Cons: N/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean, spacious and helpful staff! I'm looking in to getting a membership as it's one if the nicest hostels I've stayed in and I'm a pretty seasoned traveller!
Cons: The pots and pans in the kitchen are all scratched. Teflon is dangerous when consumed so when a pan gets scratched, it needs to be discarded. Get metal pans for your kitchen! I couldn't cook my food :( Also, dont park right out front, I got a ticket for parking in a tow zone only enforced 7am-9am (so weird and dumb). But the front desk staff was helpful in suggesting ways I contest it.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Cheap, hipster-y common room
Cons: Gisnt nasty bug in room, found it when taking bedspreads off. Who knows what it did to me when sleeping. Gross.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, quiet. Friendly and helpful staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the price and the pool table. Staff was very nice .
Cons: My roommate had a cold and was sick all over the room, the other guy smelled like weed very strong odor and then one guy just talked on the phone the whole time loudly in a different language. Hey I'm home now not sick thank god all together was a good stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We wanted to stay in downtown Richmond but the other hotels were very expensive. The hostel was perfect with a spacious room to ourselves and a private bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was simple and very clean.
Cons: The walls were a bit thin, you could hear every conversation in the hallway and every door that closed in the hall.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Really comfortable. Good staff. Great shower.
Cons: It’s not totally their fault, but parking was a bare.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleaning staff does a great job. Though some parts of the hotel reflect previous life and tired, e.g., carpets and elevator, the rooms were spotless. and very comfortable.
Cons: Needed an extra blanket for the winter night. We put the heat up, and it was fine, but needed our jackets and towels on top of the bed for real comfort. The carpets need to be replaced.

Cons: Felt dated. Needs freshening up

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was outstanding
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is absolutely amazing. Very safe area ,spacious rooms, great pool area to relax, great customer service, beds are the most comfortable I've ever been in for a hotel. Super clean!
Cons: No microwave in rooms.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is situated in a truly gorgeous setting away from the seediness of Richmond. It's an excellent base for trips to Richmond. The hotel is more like a resort campus, and the buildings all have a very high curb appeal. The room I got was very spacious, and the bedding quality exceptional. For the price I paid, it was a bargain.
Cons: The only problem I had was a slow toilet. I think this was probably more reflective of my bad luck than anything else. I didn't try to get it fixed by calling maint, but I'm confident that the hotel would've been responsive. The second problem is more systemic. You are a couple of miles away from places to eat, so I decided to eat at the restaurant. I recommend *not* doing that. The service was extremely slow, and the food was a tad below mediocre. The tomato bisque soup I ordered arrived cold, and was inedible anyway. Guests should opt to make the drive to a nearby dining establishment instead.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The area
Cons: View
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is gorgeous ~ truly a hidden gem! Will definitely stay there again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Looks like an old mansion but has modern rooms. The grounds are beautiful. Great value. Workout room and machines were excellent. Food was surprisingly reasonable and happy hour and meal special was great.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff went above and beyond to please guests! We loved the common areas. The place sparkled and it even smelled great!! Room was very very clean, and we are quite particular about cleanliness in hotels. Beds were SO amazingly comfortable!! We stayed only one night, for daughter's sports competition, wish it could have been longer. Also, breakfast was excellent, with a variety of hot and cold items, fulfilling and they had something for everyone, and it's free!! Loved this hotel -- we will be back!!
Cons: The only tiny thing we noticed was that the pool towels weren't stocked for the amount of guests with young people staying in the hotel on this particular weekend. Wish it had a hot tub!! Not much else to complain about, which is rare for us picky folks. This is a terrific property, well maintained, beautiful grounds, clean and friendly!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms was very clean & big! Breakfast included is always a bonus. Would stay again. Checked in on a Friday evening. The man at the front desk was very helpful with ideas for dinner. I find it refreshing because some of my travels have a restaurant in the hotel & the only place they suggest is in the hotel. This hotel does not have a restaurant but breakfast was very yummy!
Cons: The book in the room had a list of restaurants you could go to. However, there was no addresses or what type of restaurant it was. I like to try local places & not go to chain restaurants that I can find everywhere.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel was very clean, everything was pristine. Every employee was helpful and kind, making the stay welcoming and comforting. The breakfast in the morning was great with more than enough options. There isn't too much to say, in all honesty. This is a great hotel that offers a superb experience. I recommend this for all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was smooth and perfect !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really great, the lobby is clean. The breakfast was perfect and well stocked. Really good shower pressue! I would return
Cons: The room was dark, small window for such a large room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were professional, helpful and polite. The general appearance of the hotel was of a good standard being clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel.
Cons: I had no issues with any aspects of this hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great 24 hour customer service, good breakfast.
Cons: The pool wasn't maintained as well as it could've been. We had to request towels each time and for the filter to be turned on. Also, our housekeeper didn't clean our room thoroughly. She would leave a lot of trash we couldn't fit into their tiny trash bins instead of disposing of it. She also seemed to do the bare minimum with each cleaning and didn't replace items we used as is customary.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, friendly staff and good breakfast. Clean room and excellent service.
Cons: Limited parking due to construction.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: They did NOT have an indoor pool. They were extremely apologetic and very accommodating with EVERYTHING. They said the information on our third party booking site was incorrect. VERY disappointing since that is why we chose this place but- not their fault.
Cons: That booking.com had the indoor pool wrong :(

