Pros: Room was beautiful and really comfortable. Huge bed with tons of pillows. The pool and hot tub facilities were great. The hotel was very clean and very quiet and peaceful. As a solo traveller I felt very at home and safe there.
Cons: Service wasn't unfriendly but not especially friendly either. Room service wasn't available when I tried to order it which was disappointing and unexpected.

Pros: This was our second stay at Villa Mazarin. Once again, we found it to be outstanding. The staff, the room, the common areas, the outside patio, the inside pool and jacuzzi, the location inside the walls of Aigues-Mortes, the restaurant - just can't be beat for a memorable stay. Highly highly recommended.

Pros: Large old nice room with large bathroom located on the second floor. No lifts to the old rooms in the building located on the entrance side. The beautiful restaurant which used to be highly ranked was nowadays outsourced and need to work a bit to get top points. A very nice SPA with in door pool, sauna and steam bath and gym.

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location - though parking wasn’t easy. Helpful staff on reception. Lovely old building with communal areas.
Cons: Crazy expensive breakfast meant we ate out. The room was nice but lacked something making it not the nicest place to relax, minimalist lighting made it too dark and it wasn’t the kind of room you would want to spend loads of time in. Albeit well designed just lacking something.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The building is very beautiful and the rooms are spacious and well designed. The communal spaces are lovely and relaxing. Staff were fantastic.
Cons: Breakfast was a little sparce, to say the least, but beautifully presented. There was hardly anything left when we went in at 9.30. I would have been rather unhappy if I had had to pay €18 for it. Luckily it was included in the room rate
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: 1. No doorbell to reception - I had to call a number in France for someone to open the door... 2. no lift to reception on 1st floor of tall stone staircase - I had to carry my own suitcase up the stairs!! 3. I was the only client in the hotel... 4. No staff: I was given a key and a beep to the hotel. When I tried to get back at 10.30pm, the beeper was not working/codes same. the number I was given to call was an answering machine - I was call back 45mn later... 5. The room I was given was soulless, clean but with no character. the outside light made it too bright all night. I slept badly. 6. I would not recommend this place to anyone... There are many better - and especially cheaper!!!! - options in Montpellier. Never again there!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stunning rooms and very quiet. Beautiful building. Good location in the old town but away from the main drags. A very lovely place.
Cons: Would've liked a mini bar in the room and better tea / coffee making facilities given the hotel has no bar etc. Would also have liked an iron.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful. It is a historical building in the old city and the suite we stayed at was just breathtaking and incredibly roomy. The common areas are also gorgeous & since the hotel isn’t crowded with only a couple rooms, you feel like you have the whole house to yourself. Attention to detail in the decor makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time.
Cons: There is no room service or restaurant other than a very simple breakfast on request. The property is more like an Airbnb with a concierge service (which didn’t bother us because it is one of the most beautiful properties in Montpellier) but for the price we would have preferred those added services. No lift (which is to be expected from a historical building) but good to be aware of beforehand.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really good communication before our stay, excellent quality rooms.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A perfect little hidden gem in Montpellier's old town. Splendid old palazzo. Furnished extraordinary. Friendly staff and a great breakfast too
Cons: Nothing. Maybe, that you need to walk the last mile to the hotel from a nearby car park. But hey, that's part of the experience and nothing the hotel could change ...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I didn’t have breakfast as I ate in cafes in Montpellier. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and I loved being only a few minutes walk from everything.
Oceania Montpellier - Montpellier - Building
5
8.8 Excellent (2,253 reviews)
S$ 187+
Overview Reviews
"This character hotel, ideally located in the centre of Montpellier just 2 minutes walk from the Place de la Comdie and and 50 m from the Gare St Roch tram stop, is discovering a new lease of life. We reopened the 26th of December 2016.After a year of extensive work, rediscover the 4-star Oceania Le Mtropole hotel since 26th December. The hotel successfully blends charm with modernity, with a light touch of exoticism, in the spirit of the great Belle Epoque luxury establishments. Behind its majestic faade, the hotel boasts a brand new area devoted to well-being with a hammam, fitness room, massage and a range of treatments, and the relaxation extends through to the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, bordered by the gardens palm trees, providing welcome shade for the terrace. From the hotels entrance and lobby, through the cosy English bar and La Closerie restaurant, not forgetting the prestigious lounges, the decoration has been completely restyled to restore all the venues former panache and character. The high ceilings, frescoes featuring romantic cherubs and prestigious parquet flooring have all been totally renovated to re-establish all the prestige of this magnificent 4-star hotel located right in the heart of Montpellier. Light is everywhere from the broad glass roof of the restaurant to the majestic stairway in the lobby, perfectly showcased by a magnificent and elegant suspension that floats in the air. As you wander the corridors, escaped budgerigars from the high glass roof are perched along the walls, inviting guests to continue their visit to our 96 rooms and suits. The decoration is personalised for each type of room, paying tribute to the different times of day: the warmth of the southern sunshine, a subtle blend of oranges and purples evoking a stunning late afternoon, or the enveloping gentleness of midnight blue and copper of the setting sun. "

Pros: Well located just a short walk from the centre; tram stop 1 minute away (tram service is excellent value, €1 per journey if you buy a batch of 10); quite a grand building; polite friendly staff; quiet comfortable rooms

Pros: Good location on the way to Aigue Mortes and just off the main road (but far enough not to hear the traffic) with a great restaurant in walking distance.
Cons: Thought we had booked two rooms (this is what we searched on Booking.com but the actual booking was for one room only) so the price we paid on the spot was a lot higher than we thought.

