8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, helpful staff
Cons: Expensive for what you get.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the hotel were excellent - kind, polite and very helpful. it was a great stay and would highly recommend the hotel. the staff could not have done more for us - it really made the place special. good secure parking, lovely fresh breakfast. the hotel is set right in the centre of the village but is very quiet and an oasis of calm.
Cons: nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique property, well located and very comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. Excellent breakfast and wine & cheese in evening was a very nice touch. The property has character.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Super location, helpful front desk, free wine and cheese tasting in the early evening was a great way to meet other travelers, as was the afternoon tea.
Cons: Absolutely nothing to dislike at this property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully unique property right in the middle of San Pedro. They do a wonderful job of making the entire property feel like a home for friends. We really enjoyed the nightly wine and cheese - it was a great way to meet other travelers and talk about the different experiences. Breakfast, tea, constant homemade cookies, and tips on where to have dinner meant that you were in no danger of going hungry! The communal spaces are inviting and numerous - there was no reason to stay in your room. Everyone was so warm and really made us feel like we were special. I hated to leave and would happily return.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great central location, close to the main street in town. Staff was wonderful. Afternoon tea provided a nice break and the wine tasting hour was a bonus. Breakfast was basic but good.
Cons: The lack of a/c was only an issue on the first day. I assume the room had been cleaned the day before and hadn’t been opened in 24 hrs. The room would get rather warm during the day and would take awhile to cool down but keeping both doors open and using the fan would take care of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled in this instance. I actually left Terrantai feeling a little better about the world at large. They were so warm and welcoming, and truly bent over backwards to help make my stay an San Pedro a great experience. This was not one staff member alone, but everyone I interacted with. For a stay that will leave you with a little smile in your heart, book Terrantai and don’t look back!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked absolutely everything about the hotel! Room was perfect, setting incredible, staff super friendly, food amazing...
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is fabulous. A stunning oasis in the middle of the desert with a focus on natural environment and sustainability without compromising style. Pool and spa amazing. Excellent food and wine. Bar staff, kitchen and wait staff and guides JP & Carolina especially) exceptional. Outdoor shower great! Loved the reading nook and minimalist room design. Barefoot luxury at its best. Genuinely excellent service and facilities (room, excursions, pool, yoga room, hot tub, gardens, reading nooks, outdoor showers and stunning views) without pretension. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Very expensive and reception staff a bit cold compared to the warmth everywhere else in hotel (both on email and in final bill payment). It is obviously expensive to maintain such a high level of services in a desert though! It’s possible it was more confusing because we were bed and breakfast rather than all inclusive (definitely looked the way to go for longer stays!). Overall just a few moments of confusion in an otherwise outstanding stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the activities as part of the resort. It was a little confusing as we purchased a bed & breakfast. They didn’t have prices for activities or lunch & dinner (We didn’t really eat breakfast)
Cons: Wish we had a set price list for items that we wanted to included. We loved the spas and we also did yoga outside it was amazing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, great staff
Cons: Lack of activities when it rains
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Above all else, the management and the staff went out of their way to make it an experience and not just a place to stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Not cheap but all inclusive. Staff (hotel, restaurant and guides) always very helpful. Trips organized very well. Normally 9am in the morning until 1pm. And then from 4pm to 7:30pm. Leaving a good time for lunch and resting in the hotel. I liked all the trips and on arrival there is a good planning with recommendations which trips to do. My trips were always in very small groups (max. 3) with several times 2 guides and only me! I am not sure whether this is always guaranteed (I was there in low season), but made it very helpful as everyone has different speed to walk or time to spend for taking photos. Often food (lunch or small picnic is provided) which I found sometimes a bit exaggerated if 2 groups from our hotel went to the same place (with different guides) and then having separately 2 tables with large amount of food. Guides are very helpful, knowledgeable, speaking different languages (I had German, English and Portuguese) and also – I prefer this – taking food together with the guests (I really do not like trips where the guides need to eat on a different place which I experienced in several place in the world). Only weak excursion was star gazing. The guide did not seem overly motivated and seemed more to try to get the excursion done. For example, he used the same eyepiece/ocular for watching deep sky objects (e.g. galaxies and nebulas) and for planets. Lunch and Dinner excellent. Very large variety changing every day with 3 options. When I did not like one of them, they provided me something else which was not on the menu. Breakfast was ok (but good for South American standards). I was in the Atacama mid of August which in my opinion was an excellent time. A bit chilly in the evening and even more in the morning; however, during the daytime excursions the temperature was very good (18 – 20 / 64 – 68 degrees) as the sun was still very strong.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kate was absolutely brilliant, the view of the mountains and stars, breakfast, the lodge itself was beautiful too
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Juan was very welcoming, enthusiastic and informative. Carol made lovely eggs for breakfast! Beautiful view and amazing place to sit outside and watch the stars at night!
