The epitome of luxury, this grand hotel occupies a striking building adjacent to Marseille’s historic Panier district. Work out in the fitness room, swim in the indoor pool, or unwind with a treatment in the chic SPA by Clarins. Five minutes’ walk away, boats line the quay of the Vieux-Port, in the heart of the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Locación, serviceall
6.0 Good
Cons: staff at breakfast was not pleasant, just the opposite. Reception staff at time of check in (19h), as not efficient
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Hotel service was outstanding. We had a traveling delema and hotel took care of it immediately.
Cons: Food in restaurant very expensive
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was the 3th time we stayed in this hotel. Always a pleasure. A real 5 star place. Well kept. Perfect location. Friendly people. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: The security could be improved. We stayed there for 4 days and at several occasions we could walk into the hotel without anybody seeing us, so anybody else could do this as well. We found that quite scary. Such a property should have a security person at the entrance all the time.
4.0 Okay
Cons: Pool was not heated, I've stayed in 5 stars before and 'everything' was very over-priced considering, room took hours to either heat or chill as the system was ineffective. Shower was cold depending on time of day, and the it took 3 elevators (up and down) to travel to the spa/pool. Seems like they initially spent money on the hotel, but have not maintained it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Meet the InterContinental standard
Cons: They charge €30 for adapter which is crazy

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is really good . It’s closer to everything you need. Shopping centre is right across the hotel and only just 5 mins away. Nice staff and they have a restaurant and bar in there . The hotel also looks modern which I like. I would definitely be staying there again when I do come back to Marseille
Cons: I think there should be a Massage service in the hotel because they have indoor and outdoor pool so that would have been great .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was all you need, excellent choice. Location was perfect for me as I was in walking distance of where I was working (Place Joliette).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean very friendly
Cons: A bit expensive in surrounding restaurants and bars
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean is easy to get around. Very good location
Cons: They were just 2 bottles of water in the minibar no other drink they didn’t give bathrobe
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cold breakfast buffet was fantastic with everything and more! This was the upmarket and newest area in Marseille at the sea front and walkable to the old town. It is situated opposite to the ferry terminal. All this area is under a big regeneration, with wonderful shops and eateries surrounding the hotel, the new business area - as all the people around are affluent and stopping there for a working lunch or coming out there for dinner in the evenings with their partners, families or colleagues. It is buzzing and busiest during the day, dinner doesn't really begin until 8.30pm
Cons: The hot water was not available in hand basin or the shower on two occasions over our one night stay. Two lamps were out of order in the bedroom area. Cooked hot breakfast needs to be kept hotter, The restaurant prices are much to high!
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing about this place was worth mentioning
Cons: The staff wasn’t friendly. I paid an extra fee for late checkout nevertheless the card was blocked at least 10 minutes before I was suppose to check out. I was charged 19 EUR for parking twice. Even though I was staying only one night.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was lovely despite the Corona virus crisis at the moment. The hotel wasn’t busy at all and our stay was very peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: I am vegan so I get this issue everywhere I travel/ stay: no interesting options for breakfast except fruits and jams, and Golden Tulip was no exception unfortunately.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: it was better than I expected, big room, clean, fine deco.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great! We do not speak French, and they're English was great and incredibly helpful. Staff gave us a map and instructions on how to get to Notre Dame de la Garde. Bed was very comfy, but we were unsure of the "luxury" pillow that may or may not have required extra purchase (so we didn't touch it haha). Elevator was nice! Unsure about the other complaints from other guests as they elevator was large, clean, well lit, and gave us no problems. The TV was nice and large, we enjoyed the novelty of French TV. We would definitely return!
Cons: 3 negatives: Our closet was weird, and didn't open, so we had a tough time hanging up our coats. There was no fridge or microwave. No iron in the room. We were there during Christmas, so we didn't have the opportunity to try out the restaurant, but I'm sure it was quite nice! The bar was closed one night (due to the holiday) when my partner wanted a drink, but the front desk was very accommodating and got him a drink anyways! It was a bit of a walk to the nearest metro, but max 15 minutes, so quite doable. The location might not be ideal if you want to be in the center of everything, but it's more than manageable if you are able to walk around easily.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was reasonable
Cons: Dirty garage, location
6.0 Good
Pros: It was clean. A good french breakfast. Supermarkets are reachable by a short footwalk.
Cons: The room was smelling bad like smoke from outside, I don't know... it was so hot inside the room, because the temperature was put on 30°C, why?! There was mould at the ceiling. The door was closed and safe but it was clicking every time there was wind coming through, was annoying. Was difficult to communicate in English.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff Perfect location between old port and St.Charlez railway station Good equiped kitchen Cozy and light room
Cons: There were not information in description on booking.com that deposit (85.50 EUR in my case) will be taken before your staying. Deposit was returned right after my check out, but period of crediting funds depends of your bank account. A cutting board lacked at the kitchen
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Spoke great English, my French is appalling outside of ordering food and alcohol..., gave us a map and circled what was good, how far away it was on foot, what was closed ( I was there on March 16th and 17th during the Coronavirus outbreak) and also a few places that should be avoided. All this info was spot on. Room is a lot larger than usual hotel rooms, comes with a kitchen with cooker, microwave, decent sized undercounter fridge and a dishwasher. A bunch of plates and cutlery means you can cook well enough to not break the bank. There is an underground car park right next door to the hotel. The hotel can offer 50% discounted fees that you pay upfront, they give you a card when you check out and you return it to reception when you clear the barriers.
Cons: It's a really good location but you need to know that it is an urban area and has lesser local utilities that you may expect. I stayed in 408 and while the balcony was a nice addition, it overlooks the local backyard of the flats at the rear. At nite it is full of rats, like easily 40+, add to that all tha bags of trash and people drinking and using drugs and it becomes a bit of circus. The trash brings out a lot of flying bugs and mosquitoes too, especially if you have the windows open at nite and leave lights on. I found that out the hard way. Was like Jumanju in there when I got home one evening. Also, a whole buildings worth of flats across the square looks into your room so I would advise keeping the curtains closed at nite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything great ! Great price great location
Cons: Bigger tv please :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, great prices, awesome location !
Cons: Nothing to dislike about this place !
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are very helpful and the place itself feels very secure. it is very easy to walk to all the tourist sights and the metro is on the doorstep.
Cons: it would have been nice to have cleaning products for the bathroom. It is very close to the office where they process applications from asylum seekers. This means that there are large queues of people waiting in the street plus a large number of rough sleepers and rubbish. Initially we found it a bit disconcerting but we never experienced any problems and after a couple of days we were acclimatised. The hotel is in easy reach of the old town and Marseille is a vibrant and interesting city.