4.0 Okay
Pros: The location in Augues Mortes
Cons: Carrying luggage 2 floors up a stone spiral staircase. Standard small rooms you’d get in an Ibis. No tea/coffee making facilities. Staff glum and unhelpful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb! Couldn’t have been better. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was kept clean and had a very comfortable bed. We also had a private terrace accessible through a door from our room. Enjoyed relaxing there before going out for an evening meal. Aircon was reliable and effective. Essential with superb weather we had during our visit. The bathroom and shower were fine.
Cons: The room was small and didn’t provide enough storage for guests like ourselves who were there for a week. Safe was very small. Toilet was clean but tiny. Getting in and out for somebody tall like myself was an exercise especially in the middle of the night! Breakfast which we had on one morning was very nice but expensive! 15€ a head. Within 50 metres of the hotel breakfast could be had for less than 15€ for two. Enough when you’ve been out for a meal the previous evening.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: location is great, room and hotel in great shape and nicely furbished, friendly, helpful and attentive staff
Cons: Quite difficult to reach the hotel by car, better leave it outside city centre
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: all good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Self service breakfast as are most hotels. No dining, but plenty of places to eat nearby. Safe car parking in the tiny garage, but book this early. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing to do with the hotel, but certain roads are closed at various times of the day, meaning that when returning to the hotel we were never sure if we could get there. Sat nav was useless regarding this. However by having a residents pass, we always parked outside first, visited a cafe and checked the route was open before driving to the hotel. This was not a problem and a good excuse to sample more wonderful baking!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Small and quiet, funky decor and very friendly staff. Everything as it should be. Particularly nice garden setting for breakfast
Cons: No complaints

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, fantastic location and the bed was exceptionally comfortable . The staff was wonderful too. I highly recommend it if you happen to be in Montpellier.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are nice. The bathroom looks good and clean . The bed is comfy. Breakfast was verry good . Stylish little hotel in old town , the location is great , you can walk to the centre. Everythig is close . The staff is great , they speak english . We loved it .
Cons: The rooms are small but nice . Maybe some fresh tomatos at the breakfast would make it better.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The lady on reception was really kind the next day and offered me a nice breakfast after my bad night. On the downside, the aircon (heating) was broken in my room so I had to ask them to bring an extra blanket. And it was not a double bed - just 2 singles pushed together so you fell down the middle! I think the hotel should have told me it would cost 30euros to park - from 5pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday. They should give you detailed instructions on how to avoid paying this. Or at least tell you how much it would cost you if you park in the recommended car park. Unhappy sleeping experience.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, clean room
Cons: Nothing below expectation
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location Nice rooms with renovated bathrooms
Cons: We could not cool down the temperature of the room (AC did not work) and we could not turn off the heat (no way!). So the room was over 25ºC...it was hard to fall asleep They sold out of maps of the city and since we arrived at 7.30 pm we could not get another one from tourist office

8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely professional, helpful, and nice.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The guy at the evening reception was helpful and polite. TV was Chromecast capable which allowed us to watch Amazon Prime and German TV through our smartphone Historic Centre in walking distance / 10 minutes
Cons: Our room was not very clean - but on a still acceptable level when we moved in. Unfortunately the room service did not clean anything during our stay, and on three out of five days they did not appear at all. Hence we ran out of towels and toilet paper, had to ask for renewal of our kitchen towel, waste bin was not emptied and so on. On the days when they felt like doing our room, they did it on a minimum level. Bed was made without any love, no cleaning happened at all. Cutlery and glasses were dirty from the very beginning. Water tap in kitchen area was not tightened. Adjustment of air conditioning /heating was blocked. TV did not work on arrival, which was fixed by moving us into another room. No discount could be granted as a recovery of the above described points. All in all very disappointing and definitely our last stay in Appart city hotels.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Parking underground, very clean and big room. Everything is new. Very kind staff at the reception. Free water.
Cons: Breakfast a little bit expensive. It is 15 minutes-walking away from the city center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thank you here we felt very comfortable, the apartment has everything you need.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Didn't use the minikitchen, but the rest was all good.
Cons: Long walk indoors from our room to the elevator to the basement car park. Hard to determine how to open the door to leave the car park.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, new rooms.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to stay in Montpellier.
Cons: Breakfast could be better. There was a unpleasant fried food smell in the apartement. Neighbours were separated only with one inner-door that didnt hold any noise.

Pros: On site secure parking is a blessing with bike rack. No time to enjoy the indoor pool or underground skylit gym. Restaurant and bar both excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay at Villa Mazarin. Once again, we found it to be outstanding. The staff, the room, the common areas, the outside patio, the inside pool and jacuzzi, the location inside the walls of Aigues-Mortes, the restaurant - just can't be beat for a memorable stay. Highly highly recommended.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large old nice room with large bathroom located on the second floor. No lifts to the old rooms in the building located on the entrance side. The beautiful restaurant which used to be highly ranked was nowadays outsourced and need to work a bit to get top points. A very nice SPA with in door pool, sauna and steam bath and gym.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: modern, clean and comfortable room in a well equiped hotel on the quiet canal side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Swam in the pool on arrival - not a large or deep pool but refreshing after a day spent in the car! Staff were very friendly and efficient. Recommended a superb restaurant , Le Dit Vin - excellent! We ate breakfast in the pretty garden beside the canal. The balcony was lovely - admired the boats opposite and dried swimming things. Large bottle of water each day was much appreciated. Easy walk into town. Will definitely return.
