9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel feels new. Modern architecture. Spacious room. We had a fjord view. Breakfast was outstanding. The restaurant on the 9th floor has a great chef.
Cons: Bathroom is poorly designed, everything gets wet when you take a shower. Room was too hot and the temperature could not adequately be adjusted. Parking in the public garage below the hotel is expensive (about 28 Euros per day)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to cruise docking. And also a short walk to town centre. Adjacent rooms for family down a quiet corridor
Cons: Breakfast started at 8am. 7am would have been better to give more option. Tried to call the hotel but too many automated options and finally nobody answered
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice and modern. Goon connection to the local gym and pool. Nice breakfast
Cons: We booked a room for four people in my family. This was also recoded in the booking. We arrived and their was only a double bed and a fold away. We advised and showed the booking for 4 people and they squeezed an extra bed into the room resulting in no space to move around the beds at all. If you book and they accept a family room for four this is not acceptable
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the sea view, depending on the hotel room. Some people from the staff were nice and helpful, others not.
Cons: Bath tube was broken and couldn’t be fixed. No goodies or excuse was offered. The floor was dirty and wasn’t properly vacuum cleaned. My baby found splinters of glass in front of my room. :(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a perfect hotel. The beds were more than comfortable and we loved the breakfast!
Thon Hotel Nidaros - Trondheim - Building
2

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic! Beautifully presented interior and rooms. The breakfast was incredible. Fantastic spread and the a complimentary buffet at night. Free coffee and tea facilities. Fantastic value. The staff were lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast and dinner. Nice and quiet place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good located, in the city center and next to the central station. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, although very crowded at all times. The staff is very friendly and helpful and I liked the complementary tea, coffee and fruit corner in the lobby. A plus is also the complementary light dinner. Size of room and bathroom was great.
Cons: I was disappointed as my room (top floor) had only a small window high up, I was only able to look out when standing on the bed... Also it was very noisy on Friday and Saturday night, people where out on the street up till min. 2am shouting and laughing, it was very hard to sleep. On Sunday there were finally no people outside making noise but the snow truck... So overall I did not sleep very well.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, clean, well located hotel in Trondheim with a marvelous buffet breakfast. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station.
Cons: Thon Gildevangen is a very nice hotel, but be sure you don't get a room facing Karl Johan Gate. There are 2 bars and a Diskoteque across from the hotel and the noise, music and loud talk, is continuous to 3 AM - except on a Sunday night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent inclusive dinner matched by extensive breakfast buffet both served by charming and efficient staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fitness, luxury room l, fantastic breakfast, location is excellent close to the city centre
Scandic Nidelven - Trondheim - Building
3
8.7 Excellent (3,724 reviews)
S$ 242+
Overview Reviews
Take some time to enjoy “The Best Hotel Breakfast in Norway”. The popular shopping centre Solsiden, and attractions such as Nidaros Cathedral, are all within walking distance. We also offer excellent conference facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, breakfast, breakfast! Location. Rooms are small compared to North America but very efficient. Extremely comfortable bed. The newly renovated gym is awesome. It has windows on the river and isn’t an after thought hidden in the basement.
Cons: I wish there was a sauna.
4.5 Okay
Pros: -Corner room with "river view" -Room had electricity and lights -Expansive breakfast buffet -"Toiletries provided" -Ice machine on the same floor as room (stretchjfor positives here)
Cons: -The "river view" would have been better if there had been windows in the room. It was difficult to see through the wall that faced the river. -No power outlets in room. This hotel assumes its customers do not carry cell phones and tablets that need recharging. -It is challenging to hold a plate and eat breakfast while standing. The room was overcrowded and there were no seats available. -The hand soap, shower gel and shampoo dispensers all appeared to contain the same liquid with a different color. No bars of soap. Bring your own soap and shampoo for the shower. -No container for the ice cubes. Had to use the single wine glass in the room to hold the ice. -No iron in the room; seems unlikely that travelers would pack their clothes in a suitcase... -Modern business hotel? Falls far short of the mark.
7.0 Good
Pros: Vegan food and the booking app that i never used bedre (useful)
Cons: Could hear snores through the wall 3am at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most fabulous breakfast that caters for vegetarians which doesn’t usually happen in Norway!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, and it’s true what they say about the breakfast buffet. The staff was helpful and had a casual style which I liked a lot.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast in town, which is also why I chose this hotel. The breakfast has also been updated since my last visit - good job. Good location and friendly staff.
Cons: The bedside lamp in our room was faulty, and there wasn't much additional light, but for one night we didn't really care to much. Also it's hard to find parking close by.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of choice. The room was comfortable.
Cons: The beds were on castors and we had to lock them to stop moving around the floor. No tea of coffee in rooms but by end of my stay I worked out that there was free tea and coffee and water for guests on ground floor. Wish the receptionist had advised this when booking in as these facilities are not always obvious.