Pros: This facility is always very clean and nice to stay in. Breakfast is very good.
Cons: We did not have heat in our room. This is the first time we had this problem and at first it seemed that the front desk was not really concerned. They did send 2 workers to look at the heat; however, the problem was not resolved. They gave us a heater which did work ok but they whole situation was very inconvenient. Then the sink was leaking and they did call in someone from maintenance on his off day and he did fix the problem.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location, basketball court, sitting area by the fire and check in clerk
Cons: The beds are horrible. We spent $200 to wake up in pain. We are professional truck drivers and came in on a quick business meeting and our sleep was horrible. We tossed and turned all night until we ended up on the sofa. We are two adults 38 and 43 and we spend time in alot of hotels and resorts and this here was an disappointment. We will be rethinking this chain of hotels

Pros: The staff was very pleasant and helpful, despite the challenges posed by the on-going gutting of the hotel interior.

6.7 Good
Pros: Rooming, high ceilings. Clean.
Cons: wifi not working. Heating was noisy. Coffee not good. Floor noise from upstairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor, great staff!
Cons: We reserved a king bed and got double beds. They moved us and charged an upgrade fee. Have not removed fee yet.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast and location were excellent.
Cons: The room was sparsely furnished for the price paid. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the lighting was terrible in the room. No reading lights by the bed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooftop bar was great for a view over the city. The staff were helpful and attentive, particularly when you're moving luggage in and out. The front desk was helpful in getting my boarding tickets printed as they don't have a business center. Having a stocked fridge in the room was nice.
Cons: Breakfast seemed overpriced and it was difficult to get the meal right - the first day was a very undercooked poached egg, too much bacon and not enough toast; second day was better (less bacon - more toast). Lots of material in the room on "Pink is the new Green" asking guests to reuse the towels, turn off the lights, put this card on the bed if you want it newly made, etc. So, I dutifully turn off the lights and every time i returned after the room had been made up, all the lights were on. I put the card on the bed to have new linens and they didn't change anything. More training on what they're actually doing 'greenwise' seems necessary for their staff. Of the four meals I ate in-house, on the last day, a new 'Service Charge' was added - when I asked what it was for, they said it was to cover the gratuity. Since I wasn't a party of six, which is when a forced gratuity is generally added, I didn't see why they were adding charges to the bill. I removed it and they honored that but it was annoying that they'd done it in the first place. I also couldn't understand the need to pad the bill for their service when they'd tried to deliver two of my dishes to the wrong table before they got to me.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Awesome lobby
Cons: Insanely loud room, mediocre creaky bed, iffy neighborhood, no luggage rack, not a 4 star bathroom by any stretch, actually children's art on the walls - not attractive or indicative of a 4 star space, curtains don't close all the way. Basically, look elsewhere for 300+ a night because this isn't a 4 star experience
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel has great staff and is beautifully decorated.
Cons: The beds were very hard and the sheets were itchy.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Didn't have breakfast
Cons: Questioned whether I was a hotel guest while asking for room coffee for the following morning, as we didn't use maid service. Never received the coffee for the next morning. Room we were given had a view of a brick wall, nice! Water pressure was extremely poor in shower. Also valet parking seemed high at $25.00 a night, although the valets were very nice!
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfort and easy walking anywhere
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was super nice. Love the design and location.
Cons: Double beds when the room was big enough for queen. Thin walls meant I could hear everyone in the hall and next door. Room wasn't ready to check in until late.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Check in time was very late (4pm).
6.0 Good
Cons: Lacked attention to detail. Both room and bathroom could have been cleaner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful lobby, wonderful rooms, great service and a New York City vibe.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: GREAT OLD STYLE HOTEL ROOMS WERE LARGE AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION . STAFF WAS TERRIFIC
Cons: ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT IT IS ABOUT A MILE AWAY FROM WHERE WE LIKE TO GO FOR HAPPY HOUR AND DINNER. NOT BAD IN THE FALL AND WINTER BUT A HORROR SHOW WHEN IT IS 95 IN THE SUMMER.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: First impressions make all the difference and the staff at The Berkeley made for a wonderful weekend getaway, A lovely woman named Alfrenda greeted me with such a warm smile that I immediately forgot that I'd been driving for eight hours. Starlet, another staff member with a dynamic personality, saved me from much distress when I left my laptop in the hotel. As for the hotel, I agree with most other reviews: it's classy with an old world charm. Great location, valet parking, and good wine.
Cons: Add a bigger bathtub and I'd never leave.

