Mercure Hotel Sapporo - Sapporo - Building
1
8.6 Excellent (7,318 reviews)
S$ 159+
Overview Reviews
The Mercure Sapporo enjoys a location in the popular entertainment district of Susukino, renowned for its many bars and restaurants. Offering easy access to the Sapporo ski resorts and attractions such as the Clock Tower and Sapporo TV Tower, this hotel has it all, including a shopping mall within the building. Featuring 285 rooms equipped with complimentary Internet access, plus a French restaurant and conferencing facilities, the Mercure Hotel Sapporo is ideal for both business and leisure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is highly strategic. Surrounded by an abundance of food options, shopping option, easy access to 2 subway lines. Also being 2 stations away from Sapporo JR station is a welcome bonus. Availability of an airport bus just across the road, coach services to Niseko resorts. I could go on...
Cons: The wardrobe in the doorway. Whilst it's purposeful and utilitarian, I was unable to store my luggage in, and out of the walkway. But not a deal breaker. Maybe having a weighing scale would be helpful in the bathroom. But wait, cancel that, after all the overeating in the vicinity.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and cosy room. Good location.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and the accommodation is so clean. Although it is not close to Sapporo station, it is only 2 stops from it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - location, clean, food, hospitality
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mercury isnt too close to the Sapporo station but is also in a very good location.. Minutes walk from the subway, many restaurants and shopping around, and the morning market is within a few minutes walk. Only drawback I can think of is the room is a bit small.... After you open a suitcase it becomes difficult to walk around.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel are in the city center its near from susukino and you can walk around to get some food also near subway. They have a cheaps shop (daiso). And if you like a high brand the hotel near from marumai mall. The mall sell gucci, balenciaga, and etc
Cons: The price a quite expensive

Pros: Everything

S$ 102+

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Slight walking distance from the metro and shopping street but for the price and size of room (larger than usual Japanese sizes), it is acceptable
Cons: Dated
6.0 Good
Pros: It was conveniently located. The rooms are spacious, but it was no four-star. The bathrooms were kind of gross. It was not very upgraded or modern.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located quite neighborhood which is still closed to restaurants, department stores, and izakaya. We only had limited times when we interacted with the staffs but they are friendly and respectful.
Cons: Distance from Sapporo station
7.0 Good
Pros: wonderful breakfast, convenient place
Cons: I didn't catch the snow shuttle due to the wrong message given by the staff. the hotel has two gates, and the snow shuttle only parks and waits at the side door instead of the main gate. I asked the female staff at the main gate for more than two times and each time I was told to keep waiting inside the main gate. finally we missed the snow shuttle. and the reason why we chose this hotel is for the direct snow shuttle. at last, a Chinese staff gave a phone call to the bus company and told me that the snow shuttle had already gone.
6.0 Good
Pros: The room is quite big
Cons: Everything is just normal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and super friendly staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: Next to Odori Park and close walk to Odori station (Sapporo Station not too far ~25mins walk).
Cons: Looks worse off than pictures show - carpet looks old, worn out, and dirty. Similar comment for the walls and bathroom.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was exactly what I asked for, I thought the ice sculptures from the snow festival were still on display from the week prior but they were just piles of snow. My fault for not doing more research. We walked everywhere and took the train to another town, easy to get too and if we needed a cab there was usually one waiting by the bell area. The staff was very friendly and helpful even with the language barrier they understood what we were asking. We ate at the breakfast buffet one day since we didn't pay extra for free breakfast. That was very good but we went late so we didn't get to eat that much but that was our fault for not checking when it ends.
Cons: The ONLY thing we noticed was the carpets in the hotel rooms were obviously stained, our room as well as others around. When they clean the rooms all the doors are open and we could see inside and noticed the carpets in there as well. It is vacuumed well just stains that are permanent. I would suggest updating the carpets.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff
Cons: Too much breakfast