Cons: £15 for 2.5kg of laundry seems a little extortionate, but maybe that’s just how it is...!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views from the room are the best, the room is comfortable and they prepared the crib for our son with no extra charge. Great staff
Cons: the only thing was that they offer free wifi but we were never able to make it work on our devices. We tried at different locations and never worked
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 6 nights and found this to be a great choice outside the hussle, noise and light pollution of the town. A very safe 20 minute walk is all it takes to be in the centre for meals and drinks. Katia was an amazing hostess and gave us great ideas for things to do based on the attitude. Hotel is authentic and rustic with great charmade from the traditional adobe process. Lovely breakfast served daily with fresh produce and eggs cooked to order. The outdoor seating area is lovely for an afternoon rest and watch thr sun go down. Bed was comfortable and room clean with a few small touches to make your stay better. For something less touristy this is the place to stay. Love to come back again one day.
Cons: Nothing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent staff, simple but nice breakfast. Felt safe. Bed is huge and super comfy, the room temperature was always perfect, warm in the night during those chilly nights. The room is beautiful, the view is great.
Cons: No wifi at all during our 4 day stay, we never got signal in the room, only in the main dining area (and that was quite poor). Lots of dogs barking at night (but this is not the fault of the hotel). One small light in the bathroom, one quite small mirror only. We were always taking the car to the center as there were no lights in the street. The curtains are not blocking sun in the morning so you always have to wake up early (not good for people with migraines). Expensive for what it offers.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location right on the edge of the village with a view out over the alfalfa to the Andes and gently puffing volcanos. Manuela was an excellent host and we much enjoyed talking to her about ongoing events in Chile. Juan has clearly put an incredible amount of thought into the design of the lodge. The welcoming sitting-room and wide veranda to sit sipping your morning coffee or evening glass of Pisco were a bonus. It was great to have bicycles to make the short journey into the centre of the village and the view from our room of the stars at night and the sun rising in the morning was extraordinary.
Cons: We had to swat quite a few flies in the bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, comfortable spacious rooms with beautiful volcano views (rooms are more like your own adobe hut). The comfy beds are a welcome end to a long day of touring the area. The staff is also super sweet and friendly and made great tour recommendations. Planeta has an off the beaten path feel but still very close to the main street of SPdA, Caracoles. My husband and I walked back and forth from town all hours of the day and always felt safe, you don’t need a car to stay here - the walk to town is only 15 mins. Also, if you’re doing morning tours, the buses will pick you up at the property. We loved it and would stay again!
