10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean hostel with a nice patio and shared kitchen. Our double room was very comfortable, the matress was very good and the air in the room was always fresh thanks to the big fan. They organize a shuttle to Rincon de la Vieja volcanic national park, which is worth a trip.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, helpful staff.
5.4 Okay
Pros: At check-in, received helpful map pointing out sights and eats
Cons: Way too basic: no ac, bathroom shared by many, no towels, no floor mat,
7.0 Good
Pros: Big fluffy pillows! Comfy bed
Cons: Besides one hook and 2 night tables, nowhere to put stuff....a shelf,or more hooks would have been appreciated
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Good value for the little we payed, we had AC in our room and a comfortable bed. Nice hammocks in the garden! Good vibe.
Cons: A guy next door kept moaning for a very long time, making awkward noise. Made us feel a bit sketchy. Nevertheless we slept well so this place does the trick I assume.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean comfortable hostel. Good location; close to busstation, supermarket, Some restaurant. Friendly owner. Room and shared bathroom are clean. Nice garden with open air kitchen.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful in providing information on the neighborhood (e.g. where to find the nearest ATM) and bus schedules. Part of why we chose this location is that it was near the inter-city bus terminal, which was very convenient!
Cons: The only downside is that there was no hot water in the shower. However, my understanding is that this is fairly common in CR so not fair to dock the property because of this - moreso something for other travelers to be aware of.
Hotel Villa Hermosa - Liberia - Building

9.0 Excellent (493 reviews)
S$ 54+
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a family run hotel and the whole family is very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel area was nifty. The breakfast was fine as well, the "kitchen" was also a good place to get to know other fellow travellers. City center is about 15min walk distance, supermarket is next to the hotel and there are also a few places to get something for a dinner in the vicinity. All in all, it was a nice short stay and I'd stay here the next time I'm in Liberia.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice simple hotel located in Liberia. 1 km to nice local restaurant and a market just outside of motel. Staff very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I landed quite late but my shuttle was waiting for me! It was my first time to a place like Costa Rica and I was traveling alone, but Emanuel made me feel so comfortable! He helped me with my bag, gave recommendations and a mini tour of the city on the drive to the hotel, and made the check in process so easy and seamless. I wasn’t very hungry in the morning so I didn’t have any of the included breakfast, but a plate of fresh cut fruit was prepared for me! Coffee was amazing. I would absolutely recommend a stay here and will come back in the future!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are amazing and so helpful!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was incredibly kind. Good value for the service. Bed was comfortanble. Facilities were very clean.
Cons: Only suggestion for travelers could be to travel with earbuds, because the rooms are not fully soundproof with noise from the outside.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Perfect place for an over ightbeteeen our flight from NYC and our journey to Manuel Antonio
Cons: Accommodations were very basic. Couldn’t get hot water for shower.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The made to order breakfast was excellent. Hostess suggested a nice restaurant that we could walk to for dinner after we arrived. AC worked well and in room fridge kept our newly purchased groceries cold. Shower was warm and bathroom was clean. Great room for families to stay in.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Always a pleasure to stay. Family is very gracious and wants to make your stay the best!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were exceptionally nice, fresh individually made breakfast and it's family owned and operated so you get well taken care of. Great communication as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family that runs this hostel is amazing and very charming. They make you feel like home. The breakfast is very good as well. Thank you for the hospitality! We highly recommend!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: We were comfortable right away!! Our hosts were inviting, friendly, helpful and fun. Their dog tiara is a great mascot! Overall a wonderful stay. For a less expensive Place in the area you can’t beat it I am sure! Breakfast was delicious. We speak very little Spanish so it was a relief that the host was fluent!!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place for adventure! Lovey cabins with all what you need and tons of things to do.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed there with our children of 10 months and 3 years. We highly recommend this place, it is really very nice, clean and safe. The nature is amazing all around , there are tours for very young children too. Staff is helpfull and very friendly. PURA VIDA for sure!
