8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, beach, swimming pool , cleanliness of resort
Cons: Bar service slow , and to separate the smokers from non smoking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The best beach is in front of hotel Great all inclusive
Cons: Gym too small and not well equipted At ginger bar in the morning(they work from 10) you need to wait aprox 20 minutes to get drinks. Some of the rooms are too far from the beach, pool and restaurant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and food in general great, plenty and freshly cooked. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful. New Year’s Eve dinner and after party great fun, all out doors.
Cons: Airport was the worst I’ve ever been too, old, no air conditioning, security a mess, overall I would avoid if at all possible arrival and departure from the Zanzibar airport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay in Riu! I have chosen this hotel for a my birthday and did not regret it. Our room 3** was spacious enough for 3 adults and 3 large suitcases and also really clean Pool areas are well maintained and food in restaurant extremely tasty! Special thanks to reception staff for great services (delayed luggages by airline), Moureen in Ginger bar (hope you know you are the best!!) and Ally for keeping us all fit with water aerobics We are definitely coming back!
Cons: That we had to leave! Some power disturbances were present but did not bother us at all
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere.
Cons: Our room was a bit far from beach and restaurant
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and the whole resort is very nice and green. Also the beach is wonderful, even better than expected.
Cons: For the price I would have expected a better quality from the food/drinks and also the show at night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are increadibly helpful. The food is amazing. The rooms are spotless, and it is so close to the beach! We loved out stay at Aluna and will be back.
7.1 Good
Pros: The property is beautiful and simple, if u like quiet this is a place to be, however there is a beach but no water, u have to take a taxi to go to where the beach is, it’s a private beach so u need to buy something from the hotel so that u can use their facility, so if u want to go to a hotel with a beach this will not be ideal,
Cons: It’s has nice employees and the manager is friendly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved attention to detail and style
Cons: The beach wasn’t so nice
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Truely exceptional place
Cons: Can't fault this place

10.0 Excellent
Pros: food was very nice stuff is very friendly, very big nice pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We wanted something different than your standard touristy resort on the beach and Anita's place was exactly that! Cute, clean and in a perfect location. Beach is 5 seconds away and I loved the short walk on the beach to the area restaurants. Anita was very helpful and nice; she told us about the locals, gave recommendations on places to go and eat and helped us with transportation.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well located and the staff was very froendly. The checkin was very smooth and they went out of their way to accomodate all our requests, including customising food :-). The hotel was also very understanding in allowing us to have a late check out. The rooms are well appointed and roomy; we'd had booked a 3 bedroom villa. The spa is very good and offers a variety of options at affordable prices. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: We were a little disappointed that the 3rd bedroom in the villa needed to be accessed separately from outside; but it wasn't a major issue. The upkeep of the amenities could be better. The aircon stopped cooling and the room telephone wasnt working. The staff rectfied the aircon promptly though.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location...the many infinity pools..fantantastic! Dinners at the jetty restaurant was fabulous..especially due to the live band.
Cons: The staff was slow to respond to any issues raised we had to call several times to get a service. The villa where we stayed in was generally not very clean and there is need for a better equipped kitchen.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room
Cons: The food
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Seafront is truly a few meters from the beach. The rooms are spacey, luxurious and well furnished. Showers work and hit water is plenty. The pool is lovely, Fitness centre too.
Cons: Internet very poor and electricity cut regularly We had half board, it was a pity that although Zanzibar offers fresh fish and other seafood, the a la carte and buffet did not have much of this. The menu for lunch is a little monotone and repetitive.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing facilities, great food, very good service
Cons: It is very expensive, but it’s worth the stay.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Service was very very poor at the check in and thereafter from all front desk staff. Most expensive room in the hotel, ocean front suite for 900$ a night but the telephone didn’t work and bedsheets were torn. Very very poor experience and the whole hotel has run down immensely since I was there last 3 years ago.

Pros: Very helpful and genuinely polite staff
Cons: Nothing
5.1 Okay
Pros: Beach front,To get to location from Airport will take 1hr 30min.Roads are not good ,you go through village not great travel at night roads are very bumpy. Not worth $250 per night with breakfast only
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: During low tide the sea water level was too shallow
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Booked Doubletree Nungwi but the Kayak stuffed up the booking and created a reservation with a hotel in a different city.
Cons: Wasted over an hour on the phone to Kayak who refused to find us an alternate hotel in Nungwi. Still waiting for a refund. Terrible booking experience. A good way to ruin a holiday.
