A very attractive modernisation of a series of old buildings at the core extending to modern wings containing bedrooms with the expected amenities. A rural, riverside setting within 3 miles of the city centre
The location, with the Thames at the bottom of the garden, is tranquil. The room was spacious and comfortable. The entrance hall/lobby was welcoming with an open fireplace. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of variety, although the juices were not fresh. The pool was small but nice.
The bathroom was small. The food at the restaurant was bland (seafood linguine, mashed potato, salmon fishcakes were all tasteless). With many conferences taking place the hotel is noisy in the morning with doors banging. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were not particulary welcoming, nor helpful. The same annoying music was played on loop for the duration of our visit. For £150 per night we would expect much more and were very disappointed overall. There was no personal touch that you would expect in a hotel of this class. Needless to say we will to stay there again.
The hotel was very impressive and in a lovely location by the river. The staff were friendly and the room was nice and clean.
The service for food at the bar was very slow and we had to chase them after half an hour. Not very good considering the price.
courteous attentive staff good food lovely setting comfortable rooms.
Staff excellent, interior reception and lounge area very inviting.Grounds very well kept.
Disappointed with bedroom, connoisseur ,for the price, also breakfast rather greasy.