6.0 Good
Pros: Great proximity to the national park, lots of waterfalls to explore and the hot springs were good (not comparative to La Fortuna). The menu was good for 2 days with reasonable prices. There are only 2 vegetarian options outside of salads but this is expected at a ranch.
Cons: It was disappointing that the rooms had no fridges and we had to ask for coffee each morning as it was missing in the room. Most of the servers at the restaurant were great but we did have one waiter who was very rude. BE SURE TO HAVE THE CREDIT CARD YOU BOOKED WITH. I did not have the card I booked on booking.com with and I paid cash for the balance but still have not been refunded the amount taken off my card.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is close to the national park and and about 1.5 hours from the beach and other local attractions. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful,, the security is great, and the rooms are updated and comfortable. The riparian and butterfly tour are very informative.
Cons: There were unusually ferocious winds the third week in January; the food was ample, but not well-seasoned. There was actually not a view of the volcano from the rooms, only the trees. The pool is very chilly, and the place is very quiet after 8 PM--it would benefit from some music at night and a heated pool in the winter. The road to the hacienda is extremely bumpy with many potholes, and best to navigate during the day. Visitors should bear in mind that the hacienda is on the "dry side", and the forest is not lush. The park has a short and a long trail, moderately arduous to see the hot springs. We managed to see spider monkeys in the trees, but little other flora or fauna. It's unclear what families with small children or seniors with limitations could do for more than a day or two here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Would recommend for adventurous families with kids
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the river tubing. I’ve had less fun on some full raft trips
6.0 Good
Cons: Room was plain...good food though
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The inner tubing down the river was especially fun. Zip lining contained much variety. Breakfast and lunch also contained lots of variety. Hot springs were nice and free to soak in, although having own transport made it much easier to get to them. Staff was friendly and even told us we forgot to turn off our car lights. Lots of bike paths/trails on property.
Cons: Lots of bug bites, although nothing hotel can do to prevent that :-). Access road was not paved and curvy, but overall not a bad road and we drove on many worse in Costa Rica. Roads could have been a little better signed on the ranch property as per which way to drive to reach each attraction and where to turn, not turn, etc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Norlan, front desk staff, was very kind and attentive amazing and quite facility. very relaxing. clean
Cons: Dinner buffeet ($22) was tasteless. breakfast and lunch were good. too far from liberia, closest place to get grocery or food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Right in the heart of the Rincon de la Vieja national park. Lots of things to do and see. Very relaxing and comfortable. The drive up was a little rough but not as bad as some roads I encountered in CR. Staff were helpful and courteous and I left feeling relaxed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel for the price. Food was just amazing. We are vegetarian and this is where we had the most options. Their buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner is top-notch for the price. The great variety of desserts, juices and entree were worth $20. They have their own hot spring which also is amazing.
Cons: The road to this hotel is in poor repair just like many parts of the costa rica.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing , staff was friendly and helpful, tour guide was very knowledgeable and respectful (nick name the tiger) food was excellent
Cons: Beds could be a bit more comfortable ,too firm

10.0 Excellent
Pros: When our flight was canceled and everyone needed to get over there to try to find a room, the shuttle driver was up to the challenge, and the rest of the staff handled the situation well, too.
Cons: Given the price, a complimentary breakfast would have been great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in Costa Rica. Last night there. Saw parrots which we had not yet. Nice close to airport. Restaurant outside seating by pool, very nice.
Cons: I was taken back when I got home and realized they had charged my card for $---- Paid for the room in March, so don't know what the charge was for so reported it as fraud. Not sure who is to blame.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The food at the restaurant was not good. The pizza was awful and my daughter couldn’t even eat it. Also there was not enough staff to handle the amount of people. More staff should be brought on to the restaurant in busy times and the recipes should be revamped. We sat outside and the wait staff were too busy but did an amazing job none the less.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Large, very clean room, comfy bed with lots of pillows. Pool and deck were great for relaxing. Restaurant is great for lunch and dinner. Breakfast buffet is very expensive especially if you don't eat a lot. 6 am airport shuttle was an important consideration in our choice to stay here.
