The best hostel I stayed in my 6weeks of traveling in Australia. The hostel is brand new with the nicest stuff and beautiful rooms. Even tho it has a bar it never gets too crowded or loud. Bonus they make delicious coffees for about $2, and also the Queen Victoria Market is right next to the hostel and it's super easy to get around in the centere from there.
Everything was just perfect
Great location, the property is modern and good shower facilities. The staff are a friendly family run business. The price is brilliant for value and worth the stay.
However there is 3 male showers and 1 female shower and 2 unisex showers which made it difficult to shower without queuing if you are female. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the pillows are so thin I had to request two.
The hostel was very clean and always orderly. The staff are extremely nice and really care about your stay and how you’re doing. Just a great environment and vibe!
The staff was really friendly
Very clean hostel, very new facilities. All members of staff were always happy to help and solve any problems. I was downstairs charging my phone and the guy working there approached me to ask which room I was in, the next day all the beds had their own sockets attached to the posts! Brilliant! Lydia knew our names during our visit and made a real effort to get to know every single one of her guests. They cracked down on the cleaning in the kitchen, regularly washing and replacing the tea towers, monitoring and making sure everyone was cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen which not many hostels do! So great! They also issue a (weekly?) deep cleaning of every room, by putting a sign on your dorm door and ask that you put all of your belongings on your beds the morning of. The location was also more preferable to us, not being right in the city centre. We got to see another side of Melbourne and nosey round the awesome Queen Victoria Market every morning. There's a lovely big park only a 5min walk away called Flagstaff Gardens, which never gets too crowded. If we did want to go into the centre of melbourne, their hostel is still located within the FREE Tram Zone, so only an 8min ride or so.