7.9 Good
Pros: The property is just as shown in the pictures, immaculate and right by the beach. A variety of restaurants/bars are available at the property giving one a variety of options. Also has a clean functional pool & spa/salon, making it a great spot for relaxation. The view from my room was spectacular. This property is close to so many other great places (bars/restaurants/service providers for diving, snorkelling etc) that you can find if you walk along the shore.
Cons: 1. The day I arrived (NYE) I found a bill with a quote of $150 MORE than what my booking showed. When I asked, I was told it was for a NYE dinner at the property. As I was trying to understand why this had not been communicated to me earlier or shown in my booking on booking.com, the duty manager (Mr Sala El Din Ahmed) stepped forward and was so rude saying that I have no option but to pay because I’d be denied check-in and that I should take up my complaint with booking.com. I found this to be very unprofessional and it was upsetting to say the least because this could’ve been communicated to me earlier. 2. There was a foul smell coming from the bathroom in the evenings.
7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is small, nice size, does not feel overwhelmed. Stuff is incredible nice. They would do everything to make you stay pleasant. Location of the hotel is just outside the village which at first could be shocking as life seem difficult there but if you came to see true Zanzibar, this is right place. Just step out of the hotel and you will be in a true Africa, very friendly, full of colors.....Room was spacious
Cons: Food could be much better. It felt always the same. Fruit at the breakfast could be more fresh, juices were mixed with the water...cushions on the beach could be replaced as they looked worn out and dirty, but at the same time clean towels were available all day long
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had the best experience at this resort. Staff was super nice. They remember uour face and make sure you are comfortable and part of the group. Room was stunning and right on the beach
Cons: As a vegetarian, i didn't have too many options. It was either rice with veggies or potatoes. Maybe add more options
7.0 Good
Pros: Beds and pillows are super comfy! The food is OK. Breakfast omelettes made by James were delicious. Fisherman's grill restaurant was really tasty.
Cons: Spa service was average. The beach had a lot of seaweed washed up on the shores. Beaches further down towards kendwa were much cleaner.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and absolutely loved the beach!
Cons: The smell from mosquito spray. The times of the beach bar closing for food and drinks. The Zan Tours was convenient! Thank you!
7.5 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is great, and the view is amazing! However it is full of turist. The restaurants are good, especially the Sea Breeze! The stuff could not give you more, they are so nice!
Cons: The hotel, the garden and the beach are nice. But the room needs renovation. The bathroom is not 5* quality at all. The tap, the toilet seat, the shower are just too old.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall, we were very satisfied with all the services, amenities and exceptional services, what they offered, including the all inclusive package, having plenty of variety in the food and drinks as well. The beach is amazing - right in front of the pool, very clean beach area. The pool bar was very well equipped, even though, when there were many customers, the service was a bit slow, but that's not the biggest issue, we could live with that. :)
Cons: My only one disappointment was related to the bar/lounge situated on the water, which was advertised in the photos as a shisha lounge place, and for the entire stay, they didn't manage to get charcoal - so they couldn't serve at all shisha.
9.4 Excellent
6.0 Good
Pros: typical resort. over the top
Cons: the staff are unqualified, poor english, poor common sense
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I requested 2 rooms close to each other...but had booked a double and a junior suite. Manager Sadeep upgraded double to Jnr suite to accommodate this For this he deserves a 10. 3 Different restaurant experience over 4 night stay was pleasant Beach is awesome
Cons: For price paid, rooms ( junior suite) could be more updated Small ( but manageable) bathroom Need for better quality pillows Maybe all inclusive should give lower rate for non alcoholic guests , as we pay for a service definitely not utilized
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent
Cons: I like every thing!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The site of the hotel. To be able to have breakfast before the beach. Get help with mosquito nets in the evening. The frendlyness of the staff
Cons: Room à little small for two compared to storage. Beach mattress should perhaps be washed more often
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Having a business on airbnb and knowing what good hosting conditions mean, we can definetelly and strongly recommend this place: 1. Very nice and helpfull administrators, 2. The location is on the best beach from the island, both, on calm part of the beach and 10 minutes walk from the many restorants and day/night vibe of the Nungwi beach (where the blue waters are). 3. The rooms are spatious and of good condition and quality, very clean. Calm during the days and night. 4. Nice dinners organised by the hotel with a very affordable price. 5. Good breackfast. 6. An amazing free tour organised by the hotel to the local zoo and the village. We will definetlly come back!
