8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the views are unbeatable. The food (restaurant and breakfast) was great.
Cons: That hotel is so big. Finding the restaurant was kind of a challenge.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, stunning structure and scenery all around, a real feeling of being secluded and away without the giving up of comfort. Rooms are spacious and quiet, and beds are very comfortable.
Cons: At breakfast, they stopped restocking some of the food about 30 minutes before closing time, and some staff members (not all, but some) can be unprofessional or with a bit of "not caring" attitude - we were told we should go sit in some other room that looked more like a tiny cafe with small tables, when there was actually more space in the main hall. Same thing at dinner in their restaurant - service was not very professional, and the variety of food was nothing "wow" (something you'd expect when you leave €150-€200 for two people). Other than that all else was good.
4.0 Okay
Cons: A lot. Bit of a strange hotel this. Reminded me of the hotel in The Shining. No one to meet you when you pull up in the car. Reception not clearly indicated (which door you had to go). Floors are strangely labeled. There where other guests but the hotel felt empty and cold. Room had only small windows so felt caved in. Also there was a rumbling noise from I guess the HVAC system throughout the night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful with gorgeous views to the River Rhein, Bonn and Königswinter. The historical building is very well designed and offer many different areas and rooms for guests to enjoy their stay including an outdoor biergarten. The recently renovated spa, swimming pool and gym areas are definitely a highlight. The bedroom was clean, spacious, and really comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! The restaurant, bistro and cafe also offer affordable options for guests even in such prime property.
Cons: When you book a five star hotel you do not expect to find dirty and torn bathrobes in your room. We could have just ignored that but to access the spa and swimming pool area you need to wear one. When new bathrobes were requested I was asked to go downstairs to the reception as I had to show the bathrobes and justify why I needed clean and not damaged ones. After leaving the bathrobes in the reception a staff member came to the room and asked to see the ones we had. I explained to him that I left the bathrobes at the reception. I thought that was unnecessary as they could have just believed in me but I also thought "well... maybe thats the German way of handling things". My surprise was to find out that they could not offer us two bathrobes for men because each room must have one bathrobe for a man and one bathrobe for a woman. Wi-fi does not work well in the spa, gym and swimming pool areas. The Hotel does not offer a shuttle service from / to the closest train station (Königswinter). If you do not have a car then the only way to go up and down the hill is by taxi or walking (3.2 km - 50 minutes walk). Please consider that while planning your trip. With some more training staff could easily become more friendly and more service oriented. English is still a challenge for many members of staff even in such international environment.
7.0 Good

Cons: The quality (of the food, drinks, breakfast) was not as you would expect in a hotel from this level. The "muzak" during breakfast was horrifying.

