Pros: Excellent service. Delicious food
Cons: We would have liked 2 pillows each. Also complimentary coffee after dinner. We thought the bar teas and coffees were expensive Could some thing have been done about the FLIES in our room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every6
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly, experienced, professional and helpful. All the facilities were of the highest standard. The Health Spa had an ice grotto, steam room and 2 saunas as well as an ice cloud shower and 2 lovely swimming pools- indoor and outdoor pools with plumes and bubbles. The food including the breakfast was delicious and very tasty (Es hat uns gut geshmeckt!). We particularly liked the variety of foods they served for breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice/apple juice, eggs you could boil to your own taste and even a cooked breakfast of bacon and scrambled or fried eggs if that was what you wanted. My family particularly liked the pancakes with maple syrup. I liked the muesli, fruit, seeds and 'fresh from the farm' milk, yogurt, butter and cheeses. Service was quick - a pot of coffee arriving as we sat down at our table and when my son asked for hot chocolate that too was remembered and delivered by the ever obliging staff. It felt as though we were visiting 'old friends'.
Cons: I really don't think there was anything we didn't like. We were delighted when we came to pay the bill that a meal we had had in the restaurant was only charged at €12 per person. We were expecting to pay nearer €35 pp but as we were guests we had the option of having what the half-board guests were having with a 3 course meal - soup, main and a desert buffet. We had suggested that we would like to eat there that evening so we could watch the World Cup and offered the menu at breakfast to choose from. We would have done it more often had we known if was so delicious and such good value.
Hotel Platzl - Wildschönau - Building
2
9.4 Excellent (985 reviews)
S$ 150+
Overview Reviews
Hotel Platzl is situated in the village of Auffach in the Wildschönau high valley, just 120 metres from the cable car to the Schatzberg ski resort. In summer and in winter, this centrally located but quiet hotel is an ideal starting point for all activities in Wildschönau. The hotel features a large sauna and relax area, as well as a heated outdoor pool (open in summer), both of which are free to use for hotel guests. It offers comfortable rooms with balcony, an excellent restaurant, an elevator and plenty of parking. Hotel guests receive the Wildschönau Card free of charge. This card comprises many benefits in winter and summer, such as admission to local museums, guided hikes, use of the cable cars, access to the public swimming pool in summer and much more.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The bathroom had a sliding glass door.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The idea with the card for the guest is really nice. You have a lot to see in the area and the staff are really nice.
Cons: Parking exactly at the hotel should be for guest first, especially a long stay, then restaurant guests. A small tabel în the balcony would be nice and no flys in the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: WiFi could work better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jochen, his sister and their staff did set the bar very high for Austrian hospitality. We travelled around in Austria for 2 weeks and their standards were rarely met. We couldn't fault them. Nothing was too much. It is difficult to pinpoint an area where they excel as they are brilliant at everything. We would have stayed longer if we hadn't planned other stops. We will be back, no doubt!
Cons: Parking could be challenging, when the hotel is full but even then Jochen finds a solution!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Small village in a beautiful part of Austria
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Platzl is a large and attractive building of Tyrolean design that dominates as you arrive at the centre of the village. All the rooms appear to have been recently refurbished with attractive, custom-made wooden furniture and comfortable beds. There was also a separate bathroom and toilet in the family room we stayed in, which is convenient, and the shower offered a wet room style flat floor. However, the glass doors to the toilet and bathroom may be an acquired taste! The breakfast is of the typical continental variety with plenty of variety – croissants, breads, ham and cheeses – as well as a good choice of teas and excellent coffee. Guests staying at Hotel Platzl also get given the Wildschönau Card which, among other benefits, entitles you to use the local cable car some 120 metres away as well as the cable car in the nearby village of Niederau. Both these trips up different mountains offered fantastic views across the Alps and are highly recommended. A more detailed version of this review can be found at https://undercoverofthewrite.wordpress.com/ Hotel Platzl offered great hospitality, comfortable contemporary accommodation with a clear pride in their levels of service at a competitive price.
Cons: This is not a criticism merely an observation. The restaurant offers an a la carte menu – which looks pretty good, although not for vegetarians like myself – but as a family travelling with young children, some simpler and less expensive options would be welcome. But there are other eateries in the village to choose from.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the ski slopes, friendly people, clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment rooms are great for families of up to four, with a double room and two sofa beds in the living room / kitchen area. Food at the restaurant was great in the evenings. Breakfast was OK.
4.0 Okay
Pros: We made our own breakfast. The location made it impossible for us to ski. Only 2 ski busses in the morning / 1 at midday and 2 late afternoon. NO CHAIR LIFT / NO SKI-IN / SKI-OUT as described on the website
Cons: No shops / cafes or restaurants anywhere near the hotel. A long walk along busy roads to buy a few items for our breakfast. No shop at the hotel as we expected. No bus going to the Spar supermarket (only shop we saw) No taxis. We were therefore forced to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant but were NOT offered a half-board rate. We would NOT have booked this hotel for our ski holiday had we had proper information as a car is essential.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good choice of food and very good. Lovely views from room Lovely swimming pool Lovely rural location
Cons: Maybe a bar / social area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was extremely family friendly. We arrived with our 3 kids after a long car ride and they were encouraged to run and play in all the play spaces for kids. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. The room had plenty of space and was perfectly clean.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location to the village festival was great. Super friendly staff!
Cons: Bathroom could have used some towel hooks by the sink.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and view. The room and bathroom was very clean.
Cons: There was an odd odor in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I’m in love with this hotel! Located in a nice, small city in a very nice area, has fabulous view thru the balcony. The stuff is very velcoming, especially the lady who works in breakfast buffet! Super clean! Wonderfull brakfast! I will definitely come back again!
Cons: No air conditioning and the matrasses in beds are very hard so it was a bit uncomfortable to sleep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is unspeakably magnificent!
Cons: A bit expensive for a basic room out of season.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great stuff, breakfast, location and everything was well prepared for us. Also their summer card was amazing. We came late and receptionist still wait for us. Thank you very much!
Cons: There should be also some drinks in the fridge (for extra money) and some basic cosmetic stuff.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is on a hill, so it has a nice view. Close to the mountain lift.
Cons: We traveled with a little child, and were using one bed, sleeping together. We didn't request an additional bed. However, the hotel asked for additional 15% of the room price. It's their rules, ok, but never other hotels asked us for an additional price for just presence of a child, without using an additional bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel feels and looks like a newly-built establishment but, as it has been accepting guests via booking.com since 2009, it must have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. At one of the highest points of the village, it is accessed by a steep driveway and offers fantastic views of the surrounding Alps. Like so much of Austria, the hotel is pristine in condition. On arrival, you will be greeted with friendly, formal professionalism. The receptionist, complete in traditional Tyrolean dress, made a point of shaking hands with both me and my wife. I certainly appreciated such good manners! Our family room was on the ground floor and even included a patio door accessing the car park outside, which made unloading the car very easy! In fact the room was actually a suite complete with small hallway leading to the main bedroom and the children having their own room off that. The bathroom was an interesting ‘L’ shape and was well-appointed and scrupulously clean. Throughout, the hotel attractively furnished and decorated with a lot of wood on display. You’ll know what I mean when you see it. Everywhere was very clean. There is a bar and restaurant, although we ate out, returning to the bar for drinks later where the service was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and very good in buffet style with good choice for all tastes. A version of this review appears on www.undercoverofthewrite.com
Cons: There isn’t really anything bad to say about Hotel Sun Valley. On a personal level, the lighting in the restaurant/ bar was a bit bright in the evening which took away from the ambience and atmosphere. And the mountainside location means that the car park is necessarily limited in space. Late arrivals have to park further down the hill.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All staff friendly and helpful. Close to lift/valley bus.
Cons: Would have preferred a spa with clothes rather than texteilfrei.

