Cons: Wish I could have more time there ☹️
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff are kind.
Cons: The room was not ready even though late check in was informed. Too loud elevator sound on bed.
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the breakfast, it was okay, I was hoping to see some pork, but considering the culture, I understand. The location is okay but the view from our room wasn't that great. It was a construction site. I also liked the staff, they were very kind and accommodating, I wished I remembered their names so I could mention them, but ofcourse they know who they are :)
Cons: The view from our room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The roon was small but practical and clean. All the employees were kind
Cons: I felt uncomfortable because there was no convenient store around it.

With a stay at Grandis Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Kota Kinabalu, within a 5-minute walk of Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal and Suria Sabah Shopping Mall. Featured amenities include a business center, limo/town car service, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooftop pool, helpful reception staff with great English
6.7 Good
Cons: I had been charged double via my credit card..shame, please sort this thing out booking.com
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We like how clean and modern it was. The shower in our room was amazing. Aircon worked great and bed was comfortable. Very clean room. Great location, right next door to Suria Sabah shopping mall. Bed was huge, which worked well as myself, my husband and our 2 year old were all sharing! Staff were friendly and we even got a complimentary upgrade!
Cons: Parking isn’t well explained/advertised. Some of the staff didn’t fully understand English when we tried to call down for room service. Slightly overpriced especially for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, spacious rooms, nice view from pool
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great! Connected to a mall with a easy assess in and out. Room is spacious and pillows are comfortable. Good shower pressure.
Cons: Housekeeping did not go clean thoroughly. Found the leftover food most likely from the previous guests at the corner of the room. Private parking is charged at 10ringgit per day. One of the receptionist doesn’t make me feel welcomed, promised to call me when room available as we arrived earlier but did not. Nice rooftop bar with pool, stated there opened at 8am, however there’s no staff around until 845am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and conveniently located next to a shopping centre with all the amenities
7.5 Good
Pros: The location, the breakfast area and the rooftop
Cons: The lobby is somehow small and there's a very nice lounge in the rooftop and empty most of the time cause it's designated for the VIPs.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast & the sunset view from the pool
Cons: A little bit of noise from the other room
6.3 Good
Pros: Great sea view from our room. Room service food was excellent.
Cons: Room was functional and cheaply decorated with poor lighting. Breakfast buffet had a huge selection but most of the “hot” dishes were cold
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was the deciding factor that made me choose this hotel. Situated adjacent to Suria Shopping Mall, it is really convenient to eat, shop and stroll around for trinkets.
Cons: Breakfast was really not up to the standard. Food was basically tasteless, like taken out from cans. Did not refill in time and we had to wait for enough food. Banquet staff should be trained well, some just stood there to greet but didn't direct us to a vacant table. The reception was better, ever helpful and all smiles.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staffs. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Beautiful sunset view on the rooftop
Cons: Certain guests were smoking on the non-smoking designated floor. It would have been even more pleasant if the Non-Smoking policy was properly enforced by the hotel Manager.

Pros: It was a relaxing break on a beautiful island we saw lots of fish snorkelling, beautiful sea and staff couldn't do enough for you, so friendly and helpful, also very peaceful The shuttle boat was a great service and very efficient we went over to the private beach which was beautiful definitely recommend this
Cons: We were in room 916 it was up a very steep hill and lots of other villas also, which was fine for us but may not be for everyone. The food and drinks was lovely but very expensive compared to the rest of Borneo but it should be expected as in a tourist spot!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved it! I went with an old friend and we had a perfect weekend. The service was fantastic, the resort was beautiful (and so was the beach), and there were just enough activities to keep us busy when we weren't reading by the pool. Looking forward to going back.