Pros: Friendly stuff and lovely interior.
Cons: There is nothing.
6.0 Good
Pros: Loved the history and ambience
Cons: The room above our room was so loud, making it hard to sleep and it was just them walking around I think. The floor/ceiling was just too thin I think. The hotel has so much potential, just needs updating and a good designer

Cons: Great hotel
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Event Saturday night . No parking for hotel guests when returned to Hotel at 9:30pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean
Cons: Pool wasn't heated enough. Very cold.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is next to a small lake with a walking trail.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The shower leaked bad. The only thing “fancy” was coffee stirrers. For $200 a night, the “vip lounge” breakfast should be free. Oh wait, the break fast was lame. Also, the lounge is on the 7th floor, so if you are on the 6th floor, you have to insert your room key card into the elevator to gain access, but by the time the key card works and you push “7”, the elevator goes all the way down to the first floor to get people. Don’t stay here. A $90 Comfort Inn is WAY better. Actually, sleeping in your car is better. My stay was a total of 4 hours, and I was disgusted at the quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The convenience to the highway and the surrounding stores and shops
7.1 Good
Pros: Our room (432) had flooded presumably from the AC unit. Walker (checked us in & responded to our 1st front desk call) was not the nicest guy. He seemed to be in a bad mood from check in on... Matthew the manager who then came on was incredibly helpful! you were full due to Parents weekend and the only alternative room was a handicapped one and a step down category wise. We took it as the water had gotten worse in the carpet and were comped the 1st night. Matthew handles the situation so well even though we were disappointed in the room we ultimately ended up in. We are Bonvoy members and have stayed at your property several times a year since 2011.
Cons: Some of the staff were less than accommodating.
7.0 Good
Pros: Didn't eat breakfast
Cons: I was woke up in the middle of the night hearing a dog bark down the hall. I gave instructions I didn't want to be near pets.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The security features that have have key for the elevator to get to your room makes you feel safer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was wonderful. Convenient location. Easy check in and out. Very clean comfortable rooms. Delicious food in the restaurant.

Pros: Nice place, nice room, friendly and polite staff.
Cons: Food at restaurant was overpriced and not very good. Water pressure wasn’t great.

Overview Reviews
The HYATT house Richmond West is six stories for personal getaways and business travel. A combination of modern suites rooms including refrigerators and microwaves. In addition, our king suites have full kitchens and all the amenities of home. On the second floor, completely secluded from the outside world, is an outdoor infinity pool with a fire pit and whirlpool. Located in the Short Pump Towne center, the hotel is well-situated among all the upscale shopping and restaurants.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The facility was somewhat new looking, but it was dirty. The hallways were layered with small pieces of trash as if the staff had forgotten to vacuum for several weeks. Just little signs that facility did not care about the details. Completely the opposite of what was expected from a Hyatt and definitely not what was expected from the price of the room. I have seen cleaner Red Roof Inns that had more pride in their location. A true disappointment.
Cons: Dirty
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Was not anywhere as nice as the other Hyatt's that I have stayed at!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the location! Right near a mall, lots of stores and restaurants in walking distance!
Cons: There was hair that didn’t belong to us in the shower, didn’t feel very clean. The breakfast wasn’t the best either, none of the servers seem to enjoy their jobs, and I think it showed in the food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was convenient to local shops and restaurants.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and staff was great as well.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was not clean. There was a yellow stain on the sheet and hair in the shower!!
6.3 Good
Pros: The location (part of the Short Pump mall) is great with mall parking, visible from the property windows.
Cons: The first room I was given smelled of cigarettes. I requested an alternate room. The second room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. Thick dust on lamp cables, hair near the pillow on the bed, dust on drawers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was soft!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly. The hotel itself like the lobby and exercise room are very nice. Excellent location with it being part of the Town Center shopping.
Cons: The rooms themselves are a little tired and seem like they need some updating or sprucing up. Our only other complaint is that our room never got cleaned the day after our first night there.
6.0 Good
Cons: Smell in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable location! This will now be a vacation destination in itself for us!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!

7.5 Good
Pros: This facility is always very clean and nice to stay in.