7.1 Good
Pros: Really nice room in the guest house. The boxspring bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern with a good shower. The location is very close to all the skiing slopes.
Cons: The choice at breakfast wasn’t really good at all. You have to pay extra for scrambled egg, Fried eggs and cappuccino... That’s the first time I have ever seen this in Europe.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly staff. Great restaurant - local food.
7.5 Good
Pros: the bedroom was very nice, comfortable bed, hairdryer, soap and lovely view up the back fileds with our own large balcony Breakfast buffet was okay, three types of bread, boiled and fried eggs, sliced (processed) meats and sliced cheese. The fresh fruit salad was very nice with a huge bowl of yogurt. Lots of different tea, and very nice coffee
Cons: Some pastries at breakfast would have been a nice touch and some nicer jams and preserves. The buffet bar needs re organising so more than one person has access at a time!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Big and clean rooms, outdoor swimming pool and sauna. Just 1 minute walk and you can reach the cable car (free with the card the hotel give to you), where it is possible to relax and enjoy walking.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The pool and spa area was nice, and most of the staff were helpful.
Cons: The room wasn't ready for check in. Which can be ok, except we were checked in and given a key to a room which was not at all cleaned. Staff was apologetic though. Then two lights in the room didn't work. We could hear our neighbors' every trip to the bathroom through the sounds in the pipes, which were in the wall behind the bed... The menu for vegetarians was un inspiring, and we seriously considered going out for dinner, despite half board. Service during dinner was very un even. Sometimes ok and sometimes non existent.
7.9 Good
Pros: Position quite and close to the lift, swimming pool and wellness center
Cons: Welness center without any drink, poor coiche of salate on the dinner buffet as the poor quantity on breakfast too

7.0 Good
Pros: Swimming pool in hotel - nice, open all day and almost every time empty - positive thing on this hotel Ski area really close, as well as ski school Waiter in restaurant and cleaning ladies were very nice (despite their difficult job, for example only one person to serve in restaurant - the managemenymt should to think what means the word "service", not just think how to make amobey!). Hotel was clean, people nice. Breakfast with large choise of salami/ham, but you must ask for cofee or tea, no fresh fruit, nothing sweet (2 breads and 1 type of "semmels" and hard crackers), no indication what is in the bowls, glasses, plates...
Cons: Equipment in room - squizing door, no hangers in bathroom - difficult to dry wet clothes, wery low heating, in general the hotel is old, some refreshment us really necessary, it is not nice anymore. And I have asked in advance anti-alergic pillows because of alergy to feather - it was confirmed by hotel, but unfortunately not done. Breakfastwas limited, but for 3 stars it is ok. Check out at 10h -if you want stay longer, it is 8€ every hour - unbeliveble, I never had this, but we need to leave at 11h, so I accepted it. More than 20min to check out ( just to pay...). In general, I would like to come back to Niederau, but I'm not sure if I want to come back to this hotel...

Pros: Great staff great food and a lovely atmosphere. we really enjoyed the place so much will be recommending it to our Ski buddies. Flew to Munich 1 1/2 drive to hotel. Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Really nice room in the guest house.
