The personal touch and the little extras in the room as well as the tea & coffee: chocolate biscuits, bags of crisps, hot chocolate for example.
The breakfast was excellent, I have dietary requirements and the were completely catered for, I struggle with this in many places so was really greatful for everything that was provided. The female owner was friendly and chatty and couldn’t fault her or anything she did :-)
Just after I arrived the male owner showed me my room, I was new to the area and even though I asked about where a certain place was he wasn’t very forthcoming with information. It was the hospital I was looking for so a well known place in Inverness. He asked if I was walking to which I said yes and he just said it was quite a walk. No information on buses or taxis etc (there is a bus at the far end of the road by the way, as I found it while heading to find the hospital) there was an issue with my door lock - it’s an older lock which works fine if you’re shown how to use it, however, I wasn’t and when I went looking for the same male owner I couldn’t find him. I knocked on various doors that said apricate or dining room 2 or 3 times and couldn’t find anyone to help. I had to go outside the property and ring the doorbell and the owner then appeared. Had the owner shown me the lock in the first place then I wouldn’t be writing about it now.
Everything. Extremely clean and comfortable. A very good choice of breakfast from cereals, fruit, yoghurt, petit pains, crepe etc. . A very relaxed environment. Janet very friendly and always on hand to make your stay a very pleasant one.
They women was absolutely wonderful. She helped with my luggage and prepared to order breakfast for everyone in the morning.
There was nothing I didn’t like
No fuss, friendly welcome. Easy ‘on street’ parking and The Ivanhoe has a clean and warm ambience immediately obvious on arrival. The breakfast was the best B&B breakfast I’ve ever had ! Highly recommended.
If you’re after a Ritz experience then The Ivanhoe which provides a value for money service may not be for you.