Cons: Parking told they had car parking under the hotel. But only on a first come first served bases. When I asked the reception desk she said you can park over the bridge. What she failed to mention there was the cheapest parking over the road in a multi story carpark less than 200 mtrs from the hotel Kr180 for 24 hrs. lucky I asked the local Avis rental guy who pointed it out. Pros: Good value considering the breakfast and evening buffets. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient location - close to everything yet quiet.
Cons: Our room faced the inner courtyard and groups sitting there were quite noisy during the day and in the evening. Cons: Well since i booked the single room, the room was quite small.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great!! All of the staff we came in contact with were fabulous. The breakfast was also very good.
Cons: The ventilation was poor. The hallways smelled like the kitchen. After eating in the dining room our hair and clothing smelled like a diner’s kitchen. The decor is very dated.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was centrally located with a reasonable breakfast. Beds were very comfortable and clean.
Cons: Although it looked similar to a Thon Hotel we stayed in at Oslo, it was more basic with a tiny bathroom and lacked the overall stylish finish of the Oslo hotel (even though both are three star hotels from the same company).

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: I was refused to check in because I wanted to pay cash. They’re breaking norwegian banking law by not accepting cash payments. I told the receptonist so respectfully, but she was very emotional about her boss which would get mad if she asked him anything. She escalated fast and flew off the handles.. She refused to listen to anything being said, talked non-stop and made up her own story about how all the guests present in the lobby were conspiring against her personally. She then called the cops which showed up confused because nothing happened. Ridiculous!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I had weird reservations and asked a stuff there if she can modify them a little bit. I didn’t ask for it in advance but she made everything fine and gave me a comfortable room.

Cons: the desk was not clean.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for my needs - i arrived late at night and had to leave early in the morning and the hotel is literally next to the Trondheim central station. The breakfast was nothing special - cheese, toast, marmelade, very thinned orange juice and already dried ham. But i was aware of that due to the reviews. The bathroom was not so clean but i guess it was because of other travellers. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
Cons: The common areas were a bit dirty.

Pros: Very quiet. Clean and comfy great for getting the train next morning.
Cons: Breakfast... just in a bag on the door and didnt realise before I booked!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location (literally a minute away from the train and bus stations, 10 minutes max to the ferry pier) - very handy under the frequent rain - yet very silent! No train or city noises. Comfy beds, very clean premises. Helpful staff if needed.
Cons: Maybe missing some storing space (we were 3 girls in the 5-people dorm and we were struggling to hang our jackets, towels...) - this is especially valid in winter. Missed a microwave or a kettle as something warm in winter would be appreciated :-)

7.5 Good
Pros: Room order, fresh and delicious food for breakfast.
Cons: We booked 2 rooms for 4 people, and they checked in 2 rooms for 2 people, then had problems with breakfast, did not let us have breakfast, needed clarification and proved that we bought for 4 people.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location of the hotel was fab - very close to both Bakklandet and the city centre! Breakfast was very extensive and tasty. Room was well-cleaned and comfortable.
Cons: Room looked prettier in the picture, but it was still very decent!
1.0 Poor
Cons: Disappointed. Room was dirty, with dust everywhere and not recently cleaned for sure. Also in a discreet state of degradation. At 3am during the night, it started getting really cold as the temperature in the room was about 15 degrees, and air coming in from the ventilation. The bed was quite uncomfortable. The room was supposed to have a "fjord view" - paid an extra for that, but instead we had a nice view... On the building in front of us. First and last time staying at a Radisson.
5.4 Okay
Pros: I liked the location, staff was very friendly and responsive.
Cons: Otherwise everything else was not as good as in description. Very awful rooms. It was cold in our room where we were staying, and it was impossible to turn up the heat.. we asked for one whole bed, but instead we got just 2 single beds moved together.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was large, it was clean and great facilities. It's in the city centre, close to public transportation, shops and entertainment. Great staff.
Cons: The temperature in my room was quite high and not possible to regulate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a perfect located hotel totally value for the money. You can walk anywhere from this hotel without, everything is really close. I recommend to book a room with breakfast, you enjoy it for sure :)

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location next to train station
Cons: Shower head leaked and basin plug would not lift to drain
8.0 Excellent
Pros: OK
Cons: the desk was not clean.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for my needs - i arrived late at night and had to leave early in the morning and the hotel is literally next to the Trondheim central station. The breakfast was nothing special - cheese, toast, marmelade, very thinned orange juice and already dried ham. But i was aware of that due to the reviews. The bathroom was not so clean but i guess it was because of other travellers. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
Cons: The common areas were a bit dirty.
