7.0 Good
Pros: Very well located next to the old port. Views are great, bed is comfortable, staff is professional. Everything works fairly well.
Cons: The internet didn't work well, and sometimes it just didn't work at all. The decor is rather simple. The shower head just wouldn't stay in place and would fall all the time due to poor design. The view is nice, but the sun heats up the room so much.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location and very nice view of the Vieux Port and Notre Dame de la Garde.
Cons: Hotel needs to be renovated. Not compatible with a 4 stars.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, view from the room, room design...i liked everything except for bed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: this hotel is perfectly located on the vieux port. the view is amazing from the balcony. a lot of restaurants near by and the Mucem and the panier are walking distance. 60euros from the airport to the hotel by taxi.
Cons: the room is standard for a 4 stars hotel. No private parking, there is one near by and you have to pay for it.

Pros: Lovely view great location stylish comfortable friendly helpful staff

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an outstanding boutique hotel. The decorations are beautiful and staff is super attentive. The hotel is well situated in a very safe area. Is close to everything you want to see in the city. I want to recognize Maxim. He helps you with anything you need and is very knowledgeable. The hotel is the work 2 French architects who’s names start with c this C2
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was an absolute dream to visit during our one night stay en route to the French Riviera. The building is an architectural marvel and carries all the charm you could ever expect from a boutique property in France. The amenities, staff, and room alike lived up to the highest standards and left us in complete admiration. Albeit the city itself likely won’t ever make it on our top list of recommendations to any future travellers, this property was spectacular and definitely a gem to be commended.
Cons: We did have drainage issue in the shower, leaving it to overflow rather quickly, and the wifi signal was extremely weak within the room itself. However, these were minor issues and only mentioned to assist with management in rectifying the issues for other guests and don’t reflect our image of the property in the slightest.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great spa.
Cons: Bar was understocked and very quiet, sometimes not even staffed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable. Nice spa. Super calm.
Cons: The bar was supposed to close at midnight and last order was at 11:30 pm. We arrived at 11:28 pm and everything was already close.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the bustle and restaurants and shopping of Vieux Port but in a quiet and secluded street. It has a spa which is great for relaxing, fabulous breakfast, great staff and good quality snacking if you are not up to going out for dinner. It’s an old characterful building with understated modern rooms.
Cons: There are no views from the hotel and I didn’t find a lounge but there is an outside patio which is great in the spring and summer and the rest of this very comfortable and stylish hotel in a vibrant city makes up for it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely attentive staff who speak English fluently and provide excellent check-in and room service, as well as concierge services. The room was outstanding, with the extra large and extremely comfortable bed taking center stage. Excellent wifi, amazing toiletries, great bathroom. Very delicious chocolates greeted us in the room as well. The breakfast was outstanding. WORTH IT BY FAR! Ask for as many fresh juices as you like. The spa, while not comparable to a paid spa, was still very good for the limited space. We didn’t have enough time to enjoy it all unfortunately. The location is at the halfway point between the old port and the cathedral and right near the courthouse. Great location overall.
Cons: Honestly, nothing. An amazing property. If we come back, we would choose this hotel again in an instant.
Overview Reviews
The epitome of luxury, this grand hotel occupies a striking building adjacent to Marseille’s historic Panier district. You can enjoy a pastis aperitif on the terrace with views of Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, before dining on Mediterranean dishes in the Michelin-starred Alcyone restaurant. Work out in the fitness room, swim in the indoor pool, or unwind with a treatment in the chic SPA by Clarins. Five minutes’ walk away, boats line the quay of the Vieux-Port, in the heart of the city.
7.5 Good
Pros: Sorrounding, view, the harbor and Basilique- Notre-Dame. Was magnificent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff in the bar, reception, brasserie and housekeeping were all wonderful
Cons: The bed was too hard
7.0 Good
Pros: The interior of the room was lovely.
Cons: I was put in a room with a view to the back alley where people were drunkenly screaming off and on all night. I realize that my rate for the room was excellent for this hotel but the location of the room was an abomination.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Locación, serviceall
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was immaculate and very well equiped. The staff were very pleasent and helpful and always available. The hotel was out of my normal pay range. But was worth every penny (cent).
Cons: I didn't feel safe after dark away from the hotel. I always felt there was a potential for trouble, but actually saw any.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The best tub and shower I ha e encountered in a long tome
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location!
Cons: Room temp. control and Bath/Shower Temp. very low. Almost like outside pool temp.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Hotel service was outstanding. We had a traveling delema and hotel took care of it immediately.
Cons: Food in restaurant very expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful building in a superb location. Good facilities, clean, airy and comfortable.
Cons: When one pays for three people to stay ( two adults, one child) it behoves the hotel to provide facilities such as towels, cups, glasses etc for three without having to ask. In addition, the WiFi did not work throughout our two day-day stay. Eventually told of an alternative conference / meeting WiFi and password, which still didn’t work in our room meaning the only alternative was to work in the lobby. Finally, noisy staff chatting and moving furniture around in the early hours of the morning below our room are not conducive to a good night’s sleep!