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great room, tasty breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, amazing views
Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa - San Pedro de Atacama - Building
4
9.3 Excellent (160 reviews)
S$ 1,831+
Overview Reviews
The luxurious Alto Atacama is blessed with a most spectacular and private location, tucked away in a valley of serene beauty, in the shadow of the Pukar de Quitor ruins and with the San Pedro River winding its way discreetly alongside. The perfect base for exploring the desert, cultural encounters, or simply absorbing the breathtaking landscape.Guests can choose from a unique range of cultural and active excursions, or perhaps pamper themselves in our magnificent pool and spa area. Our Chef combines classic Mediterranean and Chilean recipes with a dash of native flavor to create an original range of culinary delights. The Atacama Desert is a land of unique diversity. It is an eerie lunar landscape in places, cool, lush river canyons in others. In some parts rain has not touched this parched land for the past three hundred years while summer can bring rainstorms in the surrounding mountains. It can be vast empty stretches of rock, salt, and sand, and an explosion of life at the same time. Alto Atacamas 32 rooms are spacious, comfortable, and conducive to a good nights sleep after an action-packed day. The decoration is rustic yet elegant, with local crafts adding warmth and character. Each room has a private terrace; the perfect spot to absorb the colors and silence of the valley. Our superb outdoor pool area includes six private and individual pools, a whirlpool bath, and a bar. Alto Atacama is a stunning work of architecture. Its seamless incorporation into the valley was achieved thanks to the architects recognition that set against a backdrop of such unique topography, breathtaking natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage, a building must be humble and pay homage to its surroundings. Atacama is blessed with the worlds clearest skies, and Alto Atacamas unique location away from the hustle and bustle and bright lights of the village of San Pedro means there is zero light pollution, providing the most incredible setting for an evenings stargazing. We invite you to come and experience one of the most pristine and fascinating places on Earth.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing, all very friendly, helpful and attentive. The included tours are really great, with excellent guides and very exclusive, with few people. The facilities of the hotel are very good, with a pleasent atmosphere. It was a great experience and I recommend for sure.
Cons: The gastronomy could be better: The breakfast is not bad at all, but is not as great as I would expect and the menu of the restaurant is not very diversified.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the pools are really good, the restaurant is fine, there are many areas for relaxing and enjoying the stay and it's all decorated with such good taste. But, mostly, I've never seen a better staff in a hotel. Some of the best people I've ever met work at Alto Atacama. Truly. I wish I could mention the name of everyone here, but I'd certainly forget somebody, so it wouldn't be fair. You're the best. The guides were brilliant (gracias, David, Esteban, Michael, Fernandinho, Dayane and Arturo). They were fun, nice, caring and really knowledgeable. More than seeing those amazing out-of-this-world landscapes, each excursion was like a lesson in botany, geology, history, biology, astronomy, local culture and general science. It's really impressive how much information the guides have. If you pay attention to them, it can make your experience in Atacama be even richer. Thanks everyone. I look forward to coming back.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't love about this hotel.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food and service. Friendly staff. Everything included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely stay at Alto. The hotel is stunning. Very comfortable and brilliantly located right in the heart of the desert. The excursions were great and our guides fantastic. We were amazed at how varied the landscape is and how much there is to see and do. Very friendly staff too. Would hugely recommend. A very memorable stay.
Cons: The food in the restaurant is good but the choices don't change. Got a bit boring eating the same food.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff , from reception through restaurant , cleaners, guides all very helpful and attentive. Could not have been better. Nothing was too much trouble and the manager spoke to us all daily to ensure all was well. The trips out were varied and fascinating. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave us insight into the local areas. The hotel went to great length to give you a bespoke experience, even if you were the only person on a trip. The food was excellent. Healthy and delicious. You could ask for more whenever you wanted. The rooms are spacious and well designed and totally sound proofed, and you have your own private terrace. The whole hotel is beautifully arranged and is an oasis in this dry valley. It’s not cheap but it’s clear that huge efforts have gone in to ensure an excellent experience for guests .
Cons: Possibly need to update air conditioning in bedroom.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique property with a unique location. Staff members are friendlier more helpful than they communicated, i.e. they never say "yes" to any of your requests, though they did try to accommodate and most of the arrangements turned out good.

Pros: Tasteful lovely place. Wide comfortable room. Great location and quiet (off the main road). Nice and helpful staff. I absolutely recommend.
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, wonderful surroundings with lamas and horses directly at the hotel
Cons: Very thin walls, you could hear your neighbors
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really well decorated, nice atmosphere, really nice staff, good breakfast.
Cons: The shower is the worst in Atacama, really unstaible hot or cold water, could not wash my hair properly. I would say the only bad thing is the shower, everything else is amazing. I would never stay there in winter with cold showers.. never ever.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staffs are helpful and kind .
Cons: The problem with this hotel is its location. It is 10-minute walk from the city center. Don’t underestimate the 10-minute walk; it means the hotel is at the border of everything: water, electricity and cellular reception. The shower system is terrible and power outage is not uncommon. In our room, the cellular signal is extremely weak as well.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well organised activities with care taken regarding the age of participants.