Cons: Some chinese guests without habbits and loud.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic dinner offer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location: Perfect location on a very pretty island located only ten minutes from KK (Jesselton Point), if you are going to a resort like this my guessing is you wish to remain inside it and use all the amenities etc so in regards to location on the Island it doesn't really matter. However, there is access via boat to a private beach (Tavajun bay) which is really pretty and tranquil. First Impression: When the boat approaches the private pier you can't help but be impressed by the crystal water approaching the clean white sands, the architectural decadence of the resort and obvious intent for it to blend in with the natural background. Staff are lined to aid you across to the reception area and then you are greeted with smile, fabulous fruit ices and cold towels, this is a really nice and often highly appreciated touch. Service: The service from the people that work here, is in our opinion, above and beyond expectation. From Layla in the bar to Ramash in Feast Village, Xia in the reception managing her staff and then the highly amusing Head Chef Lao (might have his name wrong here) they couldn't do more to accommodate. We got engaged on the resort and these people could not have made us feel more special, we are eternally grateful for this memory that we will take to the grave. Room: We stayed for three nights in one of the Kinabalu Villas after a hard few days actually climbing Mount Kinabalu. The room was very spacious with very modern and classy touches including double sink areas, a huge two person bath and an extremely large, comfortable bed with very fine cotton sheets. Little quirks like umbrellas, pool side sandals and bags made the experience that little bit more special. The balcony area we had was beautiful, we sat watching the sun rise over Mt Kinabalu, then the monkey's in the neighboring trees climbing over the canopy's and I even popped the question on our balcony before dinner. Food: Excellent everywhere!
Cons: Not sure if this is actually a problem the resort can solve?! But... The resort markets itself in a way which I believe would really attract honeymooners and couples looking for a romantic Spa retreat/getaway/break. However, the resort attracts a lot of families also, unfortunately I don't feel the resort is big enough to accommodate both sets of people who both hold very different holiday ideals. We are a very understanding couple who love kids but the kid pool is tiny, which means they play in the main pool, splashing and knocking drinks etc, which, is all normal kid behavior but when you are lying on a sun lounger trying to just relax in the sun and drink Mojitos it's not ideal. Parents would often tell their kids to be quite and stop messing about but they are only kids doing what kids do. We had to move twice because we were getting splashed and a ball hit one of our drinks, knocking it over. In the restaurant areas the children would often run around the tables and this did make having a romantic meal a bit challenging at times. We spent some time with other couples on the beach and ended up drinking in the bar with them until we were all quite inebriated but with the abundance of minors present we all felt a bit out of place having a dance to the local band or getting a bit silly. I'm sure parents were looking at us, with the odd swear word coming out accidentally, and thinking we were not fitting in with their resort ideal holiday also. I think in a 5 star resort there perhaps does need to be distinguished different areas for families and adults as they are clearly on two very different experiences.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay at Gaya Island Resort, loved the rooms and resort facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Food was delicious with a lot of variety but expensive.
Cons: Expensive food and activities, some activities were already fully booked. Could do with AC room as no AC in communal areas
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Total relaxation a short hop from KK. Just what we needed
Cons: A little disorganised in certain areas. Wouldn’t stop me staying again though
6.0 Good
Pros: Attentive & friendly staffs, nature, relaxing
Cons: With the price, expected the room to be slightly more premium. But overall still ok.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Still maintain like last time..only the front liner need to improve a bit in terms of welcoming and notifying the check in guests
Cons: No comment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the facilities are amazing
Cons: The old male staff at gym explained wrong to people that checked out people can't use shower lounge. Fruits at breakfast are different each hour,, if u go too early then u get only pineapples and watermelons but dragon fruit and papaya will be served later.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Same breakfast buffet spread for the entire 4 days we stayed there.. but otherwise great experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay with our family. Our suite was large and of perfect size for the four of us. Beautifully designed, with comfy beds and a nice terrace towards the beach. We enjoyed the very good breakfast buffet at the Horizon Club. And all of the staff were extremely friendly and we felt very welcomed. From the reception to the restaurants/ bar and the Horizon Club.
Cons: The food at Joey’s Restaurant didn’t convince us. The taste was a bit boring and lacking herbs and spices. The drinks at the Sundown Bar weren’t too delicious either. In both cases the staff were super nice and made up the disappointment of the food and drinks.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Star lounge very good!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the equipment, the service of the staff
Cons: It will be better if there are more city-hotel shuttle bus
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, tho larger than I was expecting. The staff were outstanding and the service in the restaurants excellent.
