They tried their best to make up for their mistake
They lost our reservation and hotel was full. Nice to hear you have to go to another hotel for the first night and need to return for second night! We were not happy in spite of the thousand apologies!
The location is really close to the metro and tram stop so you can easily get across Paris. The hotel staff were friendly. Water bottles and tea/kettle was available in the room.
The pillows were too soft and mattresses although were comfortable didn't evoke a good night's sleep. The hotel staff were initially adamant they couldn't change the temperatures of the room and the first night was absolutely cold after persistent complaining we were able to get the temperature of the room increased. This is the first hotel I've stayed in that controlled the maximum temperature of the room. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. There wasn't a variety of cereals as one would expect and there weren't many options available to vegetarian diet. The shower looked very modern and fancy and was a pleasure to use but the glass to keep water within the shower was too short and most the water just ended up outside the shower cubicle :(
The breakfast for the first day, the next day, all food and drinks are the same
Greeted by the rude staff when I was checking in and arrived at Paris on the first day. So angry and disappointed with him. Initially, I told myself this rudeness is French culture. But later, I met with good staff when check out after two day stay.
Staff very reactive and civil, breakfast with fresh and tasty products, second room quiet and adequate size for 2 people.
In spite of special request for a quiet room during reservation our room was quite noisy, we changed for a quiter room which met our expectations, the first night spent was not nice really.
Pretty but very inconvenient
The location and room decor
Not enough staff were working the day we landed because it was a sunday, there was only 1 person there at the time. The rooms were VERY small, my husband and I couldnt move around without bumping into each other. The AC was not working and once it started we had to wake up from sleep and turn it on every other hour because it would turn off on its own. The bathroom was so tiny that you would flood the entire place if you simply had a shower and there werent enough towels for 2 persons.
The fully renovated 4-star Mercure Paris Alésia hotel features modern decor providing a sketched Parisian backdrop! Stay in a warm, modern setting and enjoy the peace and comfort of our rooms, whether you are on a family vacation or business trip. Ideally located close to the Porte d'Orléans metro stop, explore the capital and nearby neighborhoods of St-Germain-des-Prés and Montparnasse. Within easy reach of Orly Airport and the exhibition center.
