The lobby is of good space and with a handful of seats, usually occupied during our stay. There is an expected gym, spa and outdoor pool as well. Location is interesting, it is just outside the University MTR Station on the East Rail Line, putting visitors at the Border Crossing to China or into the Kowloon Peninsula in relatively quick time. Onward connections to the rest of the city are reasonable from this otherwise isolated location in Sha Tin along Tolo Harbour. Our room was spacious and overall very comfortable. Furnishing leans towards functional over luxury but still nice - something you could say about most Hyatt properties. Bed was large, medium firmness and comfortable, affording good rest. Seating chair comfort was just ok. Room includes expected work station, rolling chair, large flat screen TV, plenty of closet and drawer space, ironing board, fridge, kettle, safe, good lighting, working A/C, strong wifi signal and a large bathroom with bath and shower. The space is much larger than what you'll find in similar properties in more centrally located areas of TST and Hong Kong Island while room rates are very reasonable as well.
Not much in the form of restaurants, bars or sightseeing within the immediate area. However, you are two MTR stations away from the New Town Plaza Shopping mall. The hotel has two feature restaurants Sha Tin 18 (Chinese) and Cafe (Western and buffet), a 24 hour Patisserie and evening lounge bar called Tin Tin Bar for those who don't want to travel away from the hotel for meals.
The room is spacious but curtain bit broken. The bed was extremely big and above average in HK.
Staff not as friendly as expected as a 5 star hotel and the entrance is bit difficult to find. Breakfast buffet was okey only not much to choose from.
It is clean and staff are polite
There are no USB sockets in the room for charging. You must bring your charger. I guess most customers find the same issue, all the chargers were lent from the night to next morning. I have to take the bus to go to convenience store in the science park to rent the charger. It was the first time I experienced such issue in a 4/5 star hotel.