Cons: Maybe a little too noisy and crowded at breakfast, having said that, the series’s still fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pure luxury! A lovely base to explore KK from. I accidentally left my phone in a Grab taxi just before we checked out. The staff at reception together with the Help desk at Grab, and the driver herself combined to get my phone back to me. This was over and above expectations and much appreciated.
Cons: The only minus of our stay was the music blasting of an afternoon from the outdoor bar area by the pool...no-one seemed to be enjoying it except perhaps a few bar staff. It spoiled the lovely setting a little bit.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 8 nights & overall I could not complain one bit about the Magellan. We did have a problem with the air conditioner in our room so they upgraded us for 5 nights in one of the best rooms. The original room was fantastic but the upgraded room was out of this world. Large bedroom & living area (separate) with an ensuite & a powder room. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Cons: Only the A/C problem in the initial room. Otherwise it was sensational
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reasonable price.
Cons: There were some ants.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice beachfront resort, rooms were spacious with a nice view, they also had a beautiful pool.
Cons: Extremely disappointed with the service upon check-in. Arrived during a terrible downpour and was told by the staff that i had to park my car and walk from the car park in the rain. After checking in, eventhough many staff were around us, we had to carry our own luggage to the to room. Disappointing that a 5 star resort would treat their clients as such.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely breakfast spread although the crowds were a bit daunting. We however always got a table quite quickly and ate to our fill. a good selection of facilities and activitieson site. Staff were very friendly and courteous. All the meals we ordered for room service were excellent. Housekeeping were excellent.
Cons: Cocktails and drinks at Nariks bar were terrible. Live band was great although could start earlier. Food at the bar was a bit disappointing. Property could do with a face lift as our room seemed to have seen better days. When we first enquired about tourist attractions and activities in the area, the receptionist told us there was no information about this...we later found a desk where we could book activities..was a bit surprising that the receptionist would not have know this. When we checked in,past midnight the day we arrived,we were just directed to where our room was and not escorted...the hotel is big so we go a bit lost initially.could have been helped. I think given the cost, the hotel can afford to polish up.
7.9 Good
Pros: -the breakfast is good, they have a menu of local delights for your to choose. Of course , you have to wait a bit long if they are many people. - the high tea is worth to try, you also can enjoy the beautiful sunset ! -the location is quite good, near airport and the shopping centre Imago

Pros: Staff and management extremely helpful, and made the stay a real treat. Whilst the pool area was being renovated, an offer to use a sister hotels facilities was provided without hesitation - really appreciated.
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired and need a refresh. Limited light in the room, made reading in the evening near impossible.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The TV no connections to utube
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had breakfast in the Business lounge and thought it was very good. Chef Zuhri was very helpful and attentive. We found the staff excellent. The Favola restaurant was very good and the Spa was excellent as well
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the Harbour so great views from our room. Markets, shops all in close proximity. It was very evident to us that the staff genuinely enjoyed their job, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in particular was a highlight... Great complimentary toiletries of ugh quality.
7.5 Good
Pros: Love the breakfast. Great varieties and excellent taste. Love the quality presented by Latest Recipe. Comfortable stay. Spacious room.
Cons: I stayed in Sea View Room but quite upset with the cleanliness of the glass window. It damages the view. Not the first time staying in hotel with full glass window but this is the dirtiest I ever encountered. Sadly it is Le Meridien. The carpet too doesnt look clean fortunately it doesn't smell bad. No kids room. The spa doesn't look for 5* hotel. I comment on the look only coz I didnt take any treatment there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Toilet at the lobby... Also the high tea buffet... it needs more excitement and enticement.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean room, good restaurants, polite staff, fast check-in and check-out
Cons: Nil
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and considerate. Room was cosy and clean.
