The location didn't have our car so we had to drive to a second location to get it after they tried to have us leave in a 5 seater not the 7 seat car we reserved. Without so much as a word or an apology. A horrendous two hour experience.

Hertz cancelled on me the day before an hour they were supposed to close! I called the 800 number and it was impossible to find help. I called several locations in the neighborhood but they were all turning me down or charging an additional $200! Never ever again

I booked the car for $498.67. When I picked it up at LAX, the man said it would cost $850.00+! I said no, it's less than $500. He asked for the confirmation number. He entered that number (after reading it back to me) and said yes, it's $850+. I said NO! He went to another computer. After a few minutes, he came back and said I was correct. It wasn't a good way to start my vacation. Drop off at SJC was very easy.

Our vehicle wasnt ready when we checked out. The vehicle was dirty and it smelled like marihuana. Overall I will not be renting from that location.

Easy to reserve online. When we came to pick up our car, we were told they didn't have the type we had reserved and insisted all we could do was pay more to "upgrade" to a larger vehicle. They let you go out into the garage and pick your own vehicle, the vehicles in the section we were told to go to were either literally falling apart or smelled like smoke inside. Luckily they brought over a freshly detailed car while we were trying to figure out what to do. We took that one and we're on the road before we realized we were in the car type we originally requested and paid extra for no reason. Then when we got to our destination and I looked more closely at the paperwork, they had me listed as the driver, instead of my husband, and there were no additional drivers listed despite the fact that we had provided them with HIS license at the time of rental. We called to try to have him added but were told they can only add additional drivers in person and the closest rental office to us was 1.5 hours away. Luckily when we returned the car, we explained the situation to customer service and they reversed the "upgrade" charge.

So, I've definitely been less than impressed with FOX before due to extremely long counter waits at both SFO and LAX, but this particular time there was zero line. It was quick, easy, car was ready to go, and drop off was a breeze. No issues at all

Left us waiting at 1am at LAX for over an hour as we watched shuttle after shuttle of other rental car companies drive by us. Long check in, It took another hour at the check in desk to give us a car. The car I had reserved was no longer available. They did gave us a comparable rental. Will never use this rental car company again :(

Impossible to change or cancel the reservations once made through a third-party travel agency. Avoid doing any rentals through Sixt through a 3rd party. Wasted several hours getting bounced back and forth. Terrible customer service! They just kept quoting “ While we know you may be disappointed by our decision, it is based on sound business practices”. They were the worst

We were pretty disappointed when LA traffic got us to the Sixt office at 5:10 pm on pick-up day to discover that the office closed at 5:00. A phone call would have been nice. At least it would have saved us the time we spent in downtown traffic finding the office and getting our ride back to pick us up again. We still would have had to pay an Uber to get back there from Pasadena the next morning. The vehicle (Chrysler Pacifica) was clean and comfortable, if not at all what we wanted. Apparently it was the only vehicle available. I still have not gotten charged, which is awkward. Otherwise, I had a good experience. The young man who waited in me was efficient, friendly, and helpful.

Wrong car on check in. Had to haggle to get it changed. They made a big deal of no smoking in the vehicle or a $400 fee. We get in the car and it smells of pot. We had to change vehicles. We tried to change drop location and the fee was higher than the price charged for the entire 9 day rental period. Incredibly difficult to get ahold of a real person. Customer service is poor. Last time I rent from them.

I needed to cancel my car rental and it was an absolutely awful experience. There was no person to talk to and I was sent around in a never ending loop to attempt to cancel. After several phone calls, attempts, and long long waits on hold with Priceline trying to get help I basically emailed Sixt and begged them to cancel FOR ME since doing it online as I was instructed wasn’t remotely possible and they did so. I was completely at their mercy and definitely charged 100 dollars even without renting a thing. I felt like I was owed 100 dollars after that entire two days of effort, stress, and finally panic trying to cancel. I would never rent from them again just for this experience alone.

The customer service was wonderful! I wish they had had the vehicle I wanted, but they tried very hard to find another mini-cooper in their fleet before substituting with another make/model. The shuttle was efficient, with helpful driver.

Both the pick up and drop off were very easy! The Nissan versa was spacious and comfortable enough for a road trip from LA to Vegas through death valley. Will use sixt again in the future!