Pros: Beautiful Room Wonderful view Great staff
Cons: Restaurant dinner (9 course) was over priced and pretentious
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from my room was spectacular! Actually I had choices between 2 rooms, we pick the 2nd room because the 1st room was missing the safe's key
Cons: The last 2 turns getting to the hotel was super tight! I scraped my passenger's side rear view mirror leaving the hotel. Then again, it could be that I'm not that good of a driver
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location by the sea, excellent service and homey atmosphere!
Cons: What’s not to like!
7.5 Good
Pros: One of the nicest hotel rooms ever, anywhere. The view & the crashing waves. 100% restorative!

Cons: I had hoped, and specifically asked, for one of the front rooms I had on my last stay, but despite booking in February and making the request then, and again in a follow-up email, I had a back room.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, the staff was very friendly and helpful, we seemed to be always asking them things regarding local travel bus times ext. as bus timetables were not normal being Christmas but we loved both the hotel and the city of Marseille
Cons: The only small thing was that as the shower was over the bath ( although the bathroom was so big it could have had a big walk in shower as well) there was no grab rails to hold when getting in our out of the tub after the shower!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A truly excellent buffet breakfast. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel’s location at the heart of Old Marseilles. An excellent view of the Old Port. A good selection of toiletries.
Cons: The mattress proved very uncomfortable and in need of replacement.

Pros: Well situated by station. Public parking nearby. Comfortable bed. Kettle in room for morning tea.
Cons: Satellite tv not working. Noisy door banging.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice modern, clean and comfortable hotel (stayed in a deluxe room). Great staff, pleasant, helpful and polite. Good quality breakfast. Location is convenient if you are travelling by train as it is right next to the station, 10-15 mins walk from the old port. Unfortunately I did not have time to visit the spa.
Cons: Not the nicest neighborhood maybe, but I will definitely be visiting again as the location is very convenient transportwise
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The folks at the reception were really helpful and supportive. Excellent job done!!
Cons: Lights could have been more in the room and balcony ..
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The personnel was great, extremely helpful and nice. The overall look of the hotel it`s modern and cozy. It`s clean, the AC works perfect, the bed is perfect, the bathroom excellent ... and you will get bath robes too. It`s located just in front of the train station ... that will help you get to the airport in least then an hour ... all depends on traffic. The location surroundings are safe... keep in kind that central train station areas are one of the least safe places in a big city... here didn`t looked dangerous ... You are very close to city center, you will have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Port.
Cons: It lacks a mini fridge in the room...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super friendly and helpful Room is extremely clean and modern
Cons: It’s perfect
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice, comfortable, quiet and very clean, as a bonus with a little balcony with a nice view to the roofs of Marseille. The breakfast was lovely. Not necesserily all the stuff you are used to have in bigger hotels (vegetables etc.) but everything with high quality. You could also order something special from the kitchen. The croissants and ham were so tasty, and the orange juice had even seen some oranges :D It was really lovely. The fitness room was small, but proper enough to be able to work out. You could reach the harbour in 10-15 walk. Wifi worked properly. Great value for money!
Cons: The surrounding near the train station was a little bit uncomfortable for a blond woman traveling alone. I also missed a kettle to make tee in the room.

