The location was great! It was within walking distance of a couple metro stations and you can also walk to the Wang Fu Jing Shopping Area. We also enjoyed the old-school Beijing style of the hotel. The courtyard atmosphere was very nice and we enjoyed wandering through the little alleys surrounding the hotel. The manager was very nice and easy to communicate with and accommodated our late check-in. Since we came during the middle of winter, the heated floors were great!
The room was a little bit smaller than expected and I didn't think it matched what we paid. The shower was also very difficult to use. The shower head is mounted at a weird angle so it does not spray down, but instead at an almost 90 degree angle and essentially went over my head.
Lovely hotel in the old city of Beijing, nicely decorated rooms, in traditional style, very friendly staff.
It was overpriced for what it was offered, breakfast was really poor.
The room was accurate as per advertised, the bed and pillows were comfy, hot shower always available, heated floor really help during the cold winter, plenty of plug points to recharge your gadget and electronic devices, The location was in the hutong - old neighbourhood, which is good for people who wants to experience local culture, The staff spoke good english, very attentive, helpful and friendly.
A bit far from the nearest subway station i.e. Dongsi Station, which is 15 mins away. Must use the subway to get to city centre or else need to walk >1km. The staircase in the room is steep, must be careful if small children are around.
The setting inside the loft is amazing and cozy. The hotel is a very traditional house. We had all facilities and the staff was super friendly.
The stairs to the bedroom, which is a loft are a bit to low for tall people. Just watch your head. The location is good but sometimes you need to walk a little to get to the train or bus station.
The place was cute and warm. The staff were lovely. It had personality and was in a good area and close to Metro.
I didn't understand how to regulate the temperature upstairs in the loft so I was cold. It was warm down below. Also, it was too hazardous to climb up in and out of the tight loft space. For me wanting to go to the bathroom a few times in the night, it was tough. Also, there was no light by the bedside.