Returned car early and got hit with extra cost. It was more expensive to keep the car for 4 days than for a whole week. I tried to return the car on a saturday and their posted hours were incorrect and they were not open. I had to keep the car for 2 extra days. Overall it was more hassle than it was worth.

Comfort, awesome. Cleanliness, awesome. Pick-up, not descriptive enough on what type of pick-up I was getting in terms of the size. Drop-off Priceline said it was due On a Wednesday which is when I booked it till but Enterprise contract said it was due on a Tuesday. Some confusion there but resolved at checkout and the rate was the same.

I flew to Lax from Qatar for 16 hrs. When I reached Enterprise location there were cars available in the lot however they kept repeating to me that there was no car available. Not even a lower category class. The Enterprise staff were so rude and did not take any responsibility of the situation and did not provide an alternative solution. I even called costumer service without any help. They left me and my family out side in the hot sunny day for 4 hrs. Then, I had to wait with my suitcases and 5 children for more 4 hrs in the sun until we found a ride to the hotel. I end up spending 500 USD on Taxi on that day. I never had such bad experiences and feelings. My whole travel was effected financially and physically. Who shall take the responsibility of what happened? Thank you

The car was great.The customer service was terrible when I dropped off the car. They said I crashed it. I didn't. It did look like someone may have hit me when I was parked. My insurance will cover that. The way it was communicated to me was very aggressive and poorly done.

The staff was extremely courteous considering they were WAY understaffed during the Thanksgiving holidays and many people were complaining about wait times to get into their cars. Check in was a breeze and even with so many people the last day of the Thanksgiving holiday, we still got on the bus quickly and were at the airport in 15 minutes. Very friendly and courteous employees from beginning to end.

When I went to pick up the car, they wanted to charge me double the agreed rate. The reason was that my reservation did not include insurance. This was not clarified in the detail of the reservation. They even tried to charge me an amount even higher than what they told me to pay. Thank God, the bank rejected the operation.

The glass was dirty throughout the car. Its as if the person cleaning it didnt use a clean towel and left smudge marks all over the windshield, side and rear glass making night time driving unsafe. I tried to clean it with dry paper towels but the greasy mess on the glass didnt come off

The standard car I rented turned out to be a very small car! The shuttle bus you pick up for Thrifty and Dollar is a Hertz bus but there is nothing on the bus that tells you this! The line up at Hertz does not indicate which line is for Hertz and which is for Thrifty and Dollar - all very inefficient and frustrating. We would still be in line if a friendly bus driver from Avis had not come over and asked who we were waiting for.

Employees were pleasant. However, we had to wait 30 minutes for them to get our vehicle ready. When the employee dropped off the Ford Focus the car had a smell of marijuana I notified the attendant about the odor and he said he didn't smell anything. Since it was 11:30 PM and they didn't have another car ready we took the car hoping that the deodorizer they used would eliminate the order over night... never worked in fact it got worse.

I spent as much time waiting in line, 90 minutes, waiting to pick up my reserved Dollar vehicle at LAX as my flight took to go from Sacramento to Los Angeles. At various times there were only three customer service employees working to handle a line that stretched to the door. I rationalized that Dollar could afford to offer the cheapest rentals because it does not pay enough employees to efficiently run its operation.

We had reservation for a certain car but there wasn’t any available and the rep offered a bigger car but wanted to charge me of course. I did not get any discount on the car I took even though it was smaller than what I tried reserving. The charge was for a specific car and I did not get a car that size. I understand the upsell but then it should be the same with a lesser vehicle.

Basically, the car tire pressure light was on the entire time I had the car and I ended up having to go to a tire shop to ensure I would not get a flat tire on the freeway. This should have been handled before I even had the care in my possesion

The LAX shuttle was packed with people (standing room only) and some passengers were wearing their mask improperly or were without mask. Same as in the line to register for the car at the AVIS terminal. The line at the AVIS terminal was unlike anything I'd seen (in a negative way). I waited for over an hour in line to pick up my car, when I was on time. The line was very long and moved very slowly. When I finally got to an agent, I had to wait a few more minutes because the car I'd reserved wasn't ready. I don't understand how this could be, since your system knew I'd reserved a certain model of car, for a pickup time 90 minutes earlier.

I was up charged at the airport. The original reservation was for $150 but I was told the airport fees and tax were an additional $150. I complained but was stuck and had to pay in order to rent the car.