Pros: Attitude of the staff, spotless
Cons: Housekeeping did not change the bedsheets despite asking her
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: The room was cold no heating. When we complained they flatly lied that it was on. Freezing all night! Room service promised all day, no chance not until after 19:30 When finally arrived the warm dish was cold, scallops nearly frozen as well as the risotto. The shower perk was broken. Had to change rooms because TV didn’t work. Ordered special room service for breakfast with pressed orange juice, espresso with hot milk on the side. The orange juice was from can, scrambled eggs nowhere to be seen, the bread was stale, no hot milk. When asked about the orange juice we were told that they were out of it. Finally after pushing a bit they suddenly had it.The hot milk came when the coffe was already cold.

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was really good. Also the location of the Hotel was quite close to the city center and everything was reachable by foot. The bed was also great.
Cons: The Hotel is modernized but still can shake off some of its heritage. The building in which the hotel is located is quite uglly. Also the parking lot seems not to be that great. In the room itself, the bathroom was modernized but not in a convincing manner.
7.0 Good
Pros: The position is good, very close to the old port.
Cons: The rooms were not properly cleaned. We had a piece of chewing gum on the bathroom floor that I had to clean myself eventually. The personnel never managed to leave 2 large towels and 2 small ones. We always had to ask for extras. There were 2 elevators out of which one was almost always broken

Pros: Really helpful staff. Minutes walk to the old port. Close to a supermarket and shopping mall.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good location near the train station and the city centre. Good size of the apartment with a nice big balcony and big bathroom. Very good value for our money. Nicely refurbished.
Cons: The plates, forks, knives, pans etc in the kitchen were not very clean at all, we had to clean everything before using them. There was no tablet for the dishwasher in the apartment so I guess other guests haven't bothered cleaning things very well. We got a dishwasher tablet when asking in the reception. There was a problem with the ventilation and the apartment smelled of cigarette smoke regularly. A kitchen fan would have been helpful when cooking.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean and comfortable great location as well as the restaurants around.
Cons: Staff weren’t welcoming/ helpful
7.9 Good
Pros: Quite close to the center . Valuable for the money .
Cons: Surrounding area looks like a small ghetto , but I think this is Marseille over all .

Ideal for your business or leisure trips, with exceptional location in the heart of Marseille; subway and buses nearby, access to airport by train or bus from train station and, 100m from the hotel, Gambetta paid public parking.
6.3 Good
Pros: Large bathroom, pretty clean.
Cons: No fan, bad internet connection, looks pretty old
7.1 Good
Pros: Great staff. Very friendly. Ok value for money.
Cons: It’s was old and closed down for 3 months the day we checked out - our last morning was not very pleasant as staff were moving furniture quite early. Wishing them all the best with renovations - they are needed.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing actually
Cons: Beds, room, breakfast, warm drinks in the room, air conditioning
7.5 Good
Pros: Very basic room. Only hand soap - no little additional things like you get in some hotels. No hair dryer.
Cons: TV remote only increased channel - wouldn't go down - apparently some buttons not working.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location but very basic
Cons: Tiny room
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Great room was French doors for air thank heavens because AC was turned hotter then the temperature outside
Cons: Unable to control AC temperature set at 25 or sound of television which was so low you cannot hear it in the bed. The man at the front desk was grumpy and a sour puss and pretended that he cannot understand you. Yelled about giving a plastic cup for water cooler. Needs a different job away from people.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Break fast very good, especially the fresh fruit. Bed very comfy and nice bathroom
Cons: Only problem wad there was a lot of noise from adjoining room and one above. Also we were unable to charge phone in bedroom. However the friendly receptionists helped out
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice old building. We were wrongly informed about the breakfast time, so we have missed it. However we were still allowed to use from the buffet whatever we wished for. If you arrive by train, the amazing train station is just 2 minutes walk.
Cons: The building is really outdated and requires big renovation. In the hall the water was dripping from the ceiling, so the buckets where left on the floor. The dining area is charming, but again someone just need to clean it and refresh it.