Cons: Everything that can appear is solved by the administrators that are very kind
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It had a good location in Nungwi
Cons: We stayed at smiles for one week. One of the reason we booked in was that it has a pool, but the pool was so disgusting we didn’t swim in it once. The water was stagnant and not clear, we complained many times to the staff. On 4 occasions we didn’t have water in the shower, it was fixed every time. But instead of fixing it permanently it was just fixed for the moment. The bar have a very limited and boring assortment. The restaurant I wouldn’t recommend either, we ordered food for the room one day. After 2 hours it came, after we reminded them 2 times. I don’t think this hotel give value for your money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There was buffet breakfast available with wide choice of food. Fresh tropical juices and fruits were available, and the breakfast was delicious. There all rooms are with view to pool and ocean. It is good place for relaxing.
Cons: The hotel terrace is shared between the the two neighborhoods. Sometimes there it was too loud. The sea view is too bad from the rooms in 1st floor Mosquito net is not built into the windows.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location is good, but Hotel is hard to find. Staff is great and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was not good. Too few options and could be much better quality. We didnt eat dinner because breakfast gave bad advertise. Pool was very dirty and we couldnt use it at all. Luckily sea is in front of the Hotel. Room was too small and dark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr Sayed and his team at the hotel were absolutely exceptional. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable with anything we needed. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like

8.0 Excellent
Pros: view from the pool during high tide - service at the restaurant + bar - the room was cleaned every day
Cons: WiFi - slow connection and gets disconnected very often - 15-20 min walk to Nungwi city center
7.9 Good
Pros: Nothing too special about the property yet everything is quite right and standardized. The staff are professionally polite but not that friendly, food is mediocre. In general a “safe” place to stay that won’t go wrong.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is amazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful, speedy response to emails by Shauna (the owner) was amazing and the bungalows are clean and well maintained and they give you a sense of privacy
Cons: The menu becomes limited with long stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beach is a very good “compromise” between the very tidal ones like Jambiani or Paje and the ones on the West coast. You still have a nice and local vibe without being “isolated” in a resort but you can still enjoy the perks of nice accomodation. We liked it; and if you find it available, take the beachfront room, it has a great view!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is lovely, spotless clean and the staff are very attentive. We stayed in a beach front house which had amazing sea views. The hotel is good if your looking for peace and quiet as it’s a little out the way of anywhere. Restaurant is good and not expensive, also arranged transfers with them at a good price.
Cons: Nothing really, for us we like to be a little closer to other restaurants and bars so it was perfect for the 5 days.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Gourgeous ocean panoramas, & seclusion. Property's tucked away in a lovely corner. No hawkers or beach boys. Just you and the sea stretching out for miles. Also, lovely swimming at high tide if you're willing to wade a few metres into the ocean. Just beware of urchins.
Cons: Small pool lounge area, so often got quite crowded and noisy. Breakfast selection's unimpressive. Not much of a beach. Place is a bit overpriced.
6.5 Good
Pros: I like that is spatious, it is on the beach.
Cons: It is a nice hotel, but it's not worth the money. They have some work to do with improving services and staff attitude.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and very helpful staff. Willing to do anything for you to make your stay more enjoyable. Beautiful and well maintained garden .
Cons: Flies at the restaurant . We had most of our meals served in our room which was perfect
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable, loved the style of it.
Cons: However we booked an ocean view room, it was only side-ocean view, definitely did not see the ocean from the balcony. Avoid the laundry, all of our clothes came back 2-3 size smaller. You can only use the beach in high tide. Service is friendly, but way too slow. It is a general problem all over the island, whatever you order you will wait at least an hour everywhere... And the worst thing is the road to the hotel... I am travelling a lot and honestly I never had to travel through such a terrible a road! I would suggest try to book a hotel closer to the main road, also the beach is nicer between Nungwi and Kendwa anyway. Be prepared that on the beach you won’t have more than 5 minutes privacy. The locals will constantly bomb you with excursion offers or try to sell something for you. They are very pushy.