Requested a LAX airport rental. Rental was over an hour away with bus and lyft and an additional 180.00 in Lyft fees and they closed at 1:00. Cutting our vacation short by 1/2 day. Staff was rude, area had homeless people begging for money, We got there at 12:57 and they had already locked their door. I had to refuse to leave to have them let me in. She your reservation says 12:00 which I replied I requested a LAX and I landed at 11:10. She rushed my along, tossed the keys at me and said if you return to airport 2x the fee and $300.00. Returning was just as bad and the Lyft was 117.00. As we were leaving with our car an eldery couple showed up and they would not unlock the door for them. Poor people were stuck and no one cared. I am mad as I can be and I want to have someone call me.

The rental office called 2 hours before to let me know they had no cars and no ETA for when any new cars would come in. Then 2 days later I get charged a $50 fee for no-show. Ridiculously awful experience. Stay away!

Our arrival on Westjet was delayed by over an hour & the rental was given to someone else. Avis would not honour the reservation and to duplicate it would have cost over $USD1500! We ended up with a $USD375 weekend rental with a hold-back of $150 & I ended up taking a shuttle to Santa Barbara and train/bus combo to Oakland for the remainder of my stay in California.

The customer service at Avis was great. The cars were very nice. However, they need to be better maintained. The first car needed an oil change and developed a flat tire, and the second car had a dead battery that needed to be jump started. Considering how expensive car rentals are, the value was pretty good.

What I like is that it was quick and easy, especially the return and ride back to airport. What could be better is that it would be better if there was a direct shuttle from the airport to Midway. We had to take the G shuttle and then get dropped off at a location to take the shuttle from the drop-off to Midway.

When we rent to pick up our car there were none to be had. We were told by the many sitting in the waiting room that they had been waiting over two hours. It was a nightmare and not at all what we had planned. These are over sales and not a direct rental. This should have been explained from the beginning. Not cool.

Office was closed when I got there but there was no mention that scheduled pick up time was after hours while making reservation. Keys not left at hotel. No after hours phone number. No one cares at this place. Horrible rental agency. Next time I will pay double and go to a name brand place where at least their doors are open.

I’ve rented cars from other agencies (hertz,trifty,Alamo,Dollar,etc… those agencies cars are not well taken care of :( dirty, smelly, mechanical problems. MIDWAY always have cars that are sparkling clean. Smells like brand new, well maintained. Employees are very professional and helpful. Thank you MIDWAY! 🤗🤗🤗

Midway at LAX has a very specific pickup location that is non-standard. This could be better messaged in the app - you have to take an airport shuttle to a bus stop off airport in an industrial area, and then a shuttle is supposed to come pick you up but apparently it wasn't coming and we walked. Not a big walk, but overall would be nice to have some indication of how to get to the pickup location.

Getting to the facility was a journey. We waited for the economy bus for 45 min at the airport then waited another 1/2 hour at the second parking lot before walking to the facility (about a 10 min walk). Once to the counter staff was friendly and paperwork easy. The people working in the garage seemed disorganized and we waited a bit to get the car. The car was nice and clean. Now that i know what to expect and where to pick up the car i think i would rent from them again.

Waited two hours in a huge line before getting to the desk. Once there, I was told it would be a 30 minute to one hour wait to get a car because there were no cars. On top of this, the agent was super rude. I will never get a car from Thrifty again.

When I picked up my car they sent me to the stall where it was supposed to be but a totally different car was parked there. It took an additional half hour to get switched to a new car because the one I booked wasn't there.

This was one of the smoothest car rental experience we have ever had. The checkin and checkout processes were fast, efficient and professional with no wait. We rented an SUV and the vehicle was clean and in great condition. The price was the lowest we could find in that car class. We will be renting from this company again in the future.

Picking the car up took a LONG time (there was a long line and not a lot of folks working). Additionally, the price Kayak quotes and the final price is NEVER the same. The actual price was much higher than what Kayak quoted due to "admin fees" and "additional costs" that Kayak didn't quote.

Drop off location has no bathroom so some guy stood there and urinated on the driveway and no one stopped him. Only one of the employees said anything to the man. They should have called the police or something. They probably need training on how to handle that type of situation. It was very uncomfortable.

