Howard Johnson Inn San Diego Hotel Circle

I liked the location/ proximity to where we were going. I also appreciated that it had a fridge where we could keep our soda/ waters cold. I didn't like how unkept it looked. Our room had an old leather couch that was all worn out. I would have preferred it to have no couch/ the space empty than to have the old / dirty looking leather couch. I also found it odd that it had an ironing board but no iron, and coffee packets but no coffee pot. Breakfast was very limited.

Close to other hotels and restaurants Can't upgrade any reservations made online. The room, with a king bed, was extremely small. I had to ask for towels every day because they didn't leave any. The place, inside and out, looks like it's falling apart. Guests were shady looking. Other amenities were nearby but this place is clearly on the wrong side of the tracks. I wish I would've spent the money to stay at a different hotel.

this place was a disaster from start to finish...do not stay here!! No towels after maid service...TV was Air...no cable as advertised. Microwave broken. Smelled terrible. Worst hotel stay ever! i hated every minute of my time in this hotel. Two days of sin and punishment. Do not think you are saving any money...this place is a joke. Shut it down!!!

Nothing but had nowhere else to go Room was dirty had rust on shower rod and toilet paper holder and mold in the bathroom and on the stairs going outHalf of the electrical sockets could not be used, door didn't fit properly. 100 degrees outside and the ice machine was not working. Microwave was plugged into an extension cord.

Bathroom has no door. Poor living condition.

Location is awesome, 3 miles from beach and sea world! My reserved room wasn't ready at 3:00, when check in is!

Getting the heck outta there! Leaving was the only thing we liked! Absolutely FILTHY rooms! No hot water! When I brought it to the front desk's attention, I was told to take a cold shower(which my 10 year old tried to do)! Sticky stains on the chairs! Old box TV that had terrible reception & only a couple of channels worked! Phone in room didn't work! Stains on the walls and the carpet...no one dared take their shoes off! Wi-Fi did NOT work! Big gap between the door and the door jamb when the door was closed! Floor lamp didn't work! Microwave cord couldn't be plugged in unless you removed it from the shelf & set it on the floor...it did NOT get used, needless to say. Absolutely ZERO help from what little staff was there! I was absolutely appalled with this property & it's 3 STAR RATING?? WHAT!? I would have felt safer and cleaner sleeping in my car!! I suggest Kayak remove this property from their list of hotels...it's AWFUL!!

The location is good. Close to freeways. The staff dodging questions. The lower rate people got for walk in versus early reservation. Their rate was about $35 less for walking in and inquiring the rate versus me booking five weeks ahead of time. Room was mediocre at best for that price. Skip this place.

Bathroom door would not close properly. Shower water knob was too tight. Facilities are old, they need to be remodeled asap.

I was able to sleep... The king sized bed took up the entire room, the TV was a Box Televison maybe 30 in at best and no plug in the bathroom. And the front desk gave minumal help when asked by us.

Location Was attending a large conference at Convention Center and needed internet connection at the hotel. Internet was not available and as much as they promised it would be resolved it never was during my 5 day stay. They offered to credit back some days which they refused to do on checkout.

the location, it's near the fashion valley mall, the freeways, downtown, etc. the room was dirty. the pool had broken glass (beer bottles), the hot tub was yellow, somebody in the 2nd floor smoked and left ashes and butts on the hood and windshield of my car. the bathroom floor was dirty. the bathroom door had a huge gap that could have been filled with caulk but wasn't. the light in the bathroom did not work. i paid $72 for this hotel. it was probably worth $22.

I like the free breakfast that was offered. It had somewhat of a variety and the staff was wonderful. The room was too small for my husband and I and two children. I thought it would be a little bit bigger. The hotel was very outdated and seemed a bit dirty.