Nestled on the beach, this Nungwi property is within 1 mi (2 km) of Nungwi Natural Aquarium, Nungwi Beach, and Kendwa Beach. Mnarani Natural Aquarium is 1.5 mi (2.4 km) away.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is amazing, regardless the 90’ trip from airport staff are friendly and willing to help
Cons: Badly maintained, and F&B is a complete disaster. Not a 5 star at all.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The staff was unprofessional and the service was just bad!! The water in the water polo pool was just 1/4 inch away from the electricity socket. This hotel is way too over rated! The beach was packed with annoying local beach boys. Very bad internet connection and the room had mosquitoes! The quality of the room was bad. The food was ok. The meat and fish was definitely not fresh!! Half of the price would be just acceptable, but not a cent more!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful holiday. Amazing resort with such friendly staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located on the beach, great location. Very big and butifle hotel. Everything included all day. Very nice stuff
Cons: The variety of the food is limited. The desert or ok only We were on forth floor without elevator, But we didn't mind that Sutes more to fammelies than to cupples
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Its Africa. Dont expect real 5 European stars but the hotel is really good. Beautiful beach, nice swimming pools and friendly staff. Rooms need a bit renewal but they are still ok. Food is fine, only sea food is missing - i have found only octopus through 7 days stay.
Cons: The road from airport to hotel is horrible. Last 500 m is local road and the hotel should inmediatelly invest in it. If You pay 500 usd per night You might expect at least safe road!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing. wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is 100% amazing. There are 4-5 pools with swim up bars and a private beach, where people can't really bother you. On the public side of the beach, tour guides try to hackle you to buy a tour - both good and bad - it's easy to book something, but sometimes you get tired of saying "No Thank you." The staff are more than friendly, they remembered my name in the dining room. The rooms are spectacular with more footage than needed. Volleyball court to play, bocce ball. The food also was quite amazing.
Cons: Loved everything
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beach
Cons: Food offer was not great - wine on the all inclusive list not good at all. Towels and sheets not 100% clean. Poor customer service. Despite requesting 2 rooms close together at the time of booking - our children’s room was in a different block. Management just shrugged and said they couldn’t do anything but offered to move us to different rooms the following day.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The beach and location are the main reasons why the hotel should exist, however this is no way near a 4 or 5 star hotel. Fortunately the room we got was recently renovated, but just the room.
Cons: The landscape is awful, garden is not well taken care Old facilities, the hotel is very old you can see deteriorated painting everywhere, dirt, decadent structure, every where. Gym equipment was all rotten and not functioning Just one restaurant with the same poor menu every day, is basically currys, rice, potatoes, grilled or fried meat and fish and really bad desserts. Even the fruits offer which surprised us in Africa was very poor and limited! Bad quality fruits! All the food is offered in one very small A/C area (the rest of restaurant js outside) the problem js that all the food is together including the cooking of meat, frying and grilling, so result is you get the smoke, and all other foods as well even desserts taste like the smoke of meat. Disgusting. The “second” restaurant they claim to have is actually a snack bar with food cooked at least in the morning (probably day before) and offerer to you over the entire day especially when main restaurant is closed, so the quality of the food is quite poor and uneatable. Imagine the heat in there, no ventilators are available nor the arquitecture helps for a fresher restaurant and is the only one they have. We saw unadjusted tourists that had just arrived having heat shocks sitting there. Eating will not be an enjoyable experience there you just go there cuz you have to. Room service doesn’t exist, this is a real inconvenience. All buildings for the rooms are 4 high floors, many stairs no elevator in any facility. No food is offered nor included at the beach or pools, even when it is an all inclusive hotel. You want an ice cream in that extreme heat, you pay extra for it and have to go as far as it is to order it. Even pop corn which is the only other food available in the area, you would have to pay for it. Entertainment is poor, really bad band playing 2 of the nights we stood there and it was new year’s eve! No minibar or water replacement at the room.

Pros: Friendly staff and quiet place to relax
Cons: More facilities and vibe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place to spend a quiet and quality time. Great for the solo traveler, a couple and family alike. Tucked away from the hustlers & beach boys and within walking distance to the public beach and a massive collection of African arts and crafts. The pictures on their site tell a true story,.Staff are genuinely kind, helpful and pleasantly accommodating.
Cons: Nothing caught my negative eye.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel area was really big, with really beautiful garden. Hotel offers everything you need on holiday - massage, water sport equipment, pool, even darts and billiard. Food was very good, breakfast always freshly made once receiving orders. As super bonus for me - hotel is located bit further from main hotels in Nungwi - so if you want to have quiet neighborhood, it is exactly the place you need. Super big thank you for the staff - very helpful, friendly and almost invisible.
Cons: Cannot find any
6.7 Good
Pros: The Zanzibar house room was very nice, we had own balcony with hammock, a kitchenette area with kettle and teas and coffees and fridge. It was always clean, the cleaners look after the resort well. The pool was decent, nice to lounge around. The resort is very green with lots of trees and plants around. The gardens are well maintained. The best feature of our stay were the staff. They were always friendly and welcoming.