There was only one shuttle at the airport to take people to Budget when other rental companies had multiple shuttles. At least 4 AVIS shuttles went by, even FOX and Sixt had shuttles, but Budget's took forever. Then at check in, the agent couldn't find my reservation, so when I produced the email she looked up and said, "oh I found it". Just horrible customer service.

The biggest issue is a Priceline issue more than Airport Van Rentals. Priceline’s marketing is misleading having stated AVR cara come with unlimited miles. The confirmation email clearly states the same. This is not true. Our miles were limited to 1,000 miles. Additionally, no instructions were given for after hours drop off. Poor customer service.

Drop off was very easy, great daily rate1. Unlimited mileage quoted at Priceline reservation, BIG surprise when at pick mileage cap at 375 miles per day. NO GOOD, we do not like surprises. 2. First van provides had expired license plates, no good to drive out of state. 3. Priceline customer service not helpful on resolving "unlimited" mileage discrepancy.

NOTHINGWORST experience EVER!!! There was supposed to be a shuttle to come pick us up to get the car, NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP, nor did they answer the phone calls for 3 straight hours. They said they are not to be held accountable for any reservations done through a 3rd party website. Had to rebook me all over at a higher rate. Also had the rudest employees. My advice is to be responsible and hire better employees. DON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL. It's a HUGE SCAM and their cars are full of damages.

Nothing. The reservation was not honored. I rode my bike 60 miles to pick up a van that was not actually reserved. NO representatives from Kayak/Priceline could be reached via phone. Automated CS told me I could make an appointment to speak with someone later in the week! I found another van, rode another 13 miles to get it and instead of paying the $322 I confirmed with Priceline I ended up paying $900 at Enterprise.Literally everything.

NU is not a good rental company. They don’t have any details on how to get to their rental location from the airport. We arrived at LAX at 7:30am and tried to call them, but they didn’t open till 8:00. They said send a text, but it was just an automated response with no help. Finally we were able to find out we had to take a shuttle for a hotel that had no NU labeling or anything to let us know it was the right shuttle. We are defiantly going with a bigger rental company next time to make it a smoother time.

The price for the rental was amazing but it also came with a price. There were no clear instructions about what shuttle to take to the NU car rental pickup. I placed multiple calls to the phone number provided and i could never get assistance feom the front desk. When you call the automated voice gives you a number to text 'the manager' for assistance. So I did, and got NO reply for over 20 minutes. I was fustrated and confused as to why i couldnt get a call straight through to someone!? This was our first time using the LAX terminal and had no clue as to where the NU shuttle would arrive. And i was unable to get help!! By this time it felt like NU was a scam, not being able to get assistance with any of the phone numbers i was try. We decided to just call an uber and travel over to their office. That uber cost me an extra 30 dollars! While in the uber I finally get a text telling me what door and terminal to wait at to get a shuttle... Are you kidding me.... I finally got a text after 42 minutes!!? I text them back telling them my fustration and asking why their reply took so long. All i got was a ' sorry'.. Hate to break it to you NU rentals but a sorry wont get me my 30 dollars from uber back. And i will definitely stay clear from NU in the future.. Really, no phone number would connect to the front desk and whats with this 'text a manager' crap?? A reply back in 5 minutes would of been perfectly fine, but almost 45 minutes of waiting with no support!?? Pure horrible customer service. The check in was smooth, the return was smooth. I do have one other thing though, the car needed air in the tires. After about 2 hrs into my drive i get a 'check tire pressure' icon on the dashboard. All four tires were under 30 psi... The hell??? Does NU not check their tires before renting them out?? All tires were at different ranges from 22-28, the max psi is 52! Thats WAY too low. So we had to dish out 1.75 of our own money for that. When i returned the car and let the NU employee about the car tires he just brushed it off. No apologie no reason to why i was given a car in such condition. He simply said ok and wrote something down on a clip board. Never again will i rent NU car rentals. Im sticking to Sixth.

