9.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location with an amazing view of the Nile. The historic past of this hotel together with the decoration of the common areas make up for a mythical atmosphere...
Cons: Better would have been staying there during warmer months to be able to enjoy all the facilities and the small boats activities offered on the Nile!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: A must stay when tracing the Nile and worth the spurge. It's skip the Nile cruise and stay an extra night here and at the Hilton in Luxor!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, selection of international and Egyptian food. View of the Nile from both restaurants (your restaurant is allocated dependent on which part of the hotel you are in) Staff are all adorable. This whole hotel is incredible. We stayed in the new part above the spa with a Nile Suite and the room and view were unbelievable. Late check out wasn't available on our suite so they moved us to a small room in the old original building which was equally lovely. If price is an issue book a cheaper room here which are still lovely because the communal areas of the hotel are all stunning anyway( Bar/restaurants and pool.). However the new building suites are amazing! We didn't dine in the French restaurant as were relaxing and didn't want to dress up. The Egyptian restaurant was lovely and Abdullah , Hedra, Wael and Moustafa get a shout out as we encountered them a lot. It has a very relaxed vibe, if you are an impatient person who likes people to jump when you click your fingers you may find the relaxed staff not to your liking. I however felt that they were perfect. Not in your face but always available to help. I travel a lot for work as well as leisure and can say this is up there with the best hotels.
Cons: Loved everything sad to have left!!! :(
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: French fries are frozen
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The views from the Nile view room were spectacular The design of the hotel lobby and bar and terrace The setting is so beautiful
Cons: With the exception of the service in the spa and 1902 restaurant (which were good) the service throughout this hotel was woeful. We went from here to the Winter Palace in Luxor and couldn’t believe it was the same hotel chain. The Oriental Kebaby was slow disorganised unwelcoming and chaotic. So frustrating and painfully slow we nearly walked out. Breakfast there every day was tortious as well. Waiting staff, kitchen staff and man an shouting at each other in front of staff, constant tension and no one knowing what they were doing. It was ripe for a Gordon Ramsey undercover show. The terrace has to be one of the most magical spots but the service was slow, inattentive and very hard to get served. Staff are working but no manager is based outside all the time overseeing staff. They are inside, talking or cleaning but not looking after their customers. It was a struggle to get their attention. The bar was worse unless you sat inside right in front of the bar it was a real struggle to get their attention. It’s such a shame because all this needs is training and new management.if ACCOR changes the managers and sent the restaurant bar staff to be re- trained in Luxor this would be a completely different experience.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The location and all the history that goes with the place
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The food, the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room.
Cons: The hot shower faucet was broken on the first night but the hotel had it fixed immediately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, view, foods, people..amazing place.no other choices. Best hotel in Egypt.
Cons: I don’t recommend Christmas dinner at main restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most beautiful hotel! With very nice people, and a wonderful view on the Nile.
Cons: Perhaps there could have been more "life" for Christmas evening. Food was very good...but the atmosphere too quiet for such an evening.

Pros: Amazing swimming pool. Good breakfast. Stunning view of Nile. Hotel is located in an island, with beautiful gardens and amazing views. Hotel is much greater outside than inside.
Cons: Confusing check in. Staff keep offering you their private “guided tourist services”. No concierge... we had to go to the other tower of the hotel (there are two separated towers) to get information about tours - and it was hard to get someone to help us.