Cons: This place is on the other side from where all the exciting activities are such as beaches, restaurants, bars etc. If you are looking for peace and quite then this might be a good option but otherwise look closer to the main resorts. The dinner was hit and miss and the portions were tiny. We had to book our room with half-board as that was the only option. As there's no local restaurants close by it was convenient but not very tasty and satisfying. On top of that you were always required to purchase a drink with dinner for extra costs including just water which was massively overpriced. Water was $2, the shops sell it for 1000 shillings. Beer was $4 which is the most expensive we have seen in all of Zanzibar. Half board should include at least a water in my opinion, they try to extort as much money as they can. Half board is definitely not a good value for money. There's no sandy beach around, there's a tiny bit of beach as you walk down the stairs but it's not what one imagines a beach to be like. It's full of pebbles, sharp rocks, seaweed and garbage. The closest sandy beach is half an hour walk away through the village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was close to the ocean and the beach was fantastic
Cons: They need to work on the water in the bath rooms. The pressure was not enough.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed were not comfy at all. And too small. Breakfast choices too limited.
Cons: THE BED NOT COMFORTABLE BREAKFAST WAS TOO ORDINARY MEAL MENU ALSO HAD LIMITED CHOICES

7.0 Good
Pros: The hosts were super nice
Cons: The breakfast menu needs some improvement. Same breakfast every morning. And the wifi signal was really weak.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quiet and safe oasis of those wonderful gardens have made our stay a marvelous one. We stayed in the Desert Rose Suite and had a wonderful time. The toasters on the balcony are such a sweet touch. The staff are very friendly and well trained. We thank Elizabeth and Seif for their warm welcome and the safe and beautiful haven they have created.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staf. Always ready to help. Great location. Daily Yoga classes - provided by Tara South - were fantastic. Enjoyed every minute.
Cons: Nothing. All great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, right on the beach, close to restaurants. The pool is great (we used it at low tide) and the staff is very friendly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and so is the owner of the hotel. This property has a nice bar, cool pool, good breakfast and great rooms.
Cons: The wifi signal could have been slightly better.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff, specially Suleman were very kind and helpful Spacious room and bathroom. Good basic breakfast.
Cons: The internet connection was poor as older reviews mentioned, just a couple of sun beds by the beach along the sidewalk, too public.
4.6 Okay
Pros: our room was big. the location is good and the stuff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: if you are taller than 1,75 don't stay here. the bed is really uncomfortable for tall people. internet is not working at some part of the hotel. breakfast was not good for a 4 star hotel. at the check out when we asked to pay by credit card, we were asked to pay %5 comission.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was great
Cons: The facility was very tired and needed a good spruce up. At first glance it did not look like the photos, The gardens needed a lot of work, lawns wern't mowed and the pool was dirty. It's a expensive place for what it was. They also charge 5% for the use of your credit card. The breakfast was ordinary. The entrance to the facility was through a shanty town with terrible roads if you could call them that.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely professional staff. Food was excellent, nothing was a problem for the staff they did everything to help out provided the best advice and tips on the area. Also a stunning beach and resort grounds.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Zanzibari is an oasis- the grounds are beautifully kept. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and perched over the ocean. Coral shoes are a must for exploring the beach area below. The food was consistently excellent- we loved eating at the hotel because the food was flavorful fresh and absolutely delicious. All the staff were attentive, friendly and lovely to interact with. We also enjoyed the entertainment provided by the hotel- such as traditional Swahili dance shows and acrobatics. The rooms were lovely, large and peaceful. So much value for money and serenity!
Cons: No critique for the hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place away from the big hotel complex. It is a small little paradise. When it’s low tide you can walk along the beach the to the main beach in Nungwi in approximately 20 min. Recommend to try the melon boat for breakfast, it was amazing! The staff is very helpful and it felt like a family directly when we arrived. Really recommend this place!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is very rustic, quiet and beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive to your needs. They go out of the way to help and they speak great English. Choose the private pool villa and it is the most amazing and relaxing time you will get.