I never pickup the car because my flight from LAS to LAX 1079 with JetBlue was delayed the airplane had security issues. So I called NU from LAS to inform them of the involuntary circumstances no one answered and kept having the answering machine then I tried Priceline they said they will get back to me in 7 days!!! I used to search your engine for everything I want but with such incident I would go directly to the main agent. I kindly ask you for complete refund of my money

We were disappointed that when we arrived, our booking was canceled due to a flight delay. They have a policy that if you aren’t there within 2 hours of your reservation time your booking is canceled, which is fair, but we just didn’t know. It would be great if they collected snd checked flight numbers prior to cancelations. They ran out of cars in our price range. However, the customer service was exceptional and we were upgraded to a different car and given discounts on the upgrade cost. Between the amazing customer service rep, the managers, and the guy inspecting our car prior to taking it - the staff was absolutely amazing. We were very pleased with the upgraded car and the care they took to support us when we were struggling to figure out what to do. Thank you for an excellent service and amazing car rental experience!

When we could not understand what she was telling us - she just kept repeating it with no additional explanation. They have you just go over by yourself and pick out a car when they are all parked in so tight there are few options. They are also mostly kias even though your reservations says Toyota or something similar for midsize car. Misleading and unhelpful.

Took very long to receive the rental. The shuttle to and from were helpful and efficient however, the rental company was extremely short staffed. It took about an hour to be checked in which is too long in my opinion. Everyone working was very nice and patient but they need more staff to accommodate higher volumes of rentals.

So the Kayak app let me book a car, insure the car, get dropped off in a corner in LA at 11pm at night and the bus driver says “call the company and they’ll pick you up”. Except, I call the company and they’re CLOSED. Walking back (on the freeway) to the airport, get on another car company (yes I checked that they were open) and finally got a car at nearly midnight. Worst rental experience ever!

Rude customer service rep named Malik. Does not know the meaning of CUSTOMER service. My car wasn't available when I arrived and rep told me I had to just sit and wait, not knowing when the car would come in, even though they had other vehicles available. Also tried to get me to pay an additional charge for the vehicles they had available. We went back and forth until another customer service rep, I think named Emery, stepped in and provided true CUSTOMER service. Terrible experience though.

There was direct no airport shuttle as described online. After waiting 30 minutes we called and got a very confusing voice mail about taking a airport shuttle to a particular parking lot then instructing the driver to take us somewhere else. Needless to say the driver had no clue what we were talking about and we ended taking a cab to their site. Customer service on-site was good, and the rate was good, but it was an older car will high miles and very limited options. My biggest complaint was they did not have their own airport shuttle as indicated online.

The PRICE AGREED TO at the time of booking that is reflected in the receipt that is emailed to you is NOT WHAT YOU END UP PAYING when you get to the counter. Economy/Allied Rent a Car requires all renters to accept a collision insurance policy for an additional $35/day. Unless you can provide your personal car insurance declaration page. Who carries that with them when they travel? it is a ridiculous requirement. $146 increased to $216 = $108/day. NO BARGAIN for the long lines, poor service, and limited office hours. never again.

From the start to the finish, this rental company (Economy Rent a Car) was amazingly terrible. I don't give negative reviews hardly ever. Let me list the problems: 1. Its difficult to navigate to their rental agency from LAX. Requires calling them to listen to automated instructions that are outdated. Then take a LAX bus to an off site parking lot where you wait in a ghetto unsheltered area to get picked up again by their shuttle...when they actually arrive. 2. People at the front desk a the rental agency were quite slow. Then they have you sign a LOT of digital stuff. Much more than any other rental agency I have used and I have used rental cars for a long time for work. 3. The vehicle they advertised on the internet (Fiat 500 or similar in my case) turned out to be some Nissan mid-size vehicle. 4. The vehicle was significantly damaged as were others. I stood and watched another customer indicating damage all around his vehicle. Then when I finally hunted down my vehicle (because they didn't come to me or give clear instructions...but I finally found it and a worker who could help me get my car), the bumper was not original, it had scratches in several places to the metal underneath that was starting to rust, the interior was dirty, had an unusual smell, the car door handle was not original, and the trim by the driver side ear window was bent up and partially off. I literally started laughing when I inspected it. I was like, "Dude, I'm not getting on your case, but I've literally never seen a rental car like this before that has this much damage. Oh, and this isn't even the right car." To which he apathetically gave an almost non-response. LOL. Lastly, when I took the car kind of hard around a corner on an overpass, there was something wrong with the suspension or something that made the car swerve/jerk in a scary manner so that I slammed on the brakes and drove it carefully around corners from there on. LOL. I'm not joking or exaggerating in what I have just described. This was by far, the worst rental experience I have ever had since using rental vehicles in several countries since 2004. If you want to lose one and a half hours picking up your rental vehicle to get a mediocre car that is potentially damaged then I'd recommend this place. Just pray that it isn't raining when you are standing in their offsite parking lot waiting for their shuttle to come and pick you up. On second thought, perhaps the rain would keep people away from mugging you while you wait there.