Cons: It is very expensive but there are limited options near Liberia airport. Front desk clerk was very harsh with another passenger when guest asked about returning rental car to a company not affiliated with the hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great base for airport, lovely comfortable bed, great breakfast, friendly staff, nice little gym and pool too!
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The restaurant was terrible. We waited 2 hours for dinner and when It came at about 10pm . The food wasn't even right and my pasta dish tasted like a kid had whipped it up as an after school snack. They did comp the meal so that helped.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome with explanations of layout and airport shuttle timings and need for reservations. Nice clean room. Super great service and fantastic dinner entrees in restaurant. Free coffees for early morning shuttle departures.
Cons: AC in room was a little noisy. Arrived late and left early so did not get to enjoy the large outdoor pool.
1.0 Poor
Cons: yes. I pre-paid for my room on December 5/18 and now they are charging me $137.52 on my credit card dated Jan 23/19. i did make a purchase at their gift shop and their restaurant and I have both receipts but now they are charging me for something else.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Every thing was good except they shut water off and we had no shower, bottled water to brush teeth, or make coffee in the morning as they did not get the water turned back on and we had to catch a plane in the morning. Not the way one wants to start a long flight.
Cons: The fact they turned the water off at night and it was not back on in the morning when we had to get up to catch a flight. Did not supply bottled water so guests could brush there teeth or make coffee. No coffee, or water in the lobby for guests, no breakfast due to water being out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice property. And friendly front desk staff.
Cons: Price was a little high,
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quick check in for a late flight arrival and prompt access to the room
Cons: No
4.0 Okay
Pros: location
Cons: very minimal features - a low-rung Hilton property

Cons: Pool mainteinance
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds. Lots of activities.
Cons: No safe in room No fan in room Outdoor buffet breakfast Outdoor and indoor lighting very harsh. It could easily be improved with soft light leds No shower at pool Requested a box breakfast due to early departure but it never arrived at the gate.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great family vacation spot
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well located to visit the national park. Food was great! Pool isn’t new but the kids loved it.
Cons: Restaurant: service was slow. Pool Towels are a bit worn out but it doesn’t matter!
7.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was good and the activities at location where great. There was a couple crabby employs but for the most part they where all great.
Cons: The beds where hard and the pillows flat.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible value on extra activities. We chose tubing down the canyon. Wow! So convenient to explore Rincón de la Vieja National Park. So close to the airport! The staff were incredibly nice and we had a great dinner at the pool restaurant. Buffet breakfast was fantastic!
Cons: It would have been great if one of the pools had been HOT. The thermal pools close quite early. And there was almost no sound barrier between the two bedrooms. It was disappointing that we couldn’t pay for a mud bath down at the the thermal pools. By the time we learned that, it was too late to hike up to the reception area to pay and then back down to the spa area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The mineral heated pools and swimming in the river was amazing! Go early in the morning right when the ‘spa’ opens.
Cons: The beds weren’t especially comfortable and the restaurant and main pool area is nothing special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place to stay , loved our food . I even had a yummy rice pudding cooked just for me . Tubing was fantastic fun . We would go back .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location was great. Peaceful, very clean with a lots of activities. staff was great and very helpful.
Borinquen Mountain Resort & Spa - Liberia - Building

8.6 Excellent (478 reviews)
S$ 197+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Borinquen Mountain Resort & Spa in Canas Dulces, you'll be 1.9 mi (3 km) from Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park and 20.4 mi (32.9 km) from Liberia Parque Central. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The thermal facilities and grounds were amazing. The cabins were spread out across the resort so nothing felt crowded. There lawns, beautiful trees and plants were superbly maintained.
Cons: The food is extremely limited for vegan diets. The resort is far from town and is accessibly only by dirt roads but once you are there (and don't have to leave) it's paradise.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The spa facilities are built over a stream, so instead of "relaxing music", during a massage you listen to the sound of water rushing over rocks. Its pure heaven. The heated pools, the setting, the standard pool, the surrounding jungle, the iguanas pretending to be lawn ornaments - the whole thing was idyllic.
