7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful, well taken care of Resort. The staff was wonderful and never passed you without saying good morning, good afternoon or good evening. Loved having options for our evening meal besides a standard buffet (that got old after a month on Borneo). The pool was beautiful and they have the BEST beach chairs ever!
Cons: The property was beautiful, varied food and options to eat were great and staff was wonderful but for the money to stay there to rest and relax our last week of vacation, we were super disappointed that we had to “escape” the beautiful pool because of SO MANY screaming kids 24/7 (rude and obnoxious parents and we even saw someone washing out their dish in the pool!!!) Even the “adult” beach area there was kids running around and yelling. Not a peaceful spot if you want a quiet vacation and it stunk to not be able to use all the facilities we paid for.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, we saw monitor lizards right outside our room (they're much larger than I thought they'd be).
Cons: Food was ok but not fantastic, and pretty expensive, as was the mandatory boat ride.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved it! I went with an old friend and we had a perfect weekend. The service was fantastic, the resort was beautiful (and so was the beach), and there were just enough activities to keep us busy when we weren't reading by the pool. Looking forward to going back.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice location. Friendly but untrained staff. Excellent F&B team headed by Ramesh and the chef. They were delightful
Cons: Rooms not ready and check in time and the hotel handled it badly. Even when asked manager did not arrive ( inspite of being present ) to address the issue. Could do with better maintainence.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Service, all the staff are attentive to details and friendly. The food tastes great and has a diverse selection to pick for, we had a good time in the restaurant.
Cons: Many mosquitoes, but the resort has provide healing blam and insect repeller for each room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good staff, great food. Great activities during the day. Attentive buffet food service at feast village.
Cons: Could have been a little cleaner in bathrooms - bath tub had dead insects inside the basin which made us hesitant to use.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff and very quiet ambiance. All the facilities are very nice.
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming staff in particular the restaurants’ chefs. Swimming pool and beach were fantastic and not that busy.
Cons: Substantial extra charges for pretty much all the activities. Hotel kept on insisting to charge us for the taxi transfer from the airport even though we had cancelled it days before.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, vibe, friendly staff
Cons: Food in Feast village and swimpool bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice for relaxing

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Fantastic location. Facilities excellent. Food in restaurants first class. Staff so helpful , nothing was to much trouble. Would recommend this to anyone travelling with family or not. There was something for everyone.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was as we expected
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was terrific all round. The room, the facilities, the food, the location, the ambiance, everything was perfect for us. The best thing of all was the superb staff who were so helpful, friendly and kind. They bent over backwards for us in all departments, a real credit to the management of the resort.
Cons: Nothing.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: The communication needs to be improved. We did not receive any information before our arrival that facilities: pitch and putt, beach, sunset bar; would be unavailable due to a guest privately booking it out. These were the main attractions of the resort and one of the reasons we booked to stay there. We should have been notified earlier as well as some offer of compensation made, especially this being such an expensive resort. Also, after our arrival we were told different things about the facilities, with staff giving us different information. There should probably be daily communication from management to the staff so that they all have the information and do not misinform guest (not the staff fault if they don’t know). We would have had an excellent experience as staff service was good but due to the lack of communication, it put a damper on our experience.

