The White Elephant Hotel is the classic place to stay on Nantucket–an island landmark and one of my personal favorites. Located right on Brant Point, it’s not only close to everything in town, but also to where the ferry drops you off, so if you are arriving by ferry this is a great choice.
The White Elephant just went through a huge renovation, so its already chic rooms are recently refreshed and make for an amazing place to stay all year round. My top tip is to enjoy breakfast outside overlooking the water and return in the evening for a cocktail before dinner at the Brant Point Grill, which everyone calls BPG.
And, if you want to tour around, you will be happy to know that the White Elephant is really close to most things, like the White Heron Theater or the Nantucket Whaling Museum.

My greatest piece of advice: don’t miss their courtyard lounge, an ideal spot to unwind under the stars with a drink in hand, enjoying panoramic views of the quaint town below. And, because it is a Lark Hotel, they have a BYOB mixer bar each evening: just bring your favorite booze, and they will provide all the mixers you need to create the perfect cocktail.

For someone who has been to Nantucket many times and has already tried the trendy new hotels, I recommend booking a stay at the Jared Coffin House for the classic Nantucket experience. Whether you are staying at the hotel or not, book a dinner at the Nantucket Tap Room on the basement level of the hotel for an intimate, rainy-day dining experience with excellent food.
A bowl of clam chowder paired with a nice glass of wine is what dreams are made of. From its inviting rooms adorned with antique furnishings to its central location, Jared Coffin House offers a captivating experience that pays homage to Nantucket’s storied past.

Another Lark Hotels location on the island, 76 Main is housed in a stately captain’s home not far from the island’s famous cobblestone main street. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you feel as if you have entered your very own summer house on Nantucket.
Similar to 21 Broad in design, as they are both funky chic Larks, this property is a bit more polished and serious, befitting its stately architecture. Don’t miss the complimentary breakfast each morning. As a Lark hotel, expect small bites that are healthy and tasty, freshly-brewed coffee, and more.
To make sure you see the best of Nantucket, I recommend that you take advantage of the hotel’s proximity to Theatre Workshop of Nantucket and Hadwen House, which are just steps away from 76 Main.

For a stay in one of the top-rated hotels in Nantucket, I recommend the Seven Sea Street Inn. For an authentic bed and breakfast experience and true island hospitality, you are in for a treat. Inside you will find a New England style in all the areas of the hotel, but what I love is the homey feel of the rooms and the care they have been decorated with.
Think unique furnishing, carpets over wooden floors, a fireplace in some rooms, and a calming sea view. If the weather allows it, you simply must take your breakfast outdoors – you are guaranteed to fall in love with the garden.
If you want to rent a car, you will appreciate the free on-site parking and if you need to work while there, a business center will accommodate you. The inn’s central location is another plus.