Bet El Kerem Guesthouse - Aswan - Bedroom
3
8.5 Excellent (101 reviews)
S$ 38+
Overview Reviews
Located in front of the Tombs of the Nobles in Aswan, Bet El Kerem offers rooms with air conditioning. Its rooftop terrace has panoramic views of the desert and the Nile. The rooms at Guesthouse Bet El Kerem are simply furnished and are located in two buildings. One building has a view to the Nile, while the other looks onto the desert and Tombs of Nobles. All rooms have private bathrooms. Guests can relax at the rooftop terrace. Guests can enjoy local Nubian dishes as well as international cuisine at the restaurant. It is also possible to participate in a Nubian cooking workshop. Bet El Kerem’s 24-hour reception can help arrange various activities, such as a camel safari, sailing trips, and horse riding. The guest house also offers bicycle rental. Guesthouse Bet El Kerem is within walking distance of the local ferry, which brings guests in 10 minutes to Aswan’s city centre.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the roof is exceptional
Cons: Morning food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Abdel and his staff make the enjoyment of your stay their top priority. Everyone is kind, attentive and generous. The food was delicious, the beds were clean and comfortable and whatever you may want to do for the day is at your fingertips. Bet el Kerem has been the highlight of our time in Egypt so far.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location over looking the tombs of the nobles which is well worth a visit. The colors are incredible. All the staff were very helpful. The food was the best we’d had in Egypt. I’m glad we chose to have dinner here. We highly recommend this place and would love to stay here again! Wish we had booked more than 1 night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything. The guest house is on the West Bank which means you're isolated from the busy city and the noise. But it's also 2 mins from the local ferry which means you can reach the city in less than 10 mins for 2 pounds without any hassle unlike gharb soheil island. It's the perfect balance between calm and accessibility. The guest house is very clean and the breakfast is very good. We also had lunch twice there and it was excellent. Abu Karim, the owner, makes amazing food, is very generous with the quantities and constantly checks if we're happy and if we want anything. The roof is very cute, it's where you have breakfast/lunch and you can just chill there. They have tea and coffee available all the time, mineral water, and an assortment of fruits, all of which are free of charge. The staff is super nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and I'll definitely be going back there.
Cons: The bathroom in our room doesn't have walls, it's in the corner of the room with curtains around it. This made it a bit uncomfortable for us to use the toilet because it's awkward when other people are in the room and also you worry about the smell. However, there are several bathrooms outside the rooms so it compensates for the room's bathroom and it didn't affect our stay at all. Using the shower in the room was good, I didn't need to use the one outside.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The silence
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at Bet El Kerem guesthouse. The house itself is an old Egyptian family house with a beautiful garden and sparkling clean common areas. Great rooftop with dining area and Nile view. The breakfast cooked on site every day is delicious, especially shakshuka and taameya (Egyptian falafel). Location is very convenient 5 minutes walk from the arrival of the West Bank ferry. The guesthouse also houses a travel agency which organises activities in and around Aswan (camel safari, trip to Abu Simbel, felucca ride to Kom Ombo) with excellent service providers and at prices much lower than the ones proposed on cruise ships for example. The owner Abdel is very helpful and takes care of every detail along the way. Definitely a very good pick for a 4-5 days stay in Aswan, the wonderful capital of Nubia
Cons: The only negative point was the shortage of hot water in the bathrooms' hotel, which is hard during Egyptian winter! This should be fixed soon but better to check status with the owner before arriving.
7.5 Good
Pros: Convenient location close to the ferry on Aswan West, away from the city stress.
Cons: Internet and air conditioning not working most of the time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Abdel is the best host we have ever had. His place was super clean, the beds were very soft and comfortable, and his cooking was delicious. We loved the garden and rooftop patio. His place is super close to the ferry (6:00 - 24:00) allowing you to get across the river easily for food. He also provides amazing trip experiences at a fraction of the cost. If you don't want to find food across the river, Abdel is a cook with 30+ years of experience and is willing to make you anything you want. We were so, so sad to leave his place after our stay.
Cons: There wasn't really a lot we thought could have been better. The shower/bathroom was a little odd in our room with how the shower curtains were closed. They could probably be hung better but overall, we didn't really care or notice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Abdel made the stay excellent, very accommodating and he knows the area VERY well.. And they know him which helps!
Cons: Water pressure in the shower.. That's really it
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This the perfect place to stay for anyone who likes to have a more personal and local experience. We liked the fact that it was a home from home with fruit, chilled water, teas and coffee to help ourselves to at any time. The house was decorated in the Nubian style, painted a bright blue with bright fabrics and soft furnishings. Its slight imperfections were its charm. The roof terrace was laid out for dining and relaxing and was cool and quiet. The garden was likewise a quiet and shady place to sit or walk round. Our host, Abdul couldnt have been more welcoming or taken more trouble to ensure our stay was enjoyable. He even did our washing and arranged for ironing. He is a great cook and serves a fresh buffet and meal in the evenings and willingly prepared vegetarian food for us. He also arranged a good driver for a return trip to Abu Simbel which was a fantastic day out (including a large packed breakfast). We really enjoyed getting the ferry to the East Bank which was quick and runs constantly.
Cons: There is nothing we didnt like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The local connection was incredible. Abdul was an amazing host and showed us true Nubian hospitality. Breakfast was delicious and the two dinners we had prepared by the onsite cook were incredible. We loved sitting on the roof-top terrace, overlooking the nile and the Noble tombs, and enjoying the quietness of the area. It was also fun to take the local ferry across the Nile, away from the hoards of tourist crowds.
Cons: Everything was fantastic@

Pros: The place itself was beautiful with a stellar view. The food was delicious. Most importantly, our host Khaled, was the most sincere and helpful person ever. He arranged Abu Simbel tour for us as well as made sure we went to the Kalabsha Temple with his car. He also dropped us to the train station himself and had his cousin pick us from the airport. Everyone else at the property is also very friendly. It felt like home and we would definitely go back again!

