Cons: There was a very long wait at the Dollar counter at Louisville airport (one hour for 4-5 customers). I had reserved a "Special" online because it was described as capable of holding five people and two suitcases. The lady at the counter was friendly, but told me I would need to upgrade to get something big enough. I needed the space for luggage, so I paid extra (she did offer some kind of discount) and choose a Corolla.

Cons: When I arrived at the desk and showed them my reservation, they didn't want to honor it and told me they don't ahve the size car available for this rate. They forced me to take something larger and charged me $89 vs 43

Pros: The people who work here are very nice & divided great customer service.
Cons: They couldn't find the reservation I made through kayak.com & told me they were out of rentals. (Like - the excellent rep there found me a car & gave me the price I had it online for.)

Cons: I never actually got the car. I went to pick it up and they tried to add in over 400 dollars in fees. They wanted to charge me about 700 dollars for one weeks rental. I will not be using Kayak again or Dollar. Kayak gave me a 250 dollar quote. It was obviously way off.

Pros: I liked the car
Cons: I didn't understand the car and why it was beeping or why it kept showing me different numbers on the screen. I didn't know how to work it.
Also, Kayak gave me one price and then the airport charges me almost another $125. I was really pissed off about that. Don't show a price online and then I have to pay over $100 more when I get to the airport. I will never use Kayak again, I cannot trust it.

Cons: Louisville was very disorganized. I had difficulty knowing where to take the car to be checked in--very poor signage. I ended up pulling up to an Enterprise sign for checkin, I couldn't find one for Alamo. I was told I was at the right place. No directions were offered on how to even get into the airport!

Pros: The price was great and the car was in excellent condition.
Cons: Though I had indicated I wanted to pick up and drop off at the Louisville airport, I was scheduled to pick up and drop off at an off-airport site. The folks at Hertz rectified this, but I had to pay a $15 fee. Considering the price, this was acceptable, but I'm not sure I didn't just luck out in encountering Hertz people who were willing to help.

Great service, pretty good car
Pros: Pickup and drop off were both smooth, with friendly, personable staff who were ready to help. The car (a Toyota Yaris) was clean and gave me no operational hassle. The fuel economy and pickup were good, and my fiance and I were both grateful that what it lacks in horizontal space, it makes up for vertically; we are both tall, but neither of us felt squished. Being able to use the Bluetooth with my phone was a very welcome and appreciated feature.
Cons: The steering wheel doesn't telescope forward, and as I sit with the seat fairly far back to accommodate for my legs, it resulted it me hunching forward to reach it properly. The Yaris also has some sizeable blind spots, and as my rental was an economy, the side mirrors have to be adjusted by hand, which were both fine once I adapted.

Pros: I received a fuel efficient, fairly new Nissan Sentra. The price was right and the car handled well.
Cons: There are no frills (no navigation, Bluetooth only transmits voice for calls, seats are small and stiff etc).

Cons: I called prior to taking a cab to the rental location to find they had no cars. They called me back at closing time to say the car had still not been returned and the earliest I could pick it up was 8am, which was when I needed to be at my first meeting. I used a ride service to get to my destination.

Great gas mileage !
Pros: Car was very good with gas mileage. We drove 2200 miles for roughly $100 USD.
Cons: Car was a wee bit small for a trip to Smyrna Beach, Florida vacation trip. with two kids aged 7/10. Trunk / Hatch area a bit small also. I just needed to upgrade to mid size car next time.

Pros: I loved that they didn't charge a huge drop-off fee for the one-way rental. The staff was very nice and professional at the location where I picked up the vehicle.
Cons: The car was not very clean and smelled of cigarette smoke.
Pros: The car, a Kia Optima, was very nice. Great gas mileage. Reservation agent was very helpful.
Cons: At pickup the car smelled like cigarette smoke. At return the counter agents were unable to do split payments. It's very difficult to understand how a business would not expect more than one party to share a rental and the cost.

