Cute room with everything you need for a comfortable night. I enjoyed a corner room on the top (6th floor) with a nice view of the World Trade Center and neighboring buildings. Bed was firm and comfortable and the desk is convenient and had an outlet within reach. Despite being located right next to the Manhattan Bridge, the double windows make the rooms nearly soundproof and the only noise that gets through is the muted sound of passing subways. There is tea and espresso provided in the lobby and the staff was very friendly. They also allow you to leave luggage upon checkout. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, a razor, and comb were kindly provided in room. Soap would be a very welcome addition!
Though the staff was very friendly, when I asked the late-night staff whether I could check-out late the next morning, they told me I’d have to call the desk in the morning, which defeats the purpose of late check-out—which is sleeping in due to a late arrival the night before. There were not outlets within reach of the bed.
4 nights, March 2020. It's always a pleasure to be back at the Mimosa, which is a sure value, and a most welcoming place. Rooms are functional but quite comfy, very clean and quiet, with lots of light; the staff is very professionnal and friendly too :)
The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. The room was clean and we were provided with lots of toiletries, which was a nice touch. The location is convenient for exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn by foot or metro, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and it felt like a genuine and authentic NY community, which was lovely to experience.
Lack of temperature control and tea making facilities in the rooms, but not really much of issue in the grand scheme of things.
Good location in Chinatown and a short walk to a couple of subway stops. The moment we entered the lobby, we began to relax. Tasteful decor, smiling and welcoming staff, calming music, tea and coffee available, prepared lists of recommended restaurants within walking distance with descriptions and directions. The room was bright and nicely furnished, spotless bathroom with basic supplies,a good shower, and heat lamp. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent black-out curtains and soundproofing; we could still hear/feel the rumbling of the subway, but this quickly became background noise. They happily kept our baggage for the day after we checked out and offered the bathroom when we returned. This hotel ended up being a last-minute one-night add-on to our NYC trip; we could have happily spent more time there. Bonus find: just up the street from a world-famous skatepark.
It was a big win to find double room with private bathroom in Manhattan for this price. It was small but very nice place.
Chinatown wasn´t our favorite district. There was a stink and people spat on the ground. it was unbelievable.
For those wanting a walkable Manhattan vacation, Hotel Mimosa is the ideal accommodation. The guest rooms can be booked in Queen, Superior Queen, Twin, or King-sized options. Each room is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with plenty of classic elements. Much of the artwork is Asian inspired, and the bathrooms are stocked with luxurious bath products. The lobby has a very chic and eclectic style that greets guests upon entry, and the wallpaper in the hallways is full of vibrant colors. There are complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate drinks available in the lobby. The front desk can help with baggage storage for guests that arrive before check-in, and there are safety deposit boxes for valuables. The business center offers WiFi and a printer.