Cons: Great view
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Khaled who is owner of the guest house is main man. His attention to customers is everything. He doesn't have all ultra modern gadgets in hand but his attitude to help you makes all the difference. He treats his guests more like a family member.
Cons: Internet connection is poor. But tell you what I am glad I didn't have that to really bother about constantly updating folks back home. Enjoyed peace and serenity of a quaint village . Sitting on terrace day and night and watching Nile flow was amazing experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I spent a vivid vacation at Eka Dolli guest house, one should say that this was real hospitality with kind and helpful staff Ibrahim and Tallat, in particular, were extremely nice and continued working all the time to guarantee that we have the best vacation. Khalid the owner is an honest and kind person with a wide smile. The food is beyond delicious thanks to the great Chef ♥ Rooms are clean with private bathrooms and AC . 4 days in heaven and we will be coming back next year! Thanks ♥ p.s this was my second visit to Eka Dolli and we are coming for a third longer visit:D
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel located in an amazing location. The rooftop terrace is a great place to spend your evenings overlooking the Nile. The staff are very helpful. Be sure to go for a walk around the village, everyone is very friendly and there is a great spot to swim in the Nile. The food served at the hotel is delicious, some the best meals we’ve had in Egypt.
Cons: The tours we booked would not pick us up from this hotel as they said it was too far out of Aswan. If you do plan to spend a lot of time in Aswan City, transport costs can add up. Would be helpful to know a bit of Arabic as staff’s English is limited.

Pros: Service is very good!
Cons: The facility is old. Air-condition makes too much noise and doesn’t work efficiently, so the room is cold. What’s more, hot water is not stable.

Pros: Stunning location on an island in the Nile. The ferryboat operators were especially courteous and helpful, but the entire staff showed dedication to accommodating guest service requests.
Cons: Seedy rooms and infrastructure in the main building reflected the decline in tourist visits. Could use a major cleanup and renovation.

Pros: The dinner staff were friendly and excellent The music band at night was excellent
Cons: The receptionists not professional and not welcoming. The room furniture And plumbing were worn out. The property need total renovation
4.6 Okay
Pros: the only good thing about this hotel is its location
Cons: extremely shabby old and smelly rooms. the food is of very low quality and I can only advise everyone to avoid this hotel.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view and sauna was goodbring
Cons: I saw the price of £65.00 but was charged $99.00 why? I am very unhappy about that
7.7 Good
Pros: the location is second to none, looking at so many trees and flowers with Nile views all around.Handy motorboat service to the town. Taking a leisurely motorboat trip into the area around the hotel was magic.I saw many birds and the time of day I chose to go,4pm is just perfect for photographing the area. The room had 2 balconies it also had tv fridge a large bed and a marble ensuite. This was a little tired though but anything required was seen to by housekeeping straight away. The food was good a nice varied buffet for breakfast and evening meal.A meal from room service was fairly quick and good value.
Cons: the gardening team starting to cut down some dead trees and saw up the branches (with a chain saw )at 8am on saturday morning.I know that radical gardening has to take place to encourage new growth but spring isn't the right time, anywhere!and 8am is very early. There was not enough staff for the restaurant service by the pool and I had words re a lack of change, later resolved. The food was good though. there was no a la carte restaurant,so wanting a simple meal one evening we took the motorboat to the town.

Cons: Hotel was closed after booking with Orbitz and was in run down poor condition. They need to check their listings and make sure their hotels are still in business. Ana Kato did not answer my phone calls prior to arrival and Orbitz will not refund my money claiming I did not call ahead. How do you call a closed hotel? This hotel is unethical and will not refund my money claiming I did not call. The fact that Orbitz will not make things right makes it worse.

Pros: The most beautiful hotel! With very nice people, and a wonderful view on the Nile.
Cons: Perhaps there could have been more "life" for Christmas evening. Food was very good...but the atmosphere too quiet for such an evening.

Pros: Khaled who is owner of the guest house is main man. His attention to customers is everything. He doesn't have all ultra modern gadgets in hand but his attitude to help you makes all the difference. He treats his guests more like a family member.
Cons: Internet connection is poor. But tell you what I am glad I didn't have that to really bother about constantly updating folks back home. Enjoyed peace and serenity of a quaint village . Sitting on terrace day and night and watching Nile flow was amazing experience.