Cons: This is not a criticism, but visitors should be aware that thermal springs do smell slightly of sulphur.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fumaroles and hot springs on this property rival those at the Rincon de la Vieja national park. A steam room is built out of one hot spring vent! The spa is built directly over the creek, with water flowing under the glass floor. Two hot pools and a huge, slightly warm, swimming pool with swim-in bar. I had nachos right in the pool, sitting on an underwater bar stool. Rooms are separate cottages, with lots of space between them. Lots of space, King size beds, fridge (no minibar). Free breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Dining: the restaurant appears elegant if not pompous, but food preparation is sub-standard. Meat was overcooked; vegetables not fresh, and so on. Service was slow, inattentive and, once you place the order, nonexistent. Rooms: I expected a bathtub for a resort like this, but there’s only a shower. Getting there: last 10 km of the road from Canas Dulces are basically unpaved; gravel or old concrete. Be sure to arrive before dark if driving a rental. Potholes are unforgiving here.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing . Very nice gardens. Very good for wild life. Saw spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, toucans, iguanas, magpies, agoutis, and many smaller birds. The chef for dinners is good. The volcanic amenities are interesting and fun. Steam room original.
Cons: Access road from the road to the hotel and also from the hotel to the park. Breakfast is very poor, not what you would expect from this standard.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are well manicured and beautiful. The hot springs the mud all the free amenities. The food and service was very good. Very peaceful and a super deal.
Cons: The pool could use some cleaning as well as the jacuzzi being repaired. A small gift shop would be nice. Id like a souvenir and some of the mud to take home but i didn't see anything like that to buy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful mountain property. Very relaxing. We loved it!
Cons: Very bad road getting there.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Our only problem was, my son fell through the deck at our unit. The wood plank gave way and he fell, injuring his leg, wrist and possible broken nose...pretty scary. We asked to speak with manager regarding incident, he or she was not in. They discounted our room, but, felt maybe more could have been done. It was our last day. We will seek medical help once we are back home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great property & so well kept!
Cons: The price of transportation here.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was surrounded by nature. Hotel offers many amenities and activities. The food was nice and the staff friendly.
Cons: The hotel is not easy to reach.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds. It’s like the botanical gardens, only better. Much better! Hot spring pools - spectacular!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort had everything we wanted! The prices were also very reasonable for the tours and food. We went on a tour that included horseback riding, zip lining, and a hike to a waterfall all in one day! The grounds were beautiful and we saw four toucans and many parrots just walking around. We also enjoyed soaking in the hot springs and doing a volcanic mud bath that is all included at the resort.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The servers attitude was not good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very kind but not in your face. The hot pools, water slide and sauna were great. Food was good and reasonably priced. Beer was $2.50 which was good and cold! Beautiful botanical garden, butterflies and hummingbirds. No 4WD needed to get there, just add 20 minutes or so to slow down on the rough road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, a nice 30 minute drive over dirt roads with cowboy’s and all. Good food, nice staff! Houses were big and comfortable and had a nice porch!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Not much. The one hot pool that we went into that wasn't slimy on the bottom was nice.
Cons: I didn't like that they lied before I booked the room and said that the hot springs were on their property when it wasn't. I didn't like that that there was only one restaurant on the premises and that it was way overpriced and not good quality at all, and that we watched chicken sit on the counter for hours. I didn't like that there wasn't a phone in the room so that when we had to contact the front desk it was a 5+ minute walk. But above all, I didn't like that they said they would refund our second night stay (because only stayed one night) and they didn't, despite the numerous times I emailed them about this. I don't like LIARS!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and the location is beautiful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and calm bungalows, nice garden to explore animals and plants
Cons: To us, Blue River Resort seemed a little bit too much of a "Disneyland" with only little spirit of Costa Rica. Location seems to be mostly focused on American travelers in terms of food. Even if very close to Vulcano Rincon de la Vieja, entrance to the National Park is 1.5h away by car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place and value for the money, the staff people and GM Jose are all excellent service, friendly and trying hard to keep gue 3 1/2 stars.. happy!
