Cons: car was not available. Took me to a local rental company to fulfill their obligation, but the car class I had booked was not available, so in addition to getting a crappy car, we barely had enough room to fit our luggage. No apologies, or partial refunds were given. Instead, they made it seem like a positive that the local company was able to honor the same rate.... Of course they should honor it, I'm getting a worse car than what I booked! Avoid at all costs...

Long wait times
Pros: Great price.
Cons: Car was 2nd from cayman budget with no registration. Police said we had to go in front of judge. Meaning we had to fly back or face prosecution . A mess. Year later car no registration .

Budget is terrible as far as customer service
Pros: The 2nd car we received was fine.
Cons: We arrived in Grand Cayman at 9:45 pm on 7/9/2016. The delay was due to maintenance issues with the plane from Cayman Airways. This information was available to anyone with internet access. When we arrived, they did not have the full size car that I had reserved. They had already given it to someone else with the excuse that they didn't think we would make it that day. All they had left was a sub-compact car. Also, they advised us at that time that they would not be open when we came to return the car. Also, we had to put a $500.00 deposit / hold on a credit card, which A) I was NOT told about at time of booking and B) Ive been to Cayman 8 times now and this is the 1st time I've ever had to do that. There were 3 of us total, so we had 6 pieces of luggage and 3 carry ons with a sub compact car. All luggage in back and 3 people in front. Completely RIDICULOUS!!! So to sum it up, there were 3 problems with the rental
1) WRONG CAR AT PICKUP
2) Rental car agency not open at time of pickup. Why would you allow someone to rent a car from a place that wouldn't be open at drop-off time? I specified my drop-off time when I booked
3) Kayak should state UP FRONT that there is a $500.00 CC hold at pickup. This was not done

Avoid Budget at GCM
Pros: Initial price seemed very good versus other competitors
Cons: Frequest traveller to GCM and decided to give Bugdet a try as we use them stateside for business rentals. Flight was late due to re-routing around storms in the air so we had no ability to notify of late arrival. When I arrived the customer service rep actually laughed at me when I mentioned I had a reservation for a car. They had no cars available and were extremely unhelpful in finding any other solutions as they said we were "no-shows" and therefore they were not obligated to fulfill my request. They did offer to drive me (not my family) to the hotel and work on it the next day but I decided against any further help from this already poor staff. Finally rented from Hertz next door at 3-times the cost but the service and experience were light years better and I have learned this lesson again the hard way. You definitely get what you pay for at GCM

Pros: Close to airport terminal.
Cons: Staff was not so friendly. Car had very little technology.... No NAV or Bluetooth. But overall it was fine.

Poor service & car in disrepair
Pros: Car was comfy & roomy
Cons: Disrespectful service at check in. Overcharged at check out. Car had extreme warnings go off twice. Left blinker went out. The First car they gave us the seat was broken. Settled for a car with dents and dirty. Took 2 hours to get on our way. Only 1 couple ahead of us in line, still took 2 hours.

Beware of additional charges
Cons: Overcharged at checkout for additional coverage that I specifically said I did not want at initial check-in. The agent at checkout was completely unhelpful resolving the issue.
Pros: Response to a problem with the car was very fast.
Cons: Rear view mirror on first car was so loose it would not stay adjusted.
Replacement car had worn and mismatched tires, One tire was very low and needed inflation. Dashboard tire inflation warning stayed on
for entire rental period causing repeated checks of tire psi.
Wind shield wipers were old and ineffective on both cars.
Pros: We liked that the drivers seat was on the left side of the car, which is good for us (from the US) b/c it made driving on the left side of the road in Grand Cayman, BWI, less confusing. Car was roomy and comfortable and the rental car depot is close to the airport.

Pros: The locals were helpful and they offered me an upgrade for the same price. I would definitely choose Avis for all my car needs.
Pros: We were helped very quickly, quickest rental car pickup we have EVER had on the island. Guys worked quick and were polite.
Cons: They tried to charge us far more than our booked price. Thankfully I printed the confirmation and they then honored our reserved price. I don't know what we would have done if I hadn't printed it. Pretty disappointing.

Cons: felt like I was getting taken advantage of...extra taxes...extra insurance..foriegn lic...I choose Hertz and Kayak because I thought I would get the Best price..and the best and clean car and great
service..I got neither...
Cons: You need to straighten out insurance. I thought I had bought insurance only to arrive at the counter and be told that my insurance was no good with Payless and I had to buy it from them. They claim to know nothing about what I had already bought. Is this some kind of scam.?