Cons: Wine could have been better
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff and guides are very friendly. Lunch and dinner were great.
Cons: Coffee is terrible, the beans must be 3 years old. Serving Instant coffee early morning is not acceptable at these prices, especially not in small sachets, terrible for the environment. Wines that were included in the price were very cheap, wine list could be greatly improved. Breakfast is very average.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, awesome staff (cleaning, guides, restaurant, bar). They have many expedition, all types.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The male receptionist was extremely helpful! We had separate issues with lost baggage and difficult local tour operators, and the receptionist went above and beyond to ensure everything worked out fine. Could not have asked for a more helpful staff, they made what could have been a very difficult few days very enjoyable and memorable for all the good reasons
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. Also a very nice breakfast! If you had coffee not from powder, it would be perfecto!
7.0 Good
Pros: The hostel made us lunch packets each time we had a early morning tour which was great. The hammock in the common area is also great and the rooms were cleaned Daily and properly.
Cons: The privates didn’t really have much space to place your backpack.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing they go above and beyond to help you the better they can. The hostel is out of the mess in down town but is still in the centre! Really close by to the bus station and you manage to get to the center in 7’ walk. The rooms are really clean and the breakfast is very good, and if you going on an early tour they make sure you have a breakfast to take away with you. They also provide water service which you will notice it is essential in this hot place. I would definitely go back!
Cons: Nothing wrong with the property!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast we have had in south america so far, the pancakes/eggs made to order was such a treat and made this hostel unique. The quality of the mattresses and pillows were great, we slept so well too. We spent loads of time chilling in the hostel becausr it has such a relaxed, friendly vibe. Caeser and the rest of the staff were a delight - thank you so much for helping me call the transfer company to track down my tablet - i managed to find it in the end WOOHOO! Your customer service was amazing and was so appreciated. Thanks again! From hannah and chloe
Cons: We loved absokute everything!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Well design boutique hotel. The breakfast restaurant and common area is open, spacious and well-lit. Our room was comfortable and clean. After we checked out of the hotel, they provided a free shower before getting on the plane at 4PM.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything very clean, reception is capable and helpful, pool nice and refreshing. Breakfast is good. Hotel not too far away from town, but quiet neighborhood
Cons: Rooms might need a little more storage space, service staff took very long to clean the room (at least, she did an excellent job)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property was perfect and the staff very friendly. Location was ok, 5-8 minutes from the Main Street in San Pedro de Atacama.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Free water/ coffee/ tea available 24 hours.
Cons: Breakfast did not start until 7.00 am would have preferred earlier. Complimentary bottled water was provided each day, would have preferred water fountain to refill water bottles to reduce use of single use plastic.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owners were extremely welcoming and caring. Definitely recommend!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good bed
Cons: Expensive hotel, small rooms, small window, no view. Noisy doors, 4 rooms in one hall. Cleaning woman was busy next door with music playing loud on telephone. Staff acted politely, breakfast coffee was undrinkable, espresso was complementary, paid, delivered without a smile. Waitress came at our door for a signature for an order of a beer and a wine earlier that day, at 22.45h. That is stupid. We had dinner 3 nights, stayed 4 nights. Had to pay at arrival, paid cash, did not get a receipt, asked for one later, were amazed, we could trust them. Show it then! Hospitality means putting the guest in the first place.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and lay out. The staff were very helpful and pleasant the room was well cleaned every day.
Cons: The room had no mirror, no full length hanging space and was a little noisy when people closed doors or talked in the hallways.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good communication in both English and Spanish. Great location 3 min from the bus station and city center. Comfortable big beds. Cleaning every day. Good breakfast. Very secure. Opportunity to pay by credit card. Big rooms. Good water pressure in the shower which is important for the desert. All the tips and information. The family very nice
Cons: No conditioner or a fan, in the night it is ok, but can be hot during the day.. internet sometimes didn’t work.. there were no electricity the whole last night, but of course this is not the hotels fault. Small thing but very annoying: it is very hard to flush the toilet ( and no, I didn’t put paper in it..)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was amazing. We booked an early transport to the airport with him and without asking for it he brought a boxed breakfast for the next day. The rooms are very spacious and clean and the bathroom and hot shower was a blast after a 4 day Uyuni trip. Highly recommend this place for staying in San Pedro it is also super close to the Main Street where all the restaurants are located.