Cons: The saunas need attention, the spa services are very nice, excellent service, but a bit high priced for Costa Rica and the spa packages could be up graded. The location and entrance are decieving, but the rooms, pools and gardens are specatacular!
Hotel Boyeros - Liberia - Pool

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Boyeros in Liberia, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Africa Mia and Church of La Ermita La Agonia. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the pool and hot tub. Excellent walking access to downtown area and restaurants.
Cons: Air conditioning didn't work.
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a perfectly nice hotel in Liberia, with a lot of parking spaces, a restaurant on site, and a swimming pool (open until 10 PM). The rooms are clean and comfortable (if a bit sparse), the breakfast is excellent, and the location is fairly good. If you don't want to eat at the restaurant (which is a tad bit overpriced), there's a McDonald's right down the road and a shopping center fairly close. This is really more of a jumping off spot before heading to the beaches or the rainforest.
Cons: The walls could have been more soundproof, and the hot water was not that strong after 11 PM. I also wish reception were open a little later. We were only given 2 towels instead of 3 when we arrived.
6.0 Good
Pros: The pool
Cons: Ants, no chairs in room. Bed uncomfortable. Noise
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice place with friendly staff. It was more of a stopover for the airport.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff, location
Cons: Needs updating, not very clean, very dissapointed. Good location and the staff were very nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool area is great, location is perfect, quiet rooms Great food taste Staff is friendly
Cons: Rooms need better amenities Breakfast area in the morning needs to be reorganized in a better way
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good sized pool, comfortable beds, restaurant on premises
Cons: Bathroom very shabby, hot water not always available, not enough towels. No plug for sink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is close to shops and many restaurants. We never felt unsafe walking in the area day or night. The facilities are well maintained, the pool is rarely busy and the staff is both friendly and helpful. Check in time and check out time are both 2:00 PM which was very convenient for us. We have no issues with Hotel Boyeros and consider it to be our favourite place to stay in Liberia.
Cons: This was our third time staying here and there is nothing we did not like about this hotel and look forward to return.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Decent complimentary breakfast. Nice pool area
Cons: Room smelled weird. Floors looked like they should be outside not inside. Bathroom toilet awkwardly placed right next to the sink counter forcing you to use it from the side. Shower head was terrible allowing only a trickle of water. Patio furniture had a was covered in a sand like sediment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, and location. Just 15 minutes to the airport. 24 hour restaurant was perfect and they rushed our breakfast at 4AM so we could make our flight out. The rooms are comfortable and safe. The pools and "warm" tub (who want's a 100 degree hot tub soak in CR??), my kids loved the pool slide. I will definitely book here again when arriving or departing CR.
Cons: Not much really. It is an older hotel, but is well maintained and perfect for travelers who need a good night sleep.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel if you need to be close to the airport. It's about a 15 minute drive with traffic. Only thing is they don't offer an airport shuttle which would've been nice. We had to pay a $20 cab ride. It had a great pool for kids. Very clean.
Cons: No shuttle to airport

Pros: I love this hotel! It’s an oasis in a city. Inhad a small issue and the management was so kind and responsive. I will stay here everytime Im in Liberia.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was nice. Rooms were sufficient. Close to airport. Hotel served purpose as overnight stay to morning flight. Would not stay there for any other reason. Pool was big.
Cons: Hot tub did not work and appears to haven't in a long time. Place appeared a bit run down in areas.
5.4 Okay
Pros: We booked this hotel for closing bus station, staffs are very nice and friendly though
Cons: our room on the ground floor is full of mosquitoes, facilities are old too
8.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was renovated, but the bathroom needed update Breakfast was good
Cons: The property needs some TLC. The pool lining needs to be replaced
5.0 Okay
Cons: I have stayed at El Sito a few times over the years and not impressed this time. First, stop advertising as a Casino...it is Not. The pool and area were NOT very clean. I seen more Staff doing little than customers. Will not return.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Not a dam thing!
Cons: The staff, the place is falling apart, casino closed, hot down, facilities are filthy, breakfast was edible, the receptionist was nasty rude.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I stay here often because it is close to the airport and I want convenierce more than the amenities. However, for newcomers to the country I think it could leave a bad first impression.