7.5 Good
Pros: The fast check in
Cons: The parking has to be in a close by building where the price is really unfair 35 Euros from 10pm to 10am!!!!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It is well situated. If you are going out at night to a show at the silo, it is very convenient n
Cons: It is advertised as a 4 stars yet the comfort of the beds as well as the sheets resemble those if a 2 stars. The breakfast was really basic and the bread not fresh or good. Very airport like. So disappointing after having spent a night at the Radisson on the port which I totally recommend.

Pros: Close to the city close to a mall. Nice view of the ships

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room, good staff most of whom spoke good English. Bar staff excellent. Ten minute walk to Old Port and also near the big shopping complex at the New Port so decent location for going elsewhere but not much in the immediate vicinity.
Cons: Cost of breakfast in hotel meant we just went to a nearby bakery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - on check in I made a mistake with my room card and he immediately came up with me to check that everything was working. Very comfortable room and bed. Excellent TV and cable including many sports channels. Perfect central location for exploring Marseille. Spotlessly clean, cleaning service of the rooms was really excellent.
Cons: No toilet paper in the reception area toilets. No free parking but €27.80 for 2 days with Indigo Parking only a couple of minutes walk away wasn't too bad.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We were checked-in before 15:00. Modern hotel. Excellent breakfast served in the restaurant with big windows, great selection, omlette by order, everything was tasty. Nice street view from the 5th floor. Comfortable bed. Big towels. Good neighbourhood, Monoprix supermarket was nearby, walking distance to St. Charles train station and the sea. Friendly staff.
Cons: Shower was a bit slippery, toilet could be better positioned (not very comfortable if you have long legs).

Pros: Easy walk to Old Port, attentive staff, excellent value
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely staff
Cons: Pricing of food and drinks was extortionate
9.6 Excellent