Cons: I would like to see the restaurant open in evening!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Onsen available. Close to everything.
Cons: Parking is expensive and not free for guests. Onsen is a bit small and can get crowded.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Although it's not directly connected to the underground walkway, it's very near (less than 5 min walk) and its also right across the road to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Fabulous Onsen. A very conveniently located hotel! The breakfast buffet was good quality. Good size rooms for Japan.
Cons: Bed & pillows in residential part were uncomfortable, but the hotel beds were much better! The buffet options didn’t vary at all over three days.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was ideal! It is a short walk to Odori Park where the snow festival was. It was a shorter to the Tanukikoji, for those who like shopping! I was surprised that they even had an Onsen (3rd and 5th floors), though these were not spectacular. But still nice!
Cons: I did not find the beds and pillows very comfortable. I also wished that they provided 2 pillows per guest.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: I was traveling with a group of friends that were staying in a different hotel and the location to their hotel was amazing. The food was tasty, staff was accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, I would recommend and stay here again.
Cons: The staff could have been more fluent in English or the signs for the breakfast items should have included a better description of the food item and/or ingredients. I have a shellfish allergy and it was very difficult trying to relay this information due to the language barrier. By day 3, we were finally able to know which items contained shellfish. LOL.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Carpark have to pay
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Housekeeping was wonderful. Room was clean and big with a sofa and 2 beds. Sofa can be transformed to a third bed. Unblocked view from the window from our corner room on level 14. Bed was comfortable. Pyjamas were provided and changed everyday. Would definitely book again whenever I visit Sapporo. It's near to a lot of restaurants and transport. And there's free bus service to Sapporo station. Didn't try the food in the hotel because there were so many options near by. There is a quaint bakery near by with yummy cakes and bakes, definitely have to try! Highly recommend Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room size and view outside the window
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The size of the room, the furnitures, the view and the staff

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, the breakfast is also delicious. Well served.
Cons: None
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a bit not too happy that when doing the booking, have selected 2 rooms for a total of 4 pax...booking is only for 1 pax in each room. Ended up need to pay additional cost for the second person in each room. Still reasonable priced, but booking.com shd have highlighted in my booking (not sure if I've missed out the details, cos tot have requested room for 4 pax n booking.com shd have already taken care of it)
Cons: Everything turns out good. Conveniently located with subway and bus options to/from airport & Niseko.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Cons: 0 flexibility in price of the hotel after raising substantial fare difference due to ongoing virus situation. Paid c. $250 (excluding breakfast) where price on the day was c. $100. Hotel didn't consider free upgrade as i needed to change from a single double to a twin room and made this chargeable, didn't provide free late check-out insisting this was chargeable (don't believe the hotel was full either) nor include breakfast to make the situation better. Small room. Staff attitude was transactional and cold.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near to Sappporo Station. Cleanliness of hotel room.
Cons: It would be great if hotel would provided bottle of drinking water in the room daily!
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff is very nice and helpful, they helped us reserve the restaurants and offered assistance to us when we need help.
Cons: The hair dryer was not clean and in bad condition. I asked staff for help and they quickly replaced it.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great, breakfast was phenomenal (get it), location very easy to navigate, good price, room was comfortable size, hot spa was beautiful (& necessary after that hard bed)
Cons: The bed is extremely hard..believe the other reviews. I asked for an extra mattress pad, which staff was very good about providing, but I agree with others that it feels like a box spring without a mattress. But it's the ONLY con.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location . Friendly staff. Lovely onsen,
Cons: The rooms were small particularly the bathrooms but this is typical of Japan.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Totally worth the money spent. The onsen was a big plus for me. Wish I would have booked it for my entire trip.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is excellent avec very reactive in case there are some noise issues in the room for example.
Cons: The rooms are a little smaller than expected but really clean so it was still very enjoyable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I love this hotel for the hot spa on the first floor, ”Very Fancy” as a good restaurant on the first floor too and value price. They also have an Eco package that if you don’t use a cleaning service you can receive a gift or extend the checkout time. Really good location that I and my boyfriend walked to many good places and have a good time. The restaurant on the first floor has a really good breakfast and I think you should try and it has a good view of a snow day too. They also put a handy phone that you can take out with you use wifi or calling domestic or international for free. Really good service. I would stay again if I visit Sapporo in the future.
Cons: The room was very clean but a bit small and the bed is a little hard.

Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location and wonderful staff. Room size is adequate with beautiful view of the city but the bathroom is small. There are 2 breakfast areas with plenty to choose from but they are both always crowded and the waiting time for a table can be long.
Cons: For the rate the hotel charges, access to the spa and relaxation room should be included.
7.9 Good
Pros: It was near the underground passageway. The staff were polite
Cons: The shower had a fishy smell the entire stay. The pillows were a bit small & not too soft.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast.

Pros: The staffs are excellent!! Very helpful and friendly as always. My partner have knee issue after ski and we got very helpful assistance from the staffs. The location is also excellent because the hotel located at JR station and adjacent to shopping malls. Breakfast choice is superb.
Cons: The room is quite small although I stayed for 2 types of room. The bigger one doesn’t really feel bigger, but that’s not a big deal. The thing that I quite didn’t enjoy this time is the smell from the pipe in the bathroom.

They were friendly and helpful. They went out of there way to make our stay special. I would stay there again in a minute.
Cons: An onsen would have been nice, but that is really minor. I guess the other thing would be to have to cover charge in the wine bar for guests, but with the drink coupons and entry coupon we never paid cover.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect for walking to Odori Park and surrounding areas. Staff were very helpful and friendly and room was comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel 20ish mins away from Sapporo station. Was worried my non-smoking room would still smell cigarettes but it didn’t smell at all. Super clean and modern, great stylish design. Staff is polite and courteous. Great Onsen on the 9th floor. Breakfast is 1800 yen (if paying separately) good variety of western and japanese foods
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have much expectations for the hotel due to low price. Only booked it for location to shuttle transfer to Niseko early that morning so didn't want anything more than just a place to rest my head... Was hugely impressed with everything about the hotel. Staff were incredibly polite, helpful and professional. Not just efficient but genuinely putting in the effort to help with every issue. Rooms were way better than I expected. I'm a non-smoker and they only had smoking rooms so I feared the worst but genuinely wouldn't have been able to tell – room was so clean and fresh. Room itself was far larger than I thought, super modern and well designed (just like the rest of the place). Fantastic location. couple of minutes from the nearest metro stop and easy access of pretty much everything I needed (restaurants, bars, shops) If the room had have cost time the price I still think it would have been an excellent deal. Will definitely book here next time I visit Sapporo
Cons: Nothing really, to suggest they could do better for that price would be unfair to the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Onsen in hotel is a great plus. Didn’t try to restaurant so no comment there. 7/11 right across the street and a small grocery store on street level.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness is up to 5stars hotel standard. It’s just a walking distance to attraction places.
Cons: It would be better if improve the sound proof system. Can hear the footsteps from guests who’s staying upstairs.

Pros: Very good service and clean environment.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Overall, this was a very nice stay. Reasonably-sized rooms for Japan, pleasant staff, and overall a good value. Being across the street from the Sapporo Factory mall with lots of good dining and shopping options makes up for the fact that it's not very close to downtown (plus there is literally ALWAYS a taxi immediately available). Breakfast, while not included, was still a good deal with their coupon.
Cons: It was farther from the city center than I would have liked, and I would have liked in-room coffee and not only green tea, but that is pretty minor. Our mini-fridge did not work but we managed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The triple room was large and comfortable. We loved the bathroom.
Cons: It was a pretty long walk from the main part of Sapporo especially with luggage and in winter.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast along with the service was perfect. Location and expert help from the concierge was of great benefit for our need. Organising for our bus travel to the Ski resort and overall courtesy was excellent.
Cons: Everything was great
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It's located in the heart of Sapporo, it's easy to get around from the location. The room came included with nice robes and slippers. If you can book with the meals I would highly recommend it. There's three excellent brunch spots to choose from with 2 being buffets.
Cons: It was probably because I was staying during the Sapporo Snow Festival that it costs more than $300 a night but it was still too rich for my blood.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location that was walking distance to many tourist sites, restaurants, and transportation. It had several comprehensive breakfast buffets. Lots of bathroom samples and extras.
Cons: The room itself was clean but felt a bit outdated and worn, especially the bathroom, as did the hallway. Room seemed larger in photo.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent, centrally located to most everything in Sapporo. Staff provided good service. There is luggage storage if you arrive before 15:00 (note that early check-in is not possible).
Cons: Mattress was too firm for me. Room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was in a non-smoking floor.