Cons: Needs a little work, the pool liner is a mess, the internet is poor and the facilities a bit run down. The floors are very slippery when wet. The bed and pillows are clean but uncomfortable. The hot water in the shower is spotty.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good
6.7 Good
Pros: The stile
Cons: Bed was not changed from the last person stay ! Gross
5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the fact that I was provided with a spotlessly clean room.
Cons: Internet did not work as advertised in Room - Huge frustration as I had work to do. Staff at reception did not care. Restaurant food was very limited and many things not available. Would not stay again - sub par hospitality and service.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location not too far from the airport. The food in the restaurant was good and the pool area was nice.
Cons: The material condition of the room and furnishings was poor and the mattresses were absolutely awful; thin and very hard. The rooms are far beyond needing a complete remodeling. The rest of the property isn't bad, but our room sucked.

Pros: Near town center and eateries

Pros: Staff were very friendly & helpful, and accommodated my request to "hang around" after check-out time until I had to leave for the airport.
Cons: All good.
7.9 Good
Cons: Parking was challenging to find.
6.0 Good
Pros: We spent 1 night while transitting thru Liberia. The hotel was ok - served its purpose. $20 taxi from airport. Close to bus stations. Walked to dinner. Easy to find when you get lost - right next to McDonalds - all the locals knew the word and location ;)
Cons: Seemed less secure than other hotels we stayed at in Central America. Staff tried but could not really help us with tourist transit info.
6.2 Good
Pros: There was these cute rocking chairs out front the room. Nice to sit in and read. The pool was small but dose the job. food was good
Cons: we tried and they are server how much a taxi would be to the airport, which is 10 minutes away from the hotel. He tried to tell it's 20 dollars taxi and there is no buses. If you walka minute down main street, there's a bus stop that goes right to the airport and its a dollar to ride.there still construction in front of thehotel it didn't really bother us tho.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location, very nice staff, good AC and shower.
Cons: Kind of in the middle of nowhere. If you don't have a car, it's about $5 to get to Liberia, and there are no restaurants or stores around.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very charming vintage Motel, extremely clean and the host Dwight was very friendly and accomodatiing
Cons: Signage to help locate it in the dark.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was fine, a bit close to highway, but it too noisy. Good value for price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, rooms nice, great price.
7.5 Good
Pros: Owner called for pizza delivery for us. He also drove us to the bus station early the next morning. Comfy bed & pillows.
Cons: A bit far out of town so no restaurants nearby.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at La Arena during Semana Santa and felt that it was a good experience. We had 2 rooms (both had full and twin beds) for 4 adults, twins kids, and a small dog. Both of the rooms were good sized and comfy. The bathrooms were bigger than most with nice showers, hot water too! The AC worked in both rooms but can be too much at nights, esp for the kids. One room had a ceiling fan but ours did not. Fridge is small and TV good size and both worked well. The pool was small (about 12 feet long) but nice to have for the heat that is always in Liberia. Some of the parking had covering which made it great from the searing sun! Grounds were clean and plenty wide to walk the dog. Bedding and towels were of good quality, comfy beds. The owners live in the back with Dwight seeming to be the manager. A very nice guy and helpful as well. He speaks ingles and espanol. We often go to Liberia to visit family and now that we've found La Arena, we will probably go back again. Thanks Dwight!
Cons: Only complaint may be the location. It's on the very busy highway and about 2 miles outside of Liberia, so getting into town pretty much requires a car. Plus, the way the traffic is set up, you have to drive about 2 miles in the OPPOSITE direction to get back to the hotel if you are coming from Liberia. There is a shortcut but illegal and dangerous depending on the hour. Also, signage could be better b/c we almost missed the entrance coming from the highway. Some kind of sign 300-800 meters BEFORE the entrance would be very helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: To offer a continental breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are Americans who speak limited Spanish. The older gentleman on site, whom I take to be the owner, was very nice and accommodating. The younger gentleman, who was maybe the son in law, was from New Jersey of all places, and he was very nice as well. Overall, a pleasant place.