Cons: The hotels seems to be fairly new and the outside common space needs a little bit of work to turn even this in an oasis.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great - location, the staff, breakfast. It was close to the main street with all the tours, restaurants, pubs & shopping. The hosts were super helpful and lovely.
Cons: nothing really.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice size room with outdoor space to sit in the shade and enjoy the fresh air
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very beautiful with desert vegetation and a stream pass through the rooms, in the early morning birds sings, make us feel relax and good about been in the middle of the desert but in the same way so close to nature. The room is bigger than the most rooms in San Pedro and very clean, also the bathroom. Also the staff very friendly.
Cons: Perhaps we missed air conditioned in the room, the desert could be cold in the winter but in the summer the temperature is very high. And what we observe is that the walls absorbs all the heat and at night the room stay warm.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good breakfast buffet; the room is very tidy, cleaned everyday, towels changed every two days; location is great, 5 minutes walk to Caracoles street, where you find all the tour agencies, shops, restaurants, etc; staff very helpful and friendly; big room, very quiet at night, we woke up with the birds in the backdoor. It worths the money!!! We're leaving to Bolivia and will stay in Quechua again when we're back. You should do the same.
Cons: In the summer, would be good to have a fan for the hot afternoon, when you're resting from the morning tours.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely staff
Cons: Room was rather hot and the fan provided was quite small

Pros: Great staff who were really helpful and quite comprehensive breakfast.
Cons: The mattresses sagged a lot so were quite uncomfortable. It was also quite expensive, but that is also true for a lot of accommodation in San Pedro.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my stay here. Staff are SUPER helpful in recommending things, booking tours, etc. Didn’t get a chance to have breakfast because I went on tours that left early, but they packed a snack for me to take, which was really nice and thoughtful.
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was pretty good. Lot of options.
Cons: A little far from center compared to other hostels. Actually it’s not far but the 1 km walk feels longer in summer sun and heat!!!

Pros: Super friendly staff, lovely breakfast, cosy & comfortable room with everything we needed, great kitchen & courtyard to dine in. It was fantastic ! We extended 2 nights!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great vibe. Owner was really friendly, he doesn't speak English but was patient and helpful. Breakfast was good. Good cleanliness, cleaners came in every day. Not too far to walk to centre of town. Fan in room helped with the heat.
Cons: Door didnt fit into frame properly - still locked though. No curtains on frosted window so was quite light in the room all night. No soundproofing, could hear all neighbours movements. Patchy wifi.
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly, accommodation quite new and not run down, nice bathrooms, fast WiFi
Cons: My room (single) was inbetween the kitchen and the common area, which means it was really loud in the evening and in the night. When everybody finally stopped eating and socialising and went to bed, there was a neighbour blasting music really loud until 5-6am (Not the hostal's fault though, but still I want to mention it). Early in the morning there was loud construction noise which woke me up, seems like they are still working on the Hostal. When the noise from the construction work stopped, there was the toddler of the family who runs the place playing and screaming in front of my door. So i didnt really get a quiet minute in that place. Sad, because the place has potential.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff! My private room was perfect for what I needed! It’s a very short walk to the town centre! I’d highly recommend this hostel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and cosy place, the rooms were grouped around a large open courtyard with terrace, so there was nice place to chill out. Shared bathroom large and very clean. Breakfast was great, the owners even took care making lunch packets when you were doing tours. Cheers and thanks a lot to the lovely people there, really nice and helping with any questions one might have. Would definitely go there again!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are delightful. They helped organise good tours and packed breakfast for us when the tours started too early to eat at the hostel. It's only a 10min walk to the main street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean! Hot water comes immediately. Host prepares breakfast eggs specifically when you come to breakfast. Absolutely lovely staff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt welcome and looked after from the first minute to the last of our stay. Language boundaries were overcome by the hosts` willingness to communicate. We loved the breakfasts.