Pros: The location.
Cons: No free parking
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location! Breakfast was really good and a huge variety. Still location is the best.
Cons: A bit pricey for local standards.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast here was amazing. They even had a little Gluten free corner with banana bread loaf, banana muffins, and another baked good. The pool was small but we were usually the only people in it during the day. Bed was comfy and bathroom was spacious. We will definitely be going back.
Cons: Really a great place, if I had to be picky I would ask that all the breakfast food and menus have a gluten free sign, they obviously are aware.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staffs. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Beautiful sunset view on the rooftop
Cons: Certain guests were smoking on the non-smoking designated floor. It would have been even more pleasant if the Non-Smoking policy was properly enforced by the hotel Manager.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is stunning a white sandy beach with clear blue sea and coral reef at the edge of the jungle. Loads of flora and fauna to admire. The staff on the island are fantastic so friendly and helpful. A really nice place to get away from it all. Will hope to return one day.
Cons: Our check in experience could have been better. We arrived at our agreed arrival time to be informed that we had missed the free boat transfer for the day and would have to pay for the next one two hours later or pay for a private boat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not have made more effort to make our stay extra special! It was our first wedding anniversary and the team incorporated lots of little touches into our stay which made it even more special. The whole team we’re friendly helpful and so accommodating the entire time. We returned again with our families for a day trip because we loved it so much, and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location near the airport
Cons: This hotel need to refurbish. Sofa, carpet and curtain were so old and stained. Children pools were so dirty too.. Totally overpriced
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I have visited this resort a number of times. I always enjoy the fantastic swimming pool facilities, the gardens and the gym. Room is good although beginning to show its age a bit. Staff were busy as it was Chinese New Year but they were generally friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast offered a large choice of foods (many Asian options) however I feel the quality of the food isn’t as good as when I first visited. Nice views from resort.
Cons: Bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Price of the resort is expensive and I don’t feel that it has the 5* exclusivity touch about it anymore. More of a package holiday setting for groups of tourists.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything. The staff, food, facilities, the location and the ground. Excellent hotel, perfect!
Cons: Building work directly across from our room which was very noisy when sitting out in balcony. We were not aware of this until we were checked into our room. However such a beautiful hotel we didnt spend very much time in the room or out on the balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant stay
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attentive staff members. Prompt
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing resort with great pools and beautiful garden surrounds, breakfast was amazing and plenty of variety. Rooms are decently sized and clean.
Cons: Pool guards are overly strict, gym was a fair walk at the Sutera Harbour Sister Facilities.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice resort with an amazing pool. A lot of food choices that were not unreasonably priced. Our room was spacious and had a balcony which faced the harbour, this was very nice. The decor was a bit dated. The hotel is by the Sutera harbour which made island hoping very convenient. The Spa facilities was really good too. I will stay here again.
Cons: There were not enough sun lounger chairs by the pool. Although the hotel has a beach and access to the sea, you can't swim here (this was not a problem, just worth noting)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pictured seaview from the bedroom
6.0 Good
Pros: It has great swimming pools and ocean view.
Cons: It's really old and beds are also too small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can use pacific facilites. It has many outdoor pool.
Cons: It has too small private beach
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Manukan Island in Manukan Island, you'll be on the beach and 6 minutes by foot from Mamutik Island. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a ferry terminal shuttle.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, easy to get there but far enough away from the city, wonderful service and food. Facilities are also great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I went with my family and booked 2 rooms. Sutera Sanctuary Lodges exceeded my expectations! First off - the rooms are much bigger than I expected (especially the bathrooms!) and are very beautiful and perfectly clean. The beds are very comfortable and the AC is strong. We stayed in the beachside villas and really loved our rooms. Secondly - Sutera Sanctuary employs some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. We received great service from the moment we stepped foot on the island to when they sent us off on the boat. Adamz, the hotel manager, personally greeted the guests and gave us a very entertaining tour of the facilities (including meeting Gerry, the giant monitor lizard!). He also made time to chat with us before checking out. The other hotel staff always helped us with big smiles. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would love to return. The restaurant also exceeded my expectations. Being on an island, I had very low expectations for food options and taste. But there were lots of both local and Western options and I thought the food was all pretty tasty. The price will be a bit higher, of course, but still within reason.
Cons: Note that a lot of daytrippers come to this island from 9:30 am - 4 pm, so there will be lots of people during the day. Other reviews mentioned a lot of trash, but I didn't notice it. I thought the beach and water were clean. After 4 pm, the island is all yours. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the evening and early morning.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, room, beach
Cons: Food is ok, jetty is very crowded and difficult to find which boat to take
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful island. Hillside villas are very nice and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful staff and management. Suitable for families. Logistics and everything else well-organized. Jungle trekking to sunset point was a great experience (after sunset you can walk back the paved easy jogging trail). Snorkelling is nice and fun but not top notch.
Cons: Too many day tourists but in the morning and late afternoon it’s quiet. Connected to that is the littering problem, there is simply too much waste around the beach and in the water. In less than ten minutes my son and I collected a plastic bag full of waste.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms & friendly staffs
Cons: Leaked roof but was rectified the next day. Everything was superb.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall is good
Cons: The restaurant services.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location! Has to be as it is the only resort on Manukan Island. Special thanks to Alicia who explained everything very clearly to us on our arrival. She gave a good overview of the resort, what all can we do while we are on the island and answered all our queries patiently. In fact, all the hotel staff was very helpful, they coordinated the ferry back to Kota Kinnabalu and made sure we have a great experience. We stayed in Beach Villa and one could easily see beach from the room. Lovely experience, would love to come back again!
Cons: Hardly anything. Just carry your insect repellant. Nothing to do with property, the island has a lot of mosquitoes generally.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean

With a stay at Akinabalu Youth Hostel in Kota Kinabalu (Downtown Kota Kinabalu), you'll be steps from Gaya Street Sunday Market and 9 minutes by foot from Suria Sabah Shopping Mall. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and coffee/tea in a common area.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, comfy, nice common area and lovely staff
Cons: The breakfast that's included is just bread and jam, but better than nothing !
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice place, super close to the main street and the ferries. Right below the hostel there was a night market and a Chinese carnival celebration. The staff was kind enough and helped organize different excursions. The bed was comfortable, fellow guests were nice enough. Breakfast was basic but good.
Cons: Wi-fi was really slow and patchy: the city one outside the hostel worked way better. Door sometimes wouldn't lock properly and it took me several tries to open. Also, could not find a remote control to turn off the AC so slept with a t-shirt. Lastly, the snorkeling daytrip I organized with them didn't go well (their agent gave me a faulty mask, which was reimbursed, a faulty life jacket on the first trip and didn't show up to pick me from the last island): at least both their agent's staff and the hostel staff was nice and comprehensive enough. I suggest they look up to someone else for the TAR tours next time ( I was brought to the second island by yet another company)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good Location! Staffs are nice and helpful. The shower and the common area are good. Free coffee and tea are provided!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was clean
Cons: The lamps are not bright enough.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing special
Cons: Staff n the way of the staff are really not welcoming..
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staffs, great location, a lot of promotion on eco tourism which i love. Lobby area was a great hang out place
Cons: Wow, the beds were squeaky. Slept on an upper bunk and I felt so sorry for every move i made i could be heard by the whole room, and felt by my lower bunk mate.

7.1 Good
Pros: Staffs were super friendly and they serve with a smile. Location was amazing. Close to everything.
Cons: Pipe broke then my whole toilet flooded after it was fixed. Food was meh. Nothing extraordinary and refills were so slow. Too many Korean travellers that were noisy and rude. Honestly, was disappointed with the price I paid.

Cons: In sufficient number of restaurants. There is only a coffee house to contend with
7.1 Good
Pros: Water front and good for swim with younger children
Cons: Facility is old and need maintanance
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing pool and great breakfast buffet. Poolside bar staff are very friendly. Oppulent hotel perfect for golfers.
Cons: Didn't think the dinner buffet was good value and it didn't have the 'Fiesta' vibe. We booked a twin room and received an upgrade to a suite but there weren't two beds. Not a locatio n for those who prefer to walk to destinations. Located on a busy highway meaning you need to either shuttle or taxi to everything.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: My door was trouble. 3 times, i and my friend went to front desk to open it. Also one time, a fuse box is down. I fixed it myself.
6.0 Good

Pros: Great front desk and concierge services. They were all very pleasant and helpful. The beds are meticulously made, clean and comfy
Cons: The room is comfortable and clean but needs to be updated. Eg the kettle & coffee making facilities were hidden in a drawer instead of out in the open for guests to see. If the staff didn't tell me about it, I wouldn't have known. The pool is also not great.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location. You can go anywhere you want within minutes.
Cons: Breakfast. There is not system to indicate table is taken. If you walk away from table to take food, your table will be taken by someone else or the waitress will clean up your table. They clean up my cutlery every time I walk away to take food.