Pros: Brekfast
Cons: Smell on the corridor area.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice location, 5 min from port and close to almost all places of interests
9.7 Excellent
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location It was very nice, a youthful environment
Cons: Breakfast was a bit poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best hostel in Marseille with the best location and breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super friendly ! special thanks to Cecilia ! the hostel is well located, in 5' you reach the old port. The hostel is divided into 2 separate buildings, each has its own kitchen so you can cook and its chill out area. When I was there I tried 2 types of rooms : the female only room I was in was interesting, with a mezzanine (bathroom/wc downstairs, beds upstairs) so the noise were minimized when you were in bed and didn't wake the others when taking a shower. It felt very private and some beds were normal, not bunk beds. The mixed dorm (4 beds ) didn't feel so private as it's all on the same floor. Also, in general, the rooms would be so much better with an individual lamp by the bed and an electrical socket near each bed. Breakfast was basic (with baguette though !). @ worked well. You can leave your luggage for free in a room before check-in or after check-out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was only there one night. But I was very happy. The receptionist was very attentive and quickly took care of any issues. I hope that the hostel will remain after the crisis
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is very close to the port. All major attractions are nearby. The hosts are warm. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom/toilets are clean. Overall a very nice vibe throughout the place. An ideal hostel accommodation in Marseille!
Cons: N/A
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location was okay. Air conditioning.
Cons: No towels, No lift, no good view from the windows, some of the staff not in a good mood, not very welcoming and nice but I guess this is the french spirit.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and quiet. For a nightly stopover for changing trains this hotel is perfect.
Cons: As by writing everyone was concerned about the corona virus I had the feeling that food as it was presented at breakfast was not within the required higene. Cutting the baguette by oneself and only having a paper to hold it which is used by many people or not at all by some kept me from eating several things. Boiled eggs should not be presented peeled etc. and an open buffet is generally a problem regarding infection.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location perfect for me. Perfect bar staff.
Cons: Attitude of female receptionist.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast in a beautiful bar/restaurant.
Cons: The fact that there is no sauna or hammam
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant view from the room to the Vieux Port, excellent location, comfortable bed and very helpful staff, special thanks for Karis. Breakfast is just perfect, all sort of food, if something was missing or run out, the staff helped immediately.
Cons: The installation of the balcony door in both rooms we had, is terrible weak. There is a gap between the door and the frame, due to missing lock supports in the middle of the frame, the lock closes to noting. Upper lock was worn out due to many clashes with the curtain rod. The bedroom has a continuous air flow and unfortunately noise was coming in too through the gap. I could sleep with a pillow on my head to cover my ears, My wife was not bothered by the noise. I hope it will be fixed otherwise the accommodation is just perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is very good
Cons: The environment is old
4.5 Okay
Pros: Very unfriendly
Cons: Staff was not willing to help or provide info- got yelled at when asking for change.
7.0 Good
Pros: the view.. if you pay extra for a room with port biew
Cons: some staff.. some were friendly, some not.. some incompetent AND unfriendly, which is the worst combination
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The mold in the bathroom , the old furnishing, the stale athmosphere
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, pool area nice including food and drink service. Wonderful view in the Vieux Port room, and large opening window very nice. Staff helpful. Breakfast buffet very good. Bus stop right next door and good bus service in Marseille. Just past lively area so not too crowded or noisy but still trivial walk to many restaurants and brasseries.
Cons: Some traffic noise, but not too bad and not unexpected for city location. Didn't bother my sleep.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing! The staff was profesional and friendly and the sound of crashing waves outside the room was magical.
Cons: I thought the spa access should have been included and the pet fee disclosed prior to check-in.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast is quite nice.
Cons: Parking place is a huge mess! Too expensive for the service and the quality you get.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent sea view and close to Calanques natural park .Good location with respect to city center too and just by main beaches .Fabulous breakfast and high quality cuisine restaurant.Good gym and fitness facilities.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast on the terrace in front of the see and swimming pool.
Cons: The elevator(s)! Not enough and too complex
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Nice retreat
Cons: Priceof drinks were too expensive. 20 euros for a glass of champagne!!!???
1.0 Poor
Pros: The location - sea side
Cons: We couldn't use any of the facilities (spa, gym, restaurant, bar) and had to take the last breakfast (very limited food choice - basically only coffe and croissants) in our room due to the shutdown imposed by the government related to the Corona breakout. We do understand the exceptional situation but we had to fight for a compensation of a mere parking bill when we paid over 300 euro for 2 nights in a standard room without any services. A customer oriented hotel and with a sense of fairness would have at least make the breakfast free of charge seeing we could not use NONE of their facilities or services during our stay, neither the breakfast buffet. From a chain hotel company this was something expected seeing the premium price guests pay respect to other hotel of the same league and standard. This was not the case and the hotel manager has clearly no flexibility and no sense of customer courtesy. Moreover when checked in the toilet was very dirty and instead of complaining we asked for a cleaning lady to please take care of the situation. We showed patiente and flexibility and we expected the same from the hotel but obviously this was not the case. We will definitely not recommend neither visit again this hotel chain seeing the policy they adopt for their customers!
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The view alone makes it worth staying! The staff is very friendly and always ready to assist. The room was very clean and spacious.
Cons: The food pricing seemed steeo, but not as steep as the €60 per night parking fee. There was no mention of it at booking time or when I checked-in.

Pros: Lovely interesting quirky decor - a feast for the eyes! Nice breakfast in a relaxed home setting. Lovely small patio. There are interesting shops and restaurants in the area.
Cons: I had forgotten how hilly Marseille is, so this felt like a bit of a trek with luggage - my fault for not looking at map properly, though buses do pass along the street.