Cons: We found the room a little tight for the 4 of us, at times but hey, you do not go to Atacama to spend the time in the room.

Pros: great room, tasty breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, amazing views
Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa - San Pedro de Atacama - Building

9.3 Excellent (160 reviews)

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely swimmingpool, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and great breakfast options.
6.0 Good
Pros: That we had access to a kitchen and a pool.
Cons: I didn’t like that we waited for an hour out the front of the property to check in and didn’t get a response. It was extremely hot and we stood outside for far too long to check in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hostel, it’s really REALLY CLEAN, there is a kitchen you can use. Excellent breakfast, comfortable bed. No one speaks English, however we had no problem communicating using google translate. It’s a little bit away from the center, for us it works perfect. Would highly recommend for the families with kids and people who are not-looking-to-party-all-night-long.
Cons: Nothing

You can use the fridge, there is cold drinking water for the guests. Very good breakfast. Nice helpfull staff. It is just a wonderful place!
Cons: Barking dogs on the street at night, but the hostel can't help that. It is in a relatively quiet suburb.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Water dispenser in reception area.
Cons: Parking area (gravel) not suitable for motorcycles.

Pros: Very decent value for money for a hotel in this category. Not super luxurious like the prosperities around but therefore way more affordable and still upper tier and 5*. Restaurant has a very large menu which we liked for a longer stay. Spa treatments are priced fairly.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good location, only short walk to town. Clean bathrooms. Big kitchen with all the facilities we needed. Nice open garden area.
Cons: Our room was facing the sun and so at night the walls were literally radiating heat, making the room incredibly hot, even with the window wide open! With no fan and mosquitoes around, it made it pretty difficult to sleep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room is nice, bathroom is big
Cons: WiFi is not too fast
6.7 Good
Pros: The kitchen/dining area was good for self-catering. My room was a good size and the bathroom was quite adequate. There were tables and chairs in a number of areas outside, including the upstairs outdoors seating area which did have a ‘mirador’ of the mountains - lovely in the evening and it would be great for a group. I was given a map and directions on how to get to the town centre and bus terminal. It was very easy to wash and dry clothes! It seemed expensive but I think prices are generally high in San Pedro.
Cons: It was a 10 to 15 minute hot and dusty walk to the centre if you needed to go in the middle of the day. There was no air conditioning or fans in my room which became very hot during the day. It was cool at night. The view from my window was the secure parking area - with a dog which tended to bark at night. When I arrived the man at reception was friendly but did not speak English - a problem if you are reading this and don’t speak Spanish. There was not much tourist information offered but this is not a problem as there are dozens of tour agencies in Calle Caracoles where they speak multiple languages.
6.3 Good
Pros: The bathroom was clean.
Cons: The room was too noisy, the window of our room opened only to the lobby and we could listen everything from the bathroom. Additionally, the customer service could be better.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very clean
Cons: Receptionist does not speak English and the map they provided was inaccurate.
7.5 Good
Pros: + Nice chill vibe with lovely courtyard + Nice staff +/- It is not to expensive for atacama, but still very expensive when you come from Bolivia
Cons: - It is a bit out of town, but not to far. You can easily walk - kitchen isnt too big but has the essentials and is clean!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Away from central noisy busy area. Also if needed. A shared kitchen.
Cons: Very noisy as on main road and also the room was right on a dusty side road. Loud Barking dogs all night. They ask for cash payment only..but then did not have change to give us so needed to go next door for change.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bathrooms were really clean and the shower was really hot and spacious. The room was also very clean and the beds were comfortable. The shared kitchen was well equipped and was nice to be able to use. The WiFi was pretty good overall, but there were a few times that it dropped. Check-in was also very easy.
Cons: They asked us the night before when we were going to check out, but we were unable to find someone when we had to leave for a bus. There was also a man who was passed out on the toilet in the women's bathroom in the morning with his pants down and five stray dogs with him. He wasn't a guest there either as he finally woke up and left the property.