Cons: The shower water pressure wasn't strong enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think they exceed my expectaction, i asking favor for small touch in my room to celebrate my aniversary..what they do is beyond what i think and do very good job even i also suprised with the touch.. we have a great moment and my wife is very happy.. im feel so bless.... this will be great memory for us.. the impact of small touch give great moment that we will remember all the time..thank you for the hospitality
6.5 Good
Cons: I wanted to change my itinerary and bring my hotel stay a day forward, from the 21st to the 20th. I offerred to pay the difference in rate if any. Hotel staff told me they cannot do that for me as booking was made via a third party. It was actually made via a fourth party as Kayak outsorced it to getaroom.com. The actual helpline indicated in the booking email (469-675-5368) was possibly run by a fifth party. They were utterly unhelpful with my request to change the booking date by a day, even though I did offer to pay any difference in price. Rigidly cited some sort of policy. I went back to the hotel staff in person and tey also continued to refuse to help. The consequence was that I had to book another hotel for the 20th, did not stay at Le Meridien on the 21st and my money was wasted. I will not be booking via Getaroom ever again and I will be avoiding Le Meridien.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located behind the fruit/seafood market and Handicraft market, with full-on view of the sea. Our room faced the sea and we truly enjoyed the scenic sunset views. Because of it's proximity to the market, the smell of fish is very strong, so that's the only negative I can say about this place. The room was luxurious, the bed was comfy (may be a bit too soft for people who prefer firm beds) and the pillows were fluffy. The best thing abt our room was the floor-to-ceiling sea view. I'd highly recommend the sea-view rooms coz you get to enjoy the stunning scenery without having to smell the nearby market or stand in the hot sun! Service is so friendly here, and they're quick to help. Location-wise, it's close to KK Centrepoint, local markets and walking distance to nearby malls. Lots of local food choices at the hotel doorstep too.
Cons: Fishy stench from the market, but it's a minor observation. It's also windy so the smell doesn't linger.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, clean bathrooms and a nice location with a good common area to chill in! Staff are really helpful too
Cons: Breakfast could be better, some peanut butter and some oats would be good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place in the perfect location. The common area is large, bright, airy and comfortable, and the staff really helpful and friendly. Our room was good, with excellent air con, and the bathrooms really clean and well kept (as is the whole place). Help yourself to free tea and coffee all day, and a good breakfast is included. I really can't fault this hostel. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful in organising tours and 24 reception was ideal.
Cons: Breakfast was basic, only toast with a sweet jam and some fruit.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, nice room ! Tea coffee and water available for free
Cons: The breakfast is really basic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Localization is perrfect on Gaya street. Friday to sunday there are markets with food Street, local products. Nearby there are many restaurants and shops. Room was better than I expected, there was everything I needed, and AC. But no window. Bathroom is ok, hot water. There is a spacious lobby space with some plants, I liked it very much. Drinking water available for free. Fridge available. Staff was very helpfull, specially Alexa, thank You for your advices and care. Hostel is very close to local bus station (ex. small buses to Mt Kinabalu Park, direction Ranau, in the morning every half an hour).
Cons: There is poor information on a building. You have to look carefully. Entrance is from both sides, both streets. Hostel is on a first and upper floor, no lift. A bit loud while weekends due to market and concerts. Same with thin walls. Very poor breakfast, all days the same 4 things and coffee only instant :(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel was clean and the staff were very friendly. It was close to the city centre and had a comfortable, spacious room to hang out in. It was very accommodating for a hostel for both food, help with the local area and problems that may arise.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, toilet and surroundings. Friendly receptionist. Water and breakfast provided.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff are so friendly, welcoming and happy to help with anything. The room was clean and the bed was comfy.
Cons: The only issue we came across (and this is not the fault of the hostel itself!) was that the night market was very loud outside on a Saturday night when we needed an early night for a 2am start on that’s Sunday morning!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The address is perfect
Cons: The quilt is too thin to cover. If you open the air conditioner .it will be too cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, helpful staff, clean and good breakfast
Cons: Water pressure in showers

Pros: The room was spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and would always greet you. We liked the hotel’s initiative of reducing plastic bottles by providing drinking water in glass bottles in the room. The location is quite convenient being close to Gaya St, Suria Mall, Jesselton Point and the KK waterfront. Endless food options nearby but Woo! Cafe was our favourite cafe within the vicinity. There are lots of banks nearby too so never have to worry about looking for an ATM.
