We did not purchase insurance through Sixt, but rather through our credit card company. The gas tank came about 7/8 full; this was noted on our walk through prior to driving the car off of the airport lot. No worries there; gas stations are plentiful all around the airport.

Driving was very easy. Just yield to the motorbikes as they are everywhere. Drove around the entire island on the first day. Took approximately 2 hours making stops along the way. If you have a smaller economy car you may have some issues with ground clearance on some of the back roads up in the hills of the interior hills( dont trust your GPS maps to make that distinction for you) otherwise it was very easy to get around on your own on the island!

This was a super easy rental car experience. From booking, to payment, to picking up the car, to dropping it off -- everything was smooth and efficient. Communications with the Sixt representatives at Koh Samui airport was very helpful. The car was clean and came without issue. I would definitely rent with Sixt again!
They confirmed a different vehicle to what I required I call to discuss this and there was no answer. I went to the office and there was no empathy at all for my situation and we cancelled the order online.
