We loved the food, particularly excellent grand dinner on Thursday, but also on all other days. There was a small smack and drinks also in the afternoon. Spa area was nice, with different saunas.
Waiters, chef, .... all
The Mater Dei is a perfectly-managed hotel with a great attention to detail. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and communicate in English. The hotel has all the facilities one needs for a perfect skiing holiday, except a pool. Rooms are not spacious but spotlessly clean and pleasant, overlooking the mountains, beds comfortable. Fantastic food in terms of product quality and taste, but much too much :), like the 14-course dinner on New Year's Eve! I wanted to hug the chef who made desserts. Breakfast with a lot of choice, real coffee, real scrambled eggs, freshly squeezed juice... Foreign guests are well informed about things. Great location in a quiet area yet close to the village centre. Spacious parking lot. Hotel van takes you to the slopes. Greetings to Michele - the good soul of the hotel. I recommend Mater Dei at any time, Alicja W.
Bottled water in room would be nice.
Not much, total frustration, waste of time and money
Room: too small / very very tight for family, no room for luggage, you hit something every time you move. Beds: Catastrophic! mattress is literally dead! sinks almost a foot down, got neck and back pain. Breakfast: Nothing to eat, no veg. at all, lots of packaged crackers / dry food, no fresh juice. Value for money: Very expensive for what you get and total waste - you'd expect better from such a hotel / location, and I've stayed in similar hotels in the area before, so I know what I'm talking about.
Friendly staff who create an amazing atmosphere. Great food. Free transfer to/from the slopes. Free gala dinner on New Year's eve. Free apre ski desk in the reception area. Freee fitness room and sauna.