Cons: Crazy road to hotel

8.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed there while I was sick, so I did not get out much in my four nights there.
Cons: The cleaning people ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door more than once.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The employees were very nice and the room looked exactly like the pictures.
Cons: The facilities said that there would be a bath and we did not get one. We only had a shower.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice. Clean rooms. Nice view.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Updated rooms, liked the “digital” shower, didn’t see that before in hotels, works well. Good beds, nice pool/sauna. Good breakfast with view over the Rhine! and tram 66 takes you to downtown Bonn in 30 minutes. In walking distance of the Drachenfels bahn.
Cons: Very personal, but not good pillows (I have to say that I am picky, I like sturdy pillows). Breakfast area was very (too) warm and carpet is not of this day and age... And I think we were the youngest guests around, and being in our late 30’s that tells you something
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good and comfortable room, great breakfast.
Cons: Pool and sauna area had been refurbished but changing areas were badly designed and small. Pool was quite cool.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel met my expectations. I found the room very spacious for the kids to play in as well as very clean. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Location is really nice and for our route was very convenient. Loved the the toys's angle at the restaurant so that parents could relax while eating.
Cons: Missed Eng menu on the tables. With two kids simply didn't have time to ask if there was any somewhere else.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Don't know. The hotel was closed. I arrived at 23:00 hours to find a note on the door with a phone number.
Cons: That I could book a hotel that was closed. Actually I am very pissed off. It is really bad when you book a hotel because you are too tired to drive and find it closed.
7.9 Good
Pros: Located on hillside out of town- not walking distance to town, Large property for walking and hiking and nice breakfast and check in area, pleasant and helpful staff.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location as we were traveling down the A3
4.0 Okay
Cons: The toilet was dirty. The floor in the bedroom was dusty. No chair in the room which is normal and always there on previous stays. The secure garage is a bonus.
6.7 Good
Pros: pretty standard rooms for ibis budget. normal bed, small shower and toilet etc. receptionists were friendly and helpful. breakfast was very basic. boiled egg, bread, ham, cheese, corn flakes. nothing special. parking was pretty full. i believe i took last free lot
Cons: towels were stinking. another thing - checkout is at 12AM. but at 9AM houskeeping knocked on my door and entered my room. when i said i need no housekeeping, she started to shout at me something in german and loudly shut the door. i find this unacceptable. room didn’t have dnd sign to put on the door. i had really hard day before and wanted to have a proper sleep. and then somebody comes in and shouts at me. this is inappropriate. other than that stay was ok.
Hotel Bergischer Hof - Königswinter - Bedroom
7
8.1 Excellent (291 reviews)
S$ 77+
Overview Reviews
This family-run hotel is located in the heart of Königswinter, 200 metres from the River Rhine. Hotel Bergischer Hof offers free WiFi. Looking back on over 100 years of history, the hotel is traditionally furnished in a rustic charm. All rooms include a wardrobe, desk, flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower. Hotel Bergischer Hof is ideal for hikers and cyclists, and is just 200 metres from the path leading up to the Siebengebirge Nature Park. The Drachenfels mountain is 1.5 km away. Public parking spaces can be found near the hotel for a small daily charge. It is 14 km from the centre of Bonn and 30 km from Cologne-Bonn Airport.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean rooms, decent breakfast is available at extra cost.
Cons: No fans or air conditioning available or offered during our stay or to guests. Rooms were very warm which made sleeping uncomfortable/ impossible even with open windows. And yes, Germany is also know to get warm during summer months so heat is no unknown factor. Loud noises made it unable to sleep during the night due to a train station with trains passing approximately 200 meters away. Parking available, but 200 meters away from hotel for 4 Euros a day (24hrs.) which caused difficulties with loading and unloading. Stairs, no elevator available rooms located on second and third floors with steep steps. Entry way was untidy. Room furnishings were old fashion but clean. Public swimming pools may be available but not on site. We were able to hear discussions and complaints of another customer, held in a public environment with the owner of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super friendly and very welcoming, my room was large and the facilities very nice. I'll choose this place again when I'm in town next time. I did not try the breakfast, since I was in town for a wedding and breakfast was part of the event, but the rooms looked very cozy and beautiful. Can only recommend this place!
Cons: Nothing, I enjoyed my stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very nice and hospitable
Cons: We liked everything about it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. It's a small family-run hotel, rooms a bit outdated but clean and comfortable. No luxury but that's not what we were looking for, so we were very happy about the stay. Königswinter is quite small but the hotel is in an excellent location, close to the Ubahn station and several cafes and restaurants. They offer breakfast - you pay for it separately - it was simple but tasty.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really cozy and warm, looks and feels like a family house. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, every comfort was included. Overall a very nice experience.
Cons: A little too pricey and no lift to the upper floor.

