Pros: The car was nice and performed as expected. Pickup was good.
Cons: Drop off in New Orleans airport at around 5:30 AM. There were no agents anywhere and signs said to leave the keys in the car. It would be easy for anyone to steal the keys or the car. Hertz should have a secure key drop box for cars returned when no agents are on duty.

great service, great price.
Pros: I loved the easy booking, and when I got to the Hertz location the experience was made even better by the great staff at Hertz- so friendly and helpful.
Pros: That they at leastdidnt require me to donate my firstborn child...
Cons: Maybe it's because we're danish, but we are used to finding a price om the internet, which is the price that needs to be paid.
What we expirienced was finding a price of prox 350$, going to the airport and was asked to pay 1100$:
After a half an hour of argumenting back and forth we got a bigger car for same amount (1100$).
But even though, asked to pay like roughly 3 times the advertised price is ridicules.

Disappointed by being charged more than advertised
Pros: The car was basic and reasonably clean (albeit a bit beat up for a practically new car)
Cons: When I arrived at Dollar, they quoted me a price twice what was reflected on Kayak. Even after declining all of their optional coverage and services, the rate was still 20% more than what I booked it at. The Dollar staff blamed Kayak, but they were not particularly friendly or helpful, making me think the issue is on them. I've never had a similar issue with another company.

Shady Desk Staff
Pros: No problems with the car itself.
Cons: When we declined additional insurance, they snuck it in anyways. If we hadn't caught it before we pulled out of the lot, they wouldn't have reversed it. The woman who fixed it for us even said how shady they are and that they try that frequently.

So so rental.
Pros: The rental car agent when I picked up my car was less than helpful, never smiled, spoke monotonously, and was more interested in his cell phone than helping me. The car was a nice car, easy ride, and perfect for New Orleans so you didn't feel out powered by the larger cars on the road. The engine light did come on during my rental.
When I dropped the car off, the employees were far more helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. There was an attempted burglary on the rental car so they knew what paperwork I'd need to fill out and what the process would be like.
I'll probably go with a different company next time, just to know you'll get some friendliness on all ends.

Trick you into purchasing insurance
Cons: We reserved through them online because they we the cheapest. We got there and they tricked us into purchasing an insurance package even though we did not need it, but they made it seem mandatory.

the car was not worth the money
Pros: The car was clean and the personnel I met were courteous.
Cons: for the money, the car was not worth it. It had manual windows and manual mirrors. You could not adjust the steering wheel or the seat properly. For what I paid for the car it should have had more than base equipment.

Cons: I was in town for funeral, felt agent took advantage of us. My daughter dropped off car and when I got bill I was charged for things I did not sign up for like road side assistance, I was over charged 100.00. I will to use dollar rental ever again.

Pros: Customer Support reps were excellent in working an upgrade for me.
Pros: Reserved a intermediate car and was given a large suv, did not need a large suv and they got me a Dodge Charger within one hour.
Enterprise went above and beyond to get a car to fit my needs.

Every person was so nice, the car was not
Pros: I liked interacting with the people who worked at the Enterprise location.
Cons: The bumper falling off, the alignment on the car pulled to the right horribly, the check engine light came on causing the car to almost stall on the highway, and the tire pressure light came on and required me to add air to ALL four tires. The car rode and drove horribly. Every time I showed up somewhere, I had to explain that it was not me that caused the damage to the bumper. It became annoying and embarrassing.

Cons: We specified airport as location to pick the car up at, and they scheduled us elsewhere, and since I specified location I did not see it has scheduled pickup elsewhere in the city. Sucked! Way to start a vacation off!

Terrible pick up but everything worked out
Pros: Got a free upgrade
Cons: Waited over an hour for a vehicle to become available then, once they finally pulled one around, it had a flat tire. I waited another 15 minutes before they finally gave me a suitable vehicle.
Pros: Car was fine. Staff were very friendly (they don't set the crazy rates).
Cons: The line and service was slow - took 30 minutes with only 6 people in front of us. Had to pay additional daily rate for additional driver who is a spouse (never been charged by any rental company before for that). Paid for insurance which was more than the rental. I'd never rent from Thrifty again no matter what the deal was. It went from a simple $107 charge to almost $400 with all the fees. Not a happy customer. Also it feels like a hundred miles from the terminal in that ghastly heat to get to the car rental, especially with luggage.

Car was fine, rental car seat was NOT
Pros: Car was clean, line was short.
Cons: The first car seat we tried to rent was broken and unsafe - the second car seat they had was also in terrible shape and not safe but it was all they had. We should not have been charged and those seats need to be replaced immediately.

Price too high
Pros: The price was double what I reserved as the agent insisted the compact was too small for my luggages. Then they did not have a mid size car available for rent, therefore, we had to rent a full size car at double the price.

Terrible Thrifty Experience
Pros: The line at the Thrifty Counter was more than 45 minutes long to rent a car. I did not wait and instead used a different agency with no wait. Terrible service, and will never use again.

Cons: Let's see. I couldn't rent a car because I had a debit car. Something that apparently only happens in Louisiana. It should have been specified earlier so I could plan my trip. Ended up having to buy a very expensive train ticket instead in emergency to be able to get to Memphis on time to catch my flight.

Search results unclear - car reserve. not at airpo
Cons: What ever you do, you need to always make it visually easier to determine if the car is not at an airport. I am guessing a huge percentage of cars rented through your site are at airports. There should be a better differentiation in search results as well as a quick warning upon check out.
Nothing more frustrating than getting to the counter having them tell you it will cost 3x because reservation is somewhere else. I went with a different company.

Cons: After wasting over an hour at the airport I found out Kayak and it partners made my reservation in the city instead of airport! Customer service was rude and not helpful over the phone. I had to pay double the rate I had reserved to rent directly from Budget. I rated everything as poor not because of Budget, but your on-line system.

Another example of why you should never book through Kayak
Pros: Nothing, I liked nothing about the reservation / experience with Kayak.
Cons: I searched for - and booked - the car for pickup at the New Orleans airport, drop off at the downtown location. When I arrived at the airport, the Budget desk said "oops, looks like it's supposed to be picked up downtown" which caused me to have to book an entirely new reservation on the spot, costing me more than DOUBLE the original booking. Thanks for screwing me Kayak!

Pretty smooth overall
Pros: The car pickup process went relatively smoothly. The car was overall in very good shape and easy to drive.
Cons: The car had multiple scratches and dents on it I had to be sure were accounted for.

Got bad car first
Pros: I got a bad car that was shaking at the speed more than 55 mph. Was able to change it for absolutely new car in another city's airport without any problem and enjoyed the rest of my trip driving new Ford Edge.
Cons: I booked SUV but at the pick up office they told me that they had only mid size cars. I insisted on SUV. They found it, but it was bad. They should have checked it.

Cons: They did not have a booster seat for my 6 year old daughter. We called 3 in the area and none if them had one, so we ended up at Wal-Mart and bought a seat ourselves.