Cons: The only problem is that the place is somewhat hard to enter into from the highway due to the recent rebuild of the road. There is no way to enter when coming from Liberia. You have to drive a few kilometers past the hotel, turn around and then enter on the way into Liberia from the South. No fault to the owner there; the fault lies in the road not having a way to turn across traffic due to the barriers.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: At the top of my list is the hotel staff. Warm smiles and generous service. Friendship. They responded quickly to meet my needs and expanded beyond what I asked for and made suggestions that enriched my experience. Suggestions for excursions came unprompted and they made arrangements for travel with taxi drivers they knew and had confidence in. I also greatly enjoyed the open air restaurant's cuisine. I wish I had some Aguacate de la Reina in from me right now. The whole experience left me with a permanent smile.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing and om being dead honest. If I had to pick anything is pick the food.
Cons: Rooms are a dump !! I cannot express this any stronger, I paid 70 and I got ripped. Blankets were non existent, no a/c, no service, front desk guy was rude. Laughing and joking on a personal phone call while I was trying go check in. Not to mention the music that goes till 10pm, than fireworks. Screaming and music again at 5 am. No thanks !!
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: Restaurant was okay, close to bus station, central location
Cons: Very noisy, rooms do not have carpet, no hot water in any rooms, hot at night, airport shuttle is a rip off at $25 when you can walk across the park and catch the public bus for $2
6.2 Good
Pros: Excellent staff and great safe feel.
Cons: Hot as hell, loud external city at night, no hot water in shower.
5.1 Okay
Pros: The internal patio and The restaurant
Cons: The room didn't have ventilation and it smell really bad. They tried to make The smell better with candles but it was really strong. They gave us a free breakfast after we complained

Pros: Staff were great. Breakfast was lovely. We arrived late and the guy met us at the gate. The AC worked great.
Cons: The rooms are quite small.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was super friendly and always helping us with our questions.
Cons: Pretty bad internet connection. The hotel rooms are old and not in the best shape. After five days I am still waiting for the bank to unfroze my credit.
6.0 Good
Pros: The swimming pool & safe parking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Staff friendly but little English. Very accommodating. Decent breakfast. Room was clean and fairly good air conditioning. Good for a quick overnight stay.
Cons: Very small room. No hot water at night. Rooms quite dated, need some upgrades.
5.4 Okay
Pros: El desayuno es típico, poco frío no caliente. Café no muy bueno. Habitaciones sencillas estilo cabina.
Cons: El desayuno es típico, poco frío no caliente. Café no muy bueno. Habitaciones sencillas estilo cabina.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool with a good price.
Cons: Older less comfortable bed and pillows.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The air conditioning was really good.
Cons: I strongly advise you to not stay in this place : - A list of items provided with the room was written on a cart but we didn’t get most of them ( a safe box for example) - They don’t have hot water in the shower - They don’t speak English - The breakfast was savourless - The woman in the lobby was very unpleasant to us and she didn’t even looked at us at all during the few times we talked to her. She didn’t smile once, we felt ignored and we were discouraged to ask her any tips or informations about the town - The swimming pool is really close to the rooms so it’s quickly noisy AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART : - We paid a laundry 1$ per piece of 5 t-shirts. We gave the money to the receptionist then when the housekeeper woman with a silver brace gave us back the cleaned clothes and she asked once if we paid then ran away. Few moment later, WE DISCOVERED THAT THE MOST EXPENSIVE T-SHIRT WAS MISSING. We straightly went to the reception to ask for it the housekeeper was already gone for her home. The receptionist sent another housekeeper to find the shirt in their laundry storage and she didn’t find it. We had to wait for more than half an hour for the housekeeper woman with a brace to come back. Surprisingly the housekeeper woman with a brace went to the same laundry storage were she did find the expensive t-shirt. Icing on the cake : when we get back to our room the housekeeper woman with the brace came a second time to ask us for the laundry money in a very insisting way. It is objectively looking like a theft attempt from the housekeeper woman with a brace, be careful.