The representatives were very nice. I received a prompt call from a very nice person after my complaint about my experience. I was refunded the extra $10.00 I had been charged to get me to the airport in time to catch my flight.Hidden charge - about $4.50 more than quoted by KAYAK. I had to pay $4+ for the inconvenience of waiting longer (they only run every 15 min) for a shuttle; than having to wait 15 mins for another pick up to take me to the car rental. The car was old and smelled. The carpeting was coming away from the floor.

AMPM was just bad newsThey mixed up my pick up time. I was scheduled to pick up my vehicle at 12 noon, they had me picking up at 2pm. She was adamant about this 2pm pick up time until I showed her my reservation on my phone. After this got worked out, she told me that they not only didn't have the vehicle I requested, they only had one vehicle on site- a gigantic minivan, which isn't ideal for city driving. When returning the vehicle they drop you off about a mile away from the shuttle because, in our driver's words "We don't pay to enter the parking lot" A mile walk carrying luggage at the end of the trip isn't how you want to end a trip.

Took me over 40 minutes to get a car. First car I got had broken trunk lock. Instead of replacing this car, stuff starts to guide me how should I close this trunk. Overall, if you want cheap car, this is the place to go. If you want normal service, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Great priceI liked that the service was the cheapest I found for the weekend. I have rented out of LAX before and I have waited over 30 minutes to get the right shuttle to arrive. This shuttle went around pretty frequently, and you end up in a random lot but AMPM is there when you arrive, ready with your car. They take you back to the hotel where their office is and process your paper work. The process is pretty quick and the service is great.The cars could use a car wash, at least the one we got. It wasn't very dirty, and we did't mind it too much, its just when you rent a car you expect it to be clean. For the price and the service it's not too bad.

1) the listing said rental car pickup was offsite but it was not at the typical rental car lot - it was an annex that was basically a parking lot where vans came to pick you up. So you have to take a shuttle bus to the parking lot and then wait for the van to come pick you up. I waited 15 min at this lot. 2) they had a great text with info on how to get to the car but neither of the phone numbers on the text reached a person 3) the rate was great but they require collision insurance and require you to buy it from them if you cannot show proof of your collision insurance, basically doubling the cost of the rental. 4) while they had 3 people working, it took forever to get my car, probably because of the insurance info. If they communicated the insurance requirement ahead of time, people could be prepared 5) shuttle van takes you back to airport directly, however the driver was loading up when I got there to drop my car but he left without me. When he came back (10-15 min) he waited for the people dropping off their car.

They seem to have a fleet of only dodge chargers, which is probably as far from “green” as you can get and still be driving a car. The bad reviews that I found after I had made the reservation made me tense and suspicious all the way through the process. They wouldn’t accept my credit card rental car insurance and asked for my personal car insurance which is crazy sketch and I’m still trying to figure out how they are going to get me. The booking on kayak says unlimited miles but when you get there they say that’s only for tourists. Locals only get 200 miles. I treated that car with white gloves terrified that the smallest smudge would get me hit with a $400 repair fee (as many other reviewers have said happened to them). But you know what? If I hadn’t been so in edge going in, I’d say it all went smoothly. They have got to do a LOT to rehab their image and make their process look more transparent and trustworthy because the stress I had worrying about this rental is enough to make me pay more at enterprise or hertz.

It was almost a quick and easy check in before I was asked to show proof of insurance, which was not listed anywhere on my itinerary as needed materials. I wasted an hour until the shop closed arguing about my coverage and was pressured into purchasing local liability coverage. This place only had paper contracts, and felt like I got what I paid for. I wouldn't book again through them. The car they gave me was very nice, but it seems like people go to rent cars from them that are used for street racing? I had to sign a bunch of terms that I would not use the car for street racing, which seemed strange.

