Comfy bed, clean towels, close to the city center.. That's about it.
The staff was rude and condescending. The hotel does not even sell coffee / tea during the day. They don't do cashback for the vending machine. If you check in, ask for a room which is NOT on the lower ground : the windows do not open, giving the rooms a constant musty smell, and a gloomy appearance. From far the worst accomodation I've had, and I've been in this lovely city several times. Several things went missing from my room after the maid came by, and do not expect a response from management, they won't take the time to see you.
The answer from the manager the day after agreeing in giving me a discount.
My flight was cancelled and I called to ask to change my booking to the day after and the receptionist didn't show any interest in helping me. However I got an answer email after I wrote to the manager asking a discount the day after and the answer was positive.
The bed was not that comfortable
Good location. Away from crowds but not too far from the centre.
The room was in a cellar. No windows, weird smell. Uncomfortable beds.
Amsterdam, Netherlands is a happening city. The Alfred Hotel is close to all of the action of the city but has a calm and comfortable atmosphere for guests to enjoy once they’re done with their days.
The hotel, including its 107 rooms, have all been renovated recently. The style of the rooms is mostly chic. Rooms range from a very small Souterrain Twin Room up to a Souterrain Quad Room. Some that are popular are San Tommaso for Italian and pizza, Graham’s Kitchen for good vegan choices, Zaza’s for French, and Benny’s Chicken for some good Dutch fast food.
The area around the hotel is very kid-friendly. There are beautiful, wide streets that are lined with trees to walk down. Vondelpark isn’t far from the property. The Rijksmuseum is within walking distance. There are also several other museums in the area. There’s Flower Market, the Heineken Experience, and Rembrandt Square that are close by, also.
The Alfred Hotel is in the Museum Quarter in the south district of Amsterdam. This is the perfect location for those who like to get out and take in the arts and cultural experiences that an area offers.
