Top Tips for Hiring a Convertible Car in Newcastle upon Tyne

  • Newcastle Upon Tyne is a great city in which to hire a convertible car. This city has a considerable selection of sightseeing activities, and a convertible car will allow you to take yourself and your loved ones on your own tour of the city. Some great attractions you can see while driving in your convertible car are The Quayside, Newcastle Castle, The Tyne Bridge and Angel of the North. Convertible car hire is a highly recommended form of transport, as you can cruise the city in style.
  • Newcastle Upon Tyne convertible car hire can be easily accessed from Newcastle International Airport (NCL). Newcastle Upon Tyne Airport has a great selection of cars that are convertible, and they tend to have more variety than branches in the city. You can hire your convertible car from the Europcar car hire company. Europcar is located across from the Short Stay 1 car park at Newcastle International Airport. This airport is a very close airport to Newcastle Upon Tyne that you can get a convertible car from; it is around a 10min drive from the city centre.
  • Driving your convertible car in Newcastle is as you would expect within any other city in the United Kingdom. Traffic in this city is often busy, mainly if you drive during rush hour. The hours with the most traffic are from 8:00 to 10:00 and from 15:30 to 18:00. If you plan on parking in the city centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, you should know that it can be difficult. We would advise that you use a car park that is just outside the centre. You should also watch out for cyclists, as this is a university city.
  • Newcastle Upon Tyne is a busy area when it comes to traffic. Some of the roads that you may not want to travel down during the busy traffic hours of the day are Great North Road, Grey Street and Northumberland Road. A convertible car would not be the best choice of car to have in the winter months, for obvious reasons. However, convertible cars do have soft-top roofs for this very reason. When it comes to parking in the city, it does require payment. It is, therefore, always good to factor that into your budget.

FAQs About Hiring a Convertible Car in Newcastle upon Tyne

  • Where are the best car hire locations in Newcastle Upon Tyne to hire a convertible car?

Newcastle Upon Tyne convertible car hire has a couple of great locations for you to get your car. If you are coming from the airport, picking up your car from the Europcar Airport Branch is a good idea. If you are situated more in the city centre, you can pick up your convertible car from the Europcar branch that is located there. Europcar is very conveniently located at both points, so you can reach the location via car, train or bus.

  • What is the most reliable convertible car brand to hire in Newcastle Upon Tyne?

There are a great selection of convertible car brands that you can hire while you enjoy your holiday. Newcastle Upon Tyne convertible car hire has Mercedes as their main luxury car brand for convertible cars. However, you can also hire BMW and Fiat. You will be able to find Mercedes convertibles at Newcastle Upon Tyne International Airport as well as the Europcar location that is in the city centre.

  • Where are the best places to park a convertible car in Newcastle Upon Tyne?

There are many places where you can park your convertible car. The car parks in the city are underground, outside and in buildings. Some recommended car parks are Eldon Garden Car Park, Westgate Hill Carpark and The Gate Car Park.

  • How does KAYAK find such low convertible car hire prices?

KAYAK compares convertible car hire prices from all major car hire companies such as Thrifty, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Payless and more to find you the best deal.

Absolutely disgraceful. On arrival I was asked to hand over my license & credit card. After a minute of tapping on her computer the Alamo representative said “we haven’t got a car for you”. Apparently they’d ran out & she said they didn’t have enough for people who’d booked months ago let alone me ( who’d booked the day before. I asked what I was supposed to do. She said “I don’t know” She also told me that they had tried calling me but I had no missed calls or voicemails. Thankfully Avis helped me.