Cons: The beach is not ideal for swimming. Loads of sea urchins and rocky bed. Choice of food was poor too. We only stayed 1 night, but had we decided to stay more we would hav been served the same food everyday.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and great view from the room, which also had a lovely terrace
Cons: We stayed in the family suite which we found quite expensive for what it actually was. The room didn’t have a proper safe but just a box with a lock. The bathroom, to be refurbished and modernised to be in line with the standard of a 4 star hotel, didn’t have a proper door but just a curtain, and the water evacuation from the shower was not working well. We had only one big towel per person and would have appreciated two. The fridge was quite old. Breakfast could also be improved. All in all we ad a good time as the location is very good, the garden nice and well kept and staff friendly and helpful, but we thought that under the current conditions this is rather a 3 star hotel than a 4 star
6.3 Good
Cons: Dinner menu has limited options. Swimming pool was dirty.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in three different resort while on the island and we found the chef to be the best we experienced during our stay. All our meals were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were beautifully decorated with flowers each day. The beach front has loads of sun beds and hammocks available for relaxing. It was pure heaven.
Cons: It would be great if more resorts in Zanzibar had water stations available so that guest could fill up reusable water bottles during the day and at meal times. This would greatly reduce the amount of plastic bottles generated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great selection of breakfast options, cooked to order and served by the nice and friendly staff. The staff are just the nicest and accommodating people, taking care if our every needs. They really made our Christmas special with smiles all around: Christmas buffet and five course dinners with music, dance and local acrobats kept us on the edge of our seats. They booked a sunset cruise along the coast for us on Christmas Eve with drinks, chips, fruit, drum band and dancing - the perfect antithesis to a cold Northern Christmas. The next day they booked for us a snorkling trip to Mnemba Island with crystal clear waters and a bustling reef ripped straight out of Finding Nemo. They even left us a Christmas greeting card and present on the bed in the evening! All transports to and from everything was booked and handled seamlessly by The Zanzibari, including pick up in Stone Town and the return trip. If you want crazy party, go to Nungwi Beach, but if you want one of the closer approximations to Paradise afforded us mere mortals on this earthly plane, go to The Zanzibari.
Cons: What complaints could there be in Paradise?

5.4 Okay
Pros: The beach and the sunbeds area were very nice. Staff were nice and kind
Cons: They say it's a ocean view room but all you can see is a bit of ocean behind the palm trees. Most of the water at the shower go out to the room instead to the drain. The food was not that good, vegetables were not cooked enough. At breakfast Pastries were Not fresh.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing beach and room facilities. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. Special shout out to Idris at the pool bar who climbed up a tree, broke coconuts and cut them open for us. Best hospitality. Even the chefs have cooking experience from Asian countries like China, Japan and India
Cons: The variety in buffet could have been a little more.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean environment and friendly staff . Proximity of everything the beach , the restaurant
Cons: The beds were hard , and room we were checked in on arrival had just been recently painted so not conducive although we we able to get another room same day .

8.0 Excellent
Pros: the location is fantastic with the most amazing beaches in close proximity. In addition, there are some shops within the hotel premises that enhance the experience.
Cons: would have liked beach chairs to relax but not possible when tide comes in as sand is completely covered with water. It would have been great if they had a platform with relaxing chairs and umbrellas that directly face the beach.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation Armani Bungalows was near, only walking distance, everything around shops etc were so handy to us.
Cons: Liked Everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 1night at Amaan Bungalows, and we really much liked the stay! In the evening the bar is just stunning, beautiful view on the turquoise ocean. There is no real beach side, but that’s completely fine.
Cons: Staff could be a bit more friendlier and efficient to my opinion.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Great location, good air conditioning.
Cons: You could never get a lounger by the pool, even though there is a notice saying that if a bed isn't being used for 20mins with a towel on it, it will be vacated. This is not the case. The pool towels looked about 15 years old and the guys who give them to you more or less needed to be woken up. The WiFi was rubbish, barely worked, had to constantly keep logging into it. This may be down to the constant power shortages. The taps and showers in the bathroom would dribble out water. The bed was uncomfortable. The restaurant area where you have a buffet breakfast was tiny for the size of the hotel, gets crowded quickly. Not a great variety of food. We stayed 3 nights and 1 morning we ordered eggs and never got them. Location of the spa is terrible. Right next to the pool. I had a wonderful massage, but couldn't relax as there were people almost shouting at the door way and people constantly walking in and out. Plus there was only a curtain separating my massage table from the rest of the room and outside. They should really think about moving the location or keep the spa treatments and hair braiding separate.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Staff could have been friendlier.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Short walk to the beach and great restaurants
5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Staff isn’t that friendly, very hard beds who squeak when you turn, loud AC, breakfast wasn’t very nice, but nice view over the ocean