Honestly wouldn't not rent through green motion again, the service was fine but they have so many restrictions. The price was affordable but they charged fees for soo many things. It was good experience….more control of social distancing with people (have someone monitor this especially during pandemic). Took an hour from getting in line to get car. Gentleman who checked me in did awesome job communicating with me being Deaf and patient. For Kayak, is to have direct number to call in case something happens to make change of dates or time. This was challenging as the car rental wouldn’t help and couldn’t make change of date due. Make your number available to call for such situation.

Don’t bother unless you like to be frustrated & waste time. 2 shuttles from LAX, & the first shuttle drops you at a “depot” which is really a street corner without seats or covering from the hot sun. Then when you call for the second shuttle, no one answers. The second shuttle was a van without enough room for the hot & tired customers. The office is in a tacky industrial area. The office is dirty, dingy & way too crowded with no where to sit either inside or out during the excessively long wait for help. Fees are tacked on. I paid Kayak for added insurance coverage then was told I’d have to buy Green Motion/U-Save insurance, too, as they didn’t honor the insurance through the Kayak site OR add my own insurance. The office is ONLY open 8:00AM-6:00PM & no extended shuttle, so fend for yourself if you have early & evening flights. The clerk didn’t know what he was doing & another person had to come over to correct everything. Even though I picked up the car 2hours late & had written documentation the return time had been adjusted, it wasn’t. So 2 hours before the return time I started receiving calls as to why the car had not been returned & that my time could be extended for a fee. Never had such a difficult, time consuming, annoying experience renting a car, even in foreign countries! Oh, and 5 days later the $250. Deposit still hasn’t been returned! Worst car rental experience of my life! Avoid & go with a reputable company. Also, don NOT use Kayak to book. Go directly to the rental car company to avoid a bunch of undisclosed fees!

Advantage LAX from a management point of view was disastrous. Not only did they not have an SUV per our booking, it took over TWO HOURS to get from the kerbside outside the airport waiting for their shuttle bus, to completing the paperwork and being given the car. Would never use again.

Not the car I booked...Sat NAv was a waste of timeBrand new car Easy drop offWas a smaller model than booked - I booked a Jeep Cherokee or similar - got a Jeep Patriot which is considerably smaller. Added the GPS - waste of time! The signal constantly dropped out and then tried to re-route taking us off course. If we'd have followed the instructions we would never have got out of LA!

HorribleThe people at silver car were very friendly and nice and gave us a ride to another rental car service ( Hertz )I will never book with kayak again, there was no fine print stating that I had to be over the age of 22 so when we got to silver car with all of our luggge expecting to get a car we were turned down because of age requirements!!! There was also no way for me to get my 48$ back from what I put down on the rental because I booked through a 3rd party app. So yeah KAYAK y’all suck . Go to HERTZ

Hidden TermsThe car was new and clean.They rely on Carrentals.com which has a horrible customer service experience. I wanted to adjust my booking, but Carrentals.com insisted that U-SAVE policy would not allow it unless I booked another car with them. When I arrived to pick up my car, U-SAVE mandated that I purchase third party liability insurance from them as they don't accept Canadian or international insurance coverage. This consequently raised the cost of my rental by another $250. I will not use them again.

Fraud Alert!! This company is a scam.The numbers given on the reservation - one was the corporate HQ in Mississippi which didn't answer the phones and the local number was a disconnected Verizon wireless number. No shuttles despite advertisement, and when I took taxi to the address in the reservation there was no such business there. What the heck? This wasn't at any small airport, it was at LAX. Several hours later when I'm already in another company's rental car I got a call back from the HQ who said the reservation email must have had old phone number and address. As for the shuttle, they would have needed me to take a shuttle to a private parking garage telling them I'm using their lot and then crossing the street. That is shady as heck. Too bad for them I already listed this as a fraudulent/scam charge on my credit card. Lady at HQ said they would fight it, and I broke my cool and told them to suck an egg. Good luck getting your $32 from me.

2 types of insurance and the car still wasn't coveThe weather on the day of pick up was pretty good.The Alianz insurance I paid for during the online booking process only covered me for personal injury. When I arrived at U-save, I was forced to pay extra for the mandatory liability insurance required by the state of California. I had paid for two types of insurance and still had no cover on the actual car I was driving. I've rented cars through a number of companies in L.A and wasn't surprised to be screwed with the insurance. There's room in the market for a rental company with transperancy, maybe U-save could be the change.