Pros: I don't usually write these reviews, but my experience was unbelievably terrible with Budget. I recently moved from Kentucky to California, and we had plans to fly to meet my husband's family for Christmas. I had to change plans last minute for a funeral of a close family friend...so I was about to change my flight to Louisville, and I rented a car to drive to Michigan after the funeral to meet my husband for Christmas. They advised my husband on the phone, and myself at the office, that we could drop off the rental after hours (they close on Saturday at 12:00 noon) at the location we had chosen in Michigan no problem - they told us both that we had 24 hours from our pick up to drop it off the next day (which was 4:00 pm). The next day is today- it is Christmas Eve, also a Saturday. They told us that the drop off location would be closing as 12:00, however, this location states there are no after hours drop off. We called customers service and they advised us that we could take the car to a different location and drop off after hours for a $50 fee...or we could drive an hour out of our Way to drop it off at the airport (so 2 hours round trip, plus wait time to return it). I already had less time with family because of the funeral, which is why I rented the car to get up to Michigan...so I made plans accordingly to return it at the location near my destination. So we asked for a manager, and they told us our options: 1, pay $50 fee to return car, as drive over 1 hour round trip (even though they told us we could drop it after hours at our destibation), 2. Drive over 2 hours round trip to airport to avoid fee...however, at this point we had 45 min to make it there by 4:15 (our scheduled drop off time), and miss dinner with our family that came to meet us, or 3. Keep the car until Monday (office is closed Sunday for Christmas), so they would charge us for 2 more days -$300 and then management can call us back next week, but there is no guarantee they will reimburse us for the extra time that we kept the car to return and did not use anymore. They showed no compassion for my loss, or for our trouble. We will be spending Christmas with family tomorrow,ans returning the car Monday morning and hoping for the best. They will be getting a piece of my mind Monday. Wish us luck. And we will never use Budget again. I will gladly pay double if I need to, to avoid using this company again. Merry Christmas, Budget. Thanks for making an already difficult holiday season, even better.
Pros: the car was fine. not great sight lines but fine for a quick rental.
Cons: pick up was extremely slow. the place was understaffed and having computer issues. the guy was having a bad day but it seemed like that was a regular occurrence. drop off was better. Watching the other companies in the rental area I will pay a little more to go with another brand in the future. they were clearly better staffed and more helpful.

Two hour window
Cons: I showed up after my designated pick up time only to realize that I had a two hour pick up window. Because I didn't show up within two hours of my appointment, I was stranded at the airport. I had to go with another agency which was a 50% increase in price. Not a good experience.

They didn't save a car for my reservation!
Cons: I arrived from my flight (on-time) to find a gentleman sitting behind the counter with headphones on, staring at his computer screen. After putting my ID & credit card on the counter, it still took him around 30 seconds to acknowledge my existence. Removing his headphones, he took my ID, typed my information into his computer, and then (without saying anything to me) walked over to his counterpart at the next agency. After a brief discussion, he returned and said "I see you have a reservation, but we have no cars." What is the possible purpose of taking a reservation if you won't actually hold a car for it? I even asked about returning to the airport the next morning to pickup a car, but he said I would just have to make a new reservation...obviously I didn't have faith in their system at that point.

2) Extending the rental was so hard I had to go to the Airport and do it in person. It shouldn't be so hard to give you more business!
Cons: Counter person at SDF Louisville told me you " must " take our min insurance adding an additional $130 to the tab. After already signing, I realized that I do NOT have to take thrifts minimum insurance policy. When I re approached him he became upset with me" you told me to put it on" . I had registered for an intermediate an he gave me a Chevy that was not a intermediate. I had to drive 4 crammed people( one of which was my boss) from Louisville to Nashville. I had ask for something large enough to to fit 4 comfortably.

Customer service needs work
Pros: Car was nice, clean, etc. Dropping the car off was super simple, quick, and easy. Price was cheapest of all the competitors.
Cons: The woman working behind the counter when I arrived to pick the vehicle up was rude, assuming, and very unnecessarily curt with me. There was zero people in line behind me, I am young and polite and easy to work with, and I had made my reservation already online days before. But she was so rude and short with me, that it gave me pause, and I considered cancelling right there on the spot. She's fortunate that I am not her boss, as she would have to find employment elsewhere.
If you work in customer service, be polite! Don't be a brat, don't make assumptions about people, chill out and do your job. end rant.

The GPS was out of date and sent me to the wrong location twice, was slow and did not now the current roads.
The cars are the farthest from the terminal.
I had to go back to the desk to check the vehicle back in - the outside check in wasn't working.

Pros: The car was clean and a nice vehicle.
Cons: The car was not ready for us at the designated time. Then the attendant said they did not have one at all. After several hours she found one at another site. All this caused stress and delayed our vacation by more than 5 hours. Then the price was even higher than originally quoted not a single discount for my inconvenience or their confusion.
Cons: I called National and cancelled the rental the same day as my search changed the rental dates and I did not notice until after I booked. I was still charged the additional insurance to my credit card and now fighting to have that refunded.