Cons: The view from our room isn’t the most inspiring. Mattress is quite firm (Asian style) and laundry is expensive (ended up going to a nearby laundromat) but that’s about it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is good for local food hunting.
Cons: All our cards, totally 3 rooms, are deactivated at 11 something before we check out. We stay at room 116 for 5 nights. Room 116 has regular noise at 06:30 every morning. Sounds like engine noise.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Big room, good value for money, great location for bars and restaurants for backpackers
Cons: Bed was a little uncomfortable
7.5 Good
Pros: What impressed me most about the hotel is its environmental friendliness....using glass water bottles and bins made of recycled paper The front desk team were welcoming face whenever we walked into the lobby Good location with key attractions within walking distance

When you stay at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Manukan Island in Manukan Island, you'll be on the beach and 6 minutes by foot from Mamutik Island. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a hillside chalet, with a living area, huge bathroom, upstairs bedroom, and 3 balconies, overlooking the beach. Although the beach is not technically private, day visitors to the island tend to venture to the other section of the beach, so it feels like a private beach and remains quiet and peaceful, away from the crowds of day trippers who come to visit the island between 08:30 and 17:00 each day. There are wooden loungers on the section of the beach by the chalets for hotel guests only. The hotel restaurant is a short walk away from the chalets and the food is delicious. You can also get meals delivered to your chalet to enjoy on your balcony, which we did one evening and one morning. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - the mattress and pillows were heavenly! We left the curtains open at night, so we woke up with stunning sea views from all the windows. A very beautiful, relaxing place to stay with pretty interior decor and spotlessly clean! I would definitely recommend choosing a hillside chalet for a more tranquil stay, with superb views overlooking the beach.
Cons: Nothing!
7.5 Good
Pros: Overall it was a good place to relax and chill. Natural settings in the pristine island especially after 4pm where all the day trippers had sail off. The sunset point is fabulous, a must see!
Cons: Is a little pricey.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The size! It felt very luxurious. A great memory. I’m so glad we stayed. I wish we’d stayed another night.
Cons: Well, it wasn’t cheap but it was a special occasion and it was a fantastic room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness
7.5 Good
Pros: Beach villa was great. Big bedroom and bathroom. Free drinks topped up in fridge daily. Patio area to sit in. Good air con. Private beach area was good as it had deck loungers.
Cons: The island is very busy with tourists in the day but we were lucky that our beach villa was set further back from the main path. Staff were friendly but a little chaotic. Terrible wifi- it only occasionally worked in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location of the hillside lodges was brilliant, overlooking the beach and the sea. Free sunbeds on the beach for hotel guests. Each lodge had a huge space on two levels, with numerous balconies, massive bed, luxurious fixtures and fittings. Even the fridge was kept stocked with free drinks.
Cons: The island's only restaurant could have had a wider choice. Became a bit samey after three days.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Not so much stay guest therefore could feel silence. Room was so clean and comfortable Then so friendly and cute staffs.
Cons: Wifi is so weak. Yee small island
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location with beautiful view over the sea. Private beach area with sunbeds and beach towels included. Great restaurant with good seafood. Dive center available with excellent service and the diving was great too.
Cons: Internet was not available in the rooms and very slow in reception and in the restaurant. Be prepared for a big number of day-guests on the public beach area between 10am to 4 pm.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful view from the hillside villa, spacious and comfortable. Good food in the restaurant and a brill band during dinner.
Cons: Very hot in the villa - air con and fan a bit temperamental! Did feel that for such an expensive room it would have been nice for our bags to be taken up and collected rather than us lugging them ourselves, and also for the snorkel and masks or maybe breakfast to be included. As gorgeous a spot as it is, it didn’t feel like value for money for us.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My family and i had a very good time at manukan island, and thanks to einstem‘s team. It's a wonderful experience when we open our door and just walk a few pace towards the beach, and we enjoy snorkeling and food in BBQ restaurant.

Cons: The bathtub (which was the reason I booked here after 9 days in the Danum Valley I really wanted a soak) was the size of a small child and I’m over 6 foot.
