The location was great.
The room was supposed to be a superior king room it was just a king room. Very old outdated. Paint peeling, extremely small bathroom. No fridge or coffee maker. Not overly thrilled with the room. The staff were pleasant enough except the lady at check in was not rude but not really friendly. Seemed like she was just going through the motions. When we checked in (i has boomed a king superior room) we got there at 3 check in was at 4. Realized we were there and was planning on just storing g our bad till check in. She told me we could have a room with two twin beds. I don’t her i booked a king and had no interest in two twin beds - she said then you’ll have to come back at 4. No problem that’s what i was planning anyway but it annoyed me that she offered me a room with twin beds when she clearly saw i booked a king. When i returned i asked her if the room she was giving us was the superior room i booked - she said yes. Not sure it was though. The room was ok for one night but not sure I’ll use this hotel again. I love another hotel in the area but I thought I’d try this one because of proximity to Grand Central. Like I said it’s okay for one night but nothing special - very old, outdated.
Hotel was in a great location.
We were really disappointed with the service. We paid for a room with two double beds. We had to ask four times about having another bed to the room. We were promised a double bed but this did not happen. We had to ask again at 3am for another bed to go to the room and we got a single bed left at our door. I spoke with the night manger about the service and they said there was nothing they could do. I sent an email on Sunday to the hotel to explain our unhappiness with the service. No one replied to this until Tuesday and said that they would speak to us at the desk. However when we went to the desk they were busy. No one spoke to us and we were asked to wait. We waited for 45mins and still no one spoke to us. They did take 80 dollars off the bill but it was a little to late as we had tried to talk to the hotel several times.
Hotel just seemed a little outdated but had outstanding service
Location is excellent. Breakfast is okay.
The reception staff were often grumpy. The Grill staff were great.
We stay two nights here for our anniversary when we had gotten there we check in went to our room and we were given a smaller room than what we payed for. The front desk lady was kind and let us change to the room we payed $564 for. After a few hours being out and about in the city we got back to our room at 9:30 pm by then we were tired and ready to shower an go to bed however our shower wouldn't drain so we went down and told the front desk and they told us they would send someone up right then. We went back up to our room and waited. After a while we went back down because still no one had come up and it was already 10:30. They told us we need to be patient and just wait. After an hour of waiting we were tired and annoyed. We went back down to ask for a room change and they said they couldn't move us at the moment. Lucky after an hour in a half of waiting someone came in to fix it by 11. Over all that was really the only thing that was a let down. The hotel was beautiful and most staff were kind. The rooms were clean.