Pros: WE LIKE VERY MUCH THE PLACE. VERY PLEASANT AND QUITE. THE ROOM WAS BIG AND NICE. THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice grounds, just in the outskirts of Marseille, pretty look to the hills. Excellent continental breakfast with a lot of homemade (level) food, very friendly staff
Cons: Less to blame the hotel rather due to its remote location - dining options are limited nearby, you need to look at the different beaches or downtown
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful. The staff were very helpful. The hotel grounds were beautiful
Cons: It would be better to be here with a car. The risks to the local amenities are narrow and difficult to walk.

Pros: So handy for the station. Loads of choice for breakfast.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Deputy Managef was very nice enough to acknowledge our complaint about their food , quality and labeling, in their bar and the attitude of one female staff re my questioning .. most things
Cons: Most things except the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to train station, great friendly staff, especially Lea thank you
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Very clean rooms, friendly staff, in front of gare St Charles
Cons: We had a 3 person room and a crib for our baby, room way too small. Difficult to move around. Should have been bigger as it is a family room, shower and bathroom also very small.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast buffet was good
Cons: Hotel and Room too hot
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing, very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was good, and the rooms were huge and clean.
Cons: Not a thing. Exceeded expectations
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was OK and nice breakfast.
Cons: Once we arrived after midnight (that was communicated earlier), we had to wait at the door for a long time (I rang the bell 3 times before manager opened the door for us). Mr. Pascal apologised, but that hardly can be considered a normal practice at the hotel. If you do not expect visitors at the late hour (due to the flight delay), you should be communicating that. Also information concerning you're security measures - doors looked and no people are allowed in if there are other travellers checking in. All in all, it was something that we did not like at all.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Thin, old towels. Shower curtain dripped water onto the floor. Black hairs in shower and basin

Pros: The position is good, very close to the old port.
Cons: The rooms were not properly cleaned. We had a piece of chewing gum on the bathroom floor that I had to clean myself eventually. The personnel never managed to leave 2 large towels and 2 small ones. We always had to ask for extras. There were 2 elevators out of which one was almost always broken

Pros: The location was wonderful - 5 min to the railway station (from where you get the bus to the airport), 10 min to the old port. I read comments that the neighborhood is bad, but i did not see anything scary or had any trouble. The room was very nice and clean, the kitchenette had everything you need - fridge, microwave, dishwasher. There is a nice terrace overlooking the little square and the triumph arc nearby, It was quiet during the night too. The staff was very polite and helpful.

Pros: Excellent ..well appointed clean contemporary rooms .A really good location..just 5 minutes from the bus and train station.A lovely view of Marseille and was happy to get a room on the upper floors.Hassle free and efficient check in and out.
Cons: I wish the kitchen had a few more dishes.only one glass. .....all the previous aparthotels we stayed in had provided some cleaning sponge and liquid... perhaps they could put basic salt and pepper like all the other places .
9.0 Excellent

Cons: Everything was ok.
7.9 Good

Ideal for your business or leisure trips, with exceptional location in the heart of Marseille; sub way and buses nearby, access to airport by train or bus from train station and, 100m from the hotel, Gambetta paid public parking.
6.3 Good
Pros: Large bathroom, pretty clean.
Cons: No fan, bad internet connection, looks pretty old
7.1 Good
Pros: Great staff. Very friendly. Ok value for money.
Cons: It’s was old and closed down for 3 months the day we checked out - our last morning was not very pleasant as staff were moving furniture quite early. Wishing them all the best with renovations - they are needed.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing actually
Cons: Beds, room, breakfast, warm drinks in the room, air conditioning
7.5 Good
Pros: Very basic room. Only hand soap - no little additional things like you get in some hotels. No hair dryer.
Cons: TV remote only increased channel - wouldn't go down - apparently some buttons not working.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location but very basic
Cons: Tiny room
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Great room was French doors for air thank heavens because AC was turned hotter then the temperature outside
Cons: Unable to control AC temperature set at 25 or sound of television which was so low you cannot hear it in the bed. The man at the front desk was grumpy and a sour puss and pretended that he cannot understand you. Yelled about giving a plastic cup for water cooler. Needs a different job away from people.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Break fast very good, especially the fresh fruit. Bed very comfy and nice bathroom
Cons: Only problem wad there was a lot of noise from adjoining room and one above. Also we were unable to charge phone in bedroom. However the friendly receptionists helped out
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice old building. We were wrongly informed about the breakfast time, so we have missed it. However we were still allowed to use from the buffet whatever we wished for. If you arrive by train, the amazing train station is just 2 minutes walk.
Cons: The building is really outdated and requires big renovation. In the hall the water was dripping from the ceiling, so the buckets where left on the floor. The dining area is charming, but again someone just need to clean it and refresh it.