7.5 Good
Pros: Room was fine, clean, breakfast was good. Rhine and an excellent walkway along the water was just behind the hotel. Host was very nice.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine.
Cons: The Clock in the office were so loud, and every half hour banging.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Not suitable for disabled as bed and toilet too low for comfortable use.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was confortable, very clean and smelled really good. Good internet, the staff is helpful, good breakfast.
Cons: If you travel for the Trade Fair in Koln and are not renting a car, please be aware that the hotel is about 40-45 minutes from Koln Trade Fair and Central Train station. The 0 transfer trains pass every 38 or 45 minutes from the nearest train stop (Niederdollendorf) which is about 8 minute walk from the property. Taxi may be expensive as well.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: not suitable for disabled, beds and toilet too low, but good in every other respect
4.2 Okay
Pros: Friendly owner of the hotel. Nice appearance of the building. Comfortable mattresses. And I guess that is all.
Cons: The check-out is at 10-30. At 10-25 the lady opened my room with her own key and just dropped by my room without even preventing. Honestly I was getting my clothes - and that was so terrible. If she said something I would have some time to put on my jeans or something. Well anyway I still had my 5 minutes, she still could warn that she was coming. The room was on the ground floor, a cold one. And it was a strange smell in the room. One towel was dirty, but i had another one, so I didn't complain about it. in the morning I asked personnel not to clean my room (I have only one clean towel there - didn't want to take a chance to get another dirty one instead). I asked because there was no sign "do not disturb". The lady said ok! I went to the city and when i came back - I found out that they "cleaned" my room, well cleaning means they took away the clean towel that i left on the hook in the bathroom - and that's it. Well that is something I can't understand, in European hotels if you want to use the towel again - you leave it on the hook as I did, if you want to change it then you throw it on the floor. Another funny thing- towel for feet in the bathroom that was left on the floor, they did't change either, just fold it (with all the dirty from the floor and put it in the bath), nice surprise when I started to unfold it (sarcasm). At first when I just checked in I though that it is quit nice hotel in very old style but cozy, After nights there I completely changed my mind. The ground floor room was so noisy because of constant rattling with dishes in the kitchen, that was in few meters from the room. the pilow was so jelly and flat. The sink in the bathroom was stucked. You open the crane and the water starts to fill in the sink. At some point you have to close the crane to avoid flooding. Oh and there is no water in the room or water-cooler or kettler. No shampoo or shower gel. Just one peace of soap.

5.8 Okay
Pros: good and early breakfast
Cons: it's not in Königswinter, it's 4 km up in the mountains on the border of Heisterbacherrott and Thomasberg; very oldschool atmosphere, like a retirement home, with a tv not working in my room and in radio-only mode in a neighbor room.

Pros: I truly enjoyed my stay at Schlesien Haus. My room was small but very cosy and had beautiful windows that looked into the park, forest. It was just like in a fairy tale. I was there for a wedding reception which took place downstairs so it was very convenient. If I am in Bonn again, I will definitely stay there again. Also the breakfast had gluten free options which was important for me. And the coffee was very good. Shower was nice and hot and strong. I liked everything.

Pros: Königswinter is a pleasant town on the Rhine and the hotel was perfectly situated on the main street close to the Rhine. There's a bar on a boat which was good and the meal there was fine.
Cons: Parking near the hotel was a problem and we had to park in insecure on-street parking some distance from the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel with amazing local wine choice)

4.0 Okay
Cons: Worst wifi
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: To be honest - nothing.
Cons: We were at the fair in Cologne and I booked 3 rooms for our group. The place is not that close to Cologne, thus we firstly had the walk, meetings and dinner in Cologne and afterwards went to the hotel. I called the guy at 21:00(front-desk open till 22:00) to let them know that we need to check-in after the working hours. The guy got really angry and started shouting that we have had to check their working hours before making a booking and so on.... Well, I travel pretty often in Germany and 80% of cases I do late check-in. Has never ever been an issue. At the end he said he will leave the door open (with note that if someone meanwhile locks it he doesn't know how we will enter) and he will leave rooms unlocked and keys inside. He said he will charge us "late check-in" fee for that. Can you imagine ?! :D I have never ever been charged "late check-in" fee. We arrived and managed to enter our rooms. However in all rooms the windows were opened and heating was off. That's on 6th of October. Temperature outside was max 7-8C. You can imagine the temperature in room. White bears were walking around...:) Till we woke up in the morning the rooms weren't heated up enough. In morning I had an argue with the guy. He tried to excuse himself by saying something like "well, everybody has his days...., we are here 365 days/year", but he kept the late check-in fee and at all I didn't get the impression he had any idea about basic customer service, as he has probably never been out from the basement where is his front desk. Wouldn't go there again.
7.5 Good
Pros: Price
Cons: No reception and instructions for arrival in English. , I had to wonder around before realising that the room is open The parking lot was not avalible, had to improvise blocking other car
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is OK.
Cons: It was problematic to receive the invoice before departure, although payment was done in advance. Also we paid for the breakfast, but there was no information at what time it is, so as we had to leave the hotel early in the morning, we stayed without breakfast. Owner should be more hospitable to the guests.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Easy to find
Cons: We informed them before hand that we would arrive late, and they said no problem as long as you call in number. We called the number they never picked up we arrived at the room and it was open for us but we did get charged for five euros more and that didn’t worth the stay. I contacted them afterwards but silence.

Pros: Everything else than pillows
Cons: Pillows are not good at all..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, with natural surroundings and breathtaking view
