Pros: Tranquil setting. Very clean and well equipped apartment with small extra, and thoughtful touches. Lovely shower room with power shower and plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts.
Cons: The property is old and has the charm of a bygone era, but in my view needs some updating for today's market. The kitchenette area of the two bedroom apartment, in particular needs to be remodelled as it was a challenge to use and would benefit from an open plan approach. I wonder whether the owners have plans and it is a work in progress. My comments are meant to be constructive and not critical.

4.0 Okay
Pros: lovely building and grounds. large room. Nicely decorated.
Cons: We were disappointed with the bedding in that the duvet cover kept coming off as stud fastening damaged, noticed very cheap and shabby duvet underneath. Also the shower in our room was very low flow and took me ages to wash and rinse my hair. Not being picky but also the breakfast choice was a limited buffet style, no vegetarian alternative and very limited food on offer. This is a shame as I consider these things basics.
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, every you need was there in the bedroom. Staff were excellent. Absolutely a place to stay for the food, art and sculptures and the price made it superb value for money.
Cons: Tiny bathroom, tiny wash basin, no heat in bathroom, no bin in bathroom. Weak shower flow. Lighting could do with more subtle choice around bed.

Pros: Lovely welcome by staff. Welcoming atmosphere. Lovely art and views from room. The gardens are a bonus. Very interesting. Lovely food in the restaurant. I had to leave early and staff made sure I had a takeaway breakfast.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had very a lovely clean finish which can’t be said for many in the area. The location is also fantastic to the town.
Cons: Our room as what seems many at the hotel are in an entirely different building over the far side of the car park, which made our stay feel a little distant from the bar and public areas. However the room was still finished well, only complaint which is a big one for those who enjoy a good night sleep. THE PILLOWS, not to the 4star standard.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent
7.0 Good
Pros: The proximity to the town. Room was comfortable, although there was no view even though it was a superior room. Reception and bar staff were very good.
Cons: We had a problem with a meal and one of the staff members, but when we came to pay our bill for our stay the management reacted appropriately re our complaint and compensated us accordingly. The Table D'Hote menu and A la carte pricing was confusing. It would be better if the two were separate rather than one being a price supplement on the other. It was a stated price for two courses but it was difficult to establish whether you could just have one course and pay accordingly. The vegan options were overpriced for what was served.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere and location of the hotel
Cons: I request to have large double beds at the time of marking reservation, but at last only regular beds be provided.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent. Room clean, comfortable and well provisioned with toiletries.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely style, very smart. Best hotel for value & style we have stayed in.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bar 62 barman was excellent. Friendly, helpful and attentive.
Cons: Tv switched itself on
1.0 Poor
Cons: Very loud music at night, inconsistent breakfast, not soundproof (steps of people walking outside the room and on the next floor were waking us up all the time).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I actually spent three nights there, as I was unwell on arrival and then not able to drive back to Yorkshire until Thursday. The staff were helpful when I asked to extend each day, finding the best deal and providing room service when requested. I spent most of my time in the room. Cleaning staff respected my privacy and simply topped up my drinks etc as necessary. When I left the receptionist asked how I was and wished me well. Room was very comfortable.
Cons: Parking was difficult to find, along a narrow road between buildings. There were some transit vans which had problems navigating a corner, and they then blocked some car park spaces, making manoeuvring difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. Central location. Clean . Good food Staff friendly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Problem with not being able to have a drink or a meal on the Sat evening. Probably because it was the weekend before Christmas but staff never informed us of this. Also very noisy outside until gone 4a.m. Breakfast was all buffet and not as hot as it used to be when cooked to order. A retrograde step unless this too was because of Christmas.
Cons: Breakfast and communication regarding closure of lounge, bar and restaurant for private party.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Nice bread for toast, nice teabags, lovely light conservatory. We had a delayed check out and the staff were very accommodating. Good steak at dinner. Comfy bed. Beautiful setting
Cons: Food at dinner and breakfast was not hot enough, and lacking in flavour. Restaurant staff were not very attentive, didn't bring water until the end of the meal Bedroom was cold and even when reported to the desk, the radiators were not on at the end of the evening nor did they come on in the morning There were lots of outdoor steps to our room with no hand rails
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, spotlessly clean and spacious. Food was good. The staff were exceptional, being cheerful, polite, very helpful and efficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place I have stayed ✓✓✓
Cons: The ONLY criticism is the cooked breakfast in a pool of water, get the cook to drain the bacon properly! Other than that, is the best place I have stayed ✓✓✓
9.0 Excellent
Cons: I had expected a fridge in my room, but I guess on tbe UK that is standard.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast nice ...bed comfy
Cons: Room needs a lick of paint and cobwebs brushed away mould on bathroom ceiling and on tiles
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Unfortunately arrived much later than expected due to the very poor weather conditions. The man at reception was more than helpful. Breakfast staff were great too.
Cons: Sorry to say the bed was far too soft and we both felt we sank into the mattress. Some cleaning, especially of the common areas, needs to be undertaken. But you know that as it has been written about before.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was good, restaurant staff friendly-Jess very good - very relaxing weekend
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff very helpful. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast very good and nice to see good quality products being supplied. Evening meal, which was charged separately, was really good value for money. Tea and coffee supplies in the room were generous and biscuits delicious, and again good quality. Yes I will be going back again.
Cons: We were given a downstairs room initially, but after a couple of hours listening to the people above walking about in what sounded like hob nailed boots on a wooden floor, we asked to be moved. We were given another room, upstairs this time, which was far nicer, fresher and lighter. The first room was incredibly gloomy and even with all the lights on, it had a very depressing feel to it, plus it smelt peculiar. The whole place needs a coat of paint, a stiff broom outside and a tidying up of the gardens. It could look really nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms well presented, good showers.

Dinner was down the hill at the Hunters Inn and we were offered a lift at the end of our meal to save our legs. Pat and Mark made our stay very pleasant indeed, nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Heddons Mouth Hotel is set in an idillyic location very close to Heddons Mouth itself and The Hunters Inn which is a great watering hole for whilst you are there. The owners are extremely friendly and I felt at home immediately, views are to die for and lots of parking for guests. The route in is narrow and not for the faint hearted but par for the course in Devon and Cornwall so not unexpected. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as it is in a beautiful setting and an ideal place to relax or go exploring from either on foot or by car. I will definitely be back :-)
Cons: No complaints at all....

Single room was small, but comfortable with quality linens, towels and a plentiful supply of coffee, tea, cakes and biscuits. Excellent breakfast menu.