Pros: The owner Mr Mark is awesome guy and helpful. Shows us where to park and advice us not to simply park, tells us the rules and regulation inside the condominium. Apartment is breathtaking especially the Seaview just fantastic. All the apartment facilities all nice and they even have water dispenser! Good to stay worth every pennies! highly recommended! Thanks Mark!
Cons: Its better to have 2 car parking instead of only 1.

I expect just a regular apartment but we got a sea view apartment facing the waterfront, everything inside just nice. Too bad we only stay for 1 night. Highly recommended, great service from the host meet us during check in and check out time and most important is the apartment such a great place to stay its like a hidden GEM inside the city. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mark's three-bedroom flat is neat and clean, with great sea views on the ninth floor. It is conveniently located near convenience stores, restaurants and shops, all within walking distance, in a clean neighbourhood. The kitchen is well equipped and the drinking water dispenser is extremely handy. Transport is easily available and if you rent a car there is a parking space that goes with the flat. The daily cleaning service and 24-hour water supply (unlike in some other blocks in complex) are added advantages. Mark responded promptly to our questions, making it so much easier to plan and make the most of our short stay. I would not hesitate in recommending Mark's flat. We first met Mark as a kind and gracious host, and we now think of him as a friend. Thank you Mark for making our visit to KK so special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, the price. Its a really good apartment with reasonable price. The place were very cosy. Having the view of the sea at its verandah just blew you away. Thank you for the great hospitality. I will definitely stay here again next time!!!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The staff were exceptional, as always. The receptionist informed me of the unlocked Meridien experience, a programme that's been going on for a while but I had never realised before. Thanks to her, I was able to visit an art gallery that I wouldn't have found on my own. The concierge staff were all courteous and friendly. Room was immaculate and I enjoyed my sea view. Location was excellent. Always a great stay in Le Meridien.
Cons: Only that I wish the bathroom floor would dry quicker.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: None
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Quick efficient staff, good restaurants, clean rooms, adequate space in the room, central location
Cons: 2 of 4 elevators not functioning but didn’t have to wait too long though
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and management extremely helpful, and made the stay a real treat. Whilst the pool area was being renovated, an offer to use a sister hotels facilities was provided without hesitation - really appreciated.
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired and need a refresh. Limited light in the room, made reading in the evening near impossible.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel was nice. King room and bathroom were huge, good location, helpful and friendly staff
Cons: It was very overpriced for what it was. I paid over £400 for 2 nights which is extortionate in Malaysia. For that price I would have expected something more special - a drink on arrival, breakfast included in the price, a happy hour. There was nothing which made this special and additional charges for things. Unfortunately I regret spending all that money and staying here!
6.5 Good
Cons: I wanted to change my itinerary and bring my hotel stay a day forward, from the 21st to the 20th. I offerred to pay the difference in rate if any. Hotel staff told me they cannot do that for me as booking was made via a third party. It was actually made via a fourth party as Kayak outsorced it to getaroom.com. The actual helpline indicated in the booking email (469-675-5368) was possibly run by a fifth party. They were utterly unhelpful with my request to change the booking date by a day, even though I did offer to pay any difference in price. Rigidly cited some sort of policy. I went back to the hotel staff in person and tey also continued to refuse to help. The consequence was that I had to book another hotel for the 20th, did not stay at Le Meridien on the 21st and my money was wasted. I will not be booking via Getaroom ever again and I will be avoiding Le Meridien.

Pros: Everything was fairly well. It was very clean, they were changing towels every day. They also have an ironing station on each floor which I highly appreciate. Location was awesome, close to everything we wanted to visit.
Cons: Breakfast was Asian style which I personally didn't like much, but it was ok.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is great in terms of places to eat. But it can get a little bit noisy at night. I was lucky as my room was facing the other quieter side.
Cons: The facilities in the room need a little bit of upgrading. The mattress & the pillows, the towels need to be replaced.
