booking.com are a good representation of this Riad

We did not get the room we booked and were promised by Hassan the manager. Marrakech was our final stay in Morocco so we wanted specific things for this stay...1. a bright room(specifically not red as they are dark) 2. A balcony with outside seating. Ambre room had both of these features so we contacted the property before we booked to be assured that this was the room we would get. I had a very prompt reply from Hassan stating that of course we could have the Ambre room. On arrival we were given the Corail room which was red and had no outdoor seating. We had 6 nights booked and were told the Ambre was taken, the Ambre room had different people each night...very annoying. Corail was very dark and the air conditioning was just adequate. We were lucky that the weather was cooler.

Hassan, was very helpful, polite and a great host, the place itself is rustic but charming, breakfast was different with thin crumpets and special fig preserve, also there was a spread just tastes like peanut butter, so my hubby was made up. You can get the odd hieneken or glass of wine, but if your looking for a drinks holiday then this is not for you, we would recommend the Riad lea, very good experience.

Was not told until the last minute about city taxes not being paid by card, had to make an extra trip to try to get cash and in the end could not do it and so they processes the payment with card anyway

I like the hotel was within 15 minute walk to the Medina and the main square.

I didn't appreciate the rudeness of the staff, no HOT water for the 2 days I stayed at this property, limited wifi/ no strong signal and issues with the wifi that prevented us from using it at all, nor did I appreciate the inability of the staff to try to meet our needs as far as issues were concerned. When we arrived on Thursday evening, it was after 10pm. After checking in, we went to our rooms for the evening and realized there was no hot water. Due to the time, after 11pm, & there being no phones in the room to reach the front desk, we didn't seek help. The next morning, we had an excursion planned for the entire day to the waterfall. We left at 7am and there was no one at the desk for me to ask to check our hot water. I sent the hotel a message via booking.com to address the issue and possible travel transportation on our day of checkout. However, after 5/6p I noticed I hadn't received a response from riad lea. Therefore, I called. The staff member, a man, who answered, was very rude and said I waited too late to ask for someone to help and he couldn't get anyone to fix it until the next day (Saturday, our checkout day). I explained to him that I sent an email on booking.com earlier and I that I only called because I noticed no one had responded. He told me the wifi wasn't working so no one could read or receive any emails. I then told him again what the issue was and if someone could fix it today. He didn't offer to look at it himself or even attempt to reconcile the issue. He then proceeded to tell me that the card machine was also down and that we'd have to pay cash for the room. I called again later, before 8p to ask our final price of the room (so we could withdraw the funds to pay) and if the card machine was working, again, he was rude and said he already told me the machine wasn't working and that he couldn't tell me the balance of our room because the wifi also wasn't working.
